Liverpool
In the transfer market, three overlooked Liverpool players might spare Arne Slot millions.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot will need to make some significant decisions in the coming weeks.
Creating a plan for the summer transfer window will be among Arne Slot’s first priorities now that he is officially the manager of Liverpool.
After replacing Jurgen Klopp as manager, Slot has a big job to do to lead the Reds into a new, prosperous era. Two weeks into his tenure, on June 14, the window opens for business, and certain player contracts expire at the end of the month.
Richard Hughes, the new sporting director, and Michael Edwards, the head of the Fenway Sports Group, hired the Dutchman. The two have a lot of sway behind the scenes at Liverpool, where they will evaluate the team and search for new players using their data-driven recruitment process.
Joel Matip, a center-back, and Thiago Alcantara, a midfielder, have left Liverpool due to contract expiration. Other players may follow them in the upcoming weeks. In the upcoming weeks, the club’s top aim is undoubtedly to strengthen the roster, although they are constrained by Premier League profit and sustainability regulations from making hasty purchases.
Although Mohamed Salah’s £100 million sale to the Saudi Pro League may provide the team enough money to reinvest in itself, there is an alternative method of doing things. With Slot’s arrival, a few fringe Liverpool players who were on loan and may now be aiming for a promotion to the first team get a fresh start.
Sepp van den Berg
Given that Slot’s departure leaves him with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah, and Joe Gomez, central defence is clearly an area in which Slot is lacking. Sepp van den Berg, a player they have had since 2019, but who has only made four appearances for the first team, is someone who would be a good fit.
After spending time on loan at Preston, Schalke, and Mainz, Van den Berg is obviously eager for a more permanent arrangement. The 22-year-old has made an impression at Mainz this season and has shown frustration with his parent club’s lack of opportunity.
In 2021, I too felt’ready’. He told De Telegraaf, “I had a good conversation with the management.” “He reported that he had heard positive things. I realised that I couldn’t help [the team] with Van Dijk, Matip, or Konate.
However, I believed that I might be right behind it. “Figure it out, I want to leave,” I exclaimed when I didn’t get another chance. Liverpool doesn’t seem to have much faith in me, but you do want to stand in the way of my success.
I wish to continue playing every week and advance my own development. Van den Berg’s contract with Liverpool expires in two years, and the club values him at £20 million. Slot may want to bring his fellow Dutchman on pre-season to see what he can do firsthand, but they may also choose to cash in.
Tyler Morton
Tyler Morton, who returned to Liverpool this summer following an outstanding loan at Hull City, is another possible money-saver. Morton, 21, contributed three goals and five assists in 41 appearances across the Championship and FA Cup, making him a virtual constant for Hull.
After giving the academy graduate his Champions League debut in 2021, Klopp praised him and the player has now made nine appearances for Liverpool. “There’s no denying Tyler’s talent as a smart football player,” he remarked. This is visible to you. His technique is excellent, and his natural movements and places make him a real football smart child. He will be a professional football player if he goes to the gym and gains a body. He has a sharp football mind.
Fabio Carvalho, who spent a terrible season at RB Leipzig, joined Morton at Hull for the second half of the year and left a lasting impression. In 20 Championship games, Carvalho returned with nine goals and two assists, and in February, Klopp gave him a shout-out.
By the way, I overlooked Hull. It’s wonderful to see that Tyler and Fabio are doing so well,” he remarked. It’s wonderful to see Fabio back to his full self-assurance. Both are frequent participants and fairly dominant players. Both have developed in an amazing way.
