Liverpool agrees to pay Juventus winger Chiesa £10 million. Federico Chiesa, a winger for Juventus, has decided to join Liverpool.

Federico Chiesa, a winger for Juventus, has decided to join Liverpool.

The Italy international will cost the Reds £10 million, with an additional £2.5 million up front that will be paid in add-ons mostly based on team performance.

Chiesa, 26, is his route to Liverpool for a medical check-up, and should everything proceed as planned, he will be the first player signed by Arne Slot to arrive at the team.

Chiesa declared he was “ready for this new adventure” when speaking to Sportitalia, an Italian network, outside of an airport on Wednesday.

The attacker was a standout member of the Italy team that defeated England in the Euro 2020 championship game at Wembley on penalties.

In 131 appearances for Juventus, Chiesa scored 32 goals, including 10 in 37 games during the previous campaign.

But Thiago Motta, the recently hired Juventus manager, has kept him off of his first two matchday squads this year.

Giorgi Mamardashvili, a custodian for Georgia, will join Liverpool in the upcoming season after the club and Valencia agreed to a deal worth up to £29 million on Tuesday.

Juventus profited from Chiesa.

Chiesa, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025, has had difficulty regaining his best form since needing surgery to treat a major knee injury in January 2022.

Slot thinks the former Fiorentina star will bring something new to Liverpool’s team, though.

Chiesa was included in both the Euro 2020 tournament team and the Serie A team of the year a year later.

Chiesa, who made nine goals in his 25 league starts last season, is not expected to play for the Italian team moving forward as Juventus looks to recoup some of the money they paid for the player who arrived in a transaction for up to £54 million.

Liverpool will compete with Tottenham to sign the £50 million transfer target

Liverpool will compete with Tottenham to sign the £50 million transfer target.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, has bolstered his midfield and offence this summer.

Among other players, Spurs have managed to bring in midfielder Archie Grey from Leeds United and striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

They have given Tottenham the strength and depth they needed to contend for a spot in the top four of the Premier League this year. They made these additions to the squad this summer.

The North Londoners are reportedly interested in signing a defensive player, but Liverpool and Bayern Munich will likely put up a fierce fight for the player’s services.

Diario Expreso (quoted by Liverpool Echo) claims that Tottenham is considering a move for Piero Hincapie, the defender for Bayer Leverkusen.

It has been communicated to the Premier League team and all other interested clubs that a £50 million offer would be required in order to recruit the player this summer.

Spurs have enough centre backs for the upcoming season with Radu Dragusin serving as the backup option and Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven as the first choice.

Ben Davies, a left-back, has additionally demonstrated his ability to play centre defence when called upon.

Spurs are still hoping to sign the player, who is a left- and centre-back in addition to that.

More than a defender, Tottenham needs a wide attacker.

The manager of Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso, is keen to keep the defender on staff and believes the only way the defender would be allowed to leave the German champions this summer is if he receives a sizable financial offer.

Given that Tottenham have paid a large quantity of money to acquire Solanke and Grey this summer, it seems doubtful that they will spend the same amount of money on another defender, especially one who will serve as a backup.

Spurs require greater depth in their assault, especially from the right side of the attack, therefore they must concentrate on their wide attacking areas.
