Liverpool transfer news: Reds executives plan a January move following private conversations with injury confirmation.

Given Alexis Mac Allister’s continued absence due to injury, Liverpool may yet make a move for a new defender during the January transfer window.
As we approach the busy holiday season, Liverpool is still vying for the Premier League crown.
The team had a significant turnover in personnel over the summer, particularly in midfield where a number of players left and a number of new players joined to take their place. Dominik Szoboszlai and other players have adapted fast and helped the Reds bounce back from a disappointing campaign last year.
In the past, Jurgen Klopp has made big additions in January, and as the new year approaches, all eyes will be on their hiring. Although the German has downplayed the likelihood of more arrivals, anything can still happen. Here is Anfield’s most recent update.
Reds weigh up defender swoop
Reds consider their defence swoop
Despite Klopp ruling out a move for a new face in the backline a few weeks ago, Liverpool is willing to make a move for a defender in January.
Joel Matip’s ACL injury ended the Reds’ season, and their lack of depth at centre defence may cause problems later in the campaign. Although Liverpool has made several high-profile additions midway through the season in the past, there hasn’t been much buzz about the club making significant additions in the New Year.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool will keep an eye out for prospects and may make a move if the price is right. The transfer chiefs at Liverpool met last week to decide whether to pursue players when the window opens.
Carvalho’s struggling in Germany
After leaving Liverpool for a loan in the summer, Fabio Carvalho has had difficulty finding his best form again.
Since making the transition to RB Leipzig, minutes have proven to be scarce due to rumours that he would be called up early from his Bundesliga stint. Pep Lijnders, the number two player for Liverpool, has said that the team will act in the player’s best interests. We all know that a player with rhythm is different from a player without, so it’s crucial that he develops rhythm, he remarked.
“A player that exercises in a particular way, regardless of whether they are confident or not, is a different player. He needs to find the minutes, but our directors should talk to the club and figure out the best way to help him, not me. As he is one of our players, we all want the best for him, so we’ll have to wait and see, but no decision has been made.
Mac Allister remains Sidelined
The assistant manager at Liverpool believes that Alexis Mac Allister won’t be available until the New Year.
The Brighton summer acquisition has been sidelined since he had stitches after a rough tackle against Sheffield United earlier in the month. Later on, Mac Allister’s injury was revealed by Klopp to be “a bit more tricky than we thought”.
Afterwards, Lijnders declared, “Alexis is out of course.” We miss him as a player. It is evident that occasionally, he plays in a very hurried manner, despite being a very composed player. With Wataru stepping up and Ryan, Curt, Harvey, and Dom supporting us, we don’t miss a lot of the boys. It will continue until the New Year, but on January 1st, we play.
