With his Liverpool departure, Jurgen Klopp has been able to reclaim his position in the dugout.

The special farewell game for Borussia Dortmund veterans Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski is scheduled to see Jurgen Klopp return to the dugout. After leaving Anfield, the former Liverpool manager has been enjoying his free time, but he will soon return to the sidelines for a special one-off match.

It was confirmed that Klopp would take the dugout at Signal Iduna Park for the first time in almost a decade in a promotional film released by Dortmund on Friday. After years of devotion to the German powerhouses, Piszczek and Blaszczykowski will receive an emotional farewell from him in his role as manager.

“We have a farewell game, do you know that?,” Piszczek, who is currently a part of Nuri Sahin’s backroom crew at Dortmund, said at the start of the video. We’ll give the retiring coach a call; I have an idea for a coach.” After that, the film was divided into three displays, each displaying Klopp wearing black sunglasses.

“Your farewell game is finally here,” stated the former manager of Liverpool. “Oh my God. Are you a moron if you want to train? When asked if he would be managing one or both teams, Klopp replied, “I couldn’t care less,” which made the Dortmund veterans giggle uncontrollably.

Next month, Dortmund’s famous home stadium, Signal Iduna Park, will host the special match. Before joining Liverpool and staying there for nine years until his departure at the end of the previous season, Klopp managed both players throughout his seven-year tenure at the club.

After leaving Anfield, Klopp has been linked to a number of positions, but he has insisted that he will be taking a full-time leave from management. He felt compelled to speak out against the links with positions appearing all around the world at the end of July.

“At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs, no club, no country,” he stated. “This part must have escaped the ears of a few. And if you said, “I’ll make an exception for you now,” that would be the largest loss of face in football history.

“I have some work to do. I’m too young to limit my activities to tennis, padel, and grandkids. Will coaching be involved once more? Right now, I would actually rule that out. In a few months, let’s see how it looks. Right now, nothing is getting through. After a few months, perhaps, we can discuss it once more.

“I still want to use my relationships and experience to help others in the football industry. Let’s investigate my options further.”
