Goncalo Inacio, a defender for Sporting CP, has been linked to Liverpool.

In the winter transfer window, Liverpool is hoping to sign the 22-year-old centre defender, according to a report from Jornal de Noticias via Paisley Gates.

The defender’s contract contains a £52 million release clause, and Sporting CP will only permit his departure in the event that the exit clause is activated. Liverpool will also have to contend with rivals like Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Portuguese team has made Inacio a vital member, and he will assist them strengthen their defence. Additionally, he would be the perfect long-term substitute for Joel Matip, who is now unable to play for the rest of the season due to an injury.

Liverpool lining up for the £52 million-rated Arsenal target in January.

The 22-year-old can play left back because of his versatility, and he might be a good substitute for Andrew Robertson.

The athlete will probably find the chance to join the Premier League to be appealing, and he will want to perform to the best of his abilities. He can get that platform from teams like Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

The only dependable centre defenders for Tottenham are Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, so it is not surprising that they are considering the 22-year-old. It will be fascinating to see if they are willing to cover his January release clause.

For the time being, Arsenal’s defensive unit can be fixed by Inacio and William Saliba, but they also need to bring in a top-tier partner.

It is unclear where the Portuguese international will finish up, but he has the ability to benefit all three teams.

Liverpool transfer target may be hijack by PSG as agreement is close

According to one source, Paris Saint-Germain  are nearing an agreement for Lucas Beraldo Liverpool target.According to one source, Paris Saint-Germain  are nearing an agreement for Lucas Beraldo Liverpool target.

As Jurgen Klopp deals with escalating injury concerns, the 20-year-old defender has been mentioned as a potential target for the Reds prior to the transfer window reopening next month.

Liverpool has previously committed to adding one or more defensive players by 2024. But Joel Matip’s season-ending injury has only made the need for additional back-end players more pressing.

Prior to January, the Reds were linked to several centre backs. They were even tipped as the front-runners for Sao Paulo’s impressive South American centre back, Beraldo.

Santi Aouna claims that PSG will actually finalise a winter contract for the Brazil youth international.

The journalist from Foot Mercato stated on X: “PSG is optimistic that Lucas Beraldo’s arrival will be completed in exchange for a 20+5M Euro bonus. close coordination between the parties. Potentially scheduled for next week’s medical examination.”

According to one source, Paris Saint-Germain  are nearing an agreement for Lucas Beraldo Liverpool target.

According to Aouna, PSG is reportedly in advanced talks with Corinthians to sign 18-year-old midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who has also been tangentially connected to Liverpool in recent weeks.

Although Beraldo may no longer be an option, it is unclear if Liverpool will make any additions the following month.

The likelihood of Liverpool bringing in a replacement for the injured Matip has been downplayed by manager Jurgen Klopp in public. And yet another story says the Reds are willing to negotiate ‘if the price is right’.

In addition to Piero Hincapie of Leverkusen and Leny Yoro of Lille, Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP is another centre back who has frequently been mentioned as a possible target.

Anfield Watch is aware that the Reds’ top objective for 2024 will be to strengthen their defence, even though a high-profile addition is probably more likely to come in the summer.

Despite Klopp’s remarks, Liverpool has experience signing players in January, having done so with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo in the last two years.

Wishlist for Liverpool’s January 2024 transfer window

Latest Liverpool transfer newsIn the winter transfer window, Liverpool may search for another holding midfield player.
Wataru Endo in the Asian Cup and Mohamed Salah at the AFCON early in the following year will be absent for the Reds.
Given Joel Matip’s season-ending injury, Jurgen Klopp might request defence reinforcements.

Liverpool spent their summer rebuilding their midfield and were busy bees during the previous transfer window.

The Reds are currently in a very strong position in both the Premier League and the Europa League as a result of some wise transactions; they may be recovering surprisingly quickly after a disappointing 2022–2023 season.

But there’s still room for improvement for Jurgen Klopp’s team, particularly as the injuries start to mount. Liverpool added four new players in the summer, but if they don’t add any more players in January, they risk falling behind Europe’s best teams.

The Reds may want to focus on strengthening here this winter.

    Defensive midfield

Wishlist for Liverpool's January 2024 transfer window

Even while the Reds did invest almost £150 million on new midfield players during the most recent transfer window, it still seems like Klopp could use another in the holding position. This season, Alexis Mac Allister has been utilised primarily in the defensive midfield position; the experiment has yielded mixed results.

Although Wataru Endo, 30, has had a generally successful start to his Liverpool career, it is evident that he was signed as a rotation option for Klopp.

Given that last summer’s attempts to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia failed, Klopp may be eager to add a youthful and talented holding midfield player to his team. Even though Stefan Bajcetic is presently sidelined with an injury, the Merseyside club may not be ready for him to play on a regular basis just yet.

    Key targets

The 22-year-old Andre, a midfielder for Fluminense, is still a major target for Liverpool despite frequent links between the two teams. But the Copa Libertadores winner is also wanted by Arsenal and Fulham, so a move to Anfield is unlikely.

Archie Grey, a 17-year-old Leeds United star, has been heavily linked to Liverpool; however, 90min knows the Whites are not eager to sell.

Another name that is high on Liverpool’s wish list is Joao Neves. In early November, the Reds sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old midfielder for Benfica.

    Key targets

Lucas Beraldo, a 20-year-old centre back for Sao Paulo who had made an impression in Brazil, was mentioned as a potential January transfer target for the Reds. But it appears like Paris Saint-Germain has signed him before them.

Goncalo Inacio, 22, a defender for Sporting CP who excelled in Portugal, has long been admired by Liverpool. The five-cap Portugal international is being watched by scouts from the Reds, although Real Madrid is vying for his talents.

Given Matip’s injury, Liverpool, who signed three players from the Bundesliga last summer, would want to add another this January. Jonathan Tah is one such player.

    Attacking reinforcements

Wishlist for Liverpool's January 2024 transfer window

Liverpool has an extremely talented offensive group, but this season its strikers have not always lived up to expectations. With Diogo Jota sidelined and Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo finding it difficult to be consistent, Mohamed Salah has been under a lot of pressure to score goals.

Given that the Egyptian winger is thirty-one years old, a succession plan needs to be developed quickly. Ben Doak, a young player who has been on the sidelines, is about to have surgery, so Klopp would be anxious to make sure he has enough choices up top to keep his players fresh.

    Key targets

Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven is a winger; the 20-year-old Belgian has caught the attention of the Reds following some strong performances in the Eredivisie and throughout Europe. Liverpool may have to contend with Brentford for his services.

Liverpool has long been interested in Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who is expected to push for a loan move in January in an attempt to reach the Germany squad for Euro 2024. Even though bolstering the offence isn’t the top priority this winter, Klopp, who hasn’t signed a player from his former team, might be able to call in some favours.

Liverpool's January proposal is "ready to be accepted," according to transfer news. "$82 million" man back on the radar

News about transfers involving Liverpool: An old midfield connection is back, and Jürgen Klopp is looking to strengthen the defence with a January bid from the Reds that is “ready to be accepted.”

Liverpool has so far had a generally prosperous Christmas season. The Reds’ goalless draw with Manchester United was an uncomfortable setback, but they defeated West Ham United 5-1 on Wednesday to guarantee that the team’s hopes of winning four trophies will not fade in the coming year.

With goals from Curtis Jones, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai, the Reds won at Anfield and advanced to the Carabao Cup semi-finals. With a short pause before their next test against Arsenal on Saturday, Jürgen Klopp and his team will now need to return their attention to Premier League play.

After 17 games, Mikel Arteta’s team leads the rankings with just one point separating it from Liverpool in second place. If Klopp’s team wins, they will very certainly top the tree on December 25, unless Aston Villa has a dramatic goal differential comeback, which is feasible given their matchup with Sheffield United.

The previous time the two teams faced off at Anfield, Liverpool was unable to come out on top against The Gunners. Salah and Roberto Firmino’s goals salvaged a point for Klopp’s team, which had trailed 2-0 in the first half. However, since then, the team has undergone some significant changes.

January is approaching even if there won’t be any new signings before to that match, raising the question of whether Klopp will remain or change course. With matches against Newcastle United, Burnley, and Arsenal coming up, here’s Liverpool.com’s assessment of the transfer rumours circulating about the Reds today.

    Nicolò Barella (Inter Milan)

    Nicolò Barella (Inter Milan)

Fichajes claims that Liverpool and Chelsea are now vying for Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella, an Italian international. The 26-year-old has been one of Serie A’s most impressive players in recent years, and he played a major role in Inter’s success in the 2022–2023 Champions League final.

However, Simone Inzaghi’s team is set to put up a fight against any interested clubs. Currently leading Serie A, Inter is attempting to sign Barella to a new, long-term contract at the San Siro.

The midfielder, whose current Transfermarkt valuation is $82 million (£65 million/€75 million), has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle United.

According to Liverpool.com: Liverpool made significant midfield acquisitions this summer, including Wataru Endō, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai, all of whom would compete with Barella in the centre of the pitch. Liverpool might be better suited allocating its funds on defence and other parts of the team, rather than selling players like Thiago Alcântara.

    Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting CP)

The most recent Liverpool young player to sign a rigorous "car clause"

Portuguese powerhouse Sporting Club de Portugal is reportedly prepared to take Liverpool’s opening offer for defender Gonçalo Inácio in January, which is estimated to be about $49 million (£39 million/€45 million). Since the summer transfer season, Inácio’s name has been frequently associated with a move to Anfield, and the Reds have been widely connected to adding reinforcements to the defence.

But Jürgen Klopp’s team is trying to find a way around the player’s initial asking price of $65 million (£51 million/€59 million), according to earlier reports that Liverpool was unwilling to pay. Liverpool could potentially make a $49 million offer to sign the Portuguese defender in January, with the possibility of earning a further $16 million through future add-ons.

According to Liverpool.com, the club should prioritise defence recruitment in light of Joël Matip’s long-term injuries and the injury propensity of players like Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konaté. Inácio would provide a high ceiling and solid depth to the team. In addition to being able to contribute right away, he is a person who can advance and change with time.

An update on Liverpool’s search for a new center-back has been provided by Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed that while both players are being considered, no firm moves have been made to sign either.

In January, Liverpool might be looking to add a new central defender. Even though Jurgen Klopp has stated that the Reds won’t aim to add defensive reinforcements during the winter, the Anfield team will keep an eye on the market and try to seize any openings that present themselves.

Given Jarell Quansah’s rise this season and the fact that Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams can be called up from their loans in Scotland, there isn’t a pressing need to sign a new center-back, but Joel Matip’s ACL injury does make it something to think about. Furthermore, as a possible long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, the Reds were already hoping to sign a young, left-footed centre back in the summer.

Nothing finally came of it back then, but things might be different in 2024. Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP and versatile youngster Piero Hincapie of Bayer Leverkusen, who seems like a perfect fit for Klopp’s style, have been strongly linked to Liverpool. Both players are very much on the Reds’ short list of 2024 targets, as Fabrizio Romano has recently confirmed.

    What was said by Romano?

“Liverpool are another club looking at center-backs, but so far no contacts have taken place with Bayer Leverkusen for Piero Hincapie,” the transfer analyst claimed in an interview with CaughtOffside.

“Hincapie has been strongly linked with Liverpool and other top clubs as he’s looked like a superb young talent for some time now, and he’s also not playing as often as he might have expected, so it’s normal to see new stories about the player.”

“Goncalo Inacio has been linked to several teams, including Liverpool, but his €60 million release clause with Sporting must be paid in order to sign him, and no one has approached Sporting as of yet.”

“We’ll see if that changes soon, but as of right now, neither Hincapie nor Inacio have made any progress for Liverpool.” It should be noted that Hincapie is not going to be cheap either, as he supposedly has a release clause for €70 million, which is the same amount Liverpool paid for Dominik Szoboszlai in the summer.

Scouts 'fly out to witness' the £7 million winger in action as Liverpool eye a January deal. When Jurgen Klopp’s scouts go to work in January, Liverpool has their sights set on a cheap addition.

Momodou Sonko, a winger for BK Hacken, is apparently a target for Liverpool, but Barcelona is also vying for his services. The adolescent is now regarded as one of the best young players in the Allsvenskan and is expected to have a successful future, maybe in the Premier League.

The Reds allegedly dispatched scouts to monitor Sonko on Thursday when his team fell 2-1 on the road to Azerbaijani side Qarabag in the Europa League, according to Swedish publication Expressen. Only three goals were scored by Hacken in their six European matches, but one of those goals came from Sonko, who has been their best player thus far.

Although Liverpool hasn’t shown their interest in him by putting up a formal offer, Hacken reportedly values him at £7 million, so a January transfer would not break the bank. However, because of his 10 goals and five assists in all competitions this season, Barcelona and RB Leipzig are also considering the 18-year-old.

Sonko played 82 minutes in the match that Liverpool saw, and the Merseyside club was interested enough to plan to scout him during a training session earlier in the year for the Swedish club.

Scouts 'fly out to witness' the £7 million winger in action as Liverpool eye a January deal.

He could give Liverpool a viable option as their star player, Mohamed Salah, will be away with Egypt for most of January playing in the Africa Cup of Nations. He was recently called up to the Swedish national squad.

Salah’s long-term future at Anfield is still up in the air because Saudi Arabia is still interested. As the teenager is more likely to be seen as a player for the future than as someone who can have an immediate effect, Sonko may be one method Liverpool is protecting their future.

The Reds could be able to spend more money elsewhere if they see Sonko as the forward they need to recruit. After all, they saved a lot of money by buying Sonko for £7 million rather than going big for a more well-known player.

Joel Matip suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season. This highlights the need for Liverpool to bolster their defence, as Virgil van Dijk is now joined in the middle of the defence by Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, and Jarell Quansah, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Wataru Endo is the only recognised holding midfielder for the team, therefore Alexis Mac Allister has been forced to play a deeper role. It’s possible that the goal is to add another player to the position in January or the summer after that.

  • Liverpool should go for these five centre backs in January following Joel Matip’s injury setback

Liverpool should go for these five centre backs in January following Joel Matip’s injury setback

Jonathan TahFollowing Joel Matip’s season-ending injury, Liverpool needs to have a strategy in place before the January transfer window opens.

Liverpool, who are presently leading the Premier League, will be looking to defend their crown and possibly win the competition outright. To defeat Manchester City and Arsenal and win the championship, they will obviously need to fill some holes in the team.

Liverpool needs to look to spend during the January transfer window on a top-notch centre defender. They cannot expect to play the second half of the season with just Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, and Ibrahima Konate as their only dependable central defenders because Joel Matip will be out for the remainder of the campaign due to an anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

Furthermore, Liverpool cannot afford to abuse Konate and Gomez due to their questionable fitness records. In light of this, The Hard Tackle examines five defenders that Liverpool ought to try to sign during the next transfer window.

    Goncalo Inacio

Hakan Calhanoglu is being pursued by West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

This 22-year-old Sporting CP defender has been linked to a move to the Premier League, and other teams including Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have also expressed interest in him.

The Portuguese international, whose contract with Sporting CP has a €60 million release clause, would be the perfect defensive addition for Liverpool. Both a centre defender and a left back can be used by the 22-year-old.

He is the kind of adaptable central defender that Liverpool needs, and if necessary, he can also play in place of Andrew Robertson. However, the Merseyside team’s task of defeating teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid will be difficult.

    Jonathan Tah

Liverpool should go for these five centre backs in January following Joel Matip's injury setback

The 27-year-old German international has established himself in the Bundesliga over the years, and Liverpool may find him to be a worthwhile addition. Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United are also monitoring him.

The 27-year-old could end up being a wise addition because he possesses the physicality needed to thrive in English football. But since Bayer Leverkusen is vying for the championship in their own league, it is unlikely that they will allow him to leave in January.

The German international is a cheap target because he won’t set you back a bomb. However, given Bayer Leverkusen’s place in the Bundesliga, Liverpool might have to wait until the end of the campaign to sign someone like him.

Since Tah is currently at the height of his profession, he will want to push himself to the limit. He would advance in his career and have the opportunity to show off his skills in the Premier League if he joined Liverpool.

    Lucas Beraldo

In an effort to strengthen their defence, Liverpool plans to start negotiations in January to find Virgil Van Dijk's replacement.

The 20-year-old Brazilian defender is well-liked in his native country and has been connected to several Premier League teams. Players in the Brazilian Serie A have an easy time moving in January because the league’s seasons run the full calendar year.

Without a question, Beraldo is a gifted young player with a bright future ahead of him. However, he is an unproven alternative, and Liverpool need a Premier League player who can go in and immediately make an impact.

The Reds would be wise to get him in the long run, and he might even end up being a good deal. The Merseyside team ought to prioritise aiming for more reputable choices in European football, though.

    Maxence Lacroix

    Maxence Lacroix

Liverpool has been keeping an eye on the VfL Wolfsburg defender for a while now. The Reds have reportedly been watching the Frenchman this season because boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of him.

Given that Wolfsburg is positioned in the middle of the table, making a play for Lacroix in January might make sense. He will find it fascinating to have the chance to join the Premier League team, and he will probably be tempted. Both in the short and long terms, he might be Joel Matip’s perfect replacement.

    Jean-Clair Todibo

    Jean-Clair Todibo

In recent weeks, teams like Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked to the 23-year-old French international defender. For the French team OGC Nice, he has been exceptional, and the Premier League clubs have taken notice of his performances. He might be a good Matip substitute for Liverpool.

With coaching and experience, the former Barcelona defender should be able to perform well in the Premier League because of his technical and physical skills. It can be difficult to decline the chance to sign with a major Premier League team, and the player will probably be drawn to the prospect of playing at Anfield.

Playing with Konate will only increase Todibo’s prospects of becoming a regular starter for the French national team, which is something he will want to accomplish in the meanwhile. It could be challenging to usurp Virgil van Dijk, though.

It’s unclear who Liverpool ends up with, as all four defenders—aside from Inacio—may be available in the coming months at inexpensive costs. For most players, they are a desirable destination that also fits their style of play.

Lacroix, Todibo, Inacio, Tah, and Beraldo are all excellent with the ball at their feet, and their ability to distribute the ball from the back makes them a great substitute for Joel Matip, who was a fantastic with his passing from the back

The Merseyside team’s primary aim is Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix. They are also keeping an eye on Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo and Sporting Lisbon center-back Goncalo Inacio.

Following Joel Matip’s knee injury, Football Insider reported on Friday, December 8, that Liverpool will give priority to signing a new center-back in January.

Matip has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury, according to a statement the Merseyside club posted on their website on Wednesday.

Klopp is keen to add a new defender to his defensive lineup in January as the 32-year-old may miss months due to injury.

Liverpool is reportedly keeping an eye on Lacroix, 23, since Klopp is a huge fan of the French defender.

Hakan Calhanoglu is being pursued by West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Despite his age, he has already made 113 appearances for Wolfsburg and, when available, has started every Bundesliga game in the 2023–2024 season.

Another defender that Liverpool’s recruitment squad is keeping an eye on is Inacio, a 22-year-old who has emerged as a crucial member of both Sporting and the Portugal national team.

This season, he has made 19 appearances for Sporting in all competitions, including all 12 league games.

At just 20 years old, Beraldo is the youngest possibility for Liverpool and the third name on the list.

With 24 appearances in the 2023 season, he established himself as a staple in Sao Paulo’s first squad after breaking through in 2022.

It’s believed that Sao Paulo will entertain bids for the youthful defender in January.

Hakan Calhanoglu is being pursued by West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

    Hakan Calhanoglu

Hakan Calhanoglu, 29, of Inter Milan, is a midfield player that Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham United would all love to have on their team.

A report from Calciomercato claims that West Ham United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all interested in hiring Hakan Calhanoglu. Since joining Inter Milan, the 29-year-old has been performing admirably, and his outstanding efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Prior to joining Inter Milan in the summer of 2021, Calhanoglu was a member of AC Milan. Since joining Inter, he has only become better. The club’s defensive midfielder has made appearances in 112 games and has helped contribute to 41 goals.

Over the years, the Turkish international has played every position on the pitch. In his early years, the 29-year-old playmaker was frequently spotted on the wings or up top, but at this point in his career, he likes to play as a holding midfielder or a central midfielder.

With more than three years remaining on his contract, he has been a vital member of Inter Milan’s first team in recent seasons. Nevertheless, he might have to leave them in the summer of next year as Premier League teams try to sign him.

Even though Liverpool added a lot of midfield players over the summer, their transformation is far from finished. With his expertise, Calhanoglu may be a wonderful match as a deep-lying playmaker. They need another defensive midfielder.

Chelsea may be concentrating on acquiring young athletes with enormous potential. To maintain order, they do require some experience among their ranks. Despite having a number of defensive midfielders already, they may still want to sign Calhanoglu because of his versatility in both attacking and centre midfield roles.

West Ham United, meanwhile, has long been a fan of the 29-year-old. They intended to sign him as Lucas Paquetà’s replacement throughout the summer. The Brazilian ultimately decided to remain at the London club, and the Inter midfielder’s singing was abandoned.

The Hammers will seek Calhanoglu, and an offer of about €50 million might get them there regardless of what happens with Paqueta next summer. Even though Inter would prefer to hang onto their star, their financial difficulties are still present. Also, since he was a free agent when he signed with them in the past, his departure might enable them to make a tidy profit.

Liverpool is reportedly planning a bid for Goncalo Inacio, a center-back for Sporting Lisbon who is also reportedly being watched by Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

Spurs are reportedly targeting a number of names as potential centre backs in January, according to reports that have been circulating for the past month (GiveMeSport).

Ange Postecoglou’s team has a number of candidates on their short list for central defence, including Inacio, Marc Guehi, Jarrad Branthwaite, Malick Thiaw, and Morato of Sporting Lisbon, according to a report published in The Daily Mail earlier this week.

Over the past few years, the 22-year-old has emerged as one of the greatest centre backs in the Primeira Liga, and in the last few months, he has proven to be a regular starter for the Portuguese national team.

When summer addition Micky van de Ven was sidelined until the new year due to a catastrophic hamstring injury sustained during Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s 4-1 loss to Chelsea earlier this month, it dealt a severe blow to the team’s defence.

    Liverpool is considering Inacio.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has his sights set on Sporting defender Virgil van Dijk as a potential new defensive partner.

The source adds that Inacio is willing to transfer to Anfield in January and that the Reds have been watching him intently for a few years.

It is clarified, nevertheless, that Sporting does not want to lose the defender midway through the campaign, and that any interested teams would need to pay his £52 million release clause in order to approve his departure.

    Spurs Online Views

We signed Micky van de Ven before Liverpool did, and I’m sure the Reds would prefer to prevent a repeat of that in January. They should promptly fulfil the defender’s release clause, in my opinion.

After pushing the North Londoners to the brink of a deal for Pedro Porro last year, Tottenham are all too aware that Sporting is willing to stick to their guns when it comes to a player’s worth.

Everton, Liverpool’s local rival, was given a 10-point deduction during the international break for violating the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations. The club has already declared that it will challenge the decision.

It is possible that tens of thousands of supporters will be carrying signs calling for the Premier League to be ‘corrupt’ on Sunday when it plays its first match since the scandal surfaced (via talkSPORT).

It was quite unexpected to hear that the club agreed this week at a league meeting to continue a contentious practise, given the events at Goodison Park. The 20 clubs in the competition were asked if they supported a temporary restriction on “related-party loans,” or transfers between teams that share owners. However, the motion only needed 14 votes to pass, even though 12 teams supported it.

It’s important to emphasise that, should one of these transactions take place in January, there won’t be anything “corrupt” about it because it complies with all legal requirements. But when you witness a deal between two clubs connected in this way, you may definitely doubt sporting integrity.

It is no accident that five of the eight clubs who opposed the proposal are already a part of official multi-club networks (Manchester City and Sheffield United) or informal ones (Chelsea, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest), and two more could join soon. Standard Liege in Belgium and Genoa in Italy are already under the ownership of possible owners Everton 777 Partners, according to The Athletic, who are now ‘exploring potential partner clubs’ at Burnley.

It is becoming more and more obvious that the current trend will continue unchecked if Premier League teams remain in control of multi-club models, which are rapidly expanding. Therefore, if the ban had been implemented, it would have had symbolic significance as a step towards restricting their reach.

The owner of Liverpool, FSG, is left with two options: either accept that change may be inevitable and start actively seeking out other teams to join so that it can reallocate its footballing assets, or stick to its principles, albeit probably in vain.

If it waits too long, it can find itself in a position where it falls behind its rivals by years in terms of model sophistication or where it doesn’t profit from talent development and income. It’s a cynical attitude, to be sure, but maybe it’s time to admit that you have to join them since you can’t beat them.

Following Klopp's astounding assurance, Liverpool will exercise the €60 million release clause on the Man Utd target.

Liverpool is ‘willing’ to trigger a center-back’s release clause in order to beat out Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United to acquire him; however, the move may not concern United, since they are reportedly focusing on acquiring a defender of their own.

In 2024, both Manchester United and Liverpool will be searching for a new centre back. Regarding Man Utd, Fabrizio Romano gave his confirmation in an October interview with Caught Offside.

The dependable source stated, “We know Man Utd want a top center-back for 2024, so we’re going to see a lot of names linked.”

Joel Matip appears to have no intention of accepting a contract extension from Liverpool.

At the end of the current campaign, the 32-year-old will become a free agent, and according to The Liverpool Echo, “no efforts to agree fresh terms have been made.”

Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth is a player that Liverpool is well-known to respect. The Reds are drawn to the left-footer because of his versatility, as he can also play left-back.

Four players that Manchester United is keeping an eye on are Goncalo Inacio (Sporting Lisbon), Antonio Silva (Benfica), Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice), and Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen), according to Romano.

Following Klopp's astounding assurance, Liverpool will exercise the €60 million release clause on the Man Utd target.

Inacio is also on Anfield’s watch list, and Liverpool is willing to move on their interest in bringing the defender to England, according to a recent report from Spain that was reported by The Manchester Evening News.

The 22-year-old left-footer is reportedly “the favourite” to sign with Liverpool. Although Barcelona and Real Madrid are also contenders, Jurgen Klopp’s team is prepared to stake a claim. There is a €60 million (about £52.6 million) release clause in Inacio’s Sporting contract.

Liverpool “intends to bet very strongly on Inacio” and is “willing to pay what it would cost,” according to the report. Stated differently, they’re prepared to apply the release clause.

Klopp’s incredible assurance boosts Liverpool’s prospects.

This remarkably claimed portion of Liverpool’s pitch will ensure that Inacio plays from the opening lineup at Anfield, symbolising Liverpool’s obvious faith in the young player.

If Inacio were signed, Ibrahima Konate would be demoted to the bench because Virgil van Dijk is still untouchable at center-half.

Van Dijk might, however, be moved from left centre back to right centre back for the first time in his Reds career because Inacio is a left-footed player.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Liverpool’s edge over Real Madrid stems from their commitment to ensure that Inacio plays a starting role.

Moreover, Liverpool’s advantage over Barcelona stems from their capacity to pay the release clause.

The article doesn’t say if Liverpool would wait until the summer to trigger Inacio’s clause or if it would happen in January.

Man Utd speed up separate defender pursuits.
News that Liverpool is willing to shell out a lot of money for Inacio is certain to irritate Old Trafford executives.

But it seems like United prioritised one of the two targets Romano highlighted in January nevertheless.

According to The Mirror, Man Utd made Nice’s Todibo their main target in January, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s influence will make a £40 million deal easier.

The British tycoon, who also owns the French team Nice, is ready to buy a twenty-five percent share in United.

Liverpool has been mentioned as a possible transfer partner for the 22-year-old Premier League player.

    Rayan Ait-Nouri

Although it is unlikely that a trade will be completed in January, Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is apparently of interest to Liverpool.

This is based on reports from the French publication Le 10 Sport, which is unsure of the extent of Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old and whether or not they have contacted him.

Ait-Nouri has shown promise while playing for Wolves, and he seems like a capable long-term successor for Andrew Robertson at Liverpool. However, it’s unlikely that the Reds will view this as an immediate priority at this point.

However, Ait-Nouri is talented enough to transfer to a larger club, so it would be wise to monitor the Algerian international’s status in the next days, weeks, and months.

Le 10 Sport reports that it appears improbable that Wolves will allow the player to leave without a fight, so it may need to wait until next summer, and even then, it’s unclear how much he would cost.

Liverpool may be hoping to replicate the happiness they felt when they signed Diogo Jota from Wolves a few years ago.

After Jurgen Klopp recently criticised Ibrahima Konate for being left out of the France team owing to a hamstring issue, manager Didier Deschamps has responded. Due to an injury sustained last week, Konate will miss France's forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar on November 18 and Greece on November 21. Axel Disasi of Chelsea will take the 24-year-old's place, the French Football Federation revealed in a statement on Sunday night, citing a "small muscle injury to his left hamstring." A "approximately two weeks" rehabilitation period has already been established, indicating that Konate should be ready for Liverpool's November 25 match against Man City. It follows sardonic criticism of Deschamps' usage of Konate during the October break, with Klopp telling the French manager that "that's how you rest a player" following the Reds' 5-1 victory against Toulouse at home. When questioned about Klopp's remarks during a press conference on Monday, Deschamps stated, "It probably happened in the past and it will happen again at other moments." "Because national team managers and club managers have different circumstances and goals. "Like any manager, I try to manage them." They are able to handle them a little better during weeks when there are three games. We are here, and we are playing two games. Didier Deschamps French publication RMC Sport published Deschamps' measured remarks, in which the 55-year-old went into additional detail regarding Konate's injury. The choice was taken not to jeopardise Liverpool's No. 5 so that "there is no problem for the rest of season in this calendar year," according to the former midfielder for Marseille, Juventus, and Chelsea. "Ibou, as we previously informed you, did not participate in the Liverpool match in Toulouse, but he prepared for a potential role throughout the game," Deschamps stated. "He experienced a hamstring issue. His testing came back normal, though. He requires some time to avoid taking any chances. He had already had an injury there. Neither the player's nor my interests were served by it. He could have only been available for training on Friday or Saturday, at best. Joel Matip may still start for Man City against Liverpool, but if Deschamps is right, Konate should be ready

Liverpool may pull off a major effort to sign Goncalo Inacio in an attempt to fulfil their desire for a left-footed centre back.

According to Paisley Gates, the Spanish publication Nacional has now reported that the Reds are willing to give the 22-year-old defender a starting position in the squad in order to convince him to choose them over other suitors.

Real Madrid and Barcelona, the two biggest teams in La Liga, are rumoured to be interested in this.

Liverpool needs to present the cash.
Sporting will be unable to let the Portuguese centre back go for anything less than his £52.5 million release clause.

Although that amount shouldn’t necessarily discourage us in the next transfer window, we find it difficult to believe that the club is supposedly offering a starting position.

Virgil van DIjk was at his most commanding again, therefore Jurgen Klopp couldn’t possibly approve of this move, right?

That would therefore require either Inacio to play in a less natural position and push out Ibrahima Konate or a tactical swap that would let him to play in a back three, which is what he is now doing.

For one, albeit talented, center-back signing, there have been quite a few changes.

Goncalo Inacio, a highly-rated center-back for Sporting, is available for Manchester United to compete with Liverpool and Real Madrid

Goncalo Inacio, a highly-rated center-back for Sporting, is available for Manchester United to compete with Liverpool and Real Madrid in the New Year.

Prior to the winter transfer season, Manchester United and other top European teams are still after Sporting defender Goncalo Inacio.

After rising through the Sporting academy, the highly-regarded 22-year-old has become an important member of the team. This season, he has also made a major impact on Portugal, playing alongside Ruben Dias in central defence.

Foreign observers have taken note of Inacio’s commanding play, especially in the Premier League. Liverpool reportedly deployed scouts to watch the young player, according to reports from last month, but the Reds’ fierce rivals also think highly of the Sporting prospect.

United is prepared to move forward with their interest in the defender, who has a €60 million (£52.5 million) release clause, according to a recent report from CM Sport. According to rumours, Inacio would receive an initial offer of €45 million (£39.3 million), with further €15 million (£13.1 million) coming from add-ons and conditions that would make up any possible transaction.

Goncalo Inacio, a highly-rated center-back for Sporting, is available for Manchester United to compete with Liverpool and Real Madrid

It won’t be easy to prise Inacio away from Portugal, though, as other teams are keeping an eye on the defender’s development besides Liverpool. Inacio is being watched by La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid, who intends to lure him to the Bernabeu, and other teams are probably aware of his skills as well.

Interestingly, Miguel Pinho, who also represents Bruno Fernandes, is Inacio’s agent. Pinho arranged the £47 million transfer that moved the United captain to Old Trafford in January 2020. Should United increase their interest in Inacio when the transfer window reopens in January, he would be in charge of arranging any transaction.

Homegrown talent has always been profitablely sold by Sporting; one such example is Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed a contract with Manchester United in the summer of 2003. Over 130 appearances have already been made by Inaco for the Portuguese Primeira Liga team.

In an effort to strengthen his defence, Erik ten Hag first put Inacio on a shortlist of four players that also included Sporting star Jean-Clair Todibo, Antonio Silva, Edmond Tapsoba, and the goal of signing one of the four players the following summer.

United might now, though, act quickly to pursue Inacio in the New Year. After a terrible start to the 2023–24 season, the Red Devils have been playing with Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans in the middle of defence.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘broke’ Premier League rule to fulfil promise to Harvey Elliott

    harvey elliott

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ‘broken’ Premier League rules to keep his promise to midfielder Harvey Elliott.

Klopp’s managerial skills are one of his best qualities as a manager, with many players saying they enjoy playing under him.
In an interview with Sky Sports in 2020, Manchester United legend Gary Neville revealed that, apart from Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager he would most like to play under in his career is the German.

Klopp has turned Liverpool into perennial title contenders since arriving at Anfield in 2015.
Last season was a remarkable one.
He led Manchester United to the Premier League title in 2020, a year after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to win his sixth Champions League title.

Klopp used a consistent line-up in 2019/20, with six players playing more than 35 of the 38 games.
Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold were always there.

This meant that although some of the younger members of the squad, including Curtis Jones and Neko Williams, made the five appearances required to win a Premier League medal, other players had limited opportunities.
However, Harvey Elliott played just two games this season and was ineligible for a medal.

But the midfielder said Klopp had “broken” Premier League rules and confirmed he will receive a medal to mark his incredible season.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Elliott explained: “I’m not sure if it’s [Klopp’s] medal.
It could have been Klopp’s medal but I ended up winning it.

“After the parade and presentation, I went into the locker room and they gave it to me.
“I can’t put into words how I felt.
I felt really good and I could say to my mom and dad: [I have a medal! I have a medal!” I sent a photo.

“They were down too so we went and looked around and had a little party.
    “I felt really good.”
