Liverpool transfer roundup: PSG boss drops Kylian Mbappe hint after £170m bid
Liverpool signed Argentine world champion Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig earlier this summer

Liverpool fans were stunned on Thursday as rumors of a €200m (£170m) bid for Kylian Mbappe surfaced in the Spanish press.

The 24-year-old France international is one of the best footballers in the world, having won six Ligue 1 titles and scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final loss to Argentina last year. It is unlikely that a Premier League side would say no to such talent.

Mbappe has just one year left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain and it’s unclear whether he will extend it. The chances of Liverpool making such a colossal offer after splashing out big bucks on Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are slim… but not impossible.
Here are the latest Merseyside transfer updates and rumors…

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants Mbappé to sign a new contract, but he will sell him if he refuses. With Mbappé entering the final year of his contract, the Ligue 1 champions have only two options to sell the superstar: now or in January.

A move this big is unlikely to come mid-season, meaning it’s now or never PSG will cash in. And if Mbappe leaves the Parc des Princes, only a handful of clubs will be able to sign him. Liverpool is one of them.

Real Madrid were favorites to sign Mbappé but ruled out a transfer. Manchester United are another option for the 2018 world champions, but that transfer is subject to the ownership saga being resolved before September.

Asked about Mbappe’s future, Al-Khelaifi said: “Our position is very clear.” If Kylian Mbappe wants to stay – we want him to stay – he needs to sign a new contract. We can’t let the best player in the world go for nothing. It’s impossible.”

Agent for Chiesa in England

According to Corriere dello Sport, Italy international Federico Chiesa’s agent has traveled to England for transfer talks. As revealed by Paisley Gates, Chiesa is waiting to be given the green light for a £34million transfer from Serie A club Juventus.

Liverpool are believed to be interested in the 25-year-old, but so are Chelsea and Newcastle. Chiesa reportedly wants a salary of €5 million a year (about £82,000 a week). The winger scored 38 goals and provided 39 assists in 202 Serie A appearances.

Torino expect Liverpool to make another offer for defender Perr Schuurs, according to Tuttosport. According to Sport Witness, Jürgen Klopp would like to sign a new centre-back after signing two midfielders in Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Liverpool are already believed to have rejected a €30m (£25.6m) offer for Schuurs from Torino, who are expecting €40m (£34.2m).

The Serie A club will listen to offers from the former Dutch youth international, who still has three years left on his contract.

Schuurs has made 33 appearances for Torino since his move from Ajax for €9.4m in August. The Dutchman previously played for Fortuna Sittard and Ajax and won six honors with the latter club, including three Eredivisie titles.

Another example is Victor Osimhen, who scored just 10 goals in his debut season at Napoli despite being one of the best forwards in the world right now.

With four assists added in, Nunez’s total of 15 goals is not a bad performance in this regard for the Uruguayan forward.

But it makes sense that he will aim to increase those numbers even further the following season.

And he has the standing to continue doing just that.
Nunez frequently needs time to settle in and make adjustments before he can get going.

In his first season at Benfica and at UD Almera in Spain, he exhibited the same traits.
Nunez’s former coach at Almera, David Badia, gave an interview to Liverpool .
com last season and outlined why he persisted and never gave up in order to start scoring goals for the Spanish team on a regular basis.

Coaches adore players like him because they are open to listening and working, according to Badia.
“People you know are listening when you speak, and they don’t assume they already know everything.

He also strives to become a better player every day.
At Almera, he was seeking advice on how to perform better in training each day.
Naturally, when he missed out on some training exercises, he was unhappy about it and made efforts to change and become better each day.
That will position him well for the upcoming season.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s entrance will be one more.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold now on Liverpool’s right side, the Hungarian might be about to unleash the best of Nez in the upcoming campaign.

Szoboszlai is known for his originality and has collaborated with players who are similar to Nez in the past. He combined 12 times at Salzburg with Patson Daka, with whom he formed a terrifying trio alongside Erling Haaland. Christopher Nkunku and Andre Silva received assists at RB Leipzig thanks in large part to Szoboszlai.

For the Hungarian national team, he frequently teamed up with number nine dám Szalai, who was also a tall and athletic forward before retiring earlier this year, to score goals.

When Nez and Haaland traveled to England for large sums of money last summer, comparisons were made that weren’t fair but were nonetheless valid. Szoboszlai is able to identify both as number nines who enjoy slipping into the spaces behind them. Relationships between Szoboszlai and Haaland (and the others) show how much he enjoys having a goalscorer who is that willing to assist him.

Szoboszlai has the potential to help someone like Nez succeed because of his crossing prowess, set-piece specialization, and vision from open space to produce defense-splitting passes. The Hungarian may even be able to bring out the best in Liverpool’s most expensive summer signing by season’s end.
