Liverpool transfer news: A Brazilian defender is reportedly being courted by the Reds once more, while a Bayern Munich player may depart as well.
Midweek action returns to Liverpool as the Reds take on West Ham in an attempt to advance to the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Liverpool last won this competition little under two years ago, and Jürgen Klopp would undoubtedly prefer to win many this season, starting with the League Cup, following a trophy-free season in 2022–2023.
Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United at home on Sunday would have been considered a disappointment for the team given their recent performance, but they are still only one point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal at the top of the standings. The teams are scheduled to play on Saturday; a victory would put Liverpool ahead of the pack going into Christmas.
The transfer rumours are going to pick up steam as the winter transfer window opens in only eleven days. In the coming weeks, a plethora of players will be connected to the Reds. While some of those connections may, to put it mildly, be flimsy, others will have some merit or credibility.
Lucas Beraldo (Sao Paulo)
Lucas Beraldo, 20, has been receiving great reviews in Brazil and has previously been connected to a move to Liverpool (via Fichajes). Joël Matip and Virgil van Dijk aren’t getting any younger, and Ibrahima Konaté is prone to injuries, so Jürgen Klopp will ultimately have to look ahead.
In light of Matip’s ACL tear, Beraldo is reportedly being linked to Liverpool once more, according to the Italian source TuttoJuve. According to TuttoJuve, Juventus and Arsenal are also interested in signing the defender; nevertheless, Liverpool would be the better option given Juve’s financial difficulties.
Zenit St Petersburg reportedly had a $20 million (£16 million/€18 million) offer rejected, according to Anfield Central, since Sao Paulo is seeking $22 million (£17 million/€20 million), and Leicester City is anticipated to match their demands.
According to Liverpool.com: Given that Beraldo is just 20 years old, Liverpool is unlikely to make a move and start him in the starting lineup this season. This Brazilian can be considered ‘one for the future’. Observe his progress in the coming months and consider moving next summer, but not in the winter.
Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)
Many people have long regarded Joshua Kimmich as one of the greatest players in the world because of his versatility, as he can play both defence and midfield. With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, the 28-year-old has been one of Bayern Munich’s greatest players for years, but according to German source Bild, Bayern may be willing to sell him this summer.
If Kimmich chooses not to sign an extension, Bayern will have to find a new home for the player come summer, and Liverpool is one of the teams that has been linked to a move. Bayern and Liverpool enjoy an excellent relationship; in the summer of 2020, Thiago Alcântara will move from Bavaria to Merseyside.
According to Liverpool.com, Liverpool should act quickly to get Kimmich should he indeed become available. Klopp will undoubtedly value his adaptability, and even at 28 years old, his professionalism suggests he might be a Liverpool stalwart for many years to come.

Liverpool and two other Premier League rivals are vying for the 25-year-old South American’s signature.
Douglas Luiz, a midfielder for Aston Villa, has been connected to a departure from the team in recent months.
According to a report from 90 Min, Liverpool has now entered the competition for the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who is reportedly being watched by many Premier League clubs.
It seems that Liverpool has expressed interest in signing the player should he decide to leave Aston Villa. Liverpool could use more players like the 25-year-old, who has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dependable midfielders.
Alexis Mac Allister has had to fill in as their defensive midfielder this season because they were unable to buy a quality player during the summer transfer window. The Argentine international is better suited as a number eight, and Mac Allister will be able to play for his country now that Luiz has arrived.
Luiz could finish off Jurgen Klopp’s midfield group for the foreseeable future and would be a great fit for the Liverpool midfield.
The athlete has also been connected to Manchester City and Arsenal.
The player may find the chance to play for a major club appealing, but it appears that the West Midlands club is unwilling to allow him go in January. This season, Aston Villa has been very strong, and they are trying to qualify for the Champions League. It is unclear if Liverpool will want to make a test offer in January, but they won’t want to deplete the team anytime soon
