Liverpool Transfer News: Arne Slot Set to Part Ways with 27-Year-Old in January

With the January transfer window now open, Premier League leaders Liverpool are looking to make adjustments to their squad.

Under the guidance of Arne Slot, the Reds have enjoyed an outstanding season, solidifying their position at the top of both the Premier League and Champions League standings.

Slot has revitalized the Merseyside club, and his arrival has led to some players delivering performances that are arguably the best of their careers.

However, not all players have thrived. Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, in particular, have struggled this season.

Liverpool is already exploring options to replace Nunez, while Chiesa may be allowed to return to Italy this month.

According to TBR Football, Liverpool’s manager, Slot, is open to the possibility of Chiesa leaving in January.

Although Slot holds Chiesa in high regard, he is willing to let the player move on to find more playing time and better opportunities elsewhere.

Federico Chiesa has faced difficulties at Liverpool this season

Federico Chiesa has faced difficulties at Liverpool this season.

Chiesa has had a tough time at Liverpool this season, and the Italian winger has been linked with a return to Serie A. TBR Football reports that Chiesa’s representatives have reached out to Liverpool to discuss the possibility of his departure.

Despite knowing that he is behind others in the pecking order, Chiesa is frustrated by his limited game time at Anfield, especially as those ahead of him seem irreplaceable.

Clubs from Serie A, including Napoli, Roma, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atalanta, and Fiorentina, are all interested in signing the 27-year-old, but only if they can cover most of his wages.

Chiesa’s time at Liverpool has been hindered by injuries, and his difficulty adjusting to life in England has contributed to his struggles at the club.

It could be beneficial for him to move elsewhere to get regular playing time, and a return to one of the Italian clubs could offer him that chance.

A move back to Italy would allow Chiesa to revive his career in a league where he is more comfortable.
