“How can they?” It’s ridiculous! After Liverpool’s victory, Ian Wright was not thrilled with Trent Alexander-Arnold decision during Liverpool win

According to Ian Wright, Trent Alexander-Arnold ought to have received credit for his two goals against Fulham on Sunday.
After Liverpool defeated Fulham 4-3 on Sunday, Ian Wright called it “ridiculous” that Trent Alexander-Arnold was not given the first goal for his team.
The goal that won Liverpool the match in the last moments at Anfield was scored by the Reds’ right-back, who made headlines for himself. The game was finely poised at 3-3 just moments before Wataru Endo, a substitute, curled a shot into the top corner to restore parity.
After the game, though, it was revealed that Alexander-Arnold’s free kick, which went unnoticed by Alexander-Arnold, had actually been an own goal by Bernd Leno, after it cannoned off the crossbar and onto the German’s back before nestling into the net.
Wright questioned the choice in a statement on Premier League Productions, asking how Trent was not given the first goal despite the fact that it was an own goal.
“Take a look at that! It is ridiculous to deny him that goal.
This season, Alexander-Arnold has been a terrific goal scorer for the Reds. His game-winning goal against Fulham came just one week after he had helped Liverpool draw even with a late equaliser against Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, avoided answering questions about whether he would ever permanently switch his No. 66 jersey to a midfield position during his Tuesday pre-Sheffield United press conference.
The Liverpool manager told reporters, “We still have to make decisions on what is best for the team and Trent sees it exactly the same way.” He wants to play, but in my opinion, in order to do so, he needs to have influence, therefore we need to make sure we support him with his positioning.
“Playing as a right-back, he went on to become one of Liverpool’s most successful players in recent memory. He signed a contract to play right back in the Premier League. Without a doubt, he can play more indoors.
“He’ll play where it suits us the most. What resources are at our disposal? Are Joey and Conor (Joe Gomez and Bradley) present? Given that Kostas (Tsimikas) is unable to play in every game, if both of them are there, must we play one of them at left back?
“Yes, Trent can play midfield, but we’ve always known he can also play the position we’ve given him right now.
“He needs to be influential in all areas if he wants to be good because when he plays well, it just makes us better.”

The “best goal i scored in my life” according to Alexis Mac Allister
After a thrilling 4-3 Premier League victory over Fulham on Sunday, Alexis Mac Allister declared that his first goal for Liverpool was the best of his career.
Anfield was electrified by the midfielder’s incredible 27-yard goal in the first half, but Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late goals were ultimately necessary for Jürgen Klopp’s team to win an incredible triumph.
After the game, a beaming Mac Allister talked about his first Reds appearance with Liverpoolfc.com.
“I had a nice one against Leicester [for Brighton] but it was disallowed,” says the player. “I believe that to be the best goal I have ever scored in my life.
“Not a bad start to my career there in Liverpool as a goalscorer!”
“As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going to be a goal,” he went on. Although I often say that when I play as a No. 6, I am not too concerned about goals and assists because I have other tasks to accomplish, it was still a really lovely goal.”
After taking the lead twice in the first half against Marco Silva’s team, Liverpool appeared to be losing when Bobby De Cordova-Reid, a substitute, handed the Cottagers an 80th-minute advantage.
But three minutes from time, Endo, who had been substituted in late, tied the score with an incredible goal, and less than two minutes later, Alexander-Arnold finished brilliantly to secure the victory.
“Endo definitely changed the game,” Mac Allister remarked. “Due to the objective and the way he assisted the team in striking the proper balance.
“The squad was playing really offensively when Jürgen brought me off, so maybe we needed a player like Endo.
“I’m thrilled for him. He deserves it; he’s a truly wonderful guy.”
Mac Allister was equally enthusiastic in his praise of Alexander-Arnold, who not only scored the game-winning goal but also assisted in forcing the first goal with a magnificent free-kick that went through the back of Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
He exclaimed, “It looks very easy for him!” “He has an easy time striking the ball. That is evident in every goal he scores.
“He’s a very important player for us, for the club, for the fans, and we are very happy for him as well.”
Liverpool’s victory over Fulham sets up a hectic December schedule that includes tough journeys to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace later this week.
“We know that December and January are two very important months to see where we are at,” said Mac Allister. “We want to fight, we want to win every game, and that’s what we are going to try.
