Arne Slot has been instructed to sign another Philippe Coutinho, and Liverpool is preparing a move for the $98 million star who is also being considered by Real Madrid and PSG.

Arne Slot will take over as Liverpool’s coach on June 1st, but in actuality, Jürgen Klopp has left and the Dutchman is already in charge at Anfield. Plans for transfers will be initiated appropriately.

The Liverpool team that Klopp leaves behind is a strong one, so little tweaks and adjustments are needed rather than drastic changes this summer. A center-back, who can take Joël Matip’s place, is essential. On top of that, another midfielder, preferably a number six specialist, and an attacker would be good.

This is Liverpool.com’s assessment of the transfer rumours circulating about the Reds today, which include the suggestion that Slot be urged to purchase a player rather than Philippe Coutinho. Regarding a young defender who is well regarded, there is also an update.

    Florian Wirtz – (Bayern Leverkusen)

Florian Wirtz, an attacking midfielder for Germany and Bayer Leverkusen, has been recommended to Liverpool for this summer’s transfer window. Although Arne Slot’s team already has a wealth of attacking potential, you can never have too many excellent options.

Under Xabi Alonso, Wirtz led Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title this season with 18 goals and 20 assists. However, he and his teammates lost the Europa League final because they played below expectations against Atalanta.

Former Liverpool midfielder Vladimír Šmicer told OLBG, “If I could urge Liverpool to sign anyone this summer, it would be Florian Wirtz.” He’s a player who makes me think of Philippe Coutinho. Fans of Liverpool adore players like that. Since Bobby Firmino was also a really well-liked player, I’d choose Wirtz.

“I noticed Arne Slot’s work when I met him during Slavia Prague’s two Feyenoord games. Calmness is key to his system and mindset. He is excellent. I hope he can bring it to Liverpool since his squad is aware of exactly how he wants to play.”

According to Liverpool.com, Wirtz would undoubtedly be a well-liked choice, but how much would he cost? A decent benchmark might be anything like what Real Madrid paid for Jude Bellingham in the previous summer. He really is that talented.

    Leny Yoro – (Lille)

    Leny Yoro (Lille)

Liverpool’s interest has hampered PSG’s pursuit of Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro, according to L’Equipe. The report claims that Real Madrid is also eager to sign the 18-year-old centre back.

Although Lille understands it has no leverage in any negotiations because Yoro’s contract expires in 2025, the team would prefer to pay as much as $98 million (£77 million/€90 million) for the player. The Ligue 1 team might have used the money more than it would have otherwise because it was not selected for the Champions League this season.

According to Liverpool.com; Yoro seems like a true talent, but spending a lot of money on a teenager would be risky. But Liverpool ought to give him some thought if the price is right.

Liverpool will make €70 million move for Florian Wirtz if Xabi Alonso joins

If Liverpool are successful in hiring Xabi Alonso as their manager for the upcoming campaign, they would probably try to sign Florian Wirtz.

Fichajes claims that if Liverpool chooses to choose Xabi Alonso as their new manager, they may make a spectacular bid for Florian Wirtz. At Beyer Leverkusen, the German playmaker has flourished under the Spanish boss; nonetheless, his transfer fee is expected to exceed the reported €70 million.

Liverpool to bring Florian Wirtz alongside Xabi Alonso?

The club and its supporters have been devastated by Jurgen Klopp’s decision to quit Liverpool at the end of the current campaign. The Merseysiders, however, are keen to create a succession plan in the time they have left before the German leaves.

As Klopp’s long-term replacement, Liverpool is prioritising Xabi Alonso, who is expected to join the team should the club make a bid for him. Leverkusen may have an easy time bringing their former midfielder back because they are aware that their manager may depart for a bigger challenge.

Liverpool may attack Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz, their top asset, in addition to Alonso. The German playmaker has long piqued the curiosity of the Reds, who may make the Bundesliga team an offer of €70 million to sign him.

The Leverkusen tandem is someone Liverpool hopes to have at the team for the upcoming campaign. Numerous other elite teams are also keeping an eye on Alonso. The Bundesliga team would demand nearly twice as much to trade Wirtz, so they are unlikely to accept any offers in the €70 million range.

Liverpool will face top competition for Wirtz.

According to reports, Wirtz is almost certain to sign a new deal, which might include a significant release clause added at the player and his father’s desire. Because of this action, Leverkusen will be able to demand a high price when they sell him—reports have indicated that they are looking to get around €130 million.

Tottenham and Barcelona are also interested, in addition to Real Madrid and Manchester City. If Liverpool is successful in hiring Alonso as their next manager, they will undoubtedly have the upper hand in the competition for Wirtz.

Chris Sutton, who had previously questioned if the 32-year-old was past his prime, has now acknowledged that he has been proven utterly wrong by a Liverpool player this season.

This season, Jurgen Klopp’s team is still having difficulty on all four fronts, and Virgil Van Dijk has been a major factor in the Reds’ strong play.

After Jordan Henderson left for Saudi Arabia in the summer, the Dutchman was given the armband, and the centre defender has since excelled.

Liverpool has given up the fewest goals in the Premier League so far this year (18), and Sutton acknowledges that his misgivings about the Netherlands international were unfounded.

The former Celtic striker commented on BBC Football Daily, “I have to admit, I wondered whether he could get back to his imperious best as a defender after the injury” (via Rousing The Kop). I used to believe he was the world’s best defender. I simply assumed that he might have lost a garden or something. It’s no accident that Klopp’s team is playing at its peak right now—our No. 4 is also playing at his best—because of his intimidating presence in the backline, which intimidates forwards.

This term, he’s setting an excellent example and would be thrilled to win some hardware in his capacity as Liverpool captain.

Barcelona and Liverpool have already started corresponding with Florian Wirtz in anticipation of a move early in the upcoming summer.

Barcelona and Liverpool are attempting to have an early advantage in the competition for Florian Wirtz, according to German publication Sport1. Giants in the Premier League and Spain have reached out to the player’s camp in an attempt to finalise a deal for next summer.

The Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are listed as the top candidate in the article highlighting Liverpool and Barcelona’s interest for Florian Wirtz. According to the reporter, Bayer Leverkusen won’t consider selling the 20-year-old Bundesliga prodigy until the 2024–2025 season is over, so any proposals made the following summer may encounter resistance.

However, Liverpool, Barcelona, and numerous other teams have already made offers with the intention of signing the German prodigy for the upcoming summer. According to reports, the Premier League and Spanish powerhouses have gotten in touch with the agents of players to inquire about possible trades.

As he continues to support Bayer Leverkusen in their pursuit of the Bundesliga championship under Xabi Alonso, Wirtz is one of the team’s most valuable assets going forward. There is no shortage of suitors for the 20-year-old Bundesliga player; Real Madrid is rumoured to be willing to spend a high price to sign him.

Manchester United and City are among the many teams vying for this talent; there is a lengthy queue in the backdrop. Given that Wirtz is among the greatest players in the Bundesliga, Bayern are unavoidably in the chase. But he can also be drawn in by attention from overseas.

After Wirtz leaves Bayer Leverkusen, the long-term performance of German players outside of the Bundesliga will still be taken into consideration. In order to have the 20-year-old available for the Champions League run the following season, the club is determined to maximise his worth.

Both Barcelona and Liverpool are keen to sign Wirtz in the summer. With their alleged advances to the player’s side, the two are attempting to get an advantage over the competition. But unless Bayer Leverkusen receives a very good offer, it is unlikely that they will allow him to depart next summer.

In October, Barcelona withdrew from the race for this reason alone. However, if circumstances improve for the Catalans, they may sit down again. Other than Barcelona and Liverpool, a lot of clubs are currently battling for Wirtz, which will make him one of the hottest properties in Europe come football season.

Hakan Calhanoglu is being pursued by West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

    Hakan Calhanoglu

Hakan Calhanoglu, 29, of Inter Milan, is a midfield player that Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham United would all love to have on their team.

A report from Calciomercato claims that West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all interested in hiring Hakan Calhanoglu. Since joining Inter Milan, the 29-year-old has been performing admirably, and his outstanding efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Prior to joining Inter Milan in the summer of 2021, Calhanoglu was a member of AC Milan. Since joining Inter, he has only become better. The club’s defensive midfielder has made appearances in 112 games and has helped contribute to 41 goals.

Over the years, the Turkish international has played every position on the pitch. In his early years, the 29-year-old playmaker was frequently spotted on the wings or up top, but at this point in his career, he likes to play as a holding midfielder or a central midfielder.

With more than three years remaining on his contract, he has been a vital member of Inter Milan’s first team in recent seasons. Nevertheless, he might have to leave them in the summer of next year as Premier League teams try to sign him.

Even though Liverpool added a lot of midfield players over the summer, their transformation is far from finished. With his expertise, Calhanoglu may be a wonderful match as a deep-lying playmaker. They need another defensive midfielder.

Chelsea may be concentrating on acquiring young athletes with enormous potential. To maintain order, they do require some experience among their ranks. Despite having a number of defensive midfielders already, they may still want to sign Calhanoglu because of his versatility in both attacking and centre midfield roles.

West Ham United, meanwhile, has long been a fan of the 29-year-old. They intended to sign him as Lucas Paquetà’s replacement throughout the summer. The Brazilian ultimately decided to remain at the London club, and the Inter midfielder’s singing was abandoned.

The Hammers will seek Calhanoglu, and an offer of about €50 million might get them there regardless of what happens with Paqueta next summer. Even though Inter would prefer to hang onto their star, their financial difficulties are still present. Also, since he was a free agent when he signed with them in the past, his departure might enable them to make a tidy profit.

These days, Man City and Liverpool compete not just on the football but also in the transfer market.

Given that both teams play visually appealing, high-intensity football in a similar manner, it makes sense that they would be interested in the same targets.

One of them is Florian Wirtz, a 20-year-old prodigy for Bayer Leverkusen.

Even if it seems highly improbable that Xabi Alonso will approve a trade at this time, 90Min reports that both Premier League clubs are determined to compete for the signature of the German, who is regarded as one of the game’s brightest talents.

The fact that Bayer is still undefeated and leads the Bundesliga table above Bayern Munich—who are still big fans of Wirtz—means that the team doesn’t really need to entertain any offers for its star player right now.

With 13 Bundesliga games, three goals, five assists, and eight more goal contributions in other cup competitions, according to 90Min, it’s clear that each prospective employer is interested in hiring you.

If Alonso could lead Bayer to their first-ever German Bundesliga championship, that seems like the perfect time for him to step down as coach and maybe go back to one of his previous teams.

By doing that, it may lead to a migration that might very well involve Wirtz.

Liverpool and Man City would therefore be well to keep in mind the virtue of patience.

Liverpool and Chelsea are vying to sign an attacking prodigy with a “great future.”

    Francesco Camarda

There are reports that Francesco Camarda, a young Italian forward with promise, is being watched by Chelsea and Liverpool.

According to a report from 90 Min, the two Premier League clubs have taken notice of the 15-year-old’s performances. In order to play Fiorentina, the attacker was just called up to the AC Milan first squad, making him the youngest debutant in Serie A and AC Milan history.

It is hardly surprising that Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in the attacker, who is undoubtedly a gifted player with a bright future ahead of him.

Both teams have demonstrated a willingness to invest in young, gifted players, and they may be able to develop him into a future star.

With almost 400 goals in his young career, the 15-year-old is attracting interest from several European teams, including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund.

If Chelsea or Liverpool could get him, that would be quite the coup.

Camarda has the potential to become an important member of the Blues’ squad in the near future, but they still need to add attacking reinforcements. With the addition of Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea has not been able to address their goal-scoring issues, and they will soon need to add another striker.

Jurgen Klopp may help the 15-year-old become a vital member of the Liverpool team and serve as Darwin Nunez’s perfect temporary replacement.

Milan is unlikely to let go of the 15-year-old anytime soon, so the English teams would likely need to make a higher offer before they will be persuaded to reconsider.

Both players will go down in history as two of the greatest-ever players in the division because of their enormous contributions to City’s and Liverpool’s dominance in the Premier League in recent seasons. For their goals, assists, and all-around skills, both are well-known.

In their careers, they have combined for 213 Premier League goals and six Premier League crowns. Both players are gifted athletes who can pass with accuracy and quickness.

De Bruyne, who hasn’t played since August due to a hamstring injury, is one of three players whom Salah, who assisted Liverpool’s equaliser against City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, would want to play with. He has also acknowledged that he wishes he could shake hands with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Salah said to Sky Sports, “I would pick Kevin over Messi or Ronaldo if I had to choose one in the Premier League.” “I would pick Messi, Ronaldo, and Kevin, because he has vision and can find me anywhere with the ball.

“He’s a fantastic player, and City as a team is outstanding. However, I only attempt to play my game and ignore other people.”

De Bruyne has not appeared in a game since City’s 3-0 victory against Burnley on the first night of the season. In his career, he has four goals and eight assists against Liverpool. After just 23 minutes, he was ejected, depriving Pep Guardiola of his primary architect.

At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday, De Bruyne provided an update on his recuperation, saying, “It’s going well (his recovery), it’s getting along.” I still have a couple ways to go, but progress is being made. If all goes well, I’m hoping for something shortly after the new year.”

Liverpool ready to fork out €92 million to sign Florian Wirtz

Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in signing 20-year-old Florian Wirtz, a prospect from Bayer Leverkusen, and Liverpool is willing to pay €92 million to acquire him.

Liverpool is reportedly interested in Florian Wirtz, according to a report by the Spanish publication Fichajes. The 20-year-old playmaker for Bayer Leverkusen is also a target for Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, the Reds are prepared to pay €92 million to acquire his services in order to outbid the rivals.

Since moving from FC Koln to Bayer Leverkusen over four years ago, Florian Wirtz has made a name for himself as one of the top young talents in the world. The German international signed as a young player at the BayArena in January 2019, but it didn’t take him long to establish himself as a regular for Die Werkself.

The 20-year-old is currently a key player for the Bundesliga squad and is starting to make an impression on the German national team. In the meantime, Wirtz has made 16 appearances thus far in the new campaign, tallying six goals and nine assists. The young player has drawn the interest of numerous prestigious teams, like Liverpool, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, as a result of his impressive improvement.

This past summer, Liverpool signed Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo, significantly strengthening the midfield. However, they are still looking for further reinforcements. Even though it’s uncertain how Wirtz will fit into Anfield’s plans, Liverpool has him as one of their top targets. To get him, the Reds are willing to spend €92 million.

Barcelona, on the other hand, might need an offensive midfielder for the upcoming campaign, given that Ilkay Gundogan’s summer acquisition is merely a stopgap measure. Thus, Wirtz has become a feasible target for Barcelona. However, the current La Liga winners are having trouble affording his high asking price.

Real Madrid has long been keeping an eye on the 20-year-old German international. However, unless Wirtz plays on the right side, Jude Bellingham, who joined from Borussia Dortmund, has taken up a central role, so there could not be a spot available for him.

A January transfer is improbable, though, as Bayer Leverkusen wants to keep the young player through to the end of the campaign. Thus, it’s doubtful that Liverpool’s €92 million proposal in January will be enough to secure his services.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer agree on next Liverpool's manager after Jurgen Klopp depart

The two think that Xabi Alonso, a former Reds midfielder, might be the person to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is a possibility to return to Anfield, according to Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.

After spending five years on Merseyside, the Spaniard began managing Real Madrid’s youth team in 2018. He later managed Real Sociedad’s B team before taking over at German team Bayer Leverkusen more than a year ago.

His team has won nine of their ten Bundesliga games thus far, with their most recent victory coming over Hoffenheim on the road this past weekend, 3-2. Additionally, he led Die Schwarzroten to the Europa League semifinals the previous year and they have won all three of their matches so far in this year’s competition.

    Xabi Alonso

Given that the Reds are also undefeated in Group E, it is possible that Jurgen Klopp and Alonso will reunite during the tournament’s later stages. Klopp is hoping to add the one trophy that has eluded him in his eight years at Anfield.

With his previous contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, Klopp, 56, signed a new deal with Liverpool in 2022, extending his stay until the summer of 2026. Beyond that, though, Alonso, the winner of the Champions League, has been mentioned by both Lineker and Shearer as a possible successor to Klopp in the future.

Shearer stated on the podcast The Rest Is Football: “He’s getting great reviews, isn’t he? He’s had a great start to his managerial and coaching career. If he continues on, it won’t be long until people begin to observe him if they haven’t already, and you never know.”

“I think there’s every chance that Carlo Ancelotti ends up there as manager of a certain Jude Bellingham once he walks away or is pushed out, as is often the case at Real Madrid,” Lineker stated. Furthermore, he may follow (Jurgen) Klopp in the future. You always do with these things, don’t you? Steven Gerrard will always be there.”

Shearer said, “That might all change in a year,” to wrap up the discussion. However, it appears that he will stay at the top for a very long time, doesn’t he?”

Liverpool’s competitors in the Europa League round-up: Harry Kane has been on a roll for Bayern Munich, but there’s a concern among a possible transfer dispute with the Reds.

On Thursday night, Liverpool resumes its European campaign with the intention of moving on from the disappointment of the draw with Luton. A second win over Toulouse would ensure passage to the Europa League knockout stages and, depending on the other outcome of the evening, may also seal the team’s place as group winners.

Having won the group, Liverpool will be looking to advance ‘bye’ to the round of 32, where Champions League losers will play. As it stands, that comprises teams like Newcastle and Manchester United.

Now that Liverpool is in Europe’s secondary tournament, Jürgen Klopp will undoubtedly be hoping this is a one-time event, but Liverpool will be eager to take the trophy. Nevertheless, it will continue to monitor its more ‘natural’ competitors, such as continental heavyweight Bayern Munich.

Massive teams like Bayern remain Liverpool’s most likely rivals if the two sides get into a transfer war. In the meantime, despite Harry Kane’s incredible run of form, the Bavarians are not winning every game.

Harry Kane ‘curse’ persists amid hat-tricks

The reasoning behind Kane’s summer transfer to Bayern Munich was questioned by many. The former Tottenham player appeared to be seeking legacy in the form of titles rather than sacrificing his best chance at breaking the Premier League goals record.

But in terms of football, those who were sceptical have been silenced. It shouldn’t be shocking, though, since Kane has quickly established himself as a formidable marksman in the Bundesliga after providing a consistent 25–30 goals a season for a team that frequently struggles in the hardest league in the world.

With his most recent goal in ‘Der Klassiker’ against Borussia Dortmund, Kane has now scored back-to-back hat-tricks in the Bundesliga. Talk that he could tie Robert Lewandowski’s single-season record of 41 goals has been sparked by this.

One aspect remains unaccounted for, though: Kane seems to be cursed with cutlery. He was an unutilized substitute in between his hat-tricks as FC Saarbrücken, a third-tier team, defeated Bayern Munich in the German Cup.

This is after he was called up from the bench to make his debut in the DFL Supercup, which is effectively the German equivalent of the Community Shield, but he was unable to overcome RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are still atop the Bundesliga despite all of Kane’s efforts.

According to Liverpool.com, Kane is not going to be able to play for Bayern Munich without winning a championship. It would obviously not be his fault, but for a player who has been plagued by the so-called curse, it would be an amazing turn of events.

Bayern is still the clear favourite to win the Bundesliga, needless to say. In the meanwhile, it must be regarded as a Champions League contender with Kane in this form. But for the time being, we must wait.

Bayern is already preparing for its next possible transfer splash because it will not rest on its laurels in the hunt for hardware. That might put it in direct clash with Liverpool.

The Daily Star claims that Liverpool has’muscled’ its way into the running for Florian Wirtz, the promising wonderkid from the Bundesliga who is presently leading Alonso’s team in scoring. That occurs when Manchester United withdraws from the competition.

But Wirtz hasn’t escaped the elites of Europe’s transfer watch lists. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester City are among of the teams that are already towards the front of the queue.

But Wirtz hasn’t escaped the elites of Europe’s transfer watch lists. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester City are among of the teams that are already towards the front of the queue.

Klopp sees Wirtz as a possible Salah substitute. Although he can play on the wing, advanced midfield roles have been his most common appearances.

Liverpool.com says: Wirtz would be a fantastic addition regardless of whether he is a straight successor to Salah. Dominik Szoboszlai should be moved out wide and he should be fielded centrally, but both players are talented enough to make a play.

Due to a cruciate ligament damage that kept him out of action for nine months last year, Wirtz’s injury history is cause for concern. However, he has bounced back from that incredibly well, regaining his reputation as one of Europe’s most promising artists.

According to sources, Liverpool has entered the competition to sign Florian Wirtz, a highly-regarded attacker from Germany.

The Reds are still seeking to strengthen their attacking options even after having a strong start to the current campaign, winning seven of the first ten Premier League games and scoring 23 goals.

Liverpool has reportedly expressed interest in the £80 million-rated attacker, joining teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. This information was reported by the Daily Star.

Liverpool is reportedly targeting Florian Wirtz, £80 million wonderkid at Bayer Leverkusen,  Mohamed Salah potential successor.

According to rumours, Jurgen Klopp wants to utilise his connections in Germany to help keep a number of potential suitors away from the 20-year-old.

For Leverkusen, Wirtz has started the season in excellent form, leading Xabi Alonso’s team to an undefeated start.

It is also said that the 20-year-old believes he has better options available to him after the recent setbacks of the Old Trafford club, and that Manchester United is no longer in the running to recruit him.

As Xabi Alonso’s club is still undefeated this season, Wirtz has been in excellent form for Bayer Leverkusen, racking up six goals and nine assists across all competitions.

Earlier this year, Alonso compared the 12-cap German international to Lionel Messi, offering a possible explanation for why so many of Europe’s elite clubs seem to be vying for his services.

“There are good players and there are players who look good on the pitch,” stated the former midfielder for Liverpool. The player with the best appearance makes nice but sometimes ineffective decisions.

In addition to being wanted by teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, the attacker has 12 caps for Germany.

Liverpool is reportedly targeting Florian Wirtz, £80 million wonderkid at Bayer Leverkusen,  Mohamed Salah potential successor.

Mo Salah has had a remarkably successful season thus far at Anfield, but there are still whispers that he might join the Saudi Pro League.

Why is Messi such a talent? because he understands when and how to play basic passes. “You’re in a better position?,” says Messi. You have the ball right here!”

It’s more important to make the best and brightest decision rather than the most audacious one. Florian’s capable of that. He’s so good because of this.

There may be an attacking vacancy at Anfield in the upcoming months given the ongoing speculations of Salah moving to the Saudi Pro League.

While Leverkusen will probably reject any January offers for Wirtz in their quest for a Bundesliga championship, Wirtz is likely to join Klopp in Merseyside at the end of the current campaign.

Liverpool look set to make their first signing before the January transfer window opens.
United have been linked with a number of names since the end of the summer and the player has long been an intriguing figure for Jurgen Klopp.

Despite engine room restructuring being the sole focus of the summer, Liverpool continue to look for other midfielders to add more options to their number six.

Andre Trindad has been on the radar at Anfield for some time, but the summer move is over and he is now the main name linked with a move to Merseyside in January.

Fluminense have said they will part ways with Andre until at least January as they will need all hands on deck this weekend if they are to win the Copa Libertadores title.

According to sports journalist François Plato, it has been confirmed that the Brazilian has “verbally agreed personal terms with Liverpool” amid interest in signing him in the new year.

However, no official deal has been signed yet and there are other clubs interested in Andre.
One of Liverpool’s main rivals for the midfielder’s signature is Arsenal, who are monitoring the situation with “several clubs in Spain and Italy”.

Liverpool are planning to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Florian Wirz continues to impress in the Bundesliga under Manchester United legend Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso is a World Cup winner, two-time European champion and two-time Champions League winner.

The Spaniard has also won four league titles and four domestic cups in England, Spain and Germany and is one of the best players of his generation. So he played with some of the best players the game has ever seen.

But the look on his face said it all as Bayer Leverkusen beat SC Freiburg 2-1 on Sunday to claim victory over Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.

Despite everything he has been through in his football career as a player and manager, Florian Wirz’s first goal will go down as one of the best individual goals he has ever seen.

After receiving the ball on the right, just outside the area, the 20-year-old burst into the box, twisted two defenders and knocked one of them to the ground twice.

Despite facing the big Freiburg on his way to the touchline, he stepped back and fired a shot into the bottom left corner.

“This is half our team… And he scores.
Leverkusen posted on social media that it was “unreasonable”, along with a photo of seven Freiburg players standing next to Wirz, five of whom were directly in front of him heading towards goal. The goal isn’t even in the shot.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a special goal from him,” Alonso said after the final whistle.
“Dribbling, dribble, dribble and finally shoot.

“I spoke to Flo yesterday about what he does and you can’t teach him that today.
“There are only a few players in the Bundesliga who can do that.”

The stunning goal was Wirtz’s fifth of the season, having made 13 appearances in all competitions.

He later set up Jonas Hoffman’s future winner with his eighth assist of the campaign, tearing down the left wing to block a running man in midfield before punching in seconds later.
    To property management.

That form is all the more impressive considering the Germany international is still only 20 years old and only returned in January from a 10-month layoff after picking up a cruciate ligament injury in March 2022.

He scored 18 goals and provided 22 assists in 69 games since the start of the 2020/21 season before suffering a serious injury.
He bounced back in the second half of last season with four goals and eight assists in 25 appearances and wasted no time getting back to his best form.

Unsurprisingly, Wirtz remains linked with many of Europe’s elite clubs, including Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano expressed his interest in the German at Manchester United in March, while Jurgen Klopp has said he is a fan of his compatriot. But he said the Leverkusen teenager will stay until 2024. So could the 20-year-old be linked with Anfield in the future?

There was no denying that there was something Mohamed Salah-like about Wirtz’s goal and assist against Freiburg.

The way he crosses inside, beats a defender and curls his left foot into the bottom corner is something Reds fans have seen time and time again during the King of Egypt’s breakaway, a powerful solo run that saves half the pitch before carries on side Team members.

However, even though Wirtz scored his wonder goal with his left foot, he is not left-handed.
Therefore, she is not a right winger and has mainly played as an attacking midfielder for Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso impressed with Liverpool's prospects of replacing Mohamed Salah.

But Liverpool now have the likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Lotta and even Darwin Nunes joining them on the left flank, as well as a number of talented young players coming through their academy, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t There.

A place for him. Wirtz is not at Anfield either.
He may be an attacking midfielder, but that doesn’t make him the only number 10 player.
Of course, he played in that position and right up front when Alonso opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, but the Spaniard is the favourite.

This system is similar to Klopp’s Reds formation, with Trent Alexander-Arnold moving into midfield as a right-back in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
Last season, Wirtz was forced to play as a central or left attacking midfielder.
However, following Moussa Diaby’s £51.8m move to Aston Villa in the summer, the German will often rotate with fellow right-footer Jonas Hoffman.

According to Transfermarkt, the 20-year-old is on the right side of any situation.
With the last goal, he showed that he has a strong left foot.

With speculation surrounding Salah’s future interest in Saudi Arabia, it is time for Liverpool to look for a replacement.
Wertz is not right-wing, but in that sense, he may not be the perfect successor either. But can anyone really fill these massive boots?
He may never be able to replace the Egyptian as an equal, but if he continues to be admired at Anfield, he could be part of that conversation.

Despite being on the Reds’ radar, one thing is clear. If Wirtz continues to supply Leverkusen, a big money move is certainly possible.
