Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

One rumour is that Liverpool wants to name a successor for Jurgen Klopp by the first week of June.

Many contenders have been connected to the Anfield managerial position as the Reds hunt high and low for a manager who can continue the legacy that Klopp built over his eight and a half years on Merseyside.

Before deciding to join Bayer Leverkusen, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso was the top candidate for the position. Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, has also been eliminated from consideration.

Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting CP, is now the clear choice; nevertheless, other names that have been brought up include Simone Inzaghi and Julian Nagelsmann.

Liverpool will want to select a new manager as soon as humanly possible because of the several international competitions this summer, such as Euro 2024 and the Copa America. Football Insider reports that the Reds may reveal their new manager in early June.

Liverpool is still looking for a successor to Jurgen Klopp.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke stated on the Inside Track Podcast that Liverpool is eager to select someone soon after the 2023–24 season concludes in order to avoid any unwelcome distractions over the final stretch.

“I think more likely it will be post-season, just to be fair to Jurgen Klopp to see out the season,” O’Rourke stated.

“Liverpool won’t want any distractions as they compete for both the Premier League crown and the Europa League.

Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

“The prospective targets experience the same thing. Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon, who has his own goals to pursue in an attempt to win the Portuguese championship, is undoubtedly not interested in being distracted between now and the end of the season.

Therefore, I believe it wouldn’t be fair to make any announcements about perhaps going into a new job, especially for managers who are now employed. The most likely time for Liverpool to name Klopp’s replacement, in my opinion, is after the season.

“It’s likely that discussions are still going on with a number of candidates, not just Amorim,” he continued. Julian Nagelsmann, the man leading Germany at Euro 2024, has been mentioned. I’m sure Liverpool is speaking with other potential candidates who are not in the media to see if they may be added.

“So I don’t expect anything to be announced before the end of the season. I think there will probably be an announcement in early June before pre-season.”
