Liverpool is the clear favourite for the Brazillian after Inter Milan decides not to pay the asking amount.

Liverpool has emerged as the front-runners to recruit Brazil custodian Bento, following Inter Milan’s decision to forego paying Athletico Paranaense’s €15 million transfer demand.
Instead, Inter used those sums to acquire Spanish custodian Josep Martinez from Genoa, hoping to establish him as their long-term first choice.
Bento is now available for purchase as a result of this decision, with Liverpool, Sporting CP, and Benfica reportedly leading the race to sign him, according to Globo.
The 2021 Copa Sudamericana winner has also been linked to two other unidentified English teams.
The 25-year-old, who has a long-standing desire to join the Serie A powerhouses, is devastated by Inter’s unwillingness to comply with Athletico’s demands.
Bento will be compelled to remain if no other teams meet their conditions and become interested. In the national team system, the two-cap Brazil international plays as Alisson Becker’s backup at Liverpool.
In the March friendly, they play England at Wembley and Spain at the Bernabeu. Alisson declared, “I am still one of the younger ones,” and that he would WELCOME the competition Bento offered in the Brazil ranks.
“This is my best moment. Brazil produces a lot of talented goalkeepers, both domestically and abroad. It avoids complacency and keeps us alert.”
At Athletico, the homegrown goalie has been first choice since 2022 and is contracted through the end of 2026.
COAMIN KELLEHER IS DESIRABLE, ADRIAN IS GONE
According to reports, Liverpool is looking to add a custodian this summer. Adrian San Miguel, the third choice, has returned to Spain with Real Betis, and Caoimhin Kelleher is looking to transfer elsewhere in order to establish himself as a No. 1.
Other players connected to the role include Alex McCarthy of Southampton, who has since agreed to a new contract, Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen, Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson, and Burnley’s James Trafford.
After spending several years in Alisson’s shadow, Kelleher, 25, has expressed again his desire to put himself through his paces as a first-choice.
The Irishman was reportedly attracting interest from Celtic and Nottingham Forest. In February, he was in goal as Liverpool defeated Chelsea to win the Carabao Cup.
This summer, the Reds’ goalkeeping department will experience a major disturbance when longtime coach John Achterberg steps down after 15 years.
Following the conclusion of the Copa America, where he is presently working with the United States, Fabian Otte will join as the new goalkeeping coach.
