‘He’d prefer to relocate,’ Liverpool target’s wife confirms transfer position following agent conversations.

David Hancko’s wife confirms the Slovakian wants to leave Feyenoord as he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are on the market for a new centre-back this summer and have already been linked with a number of players.

One such player is Feyenoord’s David Hancko, who has previously been linked with a reunion with Arne Slot at Anfield.

Capable of playing at either centre-back or left-back, the defender caught the eye in Slovakia’s surprising Euro 2024 opener against Belgium, sparking fresh conjecture about his future plans.

Liverpool were first linked with Hancko long before Slot’s arrival at Anfield, with his agent discussing his client’s future in January amid such transfer rumours.

“As an agency, we are in contact not only with these two clubs (Liverpool and PSG), but also with others who are looking into David’s situation,” Branislav Jasurek of FairSport International, the defender’s agent, told TN.cz when questioned about Liverpool’s alleged interest.

“The people at Feyenoord are aware that David Hancko will be sold, possibly better than today. It would have to be one of the larger clubs. He will not transfer from Feyenoord Rotterdam, who will compete in the Champions League, to a club in the second half of the Premier League.

“It is unique about David because he still wishes to speak with the coach. We believe that in the summer, he will choose the finest in terms of sports, just as he did with Sparta Prague over other teams. Likewise, he picked Feyenoord Rotterdam over other, more financially enticing offers.

“If he transfers, it will be fantastic because he will go to a huge club. But even if he doesn’t transfer, I believe David is content in Rotterdam and nothing significant will happen.”

Hancko’s wife, professional tennis star Kristana Pliskova, has now confirmed that the Slovakian wants to quit Feyenoord following the European Championships. However, she hinted that if it were up to her, she would not choose a move to the Premier League for one very good reason: the weather!

“We’ll deal with it this summer. “Probably only after the championship, but I’m not that expert,” she told Sportovy. “I am not sure if it is up for grabs, but I believe he would like to move on. Actually, we’d both be pleased.

“We will see what happens at the end. I am not complaining, but there are certainly nicer spots. “For me, Spain or Italy.”

Admittedly, if Liverpool does sign Hancko, the English weather is unlikely to deter the Slovakian. While his representative mentioned his close relationship with now-former boss Slot, the defender is a lifelong Reds fan, and the attraction of a move to Anfield could be too much for him.

“It all started with the Istanbul Champions League final in 2005, which my parents allowed me to watch until the end,” he told Slovakian publication Aktuality. Even though there was additional time, I didn’t have to go to bed.

“Then came Martin Skrtel. I’ve been a Liverpool fan ever since. I am a big fan of the English Premier League, thus that is my dream. My role model has always been David Beckham, but I root mainly for Liverpool.”
