News on Liverpool FC’s manager: Ruben Amorim’s claim, links to Niko Kovac, and current odds

Niko Kovac is a surprising contender to be the next Liverpool manager, while there have also been rumours of conversations with Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim.
As of right now, Liverpool has not revealed who they will name as manager when Jurgen Klopp steps down at the end of the campaign.
With five games remaining and still undefeated, Xabi Alonso guided Bayer Leverkusen to their first-ever Bundesliga title over the weekend, but the Spaniard has already ruled out a move to Anfield.
Because of this, the rumours have persisted, with Niko Kovac and Ruben Amorim making headlines.
Niko Kovac in Liverpool manager’s list?
The surprising inclusion of former Wolfsburg, Monaco, and Bayern Munich coach Kovac on the Liverpool management roster is a noteworthy development.
According to David Kent of the Mail, who is citing these stories, the 52-year-old is “under consideration” for the position following a “rigorous research process.”
Since March, when Wolfsburg, a 14th-place team in the Bundesliga, fired Kovac due to a 3-1 loss to Augsburg, which prolonged his team’s winless streak to 11 games, Kovac has remained unemployed.
The fact that Kovac’s representatives have “sounded out Premier League clubs” in Kent’s story is indicative of how unlikely it is that he could succeed Klopp.
Put otherwise, he is seeking employment!
Is Ruben Amorim the “only name” taken into account?
Pedro Sepulveda, a Portuguese journalist, asserted on Monday in a since-deleted tweet that Sporting CP boss Amorim was currently the “only name on Liverpool’s table.”
It was emphasised that discussions had been had with Amorim’s representative rather than the coach, and that Sporting had not yet been contacted.
A wrinkle was added to the story on Monday by David Ornstein of The Athletic during an interview with NBC Sports, regarding Sepulveda’s removal of those assertions from social media.
Ornstein clarified, “I understand that even though he’s a candidate, he’s not a shoe-in for this job.” “He’s not the best choice by any means.”
most recent Liverpool next manager odds
Although English media are divided about whether 39-year-old Amorim is the front-runner, the man is still the pick of bookies.
Amorim is a clear favourite to become the new manager of Liverpool, according to the most recent odds, which are as low as 1/3.
Despite rumours that he has been eliminated, Roberto De Zerbi (11/1) is still the second favourite. Julian Nagelsmann (15/1) is also in the running because of rumours that he is nearing a reunion with Bayern.
Though they all seem doubtful, Thiago Motta (15/1), Thomas Tuchel (21/1), and Gary O’Neil (24/1) are also mentioned.
It’s interesting to note that there are now no odds available for Kovac to replace Klopp.
