Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo could be replaced by Amadou Onana, an Everton midfielder.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, that is the case.
The source asserts that Chelsea has already contacted Amadou Onana and that he is a viable option for the Blues if Moises Caicedo is not available.
Caicedo appeared to be on the verge of joining Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp revealed that his team and Brighton and Hove Albion had reached a signing agreement.
The German said in his pre-game press conference on Friday morning, “I can confirm the deal that the club has agreed. I don’t know what it means exactly, the player and agreement we will see.”.
But a source for Sky Sports claims that he later rejected them, which gave Chelsea the upper hand once more.
If Chelsea signs Amadou Onana, not everyone will be pleased.
If Chelsea is unsuccessful in acquiring Caicedo and must rely on Onana, there will be some disappointment.
Undoubtedly, a segment of Blues supporters won’t be happy to see their team fail to sign their top target and then end up with a player who nearly lost his team to relegation last season.
