Liverpool transfer update: ‘Discussions held’ with Omar Marmoush amid right-back ‘interest’

The Reds seem to be ramping up their transfer strategies for next year, with reports indicating that discussions have already occurred regarding a potential summer 2025 move to Anfield.
Liverpool might be getting closer to finding a successor for Mohamed Salah. With the Egyptian’s contract nearing its end, the club is reportedly taking steps to ensure they have a fitting replacement ready for next summer.
Several players have been mentioned recently as the 32-year-old’s future remains uncertain, but one name stands out in European reports—thanks in part to his impressive performance.
This player is Omar Marmoush, Salah’s fellow countryman, who has made a significant impact this season with 10 goals and seven assists in just 11 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt, plus another goal while on international duty with Egypt.
According to Sky Sports Deutschland, Liverpool has quickly initiated talks with Marmoush, who is said to be enthusiastic about a move to the Premier League. Although Frankfurt wants to extend his contract, the forward appears hesitant to commit. Sky Sports Deutschland notes that if Liverpool aims to secure him in January, they may need to pay up to $65 million (£50m/€60m), though this seems unlikely.
Additionally, Liverpool is reportedly preparing for the possible departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold by scouting Red Bull Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic, who has recorded four assists in 17 appearances this season.
As per Caught Offside, the Reds have sought details about the 22-year-old, who is eager to challenge himself at a higher level and is open to a Premier League opportunity soon. The Bosnia-Herzegovina international is also considered a cost-effective option, which makes him an appealing target for Liverpool. Being coached by former Reds assistant Pep Lijnders could facilitate a transfer to Anfield.

“I’m curious about his diet” – Gabriel Agbonlahor comments on Liverpool’s ‘bully’ performance against Chelsea
Gabriel Agbonlahor has expressed admiration for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, particularly highlighting his “bullying” performance against Chelsea. Salah not only scored a penalty but also assisted Curtis Jones’ winning goal, helping Liverpool stay at the top of the Premier League.
Agbonlahor, who included the 32-year-old in his TalkSPORT team of the week, was so impressed that he wanted to know Salah’s dietary and training regimen. This season, Salah has already recorded five goals and five assists in the league, maintaining a consistent presence since Slot took over as head coach.
Reflecting on Salah’s impact, Agbonlahor remarked: “Mo Salah, where do you start? The way he was bullying the Chelsea defence, I want to know what Mo Salah eats. I want to know his workouts because he is so strong. He took his penalty very well – no-nonsense, no casual run-up, run up to it and put your foot through it. Goal.”
He also praised Salah’s assist for Jones, saying, “Also, his ball for Curtis Jones’ goal was outstanding. Not many players see that and he was making these sorts of balls and passes all game. His vision is out of this world.”
Agbonlahor concluded by stating, “If it’s £450,000 a week, I don’t care what it is. They can’t afford to lose Mo Salah on a free transfer. Outstanding talent and still playing at a high level.”
