LFC transfer news: The electric winger has stated that he will only move to a “top” club

According to one of Liverpool’s rumoured summer transfer targets, he will only join a “top” team. He might choose the same route as a previous teammate.
Johan Bakayoko, a winger for PSV Eindhoven, is interviewed by Eindhoven’s Dagblad, delving into his future. After a stellar season, the 21-year-old has been linked to a summer transfer.
Bakayoko participated in 47 games in all competitions as PSV easily won the championship. They finished with a goal differential of 90, scoring 111 goals, and dropping just 11 points in 34 Eredivisie games.
Though a remarkable star, Bakayoko was free to move on. But if he does leave at all, it will only be to a “top” team.
“If I were to leave Eindhoven, it would only be to a club that plays for the prizes just like PSV,” Bakayoko stated. “I want to become a champion. and take home the Champions League title. I am qualified to do it.
“I’m prepared for success. Still, PSV is a great team, particularly if a lot of the stars from the previous year return. And it’s nice here.
Indeed, in a true sense. Good. I don’t believe I’ve ever radiated here while I play grudgingly. Although the vacation came just after the European Championships, it’s wonderful to be back at PSV. The spirit of the previous season endures.”
Liverpool want Johan Bakayoko
The Belgian has been linked to Liverpool. A few months back, Het Laatste Nieuws reported that they were among the few sides that had Bakayoko on their shortlist.
They ‘definitely’ prefer Bakayoko, according to journalist Rik Elfrink, and they may move this summer. It remains to be seen, though, if they actually do.
But the circumstances are comparable to Cody Gakpo’s. When he was a star player at PSV in 2022, he turned down offers to play in the Premier League, preferring to wait for a “top” team.
Then, in January of the next year, Liverpool made an offer, which Gakpo eagerly accepted. With his old teammate, history might be repeated.
