Trent's ownership bid

Trent Alexander-Arnold is nearing a €140 million deal, as reported by the French newspaper L’Equipe.

The 25-year-old right-back has had an outstanding start to the season, with ongoing speculation about a free transfer to Real Madrid when his contract expires in the summer.

He is now interested in pursuing club ownership, targeting Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, according to L’Equipe on Friday.

The ownership bid of Trent

After exploring a buyout of AS Saint-Etienne, Trent and his family shifted their focus to FC Nantes. The report indicates that Michael Arnold, Trent’s father and manager of his son’s interests through a London-based investment firm, is keen on the French sports market.

This follows Kylian Mbappe and his family becoming shareholders in Ligue 2 club SM Caen over the summer. Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), also considered purchasing Girondins de Bordeaux but withdrew due to the uncertain financial situation in French football, with Bordeaux now in the fourth division.

Nantes is owned by Waldemar Kita, who is facing growing tensions with the fans. Kita has held a video conference with the English group and met with their legal representative. A verbal offer was made, consisting of €80 million upfront, €20 million later, and up to €40 million in potential bonuses.

Although Kita initially agreed to an external audit of the club in another meeting, he has since retracted this and has not indicated any willingness to accept the proposed offer.

L’Equipe also noted that Nantes’ owner is ‘furious’ about the media leak and has decided to terminate discussions.

Additionally, James Pearce, Liverpool’s reporter for The Athletic, claims the report is inaccurate.

Trent has been impressive this season, but Liverpool fans are becoming anxious as his contract approaches its end. He, along with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, all have contracts expiring this summer, and none have renewed yet.

“Rio Ngumoha Shined Brightly on Liverpool Debut”

Rio Ngumoha Shined Brightly on Liverpool Debut

Liverpool’s young talent Rio Ngumoha made his debut for the Reds following his transfer from Chelsea this summer.

Regarded as one of England’s most promising young players, Ngumoha got his first taste of action for Liverpool U18s during their 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday morning, coming on as a substitute.

The young Liverpool side had a lackluster performance against Blackburn and fell behind just a minute after halftime.

Ngumoha entered the game with just over twenty minutes remaining, showcasing his speed, skill, and direct play almost immediately. The winger advanced the ball from deep, demonstrated impressive pace to outmaneuver his defender, and delivered a precise cross with his left foot, which nearly led to an equalizer for Liverpool. This moment was his first in a Liverpool shirt and marked the standout highlight of the match for the Reds.

Blackburn found it difficult to manage Ngumoha for the rest of the game, leading to several fouls against the 16-year-old when he was at full speed, including an incident where Ngumoha had to confront one of the offenders.

Blackburn sealed their victory with a late goal after Liverpool’s goalkeeper Bailey Hall made a costly mistake near the end, despite having kept Liverpool in the game for most of it.

Ngumoha is expected to play against AC Milan in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday.

Michael Edwards in charge of Ngumoha signing

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool’s Chief Executive Michael Edwards played a crucial role in persuading Ngumoha to switch from Chelsea to Liverpool, even though the 16-year-old was initially inclined to remain at the London club.

Despite Chelsea’s assurances about a clear path to the first team, it appears the club was slow to provide a detailed plan for Ngumoha. By the time he realized this, Liverpool had already presented a well-defined strategy for his integration into the first team.

Although this signing may not have garnered significant media attention, it has certainly made waves within the academy community, highlighting Ngumoha’s potential for a bright future.
