Mohamed Salah has scored in seven consecutive Premier League matches and will aim to extend that streak when Liverpool faces Everton on Saturday.

Alan Shearer has endorsed Salah’s chances of breaking Jamie Vardy’s Premier League scoring streak record. The Egyptian winger has found the net in seven straight league games and needs to score in five more to surpass Vardy, who set the record in 2015 by breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s previous streak.

Vardy, now 37, scored in 11 consecutive matches during Leicester City’s title-winning 2015/16 season, surpassing van Nistelrooy’s 10-match run. His goals came against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Stoke, Arsenal, Norwich, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Watford, Newcastle, and Manchester United.

Salah, now on a seven-match streak, is closing in on Vardy’s record. He began his run with a goal against Chelsea and has followed it up with goals against Arsenal, Brighton, Aston Villa, Southampton, Manchester City, and Newcastle.

Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, believes Salah can break Vardy’s record. Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures include matches against Everton, Fulham, Tottenham, Leicester, and West Ham.

Shearer told Betfair: “As a player, when you’re on a run like Salah is, you feel pretty unstoppable. I’ve been in that position myself, and you just can’t wait for the next game to come around.

“You don’t go out there hoping you’re going to score, you go out knowing that you’re going to score. Standing in that tunnel before a game when you’re in red-hot form, it’s a great feeling, believe me.”

“It wouldn’t surprise me to see him break Jamie Vardy’s Premier League scoring streak record, especially with the form he’s in, the player he is, and the chances that Liverpool create. With the Christmas and New Year period full of matches, it’s a great time for him.”

“Can he break the record? I wouldn’t put it past him, he’s that good of a footballer.”

Liverpool’s contract offer has displeased key player, who may now depart in the summer

Liverpool are currently grappling with contract issues concerning several of their players.

At the forefront of these concerns are Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, all of whom are entering the final year of their contracts.

Their long-term futures at Anfield remain in question, and with the start of the new year, these players will have the opportunity to negotiate pre-contract agreements with other clubs.

Another Liverpool player now facing questions about his future at the club is Luis Diaz.

Reports from Colombia suggest that discussions between Liverpool and Diaz regarding a new contract are not progressing smoothly.

According to Colombian outlet Antenna 2, Diaz’s future at the club remains uncertain, as the offer Liverpool made was not well received by the Colombian international.

The club’s offer was far from what Diaz expected, which could potentially lead to his departure at the end of the season.

Despite this, negotiations will continue with Diaz over a new contract, and Liverpool are determined to finalize it soon. However, a failure to reach an agreement could see him leave the club in 2025.

The 27-year-old has been one of the standout players this season for Arne Slot’s side, contributing to the team’s success with 17 wins out of the 19 matches played so far.

While things are going well on the pitch for Liverpool, off-the-field issues, particularly the future of some of their players, are proving problematic.

Liverpool have mishandled the contract situation

It is quite surprising to see a club as well-managed as Liverpool struggling to secure new deals for their players.

Alongside Salah, Van Dijk, and Alexander-Arnold, Diaz is a key figure for the club’s ambitions of winning silverware in the future.

Losing any of these players next year would deal a significant blow to the project that Slot is building at Anfield.

Among all the players, Caoimhin Kelleher is the one most likely to be sold by the club next summer.

Alan Shearer Reveals the FOUR Liverpool Stars Who Shocked Manchester United in His Team of the Week! Liverpool have climbed to joint-first place

Liverpool have climbed to joint-first place in the Premier League after a convincing 3-0 win over Manchester United.

Following the victory, Steven Gerrard sent a message to Trent Alexander-Arnold, praising him for his role in securing another impressive win against their rivals.

Chris Sutton had forecasted a Liverpool win over Manchester United, and that prediction proved accurate for Arne Slot and his squad.

Luis Diaz scored twice, and Mohamed Salah added a third goal as Liverpool defeated the Red Devils in Manchester with ease.

Liverpool now holds nine points from their first three games, matching the record of only reigning champions Manchester City.

Alan Shearer included four Liverpool players in his Team of the Week following the latest Premier League matches, with manager Slot also receiving recognition.

Shearer highlighted Virgil van Dijk, remarking, “Another immense performance by Liverpool’s captain.”

He also praised midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, noting, “With all the talk about Liverpool needing a midfielder, Gravenberch has stepped up massively. He won possession several times and was a forward threat.”

Attackers Salah and Diaz were also featured, with Shearer commenting on Salah: “He just loves this fixture. Two assists, another goal, could have had a hat-trick. Hopefully, it won’t be his last match at Old Trafford.”

Of Diaz, Shearer said: “A livewire from the start. Manchester United couldn’t cope with his pace or skill, and he capped off an excellent display with a brace.”

Shearer also named Slot his manager of the week, praising his start at Liverpool: “He’s got Liverpool almost perfectly tuned after only three matches in charge.”

Liverpool impressed across the board against Manchester United, who have had a rocky start to the season.

Historically, this fixture has been challenging for Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp experienced in his final season, with the previous league encounters ending in draws and Manchester United eliminating Liverpool from the FA Cup.

However, there were no issues this time for Slot and his team, who delivered a highly professional performance.

Defensively, Alisson was crucial in maintaining a clean sheet, while his defenders were focused and effective.

Gravenberch excelled in Manchester, alongside his midfield partners, while the attackers showcased another formidable performance.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer agree on next Liverpool's manager after Jurgen Klopp depart

The two think that Xabi Alonso, a former Reds midfielder, might be the person to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is a possibility to return to Anfield, according to Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.

After spending five years on Merseyside, the Spaniard began managing Real Madrid’s youth team in 2018. He later managed Real Sociedad’s B team before taking over at German team Bayer Leverkusen more than a year ago.

His team has won nine of their ten Bundesliga games thus far, with their most recent victory coming over Hoffenheim on the road this past weekend, 3-2. Additionally, he led Die Schwarzroten to the Europa League semifinals the previous year and they have won all three of their matches so far in this year’s competition.

    Xabi Alonso

Given that the Reds are also undefeated in Group E, it is possible that Jurgen Klopp and Alonso will reunite during the tournament’s later stages. Klopp is hoping to add the one trophy that has eluded him in his eight years at Anfield.

With his previous contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, Klopp, 56, signed a new deal with Liverpool in 2022, extending his stay until the summer of 2026. Beyond that, though, Alonso, the winner of the Champions League, has been mentioned by both Lineker and Shearer as a possible successor to Klopp in the future.

Shearer stated on the podcast The Rest Is Football: “He’s getting great reviews, isn’t he? He’s had a great start to his managerial and coaching career. If he continues on, it won’t be long until people begin to observe him if they haven’t already, and you never know.”

“I think there’s every chance that Carlo Ancelotti ends up there as manager of a certain Jude Bellingham once he walks away or is pushed out, as is often the case at Real Madrid,” Lineker stated. Furthermore, he may follow (Jurgen) Klopp in the future. You always do with these things, don’t you? Steven Gerrard will always be there.”

Shearer said, “That might all change in a year,” to wrap up the discussion. However, it appears that he will stay at the top for a very long time, doesn’t he?”

Expert: Liverpool’s demand for Mohamed Salah will be “100%” accepted; “it’s happening.”

Mohamed Salah moving from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia in 2024 is “inevitable,” according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former striker for Aston Villa stated that while Jurgen Klopp won’t be pleased to lose him, it might be “good business” for the Merseysiders.

Monday, October 30, Football Insider reported that despite continued Saudi interest, Liverpool will not sell their 31-year-old top player, Mohamed Salah, in January.

The Saudi Pro League is reportedly working behind the scenes to recruit forward and Man City star Kevin De Bruyne to the Middle East in the summer of 2024, insiders have also told Football Insider.

With 13 games played across all competitions, Salah has recorded 10 goals and four assists to start the 2023–24 campaign in customary fashion.

His alleged £350,000-per-week deal is scheduled to end in June 2025.

Agbonlahor said, “I do see Mo Salah in Saudi Arabia, 100%,” to Ewan Kingsbury of Football Insider.

“He is going to be the player with the biggest salary. It does occur, and I observe it during the summer.

“There will be one year remaining on his contract, and Liverpool will be aware of this and able to find a replacement.”

“I don’t believe Liverpool is motivated by money. With the requested fee, customers will receive anything they want.

Even though Klopp won’t want to part with him, it’s possible that he’ll be granted the money to find a younger replacement.

“Whether Salah’s legs will begin to fail in the upcoming years is unknown. In my opinion, it would be wise for business to let him depart in 2024
