Jürgen Klopp gets what he needs as Liverpool receives four injury boosts, including Trent Alexander-Arnold.
It looks like Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in training with Liverpool. In addition, Jürgen Klopp has received three more boosters ahead of the final stretch of the Premier League.
Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Stefan Bajčetić were all observed in training ahead of Liverpool’s Europa League first-leg match against Atalanta, giving the team a quadruple fitness boost.
Speaking on Friday ahead of the trip to Manchester United, Jürgen Klopp stated that he hoped to see them all this week. And it appears that the Germans’ wish for them all to participate in team training to some extent has been granted.
Alisson hasn’t played since the 3-1 loss against Brentford at the beginning of February, while Jota sustained a knee injury against them about two weeks later. Since the league match between the two, at Anfield against Burnley, Alexander-Arnold has not been available.
Bajčetić, who has missed nearly the entire season due to an injury, spent last week practicing with Liverpool’s U21 team. Thus far in 2023–24, the 19-year-old Spanish midfielder has only made two appearances.
Bajčetić is not immediately needed to play because of the form of Alexis Mac Allister and company, and Liverpool will continue to be cautious with the youthful potential. However, having a role in the run-in would be a pleasant lift for him.
More importantly, though, is that Jota and Alexander-Arnold will soon be available for selection for Liverpool. The former’s clinical edge was lacking against Manchester United over the weekend, but Alexander-Arnold will provide Jürgen Klopp’s team an instant boost of quality in addition to what Conor Bradley has been doing in his absence.

Although Caoimhín Kelleher has performed admirably in Alisson’s absence, the Brazilian is probably going to return to the squad for the Premier League games. Kelleher has been touring Europe and is probably going to stay there.
During his pre-Atalanta press conference on Wednesday, Klopp will provide a more comprehensive report on injuries. Prior to that quarterfinal match, Liverpool’s players will also be put through their paces in an open session with the media.
With seven Premier League games remaining, a two-leg Europa League last-eight matchup with Atalanta, a probable two-leg semi-final matchup with either Benfica or Marseille, and a potential final, Liverpool can play up to 12 games this season. It will be crucial to have as many important players fit as possible as the Reds want to give Klopp the send-off of his dreams by winning a few more titles.
