Liverpool
Liverpool has nothing left to lose against Atalanta, thus two players must start.

In the second part of his weekly ECHO piece, John Aldridge considers Liverpool’s goal-scoring woes and anticipates that they will need a miracle against Atalanta.
Liverpool’s finishing is still letting them down. Over the past few weeks, I’ve stated it a few times, and I can’t say anything more.
When you consider how many attempts they have made to reach the goal, the evidence is there. The number of goals they have scored is absurd. Because of this, teams at the bottom of the standings struggle, and their conversion rate could be higher!
The one bright spot is that we are generating opportunities. It becomes even more of an issue when you’re not taking chances.
As I mentioned last week, from the perspective of a striker, it’s quite annoying to watch miss after miss after miss. You can ask Rushie or Robbie Fowler.
Liverpool had a minimum of six excellent scoring chances. Six! And the most of them weren’t even hard.
We’re not able to locate the corners. As I’ve said previously, you need to look for the opportunities. You do not strike the goalie. It’s not simply smashed.
Given their situation and the pressure they are under, they must maintain their composure. However, since the FA Cup game, we’ve seen that they’re clutching at it. Despite outlasting a team, we were unable to take any chances.
That kind of game is something I’ve played a lot; it happens. However, since it happens every week at the moment, the possibilities are slim.
All they need to start looking a whole lot better is the shooting conversion rate. It tells a story and isn’t very excellent.
The strikers must begin to develop confidence in themselves. All of them are capable of scoring goals; they are all goal scorers. They must have faith in their ability.
They’ll start taking more chances once they start to get one or two. It has to do with confidence, which they currently lack. That needs to alter.
I’ve been saying this week after week, so I’m just restating myself here. The strikers’ lack of form is weighing heavily on their thoughts at a critical juncture for Liverpool.
The strikers now need to focus on maintaining their positions. Avoid being afraid to enter the box because doing so will cost you opportunities. Continue entering that area.
It’s similar to waiting for a bus—three will arrive at once soon! And the matchup with Atalanta is the ideal time to do that.
Gakpo and Jota need to start.
Cody Gakpo has appeared really energetic in the previous games. The forwards have been under siege and will be once more when they play Atalanta.
I’d start Gakpo and Jota since they both need a game. He is deserving of it. Any of the other three, with one another. I would act in such manner.
You don’t suddenly turn into a terrible team. There, we’re going to make at least four excellent opportunities. It’s full steam ahead if we take them all.
Nothing would motivate us more than to travel to Atlanta and complete the task at hand. Though it’s easier said than done, that would be such a tonic. We are in a difficult situation.
They have to think that it’s not insurmountable. They need to start with a blank slate and generate opportunities. You never know, maybe something will come up for us.
It goes without saying that improved defence is also necessary. You won’t consistently win games if you don’t keep clean sheets. And we don’t act in that manner.
Nothing to drop
Beginning on Thursday, they have nothing to lose and must gather themselves up. Just go for it; you have nothing to lose. Have faith and take action.
I would be far more convinced if it were at home. However, it’s not at home. However, we have already defeated teams 3-0 away from home. And, with all due respect to them, better teams than Atalanta as well.
That is what needs to be done. They must go there and project positivity. Think positively and that you can succeed. We could have a shout if we take our chances. Even though it’s a big ask, everything is achievable.
If we play it safe in the first half, we’ll quickly plant a doubt in their thoughts. Do they launch an offensive or hold back after taking a 3-0 lead? It will be fascinating.
