Liverpool’s Shock Champions League Squad Revealed for 2024-25 Liverpool’s squad for this season’s Champions League has been finalized.

Liverpool’s squad for this season’s Champions League has been finalized.

The Reds will participate in the 2024-25 tournament, which features a revised format with 36 teams each playing against eight different opponents in the group stage.

Liverpool will face Bologna, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, and Lille at Anfield, and will also play away games against AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Girona, and PSV Eindhoven.

Before their opening group match at AC Milan on September 17, the club has submitted the following squad to UEFA.*Player List A includes: Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Chiesa, Diaz, Endo, Gakpo, Gomez, Gravenberch, Hill, Jaros, Jones, Jota, Kelleher, Konate, Mac Allister, Morton, Nallo, Nunez, Nyoni, Robertson, Salah, Szoboszlai, Tsimikas, and Van Dijk.

Teams are allowed to list up to 25 players on List A, with at least eight spots designated for ‘locally trained players.’

Some senior players, such as Conor Bradley, Harvey Elliott, and Jarell Quansah, are eligible but do not need to be on List A due to their age and club-trained status. They can be added to List B, which allows for an unlimited number of players to be registered and updated before each match.

According to UEFA regulations: “A player can be added to List B if they were born on or after January 1, 2003, and have been eligible to play for the club continuously for two years since their 15th birthday, or for three consecutive years with at most one loan period to a club from the same association for no longer than one year.”

“Players aged 16 may be added to List B if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.”

Teams advancing to the knockout stages of the Champions League can make up to three changes to List A by February 6, 2025, while maintaining the total number of squad members at 25.

Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool has shared his candid thoughts on the acquisition of Federico Chiesa, following the Italian winger’s move from Juventus.

Arne Slot will focus entirely on the forthcoming games now that the summer transfer window has closed and the Reds have only signed two players.

Fans had hoped that Liverpool would try to bring in players who might help them climb back up alongside Arsenal and Manchester City, but instead, the club, like other Premier League teams, was cautious with its summer spending.

The Italian winger Chiesa, who cost an estimated £13 million to sign, is a potentially fantastic addition for the Reds even though they did not break the bank.

The 26-year-old’s prowess during Italy’s Euro-winning campaign made him one of the most sought-after wide players in the world, but he has failed to reach similar heights again following a devastating injury.

Van Dijk hailed the trade for the quick winger in an interview with The Independent prior to Liverpool’s match against Manchester United this coming weekend.

“Considering how long the season is and how many games we have, I think we could use any quality addition that will be needed. To have Chiesa coming in is a very good signing, especially for the deal that has been done,” he told The Independent.

Slot got his Liverpool career off to a perfect start on opening day, winning 2-0 against the newly promoted Ipswich Town. The following week, they defeated Brentford by the same score.
