Here’s the most recent Liverpool transfer news, as speculation over activating Dani Olmo’s release clause grows.
Liverpool hasn’t officially signed any senior players yet. The Reds are moving slowly, but they do have a new manager and sporting director, as well as two key international events.
That will slow things down.
Things should pick up shortly, though, when players return and the Reds settle into their new roles. So, here’s what’s purportedly going on behind the scenes.
Liverpool and Olmo’s release Clause
Liverpool are reportedly’ready’ to trigger a £50 million release clause before the deadline next week.
According to German outlet nd, Liverpool is one of three clubs that are’said to be ready’ to activate Dani Olmo’s release clause.
The Spaniard can be signed for £50 million, as long as a team triggers the clause before next Monday.
Olmo will play for Spain in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final against England, which will very probably block any movement for the next few days. Following that, however, things may move swiftly.
Rabiot boost for Liverpool
Adrien Rabiot is among the most well-known free agents this summer.
The 29-year-old Frenchman chose to quit Juventus when his contract expired on June 30.
The Italian giants were taken aback by this outcome, as they had attempted to renew his contract before he travelled to the European Championship with France.
Juventus had offered Rabiot a two-year agreement worth €7.5 million to €8 million per season, with an option for an additional year.
According to Tuttosport NOW, Juventus does not regard Rabiot’s re-signing as a priority this summer.
They also identify Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan as potential suitors for Rabiot, who will now focus on his future after his enthusiasm in Euro 2024 has waned.
Andre finally heads to the Premier League.
Former Liverpool target Andre Trindade is ready to make his long-awaited Premier League move this summer, with Fulham in advanced talks for the Brazilian defensive midfielder.
The Fluminense star, who won the 2023 Copa Libertadores, was heavily linked with a move to Anfield last summer and again in January.
During the winter transfer window, there were even claims that the Reds had made an offer for the five-cap Brazil international, but the move to Merseyside never materialised.
