Liverpool have been linked with a transfer of Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie in recent weeks, but are not pursuing it.

Athletic’s James Pearce has claimed Liverpool have no interest in signing 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie this summer.

Kessie has been linked with a move from Barcelona this summer and the Spanish giants view him as a lasting asset.

It’s no secret that Barcelona are trying to raise money through sales in order to get their own signings.

It looks like they’re ready to sell the 26-year-old midfielder after signing him just a year ago.

The Blaugrana signed him for free and now hope to sell him for a substantial profit.

There is no doubt that Liverpool will need several reinforcements in midfield this summer.

They have reportedly finalized the deal to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. But Kessie is clearly not on their list.

Liverpool are now eyeing Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Kone and OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram. While Kessie has the physicality to thrive in English football, he may not be perfect for Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp favors technically gifted midfielders with agility and flair.
Meanwhile, Kessie has also been linked with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur.

And it remains to be seen whether the London club will be able to sign him in the coming weeks. The 26-year-old arrived at Barcelona with the expectation of establishing himself as a key player for the Spanish club.

The move clearly didn’t work for him and he struggled for regular playing time under Xavi Hernandez. The Ivory Coast international needs to leave to play regularly and a move to the Premier League would be ideal for him. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have lost the likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain on a free transfer and must look to significantly strengthen their midfield unit before the window closes.

Although Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister joined in the summer transfer window, there is still much to be done to revamp Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

After bringing in Alexis Mac Allister as their first signing of the summer this week, Liverpool is planning to continue their search for midfield reinforcements this summer.

The World Cup winner underwent a medical on Wednesday after receiving permission from his current club Brighton to do so.
The Reds have reportedly agreed to pay £35 million for the Argentine midfielder.
As the Reds’ transfer plan takes shape, he is anticipated to be only the first arrival of the summer.

Last week, Jorg Schmadtke started working as the sporting director. The German was hired to help with Klopp’s transfer requests as he works to qualify for the Champions League again in the upcoming campaign. With James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all having left the club before their contracts were set to expire on June 30, midfield is thought to be the main area of focus for the summer transfer window.

Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, has officially signed with Real Madrid, costing the Reds the chance to sign him. The Athletic has revealed the targets who have come across the Reds’ radar and made a shortlist, so the Reds can now turn their focus to other targets.

Bellingham’s replacement, the 21-year-old Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich, has previously been suggested. Romeo Lavia, who was released by Southampton after being relegated, and Kephren Thuram, a 22-year-old French midfielder for Nice, have joined him.

In addition, Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach and Gabri Veiga of Celta Vigo have both been mentioned as alternatives by the Reds, who are eager to reenergize the team with young talent. In the meantime, Franck Kessie’s agent dismissed rumors that he might join the team as “fake news,” even though a £30 million transfer from Barcelona had previously been proposed.

Liverpool’s ability to influence transfers is expected to change this summer as a result of their failure to make the Champions League and their constrained financial resources. As he discussed the Reds’ transfer plans earlier this year, Klopp hinted at a different strategy as the team moved forward into what they hoped would be a new era.

In April, the German remarked, “I’ve never understood why we talk so much about things that are theoretically out of reach.”. For instance, “We cannot sign six players this summer for £100 million each. I see now.

You must first acknowledge your capabilities before putting them to use. We then work with the amount of money we have available.
You need to complete that task.

“We do everything in our power to obtain the things we need and want. However, there are times when we must acknowledge that this or that is not possible for us, leave the situation, and take another action. ”.

Franck Kessie has been linked with a move away from Barcelona in this summer’s transfer window, with Liverpool one of the interested suitors, although the midfielder isn’t giving up on his comings and goings.

Franck Kessie’s agent has poured cold water on reports that the Barcelona midfielder has been made available for a transfer.

The Ivory Coast international joined the La Liga giants from AC Milan last summer.

But he has struggled to start since arriving at Camp Nou despite being a regular in Xavi’s side which won the Spanish title for the first time in four years.

It is now understood that Barca are ready to sell the 26-year-old as the company look to raise funds for another summer.

The LaLiga champions continue to struggle financially as a major upgrade forces them to play away from the Nou Camp next season.

This has seen them trying to raise funds by signing players who don’t necessarily have a long-term place in Xavi’s plans. According to AS, Kessie appeared to be one of the first to go and Liverpool were one of the teams interested in him.

A meeting between Kessie and Xavi would have proved ‘crucial’ with the Barca boss making it clear that the club would be forced to sell him. It was further reported that Kessie had accepted the decision and was ready to go.

He was reportedly given a £30m prize, with Inter Milan, Liverpool and Tottenham named as interested suitors.

But those reports appear to have been false now that Kessie’s agent has publicly condemned them.

The rep reportedly called the report ‘fake news’ and that Kessie would like to stay at Barcelona.

His position has not changed and he will resist any attempt to develop it further this summer.

Reports of Inter’s interest in the midfielder first surfaced in March when Kessie was mainly used as a substitute. But back then, Xavi insisted he was a key player and not for sale.

“We are very happy with him, he is showing great performance. He rarely loses the ball and the timing of his runs in the box is good. He works hard for the team and is generous with his team-mates,” said Barca coach.

“The games he has played give him confidence, he is patient and will be important for us. I am very happy with Franck.

The news will come as a blow to Liverpool, who are looking to review their midfield options this summer. With Jude Bellingham joining Real Madrid instead, manager Jurgen Klopp has been forced to look for alternatives.

Kessie appeared to be one of them and if he was available for £30million he would certainly be within Liverpool’s price bracket. But now it looks like Klopp may have to cross the Barca man off his shopping list.

‘Place offer’ from Liverpool for Kessie
According to reports, Liverpool is considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian, who left AC Milan as a free agent and only recently signed with the La Liga giants, had been linked to the Reds before making this move.

A source from Italy claims Liverpool are trying to ward off interest from Inter Milan by ‘putting an alleged offer on the table,’ which is thought to be worth between €35 million and €40 million. This has led to Liverpool once more being mentioned as a potential target.

Only seven of Kessie’s 28 league appearances during his debut season with Barcelona were starts.

Newcastle is ‘battling’ the Reds for Veiga.
According to reports, Newcastle United and Liverpool are vying to recruit Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga.

A total of 36 La Liga games and 11 goals for his team later in the season, the gifted 21-year-old had a breakout season at his former club.

Veiga scored twice in Celta Vigo’s final game of the season on Sunday to help the team avoid relegation, and Premier League clubs are now likely to show interest in signing him.

The Northern Echo reports that despite Liverpool’s interest being “at an advanced stage,” Newcastle has undertaken “initial talks” with the player, who has a €40 million buyout clause.

According to the source, the Reds have ‘done a lot of the legwork’ necessary to secure a deal for Veiga.

Medical testing for Mac Allister are scheduled on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Prior to a potential transfer to Liverpool, Alexis Mac Allister is anticipated to undergo medical testing on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Reds are hopeful of signing the Argentine midfielder this week, according to news reports earlier today. They appear to have defeated competition from Manchester City and Manchester United.

The cost of Mac Allister’remains unclear’
If Liverpool manages to sign a deal for the Brighton midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister’s final transfer fee is still unknown.

The 24-year-old’s release clause should allow the Reds to move forward with this acquisition; they hope to complete the deal “this week.”

It is said that Bayern Munich is hoping to persuade Sadio Mane to leave the team this summer and is attempting to capitalize on Newcastle United’s interest.

The German powerhouses are aware of Newcastle’s fondness for the Liverpool icon, according to a recent report from FootballTransfers through the Sport1 podcast, since they can afford the wages needed to sign the Senegalese star.

Mane has had a difficult first year at Bayern, but last weekend, the two of them won the Bundesliga championship.

His spot in the starting eleven hasn’t always been guaranteed, and things became worse after he got into a fight with Leroy Sane.

Chelsea ‘turns their focus’ to the pair with ties to Liverpool

According to reports, Chelsea has decided against trying to recruit Manuel Ugarte of Sporting and would instead concentrate on signing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

In recent weeks, all three of the aforementioned players have been connected to Liverpool as the Reds try to upgrade their midfield unit.

Although Caicedo is more in demand and is also coveted by Arsenal, Lavia has reportedly been under scrutiny recently by both Chelsea and Liverpool.

According to reports, Chelsea will now ‘direct their attention’ to signing both players.
