Como 1907 is apparently preparing to expand to their lineup this summer, with the recently promoted Serie A team closing in on a double transfer raid on former Liverpool players Pepe Reina and Alberto Moreno.

Cesc Fabregas, a former Arsenal and Chelsea player who is now a minority partner in Como 1907, is apparently preparing to recruit two ex-Liverpool players for the freshly promoted Serie A club.

The Italian club is hoping to considerably expand its team in preparation for its first season in Italy’s top division in over two decades. Fabregas, who concluded his playing career with Como, temporarily served as interim head coach last season before passing over to Osian Roberts owing to a lack of a UEFA Pro coaching licence.

However, he remains an assistant and is anticipated to take over as manager this summer provided he gets the requisite qualifications. Last season, Como finished second in Serie B on the penultimate day of the season, securing automatic promotion under Roberts and Fabregas’ leadership.

They are now attempting to enhance their team in preparation for the next campaign. According to reports, Como hopes to sign Raphael Varane following his exit from Manchester United. They are also reportedly close to signing custodian Pau Lopez from Marseille and Rodri Sanchez from Real Betis.

There are also rumours that they are interested in signing former Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial, whose contract at Old Trafford has expired, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, the two ex-Manchester United players aren’t the only high-profile free moves on the way. Fabregas is set to make many signings for Como this summer, with reports (via Football Italia) indicating that he is close to signing former Liverpool players Pepe Reina and Alberto Moreno.

The Spanish duo had been playing together at Villarreal for the previous two seasons, but both left the La Liga club this summer when their contracts expired. Both players have decided to join Como on free transfers, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that they will both sign one-year contracts with the Italian club.

Reina joined Liverpool from Villarreal for £6 million in July 2005, and he appeared in 394 games for the Reds over the course of eight seasons. He was loaned out to Napoli in the summer of 2014, where he had his first taste of Serie A football, before making the permanent move to Bayern Munich in August 2014.

He later returned to Napoli and Villarreal, with loan spells at AC Milan, Aston Villa, and Lazio in between his second stints with the aforementioned clubs.

Moreno, on the other hand, joined Liverpool just a week after Reina left for Bayern Munich, signing for £12 million from Sevilla in August 2014. He made 141 appearances for the Reds before leaving after his contract expired in 2019, having lost his place to Andy Robertson, and then signing for Villarreal on a free transfer.

During his time at Liverpool, Reina won the FA Cup, League Cup, and European Super Cup. Moreno, on the other side, left as a Champions League winner, with his exit confirmed just days after Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 European Cup final.

Cesc Fabregas explicit on perfect candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss

After Jurgen Klopp departs Liverpool in the summer of 2020, Cesc Fabregas, a former player for Arsenal and Chelsea, has shared

After Jurgen Klopp departs Liverpool in the summer of 2020, Cesc Fabregas, a former player for Arsenal and Chelsea, has shared his opinions on who should take over as manager of the team.

When Jurgen Klopp leaves his position as manager of Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, Cesc Fabregas thinks Xabi Alonso would be the perfect successor.

Given his impressive early coaching record, Alonso is one of the early contenders to succeed Klopp. After finishing second last when Alonso took over in October 2022, Bayer Leverkusen is now leading the Bundesliga and two points ahead of Bayern Munich.

Fabregas has outlined Alonso’s qualifications to take over at Anfield the next season, highlighting his intellect, disposition, mindset, and bond with the team from his five years as a player at Liverpool.

According to Fabregas, “he’s a very intelligent guy,” the BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast reported. “There, he has been. He has experienced everything, and he is aware of the high standards Liverpool has established. He is adored by the audience, and as a coach, I believe he is excellent. He has insightful insights.

“He may have a slightly different style of play, but I believe he is versatile. I used to see him around when he was the Real Sociedad B coach and now he works at Bayer Leverkusen. He does diverse actions. He has the correct mindset and can adjust to the circumstances and the various kinds of players he has.

“Despite his youth, he has very distinct ideas, which is a plus. He is a stable, intellectual man with the ideal disposition. Therefore, it’s a big ask, but I think he could pull it off.”

Alonso, however, has downplayed rumours of a possible transfer to Anfield and stated he is still entirely focused on Leverkusen’s pursuit of the league championship. “Speculation is normal, my focus is here on Bayer Leverkusen,” he stated.

“I am currently really content with my players at Leverkusen.” Naturally, there was a lot of surprise in Liverpool. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for what Jurgen accomplished there. Here, I am very content.

“I’m having fun at work here. Every day feels like a challenge to me, and every game is that. I’m travelling through Leverkusen in style. I’m not sure about the next one. I’m reflecting on my current location.

“I’m having fun and I’m at a terrific position. What matters most is Saturday. Right now, I don’t really care what will transpire in the future.”

Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal are “queuing up” to sign a €60 million Bundesliga player.

The Ecuadorian international helped Royal Antwerp win the Jupiler Pro League the previous year, and as a result, he signed

After only six months in the Bundesliga, Willian Pacho is drawing significant attention, according to German media.

The Ecuadorian international helped Royal Antwerp win the Jupiler Pro League the previous year, and as a result, he signed a summer contract with Eintracht Frankfurt. Pacho was purchased for €9 million with the obvious goal of selling him for a huge profit down the road.

The 22-year-old, who was already well-regarded when playing for Belgium, has proven that the Eintracht management was right to have trusted him. Pacho has impressed with his awareness, athleticism, and ball handling skills this season, making him one of Germany’s most outstanding defenders. Still, even Frankfurt locals were caught off guard by his quick ascent to fame.

The original intention, according to BILD, was to retain Pacho in the Bundesliga until 2025 or 2026, but his strong play this season may hasten his exit. According to the article, the Premier League’s elite have already taken notice of the Ecuadorian.

    Pacho to the Premier League?
The teenage defender is reportedly drawing serious interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Real Madrid and Napoli, two more powerful teams in Europe, are reportedly also eager to sign the 22-year-old.

According to the rumour, Pacho might be sold as soon as the summer arrives if the right offer is made. Since there is no release clause for the left-footed center-back, Eintracht will eventually control the ball.

The German team now values Pacho at approximately €60 million, but they know he will be in high demand come summertime due to the lack of excellent left-footed centre backs available. As a result, his cost can increase much more
