Mohamed Salah, a star player for Liverpool, has used social media to share the details of the negotiations that ultimately led to a decision about his future with the Reds despite growing interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.

Mohamed Salah has admitted for the first time that there were genuine concerns about Liverpool extending his contract last summer.

The forward from Egypt has had several occasions where the Reds have questioned his future with the team.
In July 2022, he was looking at the exit door closer than ever.

The former Chelsea and Roma star’s contract at Anfield had 12 months left on it, and his managers were forced to decide whether to sell him or risk losing him for nothing the following summer. Salah eventually signed a new three-year contract that pledged his future to Liverpool.

But it didn’t always seem like that was the case.
The 31-year-old has divulged details of the discussions he had with Liverpool and his agent Ramy Abbas Issa as part of a Harvard study.

The first line of a document posted on Salah’s Instagram page reads: “I am starting to fear that we may not be able to come to agreement on a new contract, Mohamed – their latest offer is still very far from what we want.

The study goes on to explain that while Salah was on vacation in Egypt following his sensational 2021/22 campaign, talks were taking place. The Liverpool forward clarified his partnership with Issa, his agent, by saying: “We are partners.

I have faith that he will always act in my best interests.

The worries about the talks not coming to a satisfactory conclusion are then discussed in detail.

According to the document, Salah, who had previously been confident that his club would make a competitive offer, had to confront the possibility that his long-term future might lie with another club for the first time.

Salah also shared his perspective on the matter by outlining his goals.
I want to stay with Liverpool, but the team needs to demonstrate that they want to keep me around, too, he said.

Despite those worries, Salah eventually signed a new contract.
He is committed to Liverpool through the summer of 2025 thanks to that renewed contract.
His future is, however, still a little uncertain.

Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League was very interested in acquiring him this summer.
They made a number of significant offers for his services, with the highest being around £150 million, but Liverpool were not in the mood to negotiate.

Since that interest, the 31-year-old has been in superb shape. Salah has four goals and the same number of assists in seven games for Liverpool across all competitions this season.
With the opening goal against West Ham in the Premier League, he continued this electric form.

Liverpool’s appreciation for the $100 million Premier League star is explained by Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool's appreciation for the $100 million Premier League star is explained by Fabrizio Romano.

Bruno Guimaraes, a midfielder for Newcastle United, is about to agree to a new £100 million contract, and Fabrizio Romano has revealed the extent of Liverpool’s interest in him.

The transfer expert revealed that Guimaraes is a target for the Reds in the summer while speaking to CaughtOffisde.
Liverpool insiders are huge fans of the Brazilian international.

The 25-year-old is currently set to sign a new long-term contract with Newcastle, though it may include a £100 million release clause, so the Anfield team ultimately missed out on signing Guimaraes.

Indeed, Guimaraes would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool’s midfield, and Romano’s remarks suggest that a transfer may be in the works after the Brazilian agrees to a new contract.

While they are content with their current midfield, Romano said: “Some fans have also asked me about Bruno and Liverpool transfer rumors.

“However, I can say that Bruno Guimaraes is highly regarded by those close to Jurgen Klopp and has long been well-liked at Liverpool.
Right now, there is nothing else to say.

Liverpool must make use of any potential Guimaraes clause.

Since joining Newcastle, Guimaraes has established himself as one of the top midfielders in the Premier League, and the South American may soon move on to Liverpool.

By agreeing to a contract with a release clause, Guimaraes is giving Newcastle the option to sell him for a significant profit; if the final price is £100 million, Liverpool will have to profit.

Additionally, based on the Premier League season’s early indications, Guimaraes might want to move if Newcastle doesn’t make it to Europe next season
