The father of Luis Daiz has commented on the rumours that the forward for Liverpool is connected to Barcelona.

Following their kidnapping, the Colombian winger’s parents gained notoriety among Liverpool supporters and the football community at large. After being freed from captivity a little more than a week ago, Diaz’s father witnessed his son score twice in an emotional victory over Brazil on Friday morning.

Due to his impressive performances, there have been surprising rumours that Barcelona is interested in signing the Liverpool forward. When questioned about the possibility of his son transferring to Barcelona in the future, Diaz’s father acknowledged that he has always been a fan of the Catalan giants.

“To be honest, I don’t know much about Barcelona right now,” Diaz Sr. said to Win Sports, according to Sport Witness. It’s true that Luis adores Barcelona, and visiting the city is his dream. I want to express my gratitude to Porto and Liverpool for their kind reception and welcome of him thus far.

“Thank God, Luis is a very disciplined player who is easy to like and respect because of the way he is, his work ethic, humility, and determination. Since Barcelona is a premier team and among the greatest in the world, there would be no issues if Luis joined.

Liverpool finds out what Kylian Mbappe demands, after Real Madrid ends interest in a move.

Real Madrid has been strongly linked to signing Kylian Mbappe, but they have apparently given up on the attacker because of the high cost of doing so.

As Kylian Mbappe’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer of 2020, the attacker will become free to sign with another team.

Any attempt to get Mbappe, though, will not come cheaply because of his enormous signing fee and bumper weekly income. The 24-year-old has been strongly connected to Real Madrid, and it was anticipated that he would play at the Bernabeu the following season.

The forward’s wage demands are reportedly too expensive for the La Liga giants to continue pursuing, though. Liverpool has been interested in signing Mbappe since 2017, according to a report earlier this month from the French publication L’Equipe.

Furthermore, according to rumours from Spain, the Reds are currently in the “best position” to finalise a deal for him. Mbappe is reportedly seeking a yearly salary of €35 million (£30.5 million) after taxes and a signing bonus of over €100 million (£87 million), according to AS and Sport Witness.

As his agent, Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari is a die-hard Liverpool supporter, and the player has already disclosed that he had discussions about relocating to Anfield before to joining PSG. “We had a brief but meaningful conversation last year,” he said to the Telegraph.

“We had a brief conversation. Liverpool is my mother’s favourite team, therefore that’s why I spoke with them. You’ll have to ask her why I have no idea! We met them five years ago, and they are a terrific club. They were with me in Monaco. The club is large.”

Additionally, Mbappe is adored by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who expressed this to RMC Sport in 2018 before the team’s Champions League matchup with PSG: “I love him, to be honest.” He’s a genuinely good child, just look at him, what a nice youngster and footballer he is.
