Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to start Curtis Jones in Liverpool’s UEFA Europa League clash this week against Toulouse.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 22-year-old midfielder will return to the starting XI having missed the Reds’ last two games due to suspension.

Jones was sent off in Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham last month, with the midfielder only featuring from the bench in the Anfield side’s last European run-out against Union SG.

Lauded as ‘unbelievable’ in training by Harvey Elliott, Jones has been in impressive form for Liverpool this season despite his reckless red card in north London earlier in the campaign

And the midfielder will relish with the chance of being back in the Liverpool starting XI, with a win against Toulouse essentially putting the Reds into the next round of the Europa League.

Indeed, Jones deserves a shot at redemption after his Premier League dismissal, and a start this week in Europe is exactly the sort of stage the youngster can thrive on.

Jones will want to impress for Liverpool against Toulouse

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to start Curtis Jones in Liverpool’s UEFA Europa League clash this week against Toulouse.

Klopp has so far managed his squad in an excellent manner this season, and this week’s clash against Toulouse must gift Jones the chance to impress again for Liverpool.

The midfielder has been brilliant in recent weeks, and a European night at Anfield could be exactly what Jones needs to shake off some rust ahead of his Premier League return.

Moreover, the opposition on the night will be perfect for Jones to showcase what he is capable of, with the 22-year-old likely to cause some damage for Liverpool on Merseyside.

Liverpool might benefit from Bayern ace’s contract impasse

Even though the transfer window only opens twice a year and lasts for a few weeks, preparations are made all year long to give organizations like Liverpool the best chance of being in front of the line when a deal can be made.

Although there are still deals to be made on deadline day and late window purchases are common due to injuries, if a club has done its homework in the run-up to a window, as the Reds frequently do, then the agreement and contract signing are essentially formalities.

Although those associated with the club and its supporters may not have preferred, there were still players brought in during the summer transfer window, and most of them have been successful.

But as long as players of the highest caliber are still available, Jurgen Klopp must be interested in them.
He is constantly striving for perfection.

Jamal Musiala, a 20-year-old star for Bayern, could be one of them.

According to Christian Falk of SportBILD, Liverpool are interested in the player.

Curiously, his agents are not in contact with the Bavarian powerhouses regarding an extension of his current contract.

The Reds may feel they’ve gained an advantage over their rivals in advance of a future contract discussion, even though there is still a lot of water that could still go under the bridge in this particular situation.

The Premier League has confirmed the return to work of the Tottenham vs. Liverpool VAR blunder official.

The Premier League has confirmed the return to work of the Tottenham vs. Liverpool VAR blunder official.

Although England and his assistant Dan Cook were both involved in the incident against Tottenham, it has been confirmed that they will play in this weekend’s games.

Following the VAR controversy in Tottenham’s victory over Liverpool, Premier League official Darren England will resume his duties this weekend.

The match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium featured England on VAR duty when Luis Diaz’s goal was ruled offside by the on-field officials despite replays demonstrating he was clearly onside.
Later, it was discovered that England and his aide Dan Cook thought the field-level decision was actually onside.

They were both removed from participation in games that same weekend and were not chosen for the Premier League games before the break.

However, the Premier League has announced that both are coming back, with England being named the fourth official for Brentford’s match against Burnley on Saturday.
In the meantime, Cook will assist Michael Oliver when Sheffield United plays Manchester United.

The PGMOL released audio from the VAR hub that showed the officials realizing they had made the wrong call after the game had resumed, which led to a significant amount of controversy surrounding the incident.
The chief of referees Howard Webb maintains that the proper procedure was followed despite calls for the game to be stopped.

They thought about interfering in the game to end it, but they realized that is against the rules of the game, which are set by FIFA and the IFAB.

“There’s obviously a process in place that sits in the laws of the game about how we use VAR to ensure that it is delivered consistently throughout every league in the world,” said the official. And it forbids you from returning under those conditions.
They chose not to get involved as a result.

The Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton is the opening match of the weekend, and Craig Pawson has been named as the official referee.
David Coote, who served as the VAR referee for a contentious match between the two teams in 2020, will be on the panel.

According to reports, the referee was undecided whether to dismiss Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for a reckless challenge on Virgil van Dijk that left the defender sidelined for a significant amount of time with an injury.

When Chelsea and Arsenal square off in the London derby, Chris Kavanagh will serve as the referee as the two teams look to build on their recent success.

Prior to their Europa League match, Liverpool has announced Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, and Diogo Jota injury news expected return dates.

Recent injury reports for Liverpool following the Reds’ 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Cody Gakpo suffered an injury in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool is awaiting further information on the incident.
The forward is just one of many Reds who may miss the team’s trip to Brighton and Hove Albion the following weekend.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Gakpo was replaced just minutes after he had canceled out Son Heung-min’s 36th-minute goal.

Gakpo wasn’t the only Liverpool player to leave the field early during the defeat in North London, as Curtis Jones and Jota were both given red cards by referee Simon Hooper either side of their respective teams’ equalizers.

Following are the most recent Liverpool injury updates and potential return dates.

    Cody Gakpo.

Gakpo was traveling back to Merseyside with a brace on his leg, according to Klopp in his post-game press conference following the defeat in North London.

“To be honest, the biggest issue with the game.
“We got a free-kick before Cody Gakpo scored, and he got hurt.
He now has a brace on and is limping down the hallway,” the Liverpool manager told reporters.
To be completely honest, that is currently my biggest issue.
Really, really bad, we lost two players (due to red cards) and possibly a third. So, yes, that is something we must obviously address.

When asked if Gakpo’s injury was a “bad one,” Klopp responded, “Perhaps, I don’t know.
    He was braced.
Even though he had just scored, he still felt the impact of that shot. It was caused by the earlier foul.

    Expected return date: Unknown

    Curtis Jones.

In the 26th minute, Jones was dismissed for Yves Bissouma’s lunge.
Prior to VAR’s recommendation that he watch the challenge on the pitch-side monitor, referee Simon Hooper initially gave the midfielder a yellow card for the tackle.

Hooper quickly glanced at slowed-down replays before brandishing a red card in Jones’ direction.

Jones will currently miss the Reds’ upcoming matches against Brighton, Everton, and Nottingham Forest as a result of his dismissal, which carries a three-match suspension.

He will be available for Thursday’s Europa League match against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium.
Next month’s League Cup match against Bournemouth could mark his return to domestic competition.

    Return date: November 1

    Diogo Jota.

Liverpool was later down to nine men after Jota was dismissed for receiving two yellow cards in quick succession after Jones’ first-half dismissal.

But unlike Jones, the Portugal international will only miss one game of his suspension and will be eligible for selection when Everton comes to Anfield on October 21.

    Thiago Alcantara.

Prior to their Europa League match, Liverpool has announced Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, and Diogo Jota injury news expected return dates.

The midfielder hasn’t played since April, extending his absence from Liverpool to six months.

The Spaniard has not yet resumed training after experiencing a setback in his recovery from hip surgery at the tail end of last season.

Pep Lijnders responded, “We’ve missed Thiago, no?
He makes the ball arrive in the right spaces, when asked about the midfielder’s fitness last week. We need him back.
Although he has yet to resume training, he is recovering.
How that turns out will depend on time.

    Expected return date: Unknown

    Conor Bradley.

The young full-back displayed promise during preseason games in Germany, playing 90 minutes over the course of two games.

Following a minor, unidentified injury, he was later excluded from the group that traveled to Singapore.
He hasn’t been included in any matchday squads since the season’s start, but he has been participating in training since his teammates returned to England.

After demonstrating his abilities in League One with Bolton Wanderers the previous season, the Northern Irishman is anticipated to fit into Klopp’s plans as Alexander-Arnold’s backup once he is healthy.

    Expected return date: Unknown

Jürgen Klopp disagrees with Liverpool contract as Dominik Szoboszlai makes bold Manchester City claim https://footballtopstar.com/jurgen-klopp-disagrees-with-liverpool-contract-as-dominik-szoboszlai-makes-bold-manchester-city-claim/

After VAR intervened, Curtis Jones was given a straight red card for a late challenge on Yves Bissouma. Gary Neville disagreed with the decision, though.

Gary Neville criticized the decision to give Curtis Jones a straight red card during Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham, saying a yellow card would have been “fine.”.

Jones, 22, was initially warned for a late tackle on Yves Bissouma.
Referee Simon Hooper was urged by VAR to reevaluate the challenge, though. Replays revealed that Jones grazed the top of the ball when he lunged in and then caught Bissouma on the bottom of the shin.

Hooper changed his mind and decided to dismiss Jones, leaving Liverpool with 10 men for more than an hour.
Hooper had a look at the pitch-side VAR monitor before making this decision.
Neville, a former Manchester United defender, disagrees and said the decision will “ruin” the game.

Neville said, “No, I know when you’re doing someone on purpose, I’ve done myself in the past, and he’s not doing that,” in an interview with Sky Sports.
In reality, his foot slips over the top of the ball as he [the VAR] shows the referee the end motion.

After a contentious decision "ruins" Tottenham vs Liverpool, Gary Neville fumes at VAR.

“It’s never a red card, but he’ll get one if it ends the match.” Though his foot slips on top of the ball, I believe he has generally gone in sincere.

Although I’m not certain—I never am these days—and I’m not as confident in my knowledge of football as I once was, I don’t believe he entered the situation with malice.

“If you watch the last portion of it slowly, you’ll realize that it’s a red card.
The speed at which these players enter tackles must be observed in full motion at high speed; Bissouma and Curtis Jones are both flying in.
However, given the ambiguity surrounding such a situation, I thought a yellow would have worked well.

Tottenham took the lead thanks to Son Heung-min, and after a strong start, Liverpool’s momentum in the game was dampened by the red card.

Son scored from close range after Richarlison squared the ball to him after James Maddison’s pin-point pass found him in the left channel.

Cody Gakpo’s close-range goal in extra time helped Liverpool tie the game despite playing with a man down. Liverpool responded well to falling behind in the first half. The Dutchman had a great finish as he spun around and slammed the ball past Vicario into the goal.

Liverpool injury news and return dates ahead of Newcastle - Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones
Latest Liverpool injury news as Jürgen Klopp’s side prepare to face Newcastle United in the Premier League

Liverpool will be looking for their next Premier League points away to Newcastle this weekend, where Jurgen Klopp’s men are expecting another tough away test.

The season began with a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge before scoring their first win of the season against Bournemouth on Saturday. Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota were among the goals to make it 3-1, but in the 90th minute both the Colombian and Trent Alexander-Arnold limped off, while Alexis Mac Allister was sent off.

Next in line are the top four Newcastle hopefuls. While Klopp remains unbeaten at Tyneside since his first away trip in 2015, a 5-1 win at home to Aston Villa on the opening day means the home side should be in high spirits. The Liverpool manager set up the game last week and started the mind games with a small mention of how the Premier League’s new sideline rules will affect the Magpies, prompting a backlash. Eddie Howe.

Just weeks into the new season, the Reds are struggling with a string of injuries, unsurprisingly affecting the midfield more than any other area to date. Hoping there will be some returns for the Newcastle game, here’s the latest injury news from Liverpool:

    Luis Diaz

Klopp may have a plethora of good attacking options to choose from, but losing his standout player of the new season so far in such an important clash would be of great concern.

Diaz left the pitch in the 86th minute after a spectacular equalizer half an hour ago and was replaced by Darwin Nunez. He received treatment just before his retirement amid potential problems with the knee injury that sidelined him for six months last season. After the period, Klopp said: “First class, very good form but the second half was difficult for him. Being part of this new midfield was really difficult for him, you could see that.”

    Espected return date: This week

    Trent Alexander Arnold

Similar to Diaz, “the Scouser on the team” also left Saturday’s event early. Before being traded to Joe Gomez, he suffered a blow and was later seen exiting the dugout with an ice pack around his ankle.

Asked by the press what happened, Klopp replied: “I hope so (that he is fine). He told me he had a kick which was quite painful, but as far as spinning or falling, it was a kick.” So we changed back then, but I hope he’s okay.”

    Espected return date: This week

    curtis jones

The 22-year-old missed the second game of the season with an ankle injury sustained in training. This was first claimed by Athletic on Saturday.

Their report suggested the injury was only minor and that Jones would return to training in hopes of being included in the group traveling to the north-east on Sunday.

After making an impression towards the end of last season after recovering from injury, the midfielder picked up where he left off eight days ago with an energetic last minute performance against Chelsea.

    Expected Return Date: This week

    Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara’s return was downplayed by his coach on Friday. Klopp sat down in front of the press and explicitly stated that he “wouldn’t be there yet” for the Bournemouth match, but was “very close” to returning. His time will have to be managed due to the fact that he was unable to take part in any pre-season matches, although he was part of the delegation that traveled to the July training camp in Germany and has since returned to training ahead of the start of championship championship.
    season.

Thiago’s illness was a hip problem which required surgery before the end of the 2022/23 season.

Expected return date: end of August/beginning of September

    Stefan Bajcetic

Like his Spanish compatriot, Stefan Bajcetic was already out before the end of last season with a captor injury. He too had said of the Liverpool manager that he “hadn’t arrived yet” for the Bournemouth game, so it was a welcome sight to see the 18-year-old’s name among the substitutes on Saturday.

He was an unused substitute for 90 minutes, although he later posted this encouraging message on social media:

Had circumstances been different and Mac Allister had not been sent off, the Anfield crowd might have gotten at least a few minutes from the young midfielder, so a return from the bench against Newcastle is looming. Estimated return date: this week.

    Conor Bradley

The young full-back has already shown his potential during the pre-season in Germany and has played 90 minutes in two games.

He was later dropped from the group traveling to Singapore after suffering an unspecified minor injury and has not been part of a match squad since the start of the season but has been involved in training since the return of his teammates in England.

Once fit, the Northern Irishman is set to enter Klopp’s plans as a back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold after proving himself in Ligue 1 at Bolton Wanderers last year.

    Estimated return date: unknown

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
Liverpool squad news as Curtis Jones is injured.

Curtis Jones looks set to miss Liverpool’s match against AFC Bournemouth. The midfielder suffered a twisted ankle in training earlier this week, according to The Athletic, which ruled him out of action ahead of Saturday’s fixture with the Cherries at Anfield (3pm BST).

Jones came off the bench in the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the 2023/24 Premier League curtain-opener last week. The 22-year-old was not photographed with the rest of his teammates at the AXA Training Center on Wednesday, with his injury likely explaining his absence. It is hoped that Jones’ problem is not too serious and that he will be back for the trip to Newcastle United next week, but it is a blow for Jurgen Klopp who is already lacking opportunities in midfield.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Thiago Alcantara is back in training but still not ready to join him as he underwent hip surgery in April. Stefan Bajcetic underwent adductor surgery in March and is not yet considered fit to play.

Meanwhile, there is uncertainty whether newcomer Wataru Endo will get a work permit in time for his performance. The 30-year-old joined Liverpool from Stuttgart for a fee of £16m, it was announced on Friday. Klopp confirmed the player is physically ready, having already started the season at Stuttgart, but said: “We’ll see.”

As things stand, Klopp’s suitable midfield options for Bournemouth are summer signings Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, who both made their Chelsea debuts. Cody Gakpo was dropped off in the engine room at Stamford Bridge while Harvey Elliott impressed coming off the bench. Youngster James McConnell was given a place among the substitutes.

Liverpool ‘won’t use money as excuse’ – despite influence of Chelsea and Saudi Arabian transfer

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool will not use the money as an “excuse” in the transfer window, despite growing influence and cash flow from Chelsea and Saudi Arabia.

The big stories this week centered on Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea in deals for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who have both opted to join the London club.

The Reds have responded by signing Wataru Endo, but this has only fueled the fire in many quarters when it comes to the club’s appeal, something Klopp has rejected.

Klopp often provides glowing answers to questions at his press conferences and Friday was no different after being asked if the club is having trouble signing players this summer.

“I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Liverpool, to be honest. More difficult to dress? No,” Klopp insisted.

“Everything is more difficult, everything. There are reasons, you all know them. You’ve probably written about this before, these stories aren’t what I have to say about them. “But it’s really difficult, there are a lot of things that have changed since last year.”

Alluding to Chelsea’s never-ending transfer cases, Klopp continued: “Some clubs do it differently and nobody understands 100 per cent how it works.”

“As a normal club it’s really difficult to follow them. We just watch what they do and that’s fine, not my problem. I don’t blame anyone for what it is.”

Klopp also cited Saudi Arabia’s growing power to throw “infinite sums of money” at players making life “more difficult”, but that played no part in convincing a target to move to Anfield.

“Also, Saudi Arabia is not making it easy. Our window ends on August 31st [note: it’s September 1st] and their window is still open, so for players who aren’t happy, they will come back.

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
“It’s okay if there’s another league that’s growing, it’s football, that’s fine. We don’t have the right to say it’s not allowed, China has tried, the United States could still try. No problem.

“But infinite money creates problems, that’s how it is. We sit here and [think] ‘what can we do now’. It would be nice if someone could come up with a solution, some rules – I don’t know.

“Yes, it has become more difficult, but not to convince players to go to Liverpool,” he continued.

“One hundred percent, if you called a million players, they would come right away. We just have to make sure you pick the right one, our timing is different from others. “We can’t just spend and watch later, that’s the way things are.
    It is good.

“I’m here and I’m very happy with the transfer window right now, our transfer window.

“I know what happened last week, I know what football fans are like and I know they would rather bring in a £110m or £150m player, and your club can do it.

“This is quite nice, but in the end the pitch is the same size, the player doesn’t grow with the money he costs, it’s quite the opposite. “I’m really happy for the moment. We keep looking, we keep looking.

“We will do everything we can to make the best decisions for this club and we won’t use a second of money or anything as an excuse. We just do it with everything we have. That’s the idea. “We do it our way, we are here and we are ready to fight.”

  • There are seven major questions that Liverpool supporters have, before the new season.

There are seven major questions that Liverpool supporters have, before the new season.

Who will start in defensive midfield vs. Chelsea?
There are many unanswered questions at Liverpool following a summer of significant staff turnover.

Jurgen Klopp acknowledged this himself, but it is still unclear who he intends to start against Chelsea given all the incomings and outgoings.

There are many questions that need to be answered, both on and off the field, and the answers may take some time to come.

In light of this, we compiled a list of queries raised by supporters and tried our best to respond.

Who will start in defensive midfield vs. Chelsea?

The question has been on Liverpool supporters’ minds ever since the first reports of Fabinho’s departure surfaced more than a fortnight ago, but there is still no clear solution.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is paired with a defensive midfielder in the new system, which we will discuss later, who can do the majority of the running for him. 66 to concentrate on doing what he does best, which is creating.

    And the front three?

    And the front three?
Romeo Lavia is the obvious choice for the position, but given the specifics of Klopp’s defensive midfield and the fact that his arrival from Southampton has not yet been confirmed, it is unlikely that he will be ready to join the team right away.

Currently, Curtis Jones is in the lead.

After playing the position during preseason, his manager remarked, “In this position, he can play that for sure if nobody else is there. ”.

He continued his strong play in holding midfield for the England U21 team into preseason, and Klopp recognized his potential there.

Alexander-Arnold is a possibility there as well, but doing so would be unlikely because the team would lose some of the advantages of having him float as a hybrid right-back.

Although having a problem like this is undoubtedly a good thing, Klopp needs to know how his players will lineup when the new season begins.

Who we anticipate the front three to be vs. Chelsea:.

    Sam: Diaz, Gakpo, Salah
    Adam: Jota, Gakpo, Salah
    Jack: Jota, Gakpo, Salah
    Matt: Jota, Gakpo, Salah

Is the new system here to stay?

Is the new system here to stay?

A change in strategy was made by Klopp toward the end of the previous campaign as Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League began to dwindle.

When in possession, the Reds started to play in a formation more akin to a 3-4-3 as opposed to the conventional 4-3-3.

Alexander-Arnold does this by advancing from right-back to infield before dropping back when the ball is out of his hands.

The adjustment helped Liverpool’s fortunes in the final stretch, and it seems to be sticking around.

The manager stuck with it during preseason, and it appears that his signings were made with the intention of making the new system a permanent one.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister are the ideal midfielders to support Lavia, a transfer target, as they are both capable of covering a lot of ground and contributing in both attack and defense.

Unambiguously, the answer to this question is yes.

who will serve as Trent’s backup?

So, who will be Trent’s backup?
It is obvious that Alexander-Arnold won’t be able to play in every game with Liverpool battling on four fronts, including a hopefully lengthy run in the Europa League.

But because of his exceptional skills with the ball, he is crucial to the new system, so this presents a challenge.

Right now, Conor Bradley appears to be the right-back Liverpool needs to replace Alexander-Arnold because the Reds are unlikely to look for another right-back.

While it’s obvious that Bradley isn’t the same player as Alexander-Arnold, he has been trying out for the position during preseason and could serve as a useful backup against weaker teams in the Europa League and domestic cup competitions.

Long-term, though, Bradley’s skills are better suited to playing as a more conventional attacking right-back.

The Anfield Road stand should be ready soon.

61,000 spectators were expected to attend the first home game of the new season at Anfield. Instead, only 51,000 people will be present.

As a result of the redeveloped Anfield Road Stand project taking longer than expected, this has happened.

The stand will now undergo a phased reopening, with capacity increasing over the course of the following few months.

Billy Hogan, the CEO of Liverpool, said on This Is Anfield: “We’ll open it gradually over the course of the next few weeks, working very closely with Buckingham and Liverpool City Council to ensure that we do that in the appropriate way. ”.

It is hoped that the new deadline will be met in time for the Merseyside Derby on October 21.

Is midfield a problem for Liverpool?

    who will be Trent’s backup?
Liverpool still has a shorter midfield than they did last season despite adding two excellent midfielders and probably Lavia or Andre.

The club decided to upgrade with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai after losing Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

But after that, Henderson and Fabinho’s departures caused the situation to change once more.

Lavia will most likely replace Fabinho as the starting holding midfielder if he signs.

Many now think Liverpool needs to bring in a fourth midfielder this summer as a result, but Stefan Bajcetic will likely be given more responsibilities instead.

When he played last season, he, however, appeared better as a box-to-box midfielder as opposed to a defensive midfielder.

Will the new players start off strong?

    who will be Trent’s backup?
In any case, the early indications are encouraging.

Both Szoboszlai and Mac Allister, the latter in particular, finished their moves in plenty of time to participate in the Reds’ preseason games.

The fact that Klopp has always seen this as a huge plus is what motivates Liverpool to try to close deals as soon as possible during the transfer window.

Mac Allister has participated in each of the four exhibition games so far, standing out particularly in the Reds’ 4-0 victory over Leicester.

He has the best chance of getting into the starting lineup for the Premier League opener.

Szoboszlai, meanwhile, has had a more erratic start to life at Liverpool, but he still appears to be in good shape heading into the new campaign.

He rolled his ankle during practice, but he returned in time for the Leicester game and made a significant contribution while playing against them. Bayern Munich and Leicester.

Lavia is a different matter; if he does join, it will take him longer to adjust to a challenging position to play.

The replacement for Fabinho may already be found, according to Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool.

Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho's departure.
Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho’s departure.

Fabinho’s replacement at Liverpool, Curtis Jones, has been mentioned by Jurgen Klopp, who was impressed with the 22-year-old at the end of the previous campaign. Fabinho, a Brazilian midfielder who spent five years with the Reds on Merseyside, announced on Monday that he would be leaving the team after a reported £40 million move to Al-Ittihad.

Jordan Henderson was sold to Al-Ettifaq a few days prior to Fabinho’s departure, leaving Liverpool worryingly short of options in the middle of the park less than a fortnight before the start of the new season. The six-time European champions will undoubtedly try to add some new players before the summer transfer window closes, but Klopp has suggested that Jones might be a surprise choice to fill the void.

The Liverpool manager stated during a press conference in Singapore that Jones is undoubtedly one of the options in the current setup and the composition of the squad. “I think it’s no secret that we are still looking for players to join us; however, using what you already have is equally important, and I think Curtis can play that position with no problem.

“Can he play it when no one else in the team is defending? No, there’s no chance, but then again, I don’t know any player who can do that. But if you truly comprehend the current state of affairs, a proven 6 is not currently available. Do we offer an explanation for this?

“A lot of things can happen during the season; this has always been true. We approach it as a challenge and work to find a solution that is nonetheless compact. With the ball in his hands, Curtis can without a doubt make a significant impact. His growth over the past few months since he’s been here, in my opinion, has been truly amazing.

“Held back by some injuries sustained at the wrong time and for too long. It’s not anyone’s fault; it just happens to young players. The steps he took prior to that were excellent. It makes sense for him to be on the field. If no one else is there, he can definitely play that position. “.

Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho's departure.
Jones played in the Premier League only 18 times last season, but the latter part of the year was arguably when he was at his best while playing for Liverpool. When Jones was given responsibility by Klopp for running the show in the backroom, he frequently excelled in the middle of the park and the Reds went on to win all 11 of their final games.

It’s unclear whether he will be able to continue where he left off when the new season starts, but Klopp’s high praise suggests that he will at least be given the chance to prove himself in Fabinho’s absence. Romeo Lavia of Southampton is rumored to be one of the players Liverpool is considering signing, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them search the market for another midfielder.

It has always been the case that a lot can happen during the season. We consider it a challenge and work to be as compact as possible despite that. Without a doubt, Curtis can make a significant impact from that position when in possession. His growth over the past few months since he’s been with us, in my opinion, has been truly amazing.

“Held back by some accidents that happened at the wrong time and for too long. Nobody is at fault; it simply occurs with young players. He had taken some really good steps prior to that. It makes sense to have him on the field. If no one else is available, he can definitely play that position. “.

Jones only made 18 appearances in the Premier League last season, but the latter part of the year was arguably when he played his best football while playing for Liverpool. When Klopp gave Jones the responsibility of running the show in the backroom, where he frequently excelled, the Reds went on to win all 11 of their final games.

It is unclear whether he will be able to continue where he left off when the new campaign gets underway, but Klopp’s high praise suggests that he will at least be given the chance to prove himself in Fabinho’s absence. Romeo Lavia of Southampton is rumored to be one of the players Liverpool is considering when searching the transfer market for a new midfielder. However, this would not be unexpected.

‘Concrete’ talks between Liverpool and a £50 million target are terrible news for England U21 hero

Liverpool entering 'concrete' talks with £50m target spells bad news for England U21 hero
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s transfer plans won’t be good news for one of England’s Under-21 European Championship heroes.

Liverpool beating Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea and signing Romeo Lavia this summer could mean the end of Curtis Jones’ career at Anfield.

The 22-year-old midfielder has reclaimed a starting place for next season with heroic results in recent months, but Jurgen Klopp could rule him out.

According to Sky Germania, Liverpool have had concrete talks with Lavia, although they have yet to agree personal terms on a contract at Anfield.

According to the report, Klopp is keen to get the 19-year-old signed and Southampton are asking for £50m to part ways.

Liverpool have already splashed out over £120m to bring Alexis Mac Allister to Merseyside from Brighton and Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

And a third top addition to the midfield would be bad news for current members of Klopp’s ranks.

Neither is Jones, who has a promising future under the German coach after an impressive end to last season and the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

Liverpool entering 'concrete' talks with £50m target spells bad news for England U21 hero
Jones scored the winner as England beat Spain 1-0 on Saturday to claim their third European Under-21 title and first since 1984.

He also added goals to his game during the innings and became a crucial part of Liverpool’s ultimately unsuccessful bid for a place in the top four. But Klopp would likely use his entire summer transfer budget for three midfielders if he approves a £50m deal for Lavia.

And dumping so much cash suggests he sees all three as regular starters to reshape the energetic midfield that made his past Liverpool sides so dangerous.

Jones returns to Liverpool for pre-season with a starting position firmly in his sights after showing his abilities for club and country.

But he could very well be seventh in Klopp’s pecking order considering that a new trio would join Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara at Anfield.

Jones signed a new long-term deal in 2022, leaving his future in the hands of Klopp and the Reds. However, if regular appearances cannot be guaranteed next season, he might be tempted to take on a new challenge if there is interest in his services.

Liverpool fans don’t seem to have full faith in FSG as Jurgen Klopp looks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing 2022/2023 season

More than 4,300 Liverpool fans don’t trust Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to provide enough support for Jurgen Klopp as the German seeks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing 2022/2023 season.

After missing out on Champions League football for the first time since 2016, the Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai after leaving long-serving stars like Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita at the end of the contract.

However, it is reasonably obvious that further additions are needed. But it seems Liverpool fans don’t have complete faith in FSG’s low-cost recruiting style when it comes to signing searches.

53% of supporters who responded to the ECHO Big Liverpool forum, a total of 4,363, told us they don’t trust the FSG to support Klopp enough in his attempts to build a successful squad.

However, it should be noted that 47% (3892) believe the ownership group led by John W. Henry and Tom Werner can help the former Dortmund manager deliver even more silverware to the club.

There was much more support for striker Darwin Nunez from those who took part in the forum.

How Liverpool could line up against Chelsea on the opening day following the transfers of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai
The Uruguayan, who was signed for a whopping fee by Benfica last summer, was only able to score nine Premier League goals in his debut season and has taken some time to adjust to English football.

Though Nunez has no doubt displayed flashes of immense talent which have suggested why the Portuguese giants demand such a high fee for his services. At just 24, he has plenty of time to repay that belief.

83% of fans who took part in the forum believe the club’s potential record signing will eventually come to fruition at Anfield, meaning Nunez has 6,898 Liverpool fans wishing him success at the Merseyside side. Only a small fraction of 17% think they will fail.

Elsewhere, 7,704 (92%) of fans are delighted with the arrivals of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai after saying the midfield department should be Liverpool’s top priority in the transfer window.

Nevertheless, 76% of fans are still not satisfied. They think the Reds will need to sign between four and seven players this summer. Romeo Lavia, Levi Colwill and Kephram Thuram have recently been linked with a move to Anfield.

Although there was no full trust in the FSG during the investigation, Liverpool fans have faith in the new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke. The 59-year-old recently replaced Julian Ward and is trusted by 80% (6495) of fans to help sort out the Reds’ transfer deal.

According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.Liverpool needs to bolster its defense in the upcoming summer transfer window, and Perr Schuurs of the Netherlands is their top target once more.

When he played for Ajax in 2020 (The Mirror), The Reds were linked with him, and they haven’t lost that interest.

After putting on a strong season last year, Torino paid a fee of roughly 10 million euros to hire his services, and now major European clubs are keeping an eye on him.

Liverpool and Napoli reportedly made offers to woo Schuurs, but the Granata rejected them, according to a report covered by Tutto Sport earlier in the day.

The Italian champions submitted a bid worth 28 million euros, while the Reds offered 30 million euros.

The Turin-based media outlet reported that Liverpool are prepared to make a better and newer offer to finally sign the 23-year-old.

Schuurs is worth approximately £42.8 million (50 million euros), but the president of Il Toro might accept a deal if he receives a bid of roughly 40 million euros.

According to Tutto Sport, it is not impossible for the Anfield club to meet the asking price.

Only Napoli, Lazio, Roma, and Juventus had a better defensive record in the previous Serie A season than Torino. Perr Schuurs played in 30 league games and contributed to the team’s nine shutouts.

Should Liverpool raise their offer to finally sign him, in your opinion?

Mason Mount just proved why Man United still can’t match Liverpool and FSG transfer trick

According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.
While other clubs have made a habit of dragging out transfer stories, Liverpool have raised the bar in negotiations and continue to do so now with Jörg Schmadtke.

When it comes to handling transfer deals, few clubs can match Liverpool.
Fans might disagree with that statement, especially after last year’s disappointing window resulted in a trophyless season and failed Champions League qualification. But when it comes to securing a player’s signature, the Reds are not shy about doing so.

We’ve seen it more than once lately. Once Liverpool are interested it usually doesn’t take long to get their man and, much to the delight of the fans, usually results in one of the Reds’ rivals being blown out of the water.

In January 2022, with Tottenham eyeing Luis Díaz, Liverpool stepped in to snatch him from under Spurs’ noses (according to TalkSport).

The Reds repeated the trick a few months later, moving quickly to secure Darwin Núñez and beat Manchester United (via the Underground), and the Red Devils were soon given another transfer lesson when Cody Gakpo moved to Anfield (according to GOAL )

According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.
Much of the credit for these deals should go to former sporting directors Michael Edwards and Julian Ward. The pair have raised the bar for the new club in charge and, judging by Jörg Schmadtke’s first deal, the German will pick up where he left off. The arrival of Dominik Szoboszlai came as a surprise.

Just a few weeks ago, the Hungarian was little more than a passing mention in the plethora of midfielders linked to a move to Anfield. While he’s been defended several times on this site, it seemed like Szoboszlai wasn’t really on the radar.

Of course, on this occasion the Reds had no choice but to act quickly to meet the deadline of Szoboszlai’s release clause.

That said, you can certainly imagine a certain Old Trafford club making a lot more of the situation before having to negotiate a much higher fee. Finally, United have only just confirmed the signing of Mason Mount, although the transfer was in the works long before Liverpool signed Szoboszlai.

And it’s not like the Reds don’t have competition for Szoboszlai’s signature. Newcastle have shown strong interest (according to Football Insider) and were perhaps seen as favorites before Liverpool arrived.

Of course, there is still work for Schmadtke to do this summer and in the end he will be judged not only by Liverpool’s next signings but also by how well they and Szoboszlai fare next season.

Still, the German may have already shown why he was chosen by the FSG by repeating Edwards and Ward’s tricks during their time at the club. And that could well be more bad news for rivals Liverpool.

Mo Salah posts the inevitable holiday snap - Jones' response is brilliant
Mohamed Salah is enjoying the break between the end of the season and his international commitments and his recent social media post hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Salah’s physique is no secret, he has ceremoniously removed his shirt on several occasions to show everyone how hard he works.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen him against Man United, as Trent Alexander-Arnold gave him his crowning glory after becoming the club’s top scorer in the Premier League.

Instead of having its roof removed at Anfield, it now rests on the stern of a yacht – and it all seemed inevitable.

The Egyptian, who is currently enjoying his off-season break, posted a ripped photo without a caption on his social media platforms on Saturday:

The 30-year-old may not have added a comment to his post, which speaks for itself, but two teammates were quick to comment and provide brilliant replies. Curtis Jones was the first to say “I knew it wouldn’t take much longer to post this”, before Adrian asked if it was a “stolen or posed photo?”

Following the development of Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool has seven players that cannot be traded.

Jamie Carragher summarize exciting Liverpool expectations for the remaining transfer window

Liverpool have reshaped their squad in the transfer market this summer, but Jürgen Klopp already has many of the best possible pieces.

As Jürgen Klopp puts his Liverpool move into action this summer to reshape his Reds squad for the new season, there’s a lot to think about, but it’s also true that many of the pieces are already in place.
Most of the teams that overtook Liverpool in the Premier League last season have at least as much work to do in terms of improvements.

Manchester United, for example, are weaker in goal and up front than Liverpool. The midfield could be revised and there are also doubts in the defense of Erik ten Hag. The Old Trafford squad have improved under the Dutchman, but there is still a long way to go before they can truly compete for the domestic title or the Champions League.

Newcastle United will also continue to spend heavily under Eddie Howe, but they don’t have the same level of players as Liverpool, although both teams have had better seasons than the volatile Reds.

Newcastle progressed far more than anyone expected last season, but it’s doubtful many players will be able to maintain that level, not least with European football playing for the first time in most of their careers.

Jamie Carragher summarize exciting Liverpool expectations for the remaining transfer window
Klopp needs to find updates in his Reds midfield and could do with adding at least one defender to his squad, but Liverpool don’t have as much work to do to get back to the level they want to be as some of them do the above to improve and take their next steps forward.

Now that Alexis Mac Allister has already arrived, more transfers to Anfield will follow.

But there are also several squad spots that are almost certainly not up for grabs.

Alisson Becker is the best in the world in his position and Liverpool will not be looking to move to full-back, while Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté are first-choice centre-backs.

Liverpool need more depth in defense but the key players are accommodated and bringing someone who has been an instant upgrade to those two in the center seems a near impossible task.

Similarly, up front, Mohamed Salah is a safety for the right and then Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Núñez will battle it out for the other two positions.

With Mac Allister and others moving into midfield as that area of the pitch improves in quality, the Argentinian should see himself in the starting eleven for next season’s opening match, possibly alongside another new signing.

Jamie Carragher summarize exciting Liverpool expectations for the remaining transfer window
The reality, however, is that ahead of the new season at least six players have already been signed for Liverpool’s first team, two more will be filled by a combination of four existing forwards and Mac Allister and another new signing is likely to come.

fill out the midfield with Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcântara and others also vying for the roles.

Injury permitting, at least Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konaté, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister and Salah should be in the starting XI early next year, with two from Díaz, Jota, Gakpo and Núñez also leaving There are only two places to compete. In all likelihood, Fabinho will take one after showing enough signs of rejuvenation with more legs.

These players are the ‘untouchables’ as Liverpool look to improve ahead of next season, but the core of a title-claiming squad is already in place – and Mac Allister’s arrival only signals the start of transfer activity. , and work is already underway on the sequel.

Even with the addition of two more midfielders and another defender this summer, the bulk of Klopp’s starting XI is already set and has more than enough quality to return to the competition.

With new energy around them and more quality in general, the ‘untouchables’ in the Liverpool squad will be able to show their true colors again.
