LFC transfer news: Neves becomes a “priority” as Dani Olmo provides hint about the future

Since taking over for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Arne Slot has yet to sign a player, but with the summer transfer window already open for one month, it seems inevitable.
Although Liverpool has a new face in the dugout, the supporters are more eager to see new players on the pitch.
Arne Slot took over as Anfield’s manager when Jurgen Klopp resigned, and he has established himself by managing Kirkby’s pre-season training. However, Slot and the Reds’ hiring staff are hard at work in the background to enhance Liverpool’s roster in preparation for the 2024–25 Premier League season.
The third-place result and Carabao Cup win from the previous season provide the Dutchman with a strong foundation, far superior to the one Klopp began with, but when 2025 rolls around, they’ll have to step it up. It’s time for new blood because several long-serving players have also left the building.
This is a summary of Anfield’s most recent transfer news.
Neves is priotise
Joao Neves, the wonderkid from Benfica, is reportedly Liverpool’s top target for the summer transfer season, and they are getting ready to make an offer. Benfica has reportedly previously turned down two £51 million offers for the 19-year-old midfield player, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain also showing interest as well, according to Portuguese publication Correio da Manha.
However, after making an appearance for Portugal at Euro 2024, Neves has an eye-watering £101 million release clause, and Benfica isn’t willing to sell him for less. Before having to pay that much, Liverpool would probably need to sell players, but the Reds do have a link with Benfica thanks to Darwin Nunez’s arrival in 2022.
Nico Williams update
Jon Uriarte, the president of Athletic Bilbao, is adamant that his team can stop Nico Williams from departing this summer. The 21-year-old Spain international, who started for La Roja during Euro 2024, has been linked to Barcelona, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
Bilbao CEO Uriarte is cited as stating in response to transfer rumours: “We have a top project with no limits and we’re able to keep top players like Nico Williams at the club.” Nico is frequently asked too many questions about his future because Federation has failed to provide him with protection. We kindly request your respect.”
Dani Olmo drops future indication.
Amidst rumours of a £50 million transfer to Liverpool, Dani Olmo has suggested that he already knows his destiny. After scoring goals in both the semifinal and quarterfinals, 26-year-old Olmo will take on England in Sunday’s final at the European Championship.
According to reports, the midfield player for RB Leipzig has a £50 million release clause that expires on July 20. Liverpool will have just seven days to decide, despite Olmo’s claims that he already knows what is ahead for him.
He assured the Spanish publication Cadena SER, “I’m not worried.” “Everything is taken care of by my people. I’m too busy dealing with the Euros to focus on anything else. especially with the final coming up. There’s nothing else on my mind.
The former playmaker for Dinamo Zagreb continued, “I’m under contract with RB Leipzig. I don’t give it much thought. My desires and opinions are already known to the people I trust. That is the sole consideration.” When the reporter inquired about when his release clause would expire, Olmo responded, chuckling, “You know what you have to do. The clubs will have to engage in some fighting if it happens later.”
