Following his “invitation to shadow Jurgen Klopp” at Liverpool, Fernando Torres will depart from Atletico Madrid.

The former striker may be elevated to coach the team’s reserves during talks between Torres and club executives, which are expected to take place at the end of the month. Nevertheless, discussions for current manager Luis Garcia Tevenet to join Diego Simeone’s first squad coaching staff have not come to fruition despite Tevenet’s stellar work with Atletico’s B team.

Though it’s unclear what Torres’ future holds, the former Liverpool player had a great time returning to Anfield last weekend. “I’ve had the opportunity to see how everything works from the inside, which is great,” he stated to the reporters.

“The AXA training facility is much different from when I was here, and I’m a huge supporter of Jurgen and his staff there. It’s evident that the club is growing, and I get to witness why.

“There are a number of reasons for that, but it’s great to have the opportunity to come here and meet Jurgen, Pep (Lijnders) and all the staff and learn and try to understand Liverpool’s style. ”

And Torres responded, “Many things,” when asked what he had discovered by following Klopp around. Perhaps the most important factor is Jurgen’s and his staff’s charisma and character with the players. The most important thing, in my opinion, is that he treats everyone like family.

“I firmly believe in the camaraderie that exists amongst the players, staff, employees, and other club members. It’s essential to acting in this manner. It’s rather pleasant to know that they share my perspective from the inside.

The club holds Klopp’s number two in high regard for his efforts, and the German manager recognises Pep’s input.

Romano has denied reports in the media that the assistant manager is well-liked by the players and that they would like to see him succeed Klopp.

An experienced manager is needed at Liverpool.

The Dutch manager may need some time to get experience at another club before accepting the position at the Premier League team, thus it’s possible that the Anfield job is too early for him.

For the time being, Lijnders appears to be a wonderful fit for Ajax, one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands that is in need of renovation.

John van t Schip, the interim manager who was hired in October, has the Dutch squad in a transitional phase as they trail leaders PSV by 31 points at the moment.

After Liverpool offered Salah the chance to come to England in 2017, the 31-year-old has not looked back, and he is currently regarded as the team’s most valuable player. He has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season alone, keeping the Reds in the running for several titles.

Salah has already acknowledged that he sought a move outside of England because he was unable to handle the pressure of playing for Chelsea at such a young age. “It was really hard for me mentally,” he stated. I was under too much external pressure from the media, too much for me to bear. I was hardly playing at all. I thought, “No, I have to leave.”

A transfer target for Liverpool has already revealed his “dream,” with Fernando Torres hint spotted

A possible summer transfer for Morten Frendrup is being watched by Liverpool, and the Genoa midfielder has already expressed his thoughts about joining Anfield.

Even though the January transfer market is still open, Liverpool might be planning for the summer already. Any significant inflows are far more likely to occur then than they are right now.

Still, a lot of people will be watching Anfield this month. With the season almost passed halfway through, the Reds have set a high bar for themselves as the Premier League leaders, and their opponents will be trying to obtain an advantage in the transfer market.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool adds any players to the roster this month, however Jürgen Klopp has downplayed any rumours that additions have already been made. Despite the possibility that no one will show up right away, the club is nonetheless keeping an eye out.

The ECHO reports that Liverpool is keeping an eye on Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the campaign since a January transfer seems improbable. Despite Wataru Endō and Alexis Mac Allister both playing at number six this season, it appears the Reds are still looking for a fresh addition.

An intriguing, if rather unexpected, target is Frendrup. The 22-year-old, who assisted Genoa in their return to Serie A last season, is enjoying a successful season with the Italian team.

If Liverpool supporters are curious in the defensive midfielder, they may have come across an interview published by Serie A a few weeks back. Even before the ad begins, titled “The best ball-winner in Serie A,” it portrays a bright future for the Reds.

However, a minute or so later, something will have captured Liverpool supporters’ attention even more. The first photo, which the interviewer is showing Frendrup, is of the midfielder when he was younger, standing in front of a poster of Fernando Torres from his time at Anfield.

According to Frendrup, the photo was taken while he was attending a boarding school in his home country of Denmark, where he was hoping to sign Daniel Agger for Liverpool from Brøndby. Although the Torres poster isn’t mentioned in the conversation, it was already established that the midfield player adores Liverpool.

A 16-year-old Frendrup discusses his aspirations to play professional football and his experience relocating to a boarding school in an interview published in 2018 with the Danish publication Sjaellandske Nyheder. He says in the interview that Liverpool is his favourite team and that he hopes to one day move to Anfield.

I’ve always had this dream, and I think it will come true. I think I can succeed if I work hard,” Frendrup remarked. The story also features the image of the Torres poster, with the caption describing the former striker as Frendrup’s hero.

If acquiring a new number six is still a top priority later in the season, Liverpool will seem to be headed in the correct direction. The Reds are obviously interested in Frendrup, and a transfer may fulfil his ambition.

Carragher selects two men to take Salah’s place at Liverpool – It’ll be intriguing

Harvey Elliot and Dominik Szoboszlai have been selected by Liverpool great Jamie Carragher to take Mohamed Salah’s position when he leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later this month.

On Monday night, Salah scored two goals for Liverpool against Newcastle United while playing in outstanding form.

The Reds’ victory sent them three points clear atop the Premier League standings, and the Egyptian international also contributed an assist.

Salah’s final game for Liverpool before joining the Egypt team was the encounter against Newcastle.

If Egypt advances to the AFCON final in Ivory Coast, Salah may miss up to eight games for Liverpool, which would provide manager Jurgen Klopp with a difficult offensive situation.

But before Salah leaves for the AFCON, Carragher has picked Elliot and Szoboszlai to fill in for him.

Carragher told Sky Sports, “It will be very interesting to see who he puts in that position.”

Call from Fernando Torres to Liverpool secure $17.5 million transfer

A phone call from Fernando Torres helped convince ex-Liverpool defender Glen Johnson to join the club in 2011 instead of Chelsea and Manchester City.

Johnson moved to Anfield in 2009 after a three-year spell at Portsmouth where he won an FA Cup and played European football.

After an excellent spell at Fratton Park following his departure from Chelsea, the defender has established himself in the English squad and as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.

His move to Liverpool saw him win the League Cup in 2012, and he was a regular in the team that finished runners-up in the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers in 2013/14.

He made exactly 200 appearances in all competitions as a Reds player before being released in 2015, before spending the last three seasons of his career at Stoke. Johnson has since openly explained what led to his move to Liverpool, while rejecting bids from Manchester City and Chelsea, who wanted to re-sign him.

One of the Reds’ key players at the time was Fernando Torres, the Spaniard signed from Atlético Madrid in 2007.
In his first two seasons with the club, he scored 38 Premier League goals. At this point, there were still 18 months to go before his ill-fated £50million move to Chelsea.

And Johnson explained in a 2021 interview how the Liverpool striker, along with star teammates Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso, played a key role in his decision to move to Anfield despite Liverpool’s inability to continuously compete for the Premier League to fight for titles in the seasons before his arrival.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “Obviously when a club like Liverpool comes knocking you immediately have an eye and an interest.”

“But what a momentum it was, we played for England that summer just before I signed and I had a good chat with Stevie. And then I also spoke to Torres and Alonso before signing.

“I just thought they were some of the best players in the world. They don’t have to call me, but they called me to tell me how much they wanted me to participate.”
“I immediately felt like I knew her and felt super welcomed before I signed and everything went smoothly.”
