South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley Shares Emotional Response to Steph Curry’s Support

South Carolina Star MiLaysia Fulwiley Has Powerful 4-Words for Steph Curry Support

In a heartwarming display of support, Golden State Warriors icon Steph Curry made headlines before his March 20 game against the Toronto Raptors. As he walked through the tunnel, Curry wore a shirt featuring South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball standout MiLaysia Fulwiley.

SportsCenter shared a photo on X, captioning it, “The Chef knows who’s about to be cookin’ up some madness 🔥.” The tweet quickly gained traction, with the image going viral and surpassing 400,000 views within 24 hours. The post read, “Steph Curry pulled up to the Warriors game reppin’ MiLaysia Fulwiley 😮‍💨.”

While Curry’s show of support wasn’t entirely unexpected—after all, he signed Fulwiley to his Curry Brand under Under Armour last March, making her the first collegiate NIL athlete to join his brand—it was a poignant reminder of their connection just one day before the Gamecocks began their pursuit of back-to-back NCAA National Championships.

On Friday, Dawn Staley’s squad delivered a dominant 108-48 victory over Tennessee Tech, marking the most points South Carolina has ever scored in an NCAA tournament game. Fulwiley contributed 15 points and an impressive 4 blocks in the win.

After the game, WACH Fox reporter Jared Parker asked Fulwiley about Curry’s gesture of support. The young athlete couldn’t hide her emotions, stating, “It’s a blessing, man,” adding, “When I seen it, I couldn’t really say nothing. I almost cried, honestly.”

She continued, “Just seeing how I grew up, and where I come from, nobody where I come from, that would never happen to them. So I’m just proud of myself for keep going, trusting the process, and just locking in, because other great people will be on notice like Steph, and I’m just blessed, honestly. I mean, I seen it and I couldn’t believe it.”

It’s truly special to see how deeply Fulwiley was touched by such a powerful gesture from Curry, the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.
