Liverpool Set to ACCEPT £30m for Player After Turning Down Initial Bid
Share
Liverpool have rejected yet another transfer proposal, but it’s unlikely to be the last one they face.
As of January 3rd, the club has already received two offers for players. The first came just before the New Year when Real Madrid made a £10m bid for Trent Alexander-Arnold, which Liverpool promptly turned down. This is notable because Alexander-Arnold can leave for free at the end of the season. The fact that Madrid was willing to offer money for him indicates they believe he will eventually make the move there, and they are simply trying to secure it early.
However, Liverpool made the right decision to decline the offer, as keeping the player provides far more value than selling him at that price. Madrid, however, is not expected to stop their pursuit, and this saga could continue throughout January and potentially beyond.
This isn’t the only rejected offer, though.
Liverpool Turn Down Ben Doak Bid
Crystal Palace recently submitted a £15m bid for Ben Doak, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough. Despite being away, Doak has impressed at Middlesbrough to the extent that Palace believes he could contribute to their squad immediately.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, who shared details on his Patreon, Liverpool swiftly rejected this offer as well. However, this is expected to be just the first offer from Palace, who are likely to come back with another bid as they view Doak as a “priority” signing. They want to secure the teenager as a replacement for Michael Olise in the summer and are prepared to invest significantly in him.
Reports from The Times suggest that Liverpool also value Doak highly, estimating his worth at double the £15m offer. In other words, they would be willing to entertain a £30m bid if it arrives.
Once again, though, the report notes this was merely an opening bid. It remains uncertain whether Palace will be willing to meet Liverpool’s valuation. If they do, Liverpool will face a significant decision.

Milos Kerkez’s decision revealed as Liverpool uncover key advantage for January transfer
Liverpool remain linked with Bournemouth’s young left-back Milos Kerkez, who has made an important decision about his future ahead of the January transfer window amid growing interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 21-year-old Hungary international joined Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar, the club previously managed by Arne Slot, during the summer of 2023. Richard Hughes, who is currently Liverpool’s sporting director, was Bournemouth’s technical director at the time, fueling the speculation linking Kerkez with a move to Anfield.
Liverpool is one of several Premier League clubs reportedly monitoring Kerkez’s progress at Bournemouth, with Manchester United also mentioned as a potential suitor. Some reports even suggest United’s interest may be more substantial.
Despite Bournemouth’s solid Premier League form, with eight wins from 19 games so far, Kerkez seems ready to leave the club, whether in January or the summer. The club is currently managed by Andoni Iraola, who has guided them to a promising start this season.
In a move that may signal a potential transfer, Kerkez has switched to a new agency, signing with Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports, which also represents Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa, who joined the Reds from Juventus in the summer.
Kerkez announced the change on Instagram, where he was officially welcomed to the agency. It remains to be seen if this shift in representation leads to any movement regarding his future, though journalist Fabrizio Romano has noted that Kerkez is one to watch ahead of the transfer window.
Liverpool currently have Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas competing for the left-back role, but both players have faced fitness and form issues at various points this season. As a result, there are ongoing rumors suggesting that the club may look to strengthen the position in the coming months
