Jurgen Klopp has delivered some worrying news to Liverpool fans as three of their key stars will miss the Thursday’s Europa League clash with Toulouse.
The Merseyside club beat the French club in five games at Anfield in the latest Ligue 1 competition.
The Premier League club travel to France for the return leg after being held to a 1-1 draw by Luton Town on Sunday.
Liverpool will also be without three key stars, with Virgil van Dijk (illness), Gravenberch (knee) and Jones (knee) ruled out for the Toulouse clash, according to Neil Jones.
Klopp said at his Wednesday night press conference that Van Dijk should return for Liverpool’s games against Brentford and Gravenburch on Sunday, but Klopp revealed that Jones will not be available until after the international break.
Liverpool will be sorely missing these stars on Thursday, but they have the players to beat Toulouse without them. But the Reds will need their two stars for Brentford as Wasps present a different challenge.

Mario Bittencourt, the president of Fluminense, provided an update on Andre Trindade, a transfer target for Liverpool.
Mario Bittencourt, the president of Fluminense, has acknowledged that he anticipates Andre Trindade, a target for Liverpool, leaving the team in January.
Midway through their domestic season, Fluminense informed the Reds that they had no intention of moving the midfield player. The Reds had contacted the Brazilian club in the summer.
A choice of that kind was taken with the intention of winning the Copa Libertadores. And in an update on the Brazil international’s future, Bittencourt said he anticipates receiving a club-record bid for Andre following next month’s FIFA Club World Cup. Fluminense defeated Boca Juniors in Saturday’s final to win South American championships for the first time in their history.
“We have to wait. There isn’t a specific idea for Andre as of yet,” he said to Globo. However, we have little doubt that a soaring proposal will come after the World Cup—which he will play in.
“It might be the club’s largest sale ever.” Both Andre and Nino, the defender, are potential losses, but we are trying to find their replacements.
In the meantime, Andre’s representative, Carlos Leite, has revealed the details of his discussions with Bittencourt about his client’s future at the beginning of the year and in the summer, hinting at Liverpool’s rumoured summer bid.
The president of Fluminense requested a meeting with Leite at the beginning of 2023 in order to express his desire for the midfield player to remain at Fluminense until January 2024.
Leite told Globo, “He came to me and said that Fluminense had no interest in selling André this year.” “I spoke with the player and gave him an explanation; he accepted the concept. We decided that it would only be exchanged starting in January 2024.
“It might be the club’s largest sale ever.” Both Andre and Nino, the defender, are potential losses, but we are trying to find their replacements.
Unless Fluminense has a change of heart. He is not obligated to sell anyone, therefore he had no need to sit with me. But this was his worry.
“He lacks the conceit and haughtiness that some people possess, saying things like, ‘Find my director.'”
In the summer, Liverpool made a £150 million overhaul of their midfield by adding Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister. They haven’t had a natural first-choice holding midfielder since the unannounced departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia, though, which has forced them to negotiate with Fluminense after losing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.
While they primarily used Mac Allister as a holding midfielder in the interim, the Reds would eventually recruit Endo from VfB Stuttgart instead. However, it’s unclear if Liverpool intends to rekindle their interest in Andre come January.
His services are still being linked to teams other than the Reds. According to reports, they sent representatives to the Copa Libertadores final to watch the midfield player, along with Arsenal and Fulham.
But Andre will undoubtedly transfer for a record sum for Fluminense no matter where he ends up. In January 2016, Gerson signed a €17 million contract to join AS Roma, which is now their most costly exit
