Adrian, the goalkeeper for Liverpool, has stated that he plans to leave Anfield this summer.
The custodian for Liverpool, has stated that he plans to leave Anfield this summer.
Adrian is the first player to declare his departure from the team in the wake of manager Jurgen Klopp’s likely departure.
Adrian, 37, will see his contract expire next month after five years of service, and he plans to leave the Reds.
After joining Klopp’s squad on a free transfer from West Ham, the Spaniard only made two appearances in the previous three seasons and fell to third place in the rankings.
The Spaniard became a cult figure in his first season at Anfield after briefly substituting for the injured Alisson.
In the penalty shootout that saw the Reds upset Chelsea and win the 2019 UEFA Super Cup, he again came to the rescue.
The 37-year-old hasn’t played in a competitive match since the 2022 Community Shield, though; Caoimhin Kelleher has replaced him as the backup goalie.
Adrian said, “After 11 seasons in the Premier League, I would like to return to La Liga,” in an interview with Mucho Deporte. A cycle would come to an end.
“I’m still prepared to fight. I feel fantastic for my age of 37. You are aware that everyday training provides the intensity needed to compete, especially for goalkeepers who take good care of themselves and haven’t had any major injuries recently. “I haven’t yet had a seat with Liverpool.
It is true that we will be keeping an eye on what occurs in La Liga, but I don’t rule out the possibility that we are still in communication.
Adrian is probably going to be one of several players that wind up leaving the Merseyside club at the end of the campaign.
There will be more Liverpool players leaving.
Defender Joel Matip, whose contract expires in the summer, is expected to depart from the team.
Due to an injury, the centre back has missed the majority of the season, and his time at Anfield is almost up.
Thiago Alcantara, a midfield player, is also leaving because his contract is up.
The Spaniard’s tenure with the team has been hampered by injuries, and it is anticipated that he will depart in search of a fresh opportunity somewhere.
