Reality of Mohamed Salah going to Saudi Arabia emerges amid Liverpool transfer rumours and a $164 million’meeting’

Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with a deal that would cost $164m and there have also been rumors of Saudi interest in Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have far higher priorities than signing another striker this summer, having signed Darwin Núñez from Benfica last summer and Cody Gakpo from PSV in January.
However, that doesn’t mean the rumors will go away. In recent days, Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Juventus striker Federico Chiesa is of interest to Liverpool and even has an opening offer of around $44m (£34m/£40m) near publication stands (millions of euros). to the winger.
Now another Serie A big name has been named in connection with Liverpool, although that seems even more unlikely given the sums at stake.
In any case, with five experienced forwards (and Luis Díaz and Diogo Jota, who will hopefully stay fit next season), Liverpool’s side look pretty well equipped in the attacking areas barring a surprise exit.
Rising Ben Doak must also be considered when it comes to not blocking the way for even younger players as Liverpool need to make room for the departure of the Scotland international and others.
Victor Osimhen (Napoli)
Liverpool have been named as one of several clubs who could sign Osimhen from Napoli this summer. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported that Manchester United, Chelsea and the Reds all have games scheduled with the Nigerian.
Osimhen is expected to make a permanent move this summer and is expected to finalize the three clubs’ ‘intentions’ next week. Gianluca di Marzio reports that Napoli are close to soliciting offers worth $164m (£129m/€150m) for the player.
Liverpool.com says: A striker is not a priority for Liverpool this summer and at $164m the Reds won’t be dealing with Osimhen. The player is world-class, but Liverpool need more midfielders and a defender. Spending that much money is simply unrealistic, even if the 24-year-old is a huge talent.
Mohamed Salah in Saudi Arabia? A transfer from Liverpool is not on Mohamed Salah’s agenda. As the Guardian points out: “No club in Saudi Arabia has been linked to this possible move, but it doesn’t matter if there is money at stake.”
Nearly every player in Europe will be linked to a move to the region if Saudi officials deposit money, with Rúben Neves proving it’s not just the over-30s who can make the move if the money on offer is large enough.
As Football Insider says, Salah will stay at Anfield. There is another Mohamed Salah who has just signed for a Saudi club (which has caused some confusion among some of his new team mates as we’ve discussed here), but the Liverpool version doesn’t make any sense.
“We hope Bernardo Silva will come from Manchester City,” Saudi Pro League official Hafez Al-Medlej said this week. “We also need to start working on signing Mohamed Salah because he is hugely popular in the Arab world and in Europe. I think Salah has some records to break at Liverpool so I hope if he doesn’t come now he will.” in the future.”
Liverpool.com says: Salah still has a lot to do at Liverpool. He’s already making a ton of money on his new contract and while Saudi Arabia could be an option in the future, the Egyptian won’t be leaving Anfield any time soon.

Liverpool’s plan to steal Tottenham’s move for £60m Bundesliga player; Man Utd, Newcastle are also interested
Liverpool have reportedly “asked to be kept informed” about the future of Tottenham-linked Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Edmond Tapsoba.
The 24-year-old striker has been linked for two years with a move to the Premier League. Now it seems that he can finally move.
It’s no secret that Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his defense next season. Indeed, the recent performances of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have caused the manager to scan the market for defenders. For example, Liverpool have been “in talks” with Bayern Munich star Benjamin Pavard.
The French international can play at right-back or centre-back and is keen to join a Premier League club this summer.
However, the Reds have yet to make a concrete offer for Pavard. Then they could potentially turn their attention to Tapsoba.
As mentioned, Tottenham Hotspur also have the Burkina Faso national team on their radar. Ange Postecoglou wants to sign two centre-backs this summer, with Tapsoba believed to be his main target.
However, he won’t come cheap as Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly given him a valuation of £60million.
Tottenham ‘cautious’ about Liverpool interest in Tapsoba
According to 90Min, Tottenham are ‘cautious’ ahead of their move as Tapsoba could be kidnapped.
The report claims that one of the clubs who could potentially opt for the defender is Liverpool. Manchester United and Newcastle have also been “informed of Tapsoba’s situation”.
With that in mind, Tapsoba’s move to Tottenham is far from over, although he is ‘ready’ to join them this summer. Clement Lenglet is unlikely to be brought back on board at Spurs after a mixed spell on loan from Barcelona. Elsewhere, Postecoglou will reportedly be hearing offers for Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies.
Tapsoba made 47 appearances in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last season. In doing so, he helped his team to 13 clean sheets and scored two goals.
He is a versatile player and can play as both a defensive midfielder and central defender. This allows him to provide coverage in multiple positions.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool make a concrete offer for Tapsoba. If they do, Tottenham will only fear more that their deal could fall through.
