Up-to-date Arsenal news and rumours: a former player for the Premier League has predicted that the Gunners will win the title game against Man City.
Dietmar Hamann, a former midfielder in the Premier League, has predicted the outcome of Liverpool vs. Manchester City, that it would go well for Arsenal.
The Gunners trail leaders Liverpool by two points and second-place Man City by one point heading into this weekend’s games in the Premier League. On Saturday, Arsenal will play Brentford, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
With a win, Mikel Arteta’s club would lead the league standings going into Sunday’s match between Liverpool and Man City at Anfield. Arsenal will be keen to capitalise when they play Brentford the day before because they are aware that at least one of their championship competitors will give up points this weekend.
Hamann, a former player for both Liverpool and Manchester City, believes that his former teams will split the points on Sunday. The former midfield player has picked a 2-2 draw at Anfield, which would give Arsenal the chance to take the lead in the standings following the weekend.
“Liverpool vs. Manchester City is huge, not to forget Arsenal who are still involved to make it a three-horse race for the first time in the best part of ten years,” Hamann said in an interview with BoyleSports, which provides the most recent Premier League odds.
“I think Liverpool has a decent record versus Manchester City at Anfield in recent years. If City lose, it won’t be over, but it would be a major victory for Liverpool.
“I can’t wait for the 50,000 people to be cheering them on from the Anfield Road stand, which is now open. My prediction is 2-2.
Arsenal will still have a number of important Premier League games to play following the weekend’s international break. There are still matches against Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, in addition to the Gunners’ trip to the Etihad Stadium to play Man City.

In response to Arsenal’s “crazy” request, Ian Wright predicts Liverpool vs. Manchester City.
Ian Wright, the former captain of Arsenal, is hoping that both Liverpool and Manchester City lose on Sunday in their pivotal Premier League title matchup.
Legendary Premier League goal scorer Ian Wright has offered his predictions for Liverpool vs. Manchester City, the forthcoming title match, at Anfield.
Darwin Núñez’s last-minute goal gave Liverpool a thrilling 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest going into the game. They now lead City by four points in the league standings after their win.
The incumbent champions, however, were able to narrow the deficit to just one point following their 3-1 triumph against United in the Manchester derby at Etihad.
However, more teams than simply these two are vying for the championship. With a 6-0 thumping of Sheffield United, Arsenal maintained their strong run. This was their eighth straight league victory, during which they had scored 31 goals.
Arsenal, who are now two points behind Liverpool, can move up to the top if they defeat Brentford late on Saturday. However, when Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Man City square off on Sunday, all eyes will be on Merseyside.
Wright, a legend at Arsenal, will be keeping a careful eye on things. He made light of his aspirations for the big game before revealing his forecast for the result.
He made the following joke on the Kelly and Wrighty Show: “I just got a strange thought. Is it possible for them to lose together? That thought crossed my mind. Please let them both lose for Arsenal.
“However, when you consider it from Liverpool’s perspective, is it at the Etihad? It’s located at Anfield! At this point, I would prefer Liverpool, therefore I would settle with them.”
Ian Wright has frequently expressed some affection for Liverpool. When Klopp declared earlier in the year that he would be departing Liverpool at the end of the campaign, the former striker acknowledged that he had a soft place for the reds
He said: “People say I’m a closet Liverpool fan and if shock and sadness says I’m a closet (fan) then I am because I was quite sad to hear the news.”
“After the declaration, you would actually take him seriously. He appeared exhausted and spoke of tiredness. It truly is depressing.”
According to Liverpool.com. Wrighty, I’m sorry, but you can’t have both teams lose, according to Liverpool.com. Nevertheless, considering how close things are at the top, Arsenal might still win this weekend.
A draw at Anfield would leave Liverpool and Arsenal even on points, if the Gunners defeat Brentford. However, Mikel Arteta’s team has a better goal differential and would consequently take the lead. An additional explanation for why Liverpool needs to win this weekend.
