The Liverpool team will undergo a great deal of upheaval this summer. What do you want the summer to bring?

I’m most eager to put a stop to all the transfer rumors and determine who will be on the team for the upcoming season. First and foremost, I hope they move fast to complete the acquisition of Alexis MacAllister, who will be the pivotal player in the midfield for the upcoming campaign. We’re learning additional details about two other suspected prospects who are probably moving on to other opportunities: Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte. Whether it’s Ryan Gravenberch or someone else, I believe Liverpool can still entice other desirable targets. Khéphren Thuram is still someone I really want to see in Liverpool.

As they need to ensure they sign midfielders who can play in each of the roles — the attacking midfielder (replacing Henderson), the left-sided midfielder (to rotate with Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcântara), and the defensive midfielder (Fabinho will need rest, and there are questions surrounding Stefan Bajeti given his age), three midfield players in that mold give Liverpool options and flexibility.

The next major need is at center defense, and I’m not sure if they should give the left or right side more priority given how well Andy Robertson has done in the new tactical system. Nevertheless, a left-sided center back would be a welcome addition. Ibou Konaté is essential to the system that enables Trent to go into midfield, but he can’t play in every game, therefore Liverpool needs to have depth there.

What do you envision for the upcoming season? Do you think Liverpool has the best chance of reclaiming the league’s top spot from Manchester City?

Liverpool and Manchester City should resume their regular title-duel rivalry, in my opinion. Liverpool is the only team capable of outlasting City in the limited capacity that it is viable to oppose them. Arsenal had a fantastic season, but it ran out of gas; they won’t reach 90 points. So long as no other side can score 90 points, City and Liverpool are my picks.

Being eliminated from the Champions League is devastating because they always have a chance to win it. However, the Europa League will be competitive and, at the very least, important in providing extra playing time to help a team with several new players gel. Finally, I believe they’ll challenge for the league championship, and I am eager for the new season to begin.

Liverpool has already signed the ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who can contribute next season.

Liverpool’s comeback over the last several months of the season has primarily been attributed to Jürgen Klopp’s smart move to move Trent Alexander-Arnold into a more central midfield role in order to establish dominance in the middle.

With his keen sense of the game and inventive passing, Alexander-Arnold has excelled in that position, highlighting his strengths both on and off the ball and allowing him to cut through defenders like a hot knife through butter.

In addition, he has consistently recorded the most passes completed per game for Liverpool, forcing the opposition to chase after red shirts and their shadows.

But Liverpool has other candidates that are equally qualified for this position as Alexander-Arnold. Should Alexander-Arnold require a break or sustain an injury, Klopp already has the perfect backup ready to go in Calvin Ramsay.

The Scotsman’s debut season with the Reds hasn’t quite allowed him to show off his skills. Even before there were speculations tying him to a move to Anfield, Liverpool.com noted his suitability for the club due to his uncanny resemblance to Alexander-Arnold’s playing style when at Aberdeen.

Ramsay has displayed glimmers of his ability while wearing a red shirt for Liverpool. In his first game for the club’s U21 team, he scored, and on his third start, he added another. At the academy level, he scored two goals overall in just five games.

However, his lone League Cup debut for Liverpool’s first team against Derby County may have been the best example of his skill.

Ramsay played the full-back position that evening with a level of excellence that would have made Alexander-Arnold proud. Additionally, he did so in a more prominent way and in the same manner as Alexander-Arnold at the moment.

In that game against Derby, Ramsay completed two of his three dribbles, won two of his three defensive duels, and completed 107 passes out of 114 attempts, including 19 passes towards the final third and six into the penalty area.

Only once this season, when he was playing in a more central midfield position against Leeds United, has Alexander-Arnold been able to complete more passes than Ramsay. The Reds’ 6-1 victory also applies to passes into the final third, as Alexander-Arnold completed 20 of them.

Alexander-Arnold has averaged between 10 and 20 passes into the final third of the field per game since assuming his new position. Ramsay’s ability to put up these figures while playing a more ‘traditional’ full-back is impressive.

Despite the fact that it is only a tiny sample against Championship-caliber competition, Ramsay’s future at Liverpool appears bright if Klopp decides to keep Alexander-Arnold in his new position.

If Ramsay can avoid his injury issues, there is no reason why he wouldn’t be able to pick up the Alexander-Arnold role and make it his own. Ramsay hasn’t had a great season with injuries, which has made him nearly forgotten around Anfield circles.

He is equipped to play there with equal effectiveness, and over time, he will integrate in well with Klopp’s team.

They are still entirely to our rear. That is really cool. The better you act in a crisis, the better you come out of it, and I genuinely believed that was the case for us, so there’s really nothing [new to learn].

“Once more, we are quite unhappy about it. I must also stress that missing out on the Champions League is a huge disappointment for a club like ours. But throughout the course of the following few years, we’ll see how many teams are currently competing for that and putting up a fight to be included when they won’t be.

“That would be simpler, but we still need to complete this task, so we’ll do our best. We must revert to being the team that no one wants to play against us against if we are to develop.

“I believe that some teams were excited to play us in several games this season, and I believe that is the worst thing that can happen to you. I detested these times. However, that is now over, so let’s begin over.

At St. Mary’s, Liverpool took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino before getting goals from James Ward-Prowse and Kamaldeen Sulemana just before halftime.

The Saints subsequently took the lead thanks to Sulemana, and after an hour, Adam Armstrong made it 4-2 for them. However, Cody Gakpo and Jota scored two goals in as many minutes to tie the score once more in a fun end-of-season match.

When the score reached 2-2 and 4-2, we suddenly began acting in the way we had intended to from the beginning. After that, it was more or less fantastic, and we were within striking distance of a fifth or sixth.

Despite Jürgen Klopp’s admission about transfers, Liverpool possesses “exceptional” talent that has yet to be unlocked.

Liverpool must make a choice about Fábio Carvalho’s future, but it is not as easy as it seems. Jürgen Klopp has many good reasons to keep him.

When Fábio Carvalho came to Anfield as Fulham’s outstanding player in the Championship last season, it was hardly the year he would have been dreaming of.

In retrospect, a one-year loan with his old team might have been the best option. Carvalho has not played in many games for Liverpool, but under Marco Silva, he would have seen plenty of action for a squad that, up until Aleksandar Mitrovi’s lengthy suspension, was cruising in the Premier League and finished in the top half.

Carvalho, who is attracting interest from other teams and could leave this summer in search of more playing time, was mentioned by Jürgen Klopp during his final press conference of the season. Given that it has only been a year since his much-publicized move from Craven Cottage, it is not shocking that he is weighing his options.

Carvalho simply hasn’t played as much as he would have liked, but there are a few things worth pointing out.

To begin with, Liverpool should simply permit a loan period. Despite not playing much this season, Carvalho still has a lot of skill. There is a good reason why the Reds were so eager to sign him, and there are many other players who have had to adjust over time.

Any concept of permanently selling him would be a folly, not least because a year-long loan would increase his worth; only a short exit would make financial sense. It would be foolish to cash in while his stock is down.

However, there is a case to be made for Carvalho to continue working for another year first. If his place in the lineup does not change throughout the first half of the following season, he might even elect to leave on a loan in January.

“Fábio, for the situation in which he is now, in training on an absolutely super level and not being involved, how he deals with it, I have to say, that’s kind of a role model,” Klopp said last month.

He may not be content with the circumstances, but he never gives up. It’s incredible. Although the character he displays here is remarkable, I don’t believe it was his strongest skill before he came to this place because he was and is a super-super talent.

However, those possibilities might still materialize. He was undoubtedly acquired with replacement squad possibilities like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keta in mind.

His skill set is ideal for the more aggressive number eight positions, and as Curtis Jones has demonstrated over the past few weeks, when the squad is positioned to play to your strengths, things can change very fast.

Next year, Liverpool will also participate in the Europa League. Carvalho had opportunities during the current Champions League group stage, and he would undoubtedly get more of a look-in against inferior competition.

The Reds will also hope that they do not receive early-round domestic cup draws against Manchester City or Brighton. Carvalho participated in the game for 45 minutes against the first opponent but was not selected for the second opponent.

If he had more good fortune, he might end up being similar to Takumi Minamino, a player who was instrumental in helping his team win the domestic double. Carvalho and Minamino differ in that the former is still young enough that a season like that would be the platform he needs to advance rather than the platform for an exit.

It makes sense that Carvalho could be thinking about his role at Liverpool, but hasty judgment should be avoided. The 20-year-old has plenty of talent and time on his side to pull it off.
