Liverpool have a £152,000-per-week star on their shortlist of targets ahead of the upcoming season
Liverpool have received a boost in their search for Ryan Gravenberch as he “would be interested” in a move to Anfield, and journalist Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT what stage negotiations with Bayern Munich are at.
With Saudi Arabia’s big spenders sacking the Reds, boss Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on finding replacements for Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
Transfer news Liverpool – Ryan Gravenberch
According to Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy, Gravenberch has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time and they could raise the bar in their pursuit as they look to fill the void left by Fabinho.
The respected journalist suggests that the Reds have already spoken to representatives of the central midfielder before trying to remove him from Bayern.
Gravenberch only departed for the Allianz Arena after signing a £20m deal with Eredivisie giants Ajax last year. But the 21-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a key member of the Bayern squad, being limited to just 937 minutes of action during the 2022-23 season.
A lack of playing time has led Gravenberch to admit he would be open to tackling new pastures, while Liverpool aren’t his only admirers.
It is clear that Inter, Juventus, Milan and Napoli are interested in the Dutch international, but he would prefer to move to the Premier League if he leaves Bayern.
Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk recently told GIVEMESPORT that the reigning Bundesliga champions may be willing to sell Gravenberch, despite initially intending to retain his services.
What did Ben Jacobs say about Gravenberch? Jacobs understands that Gravenberch, who scored 25 goals in 103 games during his time at Ajax, would be happy to move to Liverpool if he comes to the negotiating table.
But the Reliable Reporter is aware that the Merseyside team have not upped the ante in the £152,000-a-week manhunt.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “Ryan Gravenberch would be interested in a move to Liverpool. Bayern’s starting point was that they didn’t want to sell him.”
“But Gravenberch was not particularly happy under Julian Nagelsmann. Even though Thomas Tuchel is now in charge, the player could be quite open to this change. It’s just a question of whether Bayern are ready to be sold. No progress has yet been made.
What future for Liverpool?
According to The Guardian, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is the latest big name to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
According to the report, the Ligue 1 giants are ready to approve the Italy international’s departure despite playing 38 games last season, provided a suitable offer is made before the summer window closes. Although Cheick Doucour is on Klopp’s radar, Crystal Palace have made it clear they are not ready to sell him for less than £70million.
Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, Fiorentina defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara have also been identified as targets.
Liverpool are preparing for an official speech for Southampton talisman Romeo Lavia after they were convinced he was sold for a move to Anfield.

Report: Liverpool now prepared to make the £90m Real Madrid player a serious transfer target
Liverpool are reportedly ready to make Aurelien Tchouameni a serious transfer target this summer, but only if Real Madrid put the midfielder up for sale.
Jurgen Klopp remains interested in the France international, according to the Telegraph. However, a transfer of Tchouameni is only possible if Los Blancos place the 23-year-old on the transfer list.
Liverpool came close to signing Tchouameni last summer before Madrid hijacked the deal and managed to bring the AS Monaco star to Spain while the Reds were left empty-handed.
However, Liverpool have never given up on their interest in Tchouameni and the Reds could now opt for the midfielder if Madrid decide to sell the Frenchman this summer, which is highly likely. The Mirror recently reported that Real Madrid were reported to sell the youngster for £90m. However, with Liverpool now in the money after the sale of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, a compromise could be made.
Indeed, Madrid’s hunt for Kylian Mbappe is no secret this summer. And Tchouameni’s transfer to Liverpool, having already signed Jude Bellingham, could help Carlo Ancelotti’s side cross the line for the PSG superstar.
If Real sell Tchouameni to Liverpool it would be a win-win situation
Liverpool are looking for a midfielder and Real are looking at ways to raise money for Mbappé. The solution? Selling Tchouameni to the Reds, making the transfer a win-win situation for all parties involved.
As we know, Tchouameni was close to signing for the Reds last year before Real Madrid flexed their muscles to bring French talent to Spain. And a year after the transfer, the midfielder could still end up at Anfield.
Of course, it could all hinge on Madrid thinking that the sale of Tchouameni will finally help them sign Mbappé. But with the PSG star keen on a move, Liverpool could hit the jackpot and bring the midfielder to Merseyside this summer.
