Liverpool have offered Gabri Veiga a lucrative €5 million a year contract offer pending a possible transfer.
According to Corriere Del Mezzogiorno via Paisley Gates, Liverpool have made a lucrative contract offer to lure Gabri Veiga.
The Merseysiders are set to beat off competition for the 21-year-old Chelsea target in a €5m-a-year contract for the Spanish sensation.
Gabri Veiga’s pursuit should gain momentum in the coming weeks. More clubs are arriving to show interest in the Spanish sensation, with the Premier League admiring her.
After a sensational season at Celta Vigo, the 21-year-old was always expected to move on to a bigger challenge.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona showed keen interest early on, but some reports suggest the Spanish giants are unwilling to pay the requested fee. Veiga is said to have a €40m release clause and Celta Vigo are unwilling to lower that price.
Thus, the responsibility fell to the Premier League teams, who have the budget to carry out the operation for Veiga. Liverpool and Chelsea are said to be interested, but Newcastle United could also be in the running.
With the 40 million euros it takes to land the 21-year-old from Chelsea, the focus is on which club makes the best deal offer.
Liverpool are stepping up their push to sign the player they see as a solid alternative to former target Mason Mount.
The London outfit could consider Veiga as Mount’s replacement with a potential transfer to Manchester United. The 21-year-old Chelsea target.
Paisley Gates reports that Liverpool have made a lucrative €5m-a-year contract offer. The same in England will amount to around £83,000 a week’s wages.
That’s a significant amount for the player who earns less than €3000 a week at Celta Vigo. The proposed contract is likely to attract him to Liverpool. Even Chelsea could make a similar proposal, perhaps even better.
Liverpool clearly need to add quality players to their squad to replace those who have already left. Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner have all left the club, leaving a huge void in the squad. The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister but need more quality and Veiga could fill that gap.

Man United’s rejected offer for Mason Mount show why Liverpool withdrew
Liverpool are no longer chasing Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and the offers Manchester United have rejected so far show why he retired.
Earlier this summer, it looked likely that Mount Stamford would swap Bridge for Anfield as part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield rebuild.
With the 24-year-old in the final year of his contract and Chelsea reluctant to offer him the extension he sought, Liverpool were ready to follow up on their long-standing interest.
Also at the end of May, he was presented as Mount’s most realistic option, until terms could be agreed with Man United.
As with Jude Bellingham, the Reds were quickly taken out of the picture as those within the club felt a deal was too costly to justify. However, United continued their efforts to sign the Englishman and this week Chelsea’s second offer was rejected.
According to widespread reports on Wednesday, including from Sky Sports, Chelsea have turned down a new offer worth up to £50m.
That package was a guaranteed £45m package with £5m in add-ons which, like United’s earlier offer of £40m, was “rejected immediately”.
The Athletic report says Chelsea United have presented terms which they have deemed acceptable, with the London club asking for £60m upfront and £5m in add-ons.
Despite this, it is claimed a deal is ‘closer’, although Sky Sports added that United ‘have their eyes set on a valuation they are unlikely to go beyond’.
When Liverpool waived Bellingham, they clearly decided to spread their funds across multiple midfielders which has paid off so far.
A deal for Alexis Mac Allister was valued at just £35million, with no further payments to be made at Brighton, according to This Is Anfield reports. Meanwhile, the latest reports from Nice suggest French midfielder Khephren Thuram – likely to sign up next – will be available for a similar fee.
Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone is priced in the same region, with Liverpool expected to bring in two more to join Mac Allister.
While Mount would be a great signing and help solve the local problem developing on Klopp’s side, he would also come with higher salary demands.
With Chelsea having already rejected a £50m offer and instead seeking £65m, that, plus Mount’s likely earnings of £200,000 a week, could see a deal worth at least £117m in five years.
