Liverpool defender bids farewell on Instagram after a free move is officially confirmed

Adam Lewis, a former defender for Liverpool, said goodbye to his childhood team after agreeing to a free transfer to Morecambe of League Two.
The Merseyside giants released a number of first-team and youth players at the end of last month, including Adrian, Joel Matip, and Thiago Alcantara, whose contracts had expired. The left-back was one of them.
As a result, Lewis, who made just one senior appearance back in 2020, has ended his 19-year tenure with the team, which includes five loan stints.
The defender, however, didn’t have to wait long to find a new team, as Morecambe revealed 15 signings on Friday following the lifting of their EFL registration restriction the previous day.
In addition, Lewis played 76 minutes in The Shrimps’ non-competitive preseason opener against Longridge Town on Saturday in an effort to hone his fitness before the upcoming campaign.

I will always have a particular place in my heart for Liverpool. “Now let’s start a new chapter at @morecambefc. I’m excited to meet the fans and look forward to the upcoming season.”
