Liverpool are looking to get off to a good start next season and face Manchester City in another title fight after a dismal 2022/23 season
It was a nightmare for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool after they narrowly missed out on a quadruple win and Champions League elimination.
But the Reds will take some solace from their strong finish to the 2022/23 campaign as they try to get back on the path to title defense next season.
Klopp’s men launched a late attack to oust Manchester United and Newcastle from the bottom two places in the top four, but narrowly failed.
But their seven-game winning streak will have boosted confidence and optimism at Anfield that they can come back strong in August.

The Reds started the 2022/23 season with a 2-2 draw against Fulham and things didn’t go much better with a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace followed by a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Although Bournemouh’s 9-0 seemed to kick into gear, Klopp’s team never really recovered. They finished fifth in the Premier League after a late swap but failed to secure Champions League qualification.

The Reds have been the only team able to truly challenge City’s dominance in recent years, with Arsenal taking their place in the running last season.
But while Klopp is still overseeing a squad overhaul, he will be confident that his squad can measure up to the defending champions as the new season begins.
Liverpool’s first six games could be crucial in lifting the mood around Anfield, while all eyes will obviously be on those crucial clashes with City, Man Utd and Everton when the match announcement drops.
