Liverpool FC lineup choices against Plymouth – 10 alterations, with Jota set to start?

Liverpool gears up for their clash against Plymouth. With only two injuries in the squad, manager Arne Slot has a wide range of options to select from and could make as many as 10 changes from the side that faced Tottenham last time out.

While it’s important not to overlook Sunday’s opponents, especially given that Plymouth managed a draw against Liverpool back in 2017 when they were still a fourth-division team, Slot should still see this match as an opportunity to rotate his squad. Times have certainly changed, with Liverpool boasting a much stronger, nearly fully-fit squad that was inherited from Jürgen Klopp.

Here’s what we know about the team for this upcoming match:

    Team News

In his press conference, Arne Slot provided the following updates:

    • Trent Alexander-Arnold won’t be available for this match and is also a doubt for the upcoming game against Everton.
    • Tyler Morton has sustained a shoulder injury and will be out for “at least four weeks”.
    • Slot confirmed he will “definitely use a few players that haven’t played that much”.
    • Alisson was rested against Tottenham but is not injured and should be available for this fixture.

    Liverpool’s Potential Lineup vs. Plymouth

Based on the available information, this is how Liverpool might line up against Plymouth:

Alisson; Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Tsimikas; Endo, Mac Allister, Elliott; Chiesa, Jota, Diaz.

Despite the expectation that several key players will be rested, it’s still tough to predict Slot’s exact lineup. Much of the coach’s decisions will hinge on how seriously the Reds are taking this fixture. For instance, Mac Allister could feature alongside Curtis Jones if Slot deems it necessary.

There’s also the matter of who will be in goal. While Caoimhin Kelleher started in the third round, Slot may prefer to bring Alisson back in to keep him sharp ahead of future fixtures.

In terms of defensive changes, Wataru Endo will likely play in the backline, with Gomez moving to right-back to give Bradley a break before the match against Everton. This will also be the first time in a month that Jones starts consecutive matches.

McConnell, whom Slot spoke highly of in his pre-match comments, will likely join Jones and Elliott in midfield. Here’s an alternative lineup Slot could field:

Kelleher; Gomez, Quansah, Endo, Tsimikas; McConnell, Jones, Elliott; Chiesa, Jota, Diaz.

The reality is, Liverpool could afford to play a much younger side and still have a good chance of progressing. However, given the excellent health of the squad, this may be a perfect opportunity to give senior players who need minutes a run-out.

Additionally, with Liverpool U21s and Liverpool U18s also in action this weekend, we may get a glimpse of whether the likes of Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha feature in those games, hinting at potential involvement in the senior squad.

Arne Slot exposes fresh Liverpool injury concern as key player may miss Brentford match

In a live update ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League match against Brentford, head coach Arne Slot provided the latest injury news, highlighting a concern over Diogo Jota‘s fitness. The Portuguese forward picked up a potential injury during his brief appearance off the bench against Nottingham Forest.

Slot confirmed, “We have to see today — it is not sure that he will be available. He felt a little niggle (midweek). There is no doubt about Jota’s importance for us, but he wasn’t training. He finished the game but complained a bit about it. We’ll see for tomorrow.”

Both Jota and Luis Diaz trained separately on Thursday, with their participation in Saturday’s match still uncertain. However, Slot seemed optimistic about Diaz’s condition, stating, “I assume Diaz will train today. He was just on his own earlier in the week because of a sore throat.”

The Liverpool manager also praised Diaz’s adaptability, particularly his performance as a striker, saying, “Diaz has done well as a nine and even before the winter break, it was a very good performance. Afterward, Diaz played there three more games — United, Spurs, Forest. We have created chances as a team and that’s important. I am happy if we play Diaz as a 9 or 11.”

In terms of defensive updates, Ibrahima Konaté is continuing to build up his fitness after managing 66 minutes against Nottingham Forest. The French defender is gradually regaining sharpness. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez remains sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained against West Ham at the end of 2024.

Finally, Darwin Núñez, who served a suspension midweek, is available again but is more likely to start in Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League match against Lille rather than the Premier League fixture at Brentford.

Agent Confirms: ‘He Will Stay’ Amid January Liverpool Exit Rumors

Liverpool first-team assistant coach John Heitinga has attracted interest from managerless West Bromwich Albion.

Heitinga’s agent has confirmed that the Liverpool coach will remain at Anfield for the remainder of the season, despite interest from West Bromwich Albion. The former Everton defender joined Liverpool in the summer as part of new head coach Arne Slot’s backroom staff.

Before joining Liverpool, Heitinga had managed Ajax and most recently worked alongside his former Everton boss, David Moyes, in the coaching team at West Ham United.

His experience and positive impact at Liverpool — who are currently six points clear at the top of the Premier League, leading the Champions League, and advancing to the League Cup semi-finals — have made him a target for Championship club West Brom.

West Brom, who are aiming for promotion to the Premier League, have been without a manager since Carlos Corberan left to take charge of La Liga side Valencia just before Christmas.

However, their efforts to bring Heitinga to the Hawthorns seem unlikely to succeed. His agent, Rob Jansen, was quoted in De Telegraaf stating: “John will definitely stay at Liverpool this season.”

  • Liverpool receive selection boost for Brentford clash, but new injury setback arises

Liverpool receive selection boost for Brentford clash, but new injury setback arises

Liverpool’s quest for the Premier League title intensifies on Saturday as they make the trip to face Brentford. The pressure has undoubtedly increased for Jürgen Klopp’s side.

While there is no question that Liverpool have been the top and most consistent team in the league this season, their form has shown signs of slipping slightly since the start of the new year.

A 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur means Arne Slot’s team faces a tough challenge in the return leg at Anfield next month. Additionally, Liverpool has failed to secure victories in their last two league games. However, a 2-2 draw against arch-rivals Manchester United at home and a 1-1 draw at surprise high-flyers Nottingham Forest could still be considered valuable points over the course of the season.

That 1-1 draw at Forest, in particular, has been capitalized on by Arsenal, whose 2-1 win over Tottenham in the north London derby on Wednesday closed the gap between them and the league leaders to just four points. However, Liverpool still have a game in hand.

A win for Liverpool in the 3 pm kick-off at the Gtech Community Stadium would see them restore their seven-point lead over Arsenal, putting additional pressure on Mikel Arteta’s injury-hit squad ahead of their 5:30 pm match against Aston Villa at the Emirates.

The good news for Arne Slot is that, unlike Arteta, he has almost a fully fit squad to choose from. The squad will be further strengthened by the return of striker Darwin Núñez, who missed the trip to Forest due to suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

It remains uncertain whether the Uruguayan will start straight away, particularly given that Diogo Jota has emerged as a strong candidate for a starting spot after his quick and clinical equalizer at the City Ground. However, Jota is now a major doubt for the Brentford clash after missing training on Thursday.

Despite this, Liverpool still has strong options in attack and midfield, but the defense raises some concerns. The team has only kept three clean sheets in their last 11 games across all competitions. With Ibrahima Konaté and Conor Bradley still regaining full fitness after long-term injuries, and Andy Robertson struggling to return to his best form, the absence of versatile defender Joe Gomez is being felt more than ever.

As it stands, Gomez will miss out on the trip to Brentford, and it now seems likely that Jota will join him on the sidelines.

  • Diogo Jota’s clever remark to Kostas Tsimikas before they teamed up for Liverpool’s goal

    Kostas Tsimikas

Jota and Tsimikas came on as second-half substitutes with Forest leading 1-0, and just two seconds after the restart, Liverpool equalized. Jota leaped to head in Tsimikas’ corner, bringing the score level.

This marks the second time the duo has combined for a goal in an away game at Forest. In the 2022 FA Cup quarter-final, Tsimikas crossed for Jota to score the only goal of the match.

Jota shared that he mentioned this past goal to Tsimikas before they entered the field. He told TNT Sports: “I actually said to him, we were watching the cup goal two or three years ago, where he passed it to me, and we were on the touchline there and I was just saying, ‘yeah, let’s go now and recreate the assist, take the corner,’ and it was a goal. It was one of those situations, everything went right, but I’m not happy because I think we could’ve won.”

Jota’s arrival sparked an improvement in Liverpool’s performance, and he had several opportunities to increase his tally. He reflected: “I love to score goals, I scored with my first touch today that gave the team momentum. I had two more chances that could’ve given us three points, unfortunately I couldn’t.”

Regarding Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels’ impressive performance, Jota remarked: “I was telling my previous coaches at Wolves. I think he made two great saves, obviously you want to do better but I think he was good as well.”

On Liverpool’s unbeaten away record in the Premier League this season, he concluded: “I think it’s a long way [to go this season]. Every ground you go, even at home it’s always hard, it’s one more point, but obviously we wanted the win.”

Omar Marmoush comments released as ‘Liverpool target confirms transfer agreement’

Omar Marmoush comments released as 'Liverpool target confirms transfer agreement'

In a live update on the potential transfer saga of Omar Marmoush, it appears that the Egyptian forward could be heading to Manchester City this month, although Eintracht Frankfurt has yet to receive an official offer for the player, who is having a stellar season.

Speaking to the press, Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krosche confirmed, “There is still no inquiry, no email, no offer. Our intention is to keep the squad together.” This comes amid growing speculation linking Marmoush to top Premier League clubs, with reports from Sky Sports suggesting the 25-year-old has agreed a deal in principle to join Manchester City.

Marmoush has been in sensational form this season, with 18 goals and 12 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for Frankfurt, making him one of Europe’s standout performers. Only Mohamed Salah has more goal contributions than Marmoush in the top five leagues. The forward, who plays alongside Salah for the Egypt national team, looks more likely to move to Manchester City than Liverpool at this stage.

Negotiations between City and Frankfurt are reportedly set to begin soon, as Marmoush has reportedly agreed to be part of Pep Guardiola’s squad. Frankfurt is believed to value the player at around $82 million, but Manchester City is expected to push for a deal closer to $52 million to $62 million. Frankfurt is likely to reject any offers significantly below their asking price.

City, who are currently without a recognized backup for Erling Haaland after selling Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid last summer, are looking to bolster their attacking options. While Haaland has scored 21 goals in 27 appearances this season, Phil Foden is the next highest scorer for City with just five goals, two of which have come in the Premier League. The addition of Marmoush could provide a valuable alternative, offering more versatility, agility, and a different playing style compared to Haaland—similar to the profile of Alvarez.

  • Liverpool vs Leicester predicted lineup: Diogo Jota and Andy Robertson decisions confirmed

Liverpool vs Leicester predicted lineup: Diogo Jota and Andy Robertson decisions confirmed

Liverpool will aim to solidify their position

Liverpool will aim to solidify their position at the top of the Premier League when they face Leicester City today, with Arne Slot facing key decisions regarding his lineup.

With Christmas now behind them, Liverpool shifts focus back to their pursuit of the Premier League title.

The Reds host Leicester City later today, and a win would ensure they enter 2025 atop the league. Chelsea’s match against Fulham earlier in the day could give Liverpool a chance to extend their four-point lead if the Blues drop points.

Liverpool are strong favorites at Anfield, where they meet Leicester for the first time since the Foxes’ return to the Premier League under former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. However, Slot faces some tricky decisions about his team.

As usual, Alisson Becker will start in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, and Virgil van Dijk holding their places in defense. The first decision concerns the left-back position.

Andy Robertson, back from suspension against Tottenham, performed better than in the Fulham match, although Dejan Kulusevski tested him. However, Slot often rotates his left-backs, so it would not be surprising if Kostas Tsimikas returned to the starting lineup here.

In midfield, Slot faces a dilemma. Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai all impressed against Spurs, but with two of them one yellow card away from suspension, caution may be required.

Liverpool will aim to solidify their position

Gravenberch and Szoboszlai are the at-risk players, and Slot must decide whether to risk both. We believe he might avoid playing both, so we predict Curtis Jones will replace Szoboszlai.

Mohamed Salah will start on the right, leaving the left and No.9 positions up for grabs. With Darwin Nunez out of form, the remaining spots are likely to be between Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota.

Diaz, having impressed at Tottenham, keeps his place in our lineup, while it might be time for Jota to start for the first time since October.

Predicted Liverpool line-up vs Leicester: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Diaz; Jota.

Diogo Jota pushing for a return to Liverpool's starting lineup following Southampton victory

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota is eagerly anticipating the semi-finals after making his second consecutive substitute appearance in their 2-1 League Cup victory over Southampton on Wednesday (December 18).

The 28-year-old is still regaining his fitness following a rib injury sustained during Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea earlier this season.

Darwin Nunez gave Liverpool the lead in the 24th minute, and Harvey Elliott extended it just after the half-hour mark. Southampton forward Cameron Archer added some tension with a goal in the 59th minute, but it was only a consolation as Liverpool secured their place in the semi-finals.

Jota had missed 13 games across all competitions before making his much-anticipated return in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Fulham on Saturday (December 14), scoring the equalizer in the 86th minute.

Despite his absence, Liverpool has managed well, sitting atop the Premier League and progressing through the new Champions League league phase.

Diogo Jota pushing for a return to Liverpool’s starting lineup following Southampton victory

Before his injury, Jota was a key player for manager Arne Slot, starting nine of his 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 664 minutes of play.

After the 2-1 League Cup win over Southampton, Jota took to Instagram to celebrate their progress, writing: “Semi finals,” accompanied by a flexing arm emoji.

Liverpool could go into their Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday (December 22) in second place, depending on the outcome of Chelsea’s early match against Everton on the same day. However, Slot’s side still has a game in hand after their fixture with Sean Dyche’s team was postponed due to severe weather caused by Storm Darragh.

“Winger Confirmed Out for 10 Weeks as Liverpool vs Fulham Team News is Revealed”

    Marco Silva

Fulham manager Marco Silva provided an injury update ahead of their Premier League match against Liverpool.

Silva acknowledged that Fulham will not have any players returning for their upcoming trip to Liverpool.

Liverpool will host Fulham at Anfield on Saturday (3pm GMT), aiming to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points. Head coach Arne Slot will be pushing for improvements from his team after expressing dissatisfaction with their performance in a 1-0 Champions League win over Girona.

Fulham has had a strong start to the season, sitting 10th in the league after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal last weekend. However, they will travel to Merseyside without key defenders Calvin Bassey, who is serving a one-match suspension, and Joachim Andersen (calf injury). Additionally, captain Tom Cairney is completing the final match of a three-game ban, Harrison Reed remains unavailable, and on-loan Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is sidelined for 10 weeks.

At his pre-match press conference, Silva said: “No fresh news really, just Joachim and Harrison Reed, plus Reiss Nelson from the game we played against Brighton. They are going to be out, and of course, the third game of Tom Cairney’s suspension, plus the fifth yellow card from Calvin Bassey.”

He continued: “It is difficult to have a really precise time in this situation. I believe that Joa probably is going to be the closest one to come [back] but 100% not this week. Harrison Reed, we have to see, step by step. Reiss Nelson is going to be longer. Difficult to say when he’s going to be back. Probably around 10 weeks.”

Regarding Liverpool, Silva stated: “They’re the most consistent team in this league so far and are strong in any moment of the game. They make life difficult for any team they play. They’re great in terms of collective quality, the impact of the manager and individual quality. Everything together is why they are top of the league.”

  • Arne Slot has six assured starters for Southampton – Liverpool must not squander this opportunity

Arne Slot has six assured starters for Southampton – Liverpool must not squander this opportunity

    Diogo Jota

In the second part of his ECHO column, John Aldridge discusses Diogo Jota’s return and the importance of the Carabao Cup for Liverpool.

The biggest positive from Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Fulham at Anfield was Diogo Jota’s return after a two-month absence. The Portuguese striker appeared as though he had never been gone, scoring an excellent goal to equalize at 2-2. While Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo have been in fantastic form and Liverpool hasn’t lost a game without Jota, his presence has still been missed.

Before his injury against Chelsea on October 20, Jota’s season had been somewhat inconsistent, but he looked sharper than ever when he came on against Fulham. His timing was perfect, and he appeared like a greyhound ready to spring into action, showing remarkable composure for his equalizer. The calmness he displayed in that moment, especially considering how little he’s played and it being his first chance to score since returning, was impressive.

Looking ahead to Liverpool’s game against Southampton on Wednesday, Jota should start. He needs the minutes, and this is an ideal opportunity for him to get them. Federico Chiesa might also be a good inclusion, and perhaps even Darwin Nunez, who could benefit from a goal. That would make a strong front three for the match.

In midfield, Harvey Elliott could use the minutes, as could Curtis Jones. This also seems like a good game for Alexis Mac Allister to regain some rhythm, especially since he hasn’t played since the Newcastle match, which will have been two weeks by Wednesday. So that covers the frontline and midfield.

However, Liverpool’s injury concerns are at the back. Southampton, who were heavily beaten by Tottenham on Sunday and have lost their manager, Russell Martin, may have something to prove as well.

So, how seriously should manager Jürgen Klopp take this match? For Aldridge, the Carabao Cup is crucial, especially since it’s the quarter-finals. He points out that it provided one of the best moments of last season when Liverpool’s young players triumphed over Chelsea in the final. The Carabao Cup is also the competition Liverpool has won the most, making it worth pursuing. Despite injury concerns, Liverpool boasts a strong squad and should push for the win. Southampton has its own problems, with a focus on Premier League survival likely at the forefront of their minds.

Winning the Carabao Cup could provide a huge boost for Liverpool, adding to the fixture list but also creating lasting memories, as evidenced by their Wembley victory earlier this year. Aldridge expresses a clear desire to win the competition.

Latest Update on Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota’s Availability

Latest Update on Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota's Availability

Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota may make their return to the Liverpool squad this weekend.

Both forwards have been sidelined since September and October, but they are now back in training with their teammates.

Liverpool will host Fulham in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday, and Chiesa and Jota could be part of the squad.

Head coach Arne Slot commented during his pre-match press conference: “I think they are [available].”

“We have one training session to go. Federico missed quite a lot for a long time, was ill last week, so we have to wait and see how he is exactly doing. But maybe Diogo is in the squad and maybe Federico as well, but that depends a bit on the numbers we have and also how he recovered from his illness.”

Regarding Chiesa’s progress towards match fitness, Slot said: “What makes it difficult is that we play so many games. What he needs is playing time, and the problem is if you haven’t played for five or six months, it is sometimes difficult for a manager to give him his first minutes, because you don’t exactly know what you can expect. Yes, I see him on the training ground, but ideally, you see him in a friendly during the week or you see him in an U21 game or something like this – but that is not the situation we have, we play so many games.”

“Maybe the Southampton game might be a good moment for him to get some playing minutes and then we know a bit better what we can expect from him. Of course, we see his qualities, we know his qualities, but he needs to get this fitness level. If you only have training sessions, that is not the same as playing time. You need to have playing time to reach certain fitness levels. But if you are competing for the league and competing in the Champions League, it’s not always easy to find these minutes, unless we are sometimes 4-0 or 5-0 up.”

“But for the whole season, I think it was only once, against Bournemouth at home 3-0 up at half-time, for the rest it’s been a struggle or a fight until the last second of every game.”

Exclusive news: Arsenal and Liverpool tracking Brazilian winger for possible transfer

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on highly-rated Brazilian winger Gabriel Pec of LA Galaxy, according to sources who spoke with CaughtOffside.

Both clubs, along with several other Premier League teams, have had scouts monitoring Pec, who is emerging as an exciting young prospect.

The 23-year-old has caught attention with his performances in the MLS, leading to interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Wolves, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Napoli.

While Pec is being considered as a potential future target for top clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool, it is still uncertain whether they will make a move for him in the near future.

Nevertheless, it is clear that the South American talent is one to watch, and if he continues to impress with his form in the US, top clubs are likely to show interest in signing him.

Could Gabriel Pec be a surprise solution for Arsenal and Liverpool?

Pec could eventually offer something different for Arsenal’s attack, especially with Mikel Arteta facing a shortage of options in that area.

The Gunners often rely heavily on Bukayo Saka to create opportunities up front, but Pec could provide an alternative or even an upgrade on inconsistent players like Gabriel Martinelli. Moreover, loan signing Raheem Sterling is unlikely to remain at the Emirates Stadium beyond this season.

Liverpool, too, might want to explore new attacking options as Mohamed Salah’s contract nears its end, and Diogo Jota has struggled with injuries.

Although the Reds would need a truly exceptional player to replace someone of Salah’s caliber, Pec has the potential to become a key player for a club of Liverpool’s stature in the future.

Liverpool may face a significant issue as a key player hints at a possible transfer

Liverpool may face a significant issue as a key player hints at a possible transfer.

Recent updates from Liverpool reveal that a player has shared thoughts on his future away from the club while on international duty, despite a strong season start.

Diogo Jota’s ascendance to the starting line-up, taking Darwin Nunez’s place last season under Jurgen Klopp and continuing under Arne Slot, marks a significant change for the team this year. Although both players featured in the match against West Ham United at Anfield during the Carabao Cup third round, typically, it has been one or the other in the starting lineup.

Nunez has made only three starts this season, whereas Jota has rarely begun games on the bench, doing so just twice. Speculation regarding Nunez’s future circulated during the summer, but remaining with the club could be beneficial in the long term.

This is partly because his teammate has expressed a desire to return to play in Portugal one day. However, he admits that a move is not on the horizon.

Recent updates from Liverpool reveal that a player has shared thoughts

“I would say that returning doesn’t make much sense now, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility in the future,” Jota mentioned during a press conference on Thursday. Despite being a Portugal international, he has played fewer than 80 games in the country while at Pacos de Ferreira and Porto before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jota added: “It will depend on my level and the combination of factors that need to align. At this stage, I would say that in the future, I would like to return.”

Although he is currently the “main man” up front for Liverpool, Ian Wright believes Nunez could pose a “massive problem” for opposing defenses if he were to find his scoring form. On the Wrighty’s House podcast, he posed the question: “Can you imagine if Nunez could score consistently?”

However, Wright concluded: “I’ve seen enough of him now. I thought it would eventually click for him, but it hasn’t. If it did, Liverpool would definitely be clear favorites for the (Premier League) title.”

Arsenal plans bold move for £125m Liverpool target after transfer reversal

Arsenal is reportedly considering a bold move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian

Arsenal is reportedly considering a bold move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz in 2025, following Liverpool’s interest over the summer.

The 21-year-old Wirtz has drawn attention from several top European clubs after a standout season, scoring 18 goals for the German champions. His impressive performance at Euro 2024 this summer and four league goals in as many matches this season have further heightened interest in him.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal is experiencing a revival, rekindling their appeal as they pursue some of Europe’s top talents. According to a report from SportBild, via Sport Witness, Arsenal has joined Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in vying for Wirtz, who attracted significant transfer interest over the summer.

Arsenal has been a long-time admirer of Wirtz, valued at €150 million (£125 million), having scouted him even before his move to Leverkusen in 2020, although he wasn’t interested in a transfer to England at that time.

Having won the Bundesliga title last year, Wirtz is now seeking a club capable of Champions League success to enhance his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or in the future.

Arsenal’s resurgence under Arteta makes them a feasible option, although Real Madrid is reportedly the frontrunner to secure Wirtz next summer, particularly given their interest in Leverkusen’s head coach, Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool had shown strong interest in Wirtz ahead of Euro 2024, but his father, Hans, addressed the speculation directly, clarifying that his son was not seeking a transfer at that time. He stated to Bild: “Florian has a contract in Leverkusen.

And he’s looking forward to next year at Bayer 04 when he can play in the Champions League with Leverkusen for the first time. Those are the facts.

“Now the focus is on the Euros. After that there’s a lot to do with the club next season, so there’s no need for speculation. There’s really nothing to say beyond that.”

Liverpool update: Jurgen Klopp’s undisclosed job agreement as Diogo Jota finalizes deal with Porto

Jurgen Klopp's decision to join Red Bull

Jurgen Klopp’s decision to join Red Bull surprised Liverpool fans, but the renowned German manager has been preparing for this next chapter for years.

Jurgen Klopp has a new role.

Five months after bidding an emotional farewell to Anfield, the cherished former Liverpool manager has accepted the position of head of global soccer at Red Bull. This move has sparked controversy due to Red Bull’s ongoing unpopularity in German football. Although the announcement was made on Wednesday, the agreement has been in place longer than initially believed.

Meanwhile, Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has taken advantage of the international break to pursue interests beyond football by collaborating with his former club Porto. Additionally, right-back Conor Bradley has discussed his position under Arne Slot.

Klopp accepted Red Bull job while still at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s transition to Red Bull has been in the works for two years. The former Liverpool manager revealed on Wednesday that he will start his new role in January. It has now come to light that he agreed to this move in 2022 for a meaningful reason.

According to the German outlet TZ, Klopp attended a private meeting in Salzburg with Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who was terminally ill at the time. Mateschitz personally persuaded Klopp to join Red Bull, but he passed away just a few weeks later at the age of 78.

Jurgen Klopp's decision to join Red Bull

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has formed a partnership with his former club Porto in the eSports arena. The 27-year-old played for Porto on loan during the 2016-17 season before moving to Wolves.

Now, he has aligned his eSports team, Luna, with Porto. Luna competes in popular games like EA Sports FC, Dota 2, and Rocket League.

    Bradley refutes Liverpool speculation

Jurgen Klopp's decision to join Red Bull

Conor Bradley believes there isn’t much distinction between his responsibilities at Liverpool and for Northern Ireland, despite playing a more attacking role for his national team. Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neil counts on the 21-year-old as his sole Premier League player, assigning him the task of advancing the play.

When asked before their match against Belarus if he feels additional pressure while representing his country, Bradley stated, “It’s different, but it’s similar as well. When I play for Liverpool, I’m almost playing as a right winger sometimes because we usually have most of the possession in games, so I’m quite high up, trying to create chances for the strikers.”
