Liverpool opponents round-up: Arsenal has been offered an alternative to Ivan Toney, while Real Madrid has given Kylian Mbappé a deadline to go to La Liga.

After a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United during the midweek at Bramall Lane on December 6, Liverpool’s excellent season continues. Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai each scored two outstanding goals to give Jürgen Klopp’s team all three points.

Liverpool is now four points ahead of their competitors in second place as a result of their victory and Manchester City’s away loss to Aston Villa. With Liverpool and table-toppers Arsenal separated by just two points, all eyes will be on their crucial December 23 match at Anfield.

This following weekend, Liverpool will head south to play Crystal Palace on another road journey. Although former Reds manager Roy Hodgson will undoubtedly want to impede Liverpool’s advancement, supporters will be hoping for all three points to keep the pressure on Arsenal given the form books.

The news that Joël Matip may miss the rest of the season after it was revealed he tore his ACL during the 4-3 victory over Fulham last weekend has considerably darkened the atmosphere at Anfield. The Cameroonian’s current contract ends at the end of the current campaign, and it is still unknown how long he will be out.

Here, Liverpool.com surveys the other major teams in the Premier League and throughout Europe to see what news they have to report. As usual, Kylian Mbappé is frequently mentioned in transfer rumours.

    Kylian Mbappè deadline set

The story of Kylian Mbappé seems to go on forever. The Frenchman has been caught in a long-running tug-of-war between Real Madrid and his current team, Paris Saint-Germain, but it seems like the conclusion is near.

Mbappè has informed the French team that he plans to leave the team next summer. According to the Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid has informed Mbappé that they are prepared to extend a contract offer to him so he may play for Los Blancos the following summer, but he needs to decide by January 15.

Mbappé is reportedly the target of a move by Liverpool (via The Mirror). However, the cost of bringing the 24-year-old to Anfield has always made any agreement seem unfeasible.

According to Liverpool.com, most people would just like the Mbappé saga to end since it has, quite frankly, gone on for far too long. Mbappè needs to quit the Ligue 1 team come summertime if he has any respect for his legacy as a player, despite PSG’s best efforts to persuade him to stay.

    Arsenal offered Ivan Toney ‘alternative’

    Ferran Torres

Ivan Toney, the striker for Brentford, is still Mikel Arteta’s top transfer target, although it has apparently been offered to Arsenal as an alternative. After his eight-month suspension for violating the Football Association’s gambling regulations ends, Arteta intends to bring the English striker to North London.

However, another striker may be proposed to the Arsenal coach. As per AS, Arteta may receive Ferran Torres, a former Manchester City forward, from Barcelona. It is reported that the Spaniard is evaluating his options after having a falling out with manager Xavi.

This season, Torres has had trouble getting into the game because Xavi prefers Robert Lewandowski up front. For the Catalans this season, Torres has only made seven starts. Furthermore, Torres’ troubles will undoubtedly worsen with Vitor Roque’s $43 million (£34 million/€43 million) arrival from Athletico Paranaense in January.

According to Liverpool.com, Torres and Toney are not the same type of player, thus it is unclear whether Arsenal would show the same level of interest in Torres as they do in the Brentford striker. ‘Plan B’ isn’t the most evident.

Toney is four years older than Torres, thus Torres might be a better long-term investment than the former forward for Manchester City. Furthermore, Arteta has enjoyed working with his former Etihad teammates, getting the most out of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus.

Brentford have made an £80m bid for star striker Ivan Toni after admitting he was a Liverpool fan as a child.

According to the Evening Standard, the Bees are ready to sell Toney in January, while Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing Toney in 2024.

Despite missing the entire season so far due to a gambling ban, Brentford still rate the 27-year-old striker despite his 18-month contract expiring in January.

As a result, Toney may now miss out on a dream move to Liverpool, with the striker already showing his support for the club earlier this year. Liverpool have good attacking areas, so Toni’s move may not be necessary in 2024.

Liverpool will be keen to sign Toney in January. Brentford have set an £80m price tag for the England international. Liverpool should not consider Tony in the winter transfer window

Tony is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is now a must-have for one of the division’s biggest teams.

However, Liverpool would be a surprising destination for the forward as they already have plenty of options in attack with main striker Darwin Nunes. Arsenal and Chelsea are not in the market.

Any part of the London number nine could be perfect for Tony, who wants to fulfill his Liverpool dream once and for all.

The parents of Liverpool striker Luis Diaz were kidnapped in Barrancas on Saturday, according to Colombia.

Late Saturday, shocking news broke that Diaz’s parents had been kidnapped from their home country.

Colombia’s Semena channel was the first to report the story, which was later confirmed by authorities.

Luis Manuel Diaz and Cilenis Marulanda were kidnapped after the attackers hijacked the vehicle they were in.

The kidnappers arrived on a motorcycle before taking control of the Diaz family’s van on the way back to the Los Olivos area.

The police and military rushed to identify the player’s parents, after which his mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was rescued.

As of this writing, the whereabouts of Diaz’s father, Luis Manuel Diaz, are unknown and the search for the kidnapper is ongoing.

This extremely upsetting news, which raises concerns about the safety of the families of well-known football players, comes just before regional elections take place throughout Colombia.

Jurgen Klopp orders Liverpool scouts to keep an eye on a £100m Chelsea transfer target Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a move for Chelsea transfer target Victor Osimhen and has sent a club scout to keep an eye on the Napoli striker during the international break. The Nigerian star was due to play for his country against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in the Algarve last week. Osimhen played for an hour against the Saudis before succumbing to a hamstring injury in front of one of Klopp's trusted scouts, according to The Sun. The Reds, along with their Premier League rivals, are considering capitalizing on Osimhen's deteriorating relationship with the reigning Serie A champions. Osimhen's goals led Napoli to a rare Scudetto victory last season but he was left dejected and disheartened after being mocked by his own club on social media following a missed penalty earlier this month. Napoli may be reluctant to sell a player valued at £100 million but Liverpool are already making contingency plans ahead of an expected renewed attempt by Saudi Pro League clubs to sign Mohamed Salah. Liverpool already have a wealth of attacking options and only just over a year ago invested more than £80 million in Darwin Nunez. The Uruguay international has shown glimpses of potential during his Anfield career so far and has earned cult hero status thanks to his energetic and sometimes erratic style. Nunez has scored five goals in all competitions so far this season and also scored for Uruguay in their historic win over Brazil earlier this week. However, the 24-year-old is considered a work in progress, with former Liverpool striker Michael Owen saying he needs "a lot of coaching" after a wayward performance against Union St. Gilloise earlier this month. Speaking on TNT Sports, Owen said: “It's either a lack of confidence, a lack of ability or a lack of concentration, but in theory most professional football players should be able to finish it. “Nothing he does really surprises me, and I mean, he does great things and then terrible things, he has so many holes in his game and I think he has the raw material to be a player high level, but he needs a lot of coaching” and maybe a little more experience. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also monitoring Osimhen's situation as they themselves have problems in front of goal. Summer signing Christopher Nkunku is expected to be out until January with a knee injury, leaving Mauricio Pochettino to rely on Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, who recently returned from a long break

As of right now, it is unknown if Diaz will play in Sunday afternoon’s Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest match.

It would make sense, though, and be anticipated, if the 26-year-old were to receive compassionate leave.

    Club statement:

Liverpool Football Club have confirmed that they are aware of the situation of Luis Diaz’s family in Colombia.

We sincerely hope that this issue will be resolved quickly and safely.
“In the meantime, the welfare of our players remains our top priority.”

The Premier League match kicks off at 14:00 (GMT) at Anfield and Diaz is likely to start.
Diaz is considered Colombia’s most important player at the moment, putting pressure on 43 goalkeepers during his international break.

So far this season, he has appeared in 9 out of 11 games for Liverpool, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist

According to reports, Chelsea’s recruiting team has identified four talented attackers to target in upcoming transfer windows
In the beginning of his tenure at Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino had to deal with injury problems and wastefulness, and he has yet to find a reliable solution up top.

On Monday night, Armando Broja presented his own argument by scoring the second goal in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Fulham, capitalizing on his first Chelsea start in nearly a year.
An equally unexpected goal scorer was Mykhaylo Mudryk, who had just scored his first Premier League goal.

Chelsea had scored just five goals in its first six league games of the season, though, prior to the start of the match at Craven Cottage.
Concerns have also been raised about summer signing Nicolas Jackson’s poor performance and injured Christopher Nkunku.

The Blues have reportedly added four strikers to their list of potential transfers in order to complete a significant deal next summer, according to CaughtOffside.

After a difficult few weeks at Napoli, Victor Osimhen is thought to be the best option and may try to force his way out of Serie A.
The social media executive resigned after the Nigerian’s agent threatened to sue the Azzurri over an offensive TikTok video posted by the team.

Osimhen has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League.
During the summer, he was heavily linked with Manchester United before they decided to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

Ivan Toney is reportedly also on Chelsea’s hit list.
Only Harry Kane and Erling Haaland scored more goals in the Premier League last season than the Brentford striker, who recently switched agents in an apparent effort to test his abilities at a higher level.

According to reports, Chelsea's recruiting team has identified four talented attackers to target in upcoming transfer windows.

Evan Ferguson, a talented young player from Brighton, is also thought to be a player of interest at Stamford Bridge.
The 18-year-old has scored four goals in a little more than 300 minutes of top-flight action so far this season, and many anticipate that he will continue to improve and have a successful career.

The fourth and final name up for consideration is Santiago Gimenez, it is believed.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Argentina and plays for Mexico on the international stage, has scored freely since moving to Europe last year.

Gimenez has scored 10 goals in the Eredivisie so far this season, averaging over a goal per game.
His outstanding hat-trick in the rivalry game against Ajax last week contributed to this astounding statistic.

Chelsea is now looking to sign a "phenomenal" forward who could cost £175 million.

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, was a target for Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea reportedly inquired about Victor Osimhen, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis valued him at £175 million at the time, according to the Daily Mirror.

If reports are to be believed, the Blues’ interest still exists despite the Serie A club’s obvious desire to hold onto their star player.

Osimhen has been elevated to No. 1 for Chelsea, according to a report from FootballTransfers last month.
In the race to sign him, they are the No. 1 target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

He had a fantastic season for Napoli last year, scoring 26 goals in 32 games.

    Chelsea’s inquiries

It comes as no surprise to learn that Chelsea questioned Osimhen during the summer.

Osimhen was among the best in the world during the previous campaign, and they needed a new striker after their experiment with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed.

However, Nicolas Jackson had to do, and the 22-year-old has struggled under Mauricio Pochettino.

Just his second of the year, it came against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.

In the end, we believe that Chelsea needed to sign a center-forward with more success and experience, like Osimhen, who has been dubbed “phenomenal” by Italian manager Walter Mazzarri.
But in the end, De Laurentiis demanded too much money from the Nigerian.

There appears to be some tension between the player and the club right now after Napoli released a TikTok video mocking Osimhen, so perhaps Chelsea or another team will try to capitalize on that in the upcoming season.

Ivan Toney, a forward, has engaged Chelsea’s club captain Reece James on social media.

As rumors about his future continued to circulate, he turned to Instagram to comment on the 23-year-old’s picture.

Toney is anticipated to leave Brentford in January, the same month that he is permitted to play competitive football once again after serving his suspension.

His time playing in England’s top division has demonstrated that he possesses the potential to rank among the top goal scorers in the nation.

After Harry Kane and Erling Haaland’s incredible seasons, he finished the previous season as the third-highest scorer, just behind them.

A number of major teams have been linked to a move for the English striker, with Arsenal the other team who is reportedly monitoring the terms of a potential £80 million deal.

Despite continuing to make significant investments in the frontline, Chelsea is once again falling short in terms of goals.

They only added Nicolas Jackson, a known striker who has developed a habit of getting himself booked rather than scoring goals, though.

As a result, there have been rumors that they are looking for a number nine, with Toney seemingly at the top of the list.

The fact that James, a huge figure at Stamford Bridge, and the Brentford player appear to already be close friends could benefit the Blues when transfer season rolls around.

They might also keep an eye on the Victor Osimhen situation at Napoli, where he appears to be very upset about how people have been treating him lately.

football.london takes a detailed look at what Chelsea could do when the transfer window opens in January 2024 and what areas of the team the board would like to address

The summer transfer window may have just ended, but people’s curiosity about the next signing never wanes.

Chelsea spent more than £400 million on new signings over the summer – far more than any other Premier League club.

The Blues were tasked with tackling several areas of the team before the window even opened, and with all the departures that followed, replacements had to be found.

This has led to another turbulent and quite extraordinary transfer window under American billionaire Todd Boehly, who – along with Clearlake Capital – has spent over £1 billion on transfer deals since taking over the club from west London last May.

We are now a few months away from another transfer window, but with the international break approaching and there not being too much to talk about in club football, what better way to spend it than waiting until January impatiently? Here, football.london takes a look at what Chelsea may need to tackle as the mid-season window opens…

    A new striker

Nicolas Jackson is expected to take part in the African Cup of Nations in January and represent Senegal at the continental tournament.
This leaves Chelsea very tight when it comes to central striker options.

By then, the club hopes Christopher Nkunku will be fit and available, but he may not be in top form after a long period of inactivity due to a knee injury.

Furthermore, Mauricio Pochettino liked to use Nkunku almost as a ‘second striker’ during the matches he played in pre-season, so we don’t really know what the Chelsea manager has in mind for the man the club signed for 52 million pounds in the summer window.

Armando Broja is expected to be able to return to action after the current international break for the first time since last December, so Chelsea are hoping to make him available in January, with Jackson likely to miss out. But the Blues could recruit another center forward during the mid-season transfer window.

football.london understands that adding another central striker in Jackson was on the agenda at Chelsea this summer but was never a priority.

Several options have been explored out the window, including Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, but no official action has been taken.

Ivan Toney is someone who has been interested in Chelsea for some time and when his football ban ends in January, a move for the Brentford striker could be on the cards. However, signing someone who has missed more than half the season due to suspension carries a risk in itself.

    More player sales

Chelsea released almost an entire squad of players during the summer transfer window, but there’s still more to come in January.
There are a number of players who came close to leaving over the summer and could still leave mid-season.

Marc Cucurella, for example, at one point seemed ready for a loan to Manchester United.
However, the Red Devils, who were looking for options following injuries to left-back pair Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, had reservations about the Spaniard and opted for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon instead.

Cucurella is someone Chelsea would be happy to let go of if the right offer was made for him. The club would prefer a permanent move for the former Brighton full-back, who has failed to impress since his expensive signing last summer, but would compromise with a loan deal.

Without Cucurella, the Blues would be willing to release Ian Maatsen, according to football.london.
This was the case this summer when the club wanted one of them to replace Ben Chilwell, who has struggled with injury problems in recent years.

    More player sales

However, Chelsea are trying to tie Maatsen down to a new contract as his current contract expires at the end of the season.
However, we don’t know if it’s because they’ve done an about-face and changed their mind about Maatsen, or if it’s just because they want to protect the Dutchman’s value.

Trevoh Chalobah was also on the verge of a move just before the transfer deadline last week. The Cobham graduate, who is still recovering from injury, was keen to join Bayern Munich as the German champions wanted to take the defender on loan.

However, Chelsea were seeking a permanent deal with Chalobah but demanded up to £50m for his signature.

The signing of Axel Disasi as Wesley Fofana’s serious injury became known all but confirmed for Chalobah that Pochettino did not view the centre-back as a direct replacement for the team.

The club will also be looking to get rid of Malang Sarr, who has flown somewhat under the radar in recent months.

Sarr, who is clearly not part of Pochettino’s plans at Stamford Bridge, was interested in his services from France this summer, but a move for the 24-year-old defender never materialized.

Levi Colwill approves £80m move to Chelsea while Mauricio Pochettino is on the three-man list
Chelsea latest: Levi Colwill sends clear message to Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino on which striker they should sign in January

Levi Colwill appears to have given Chelsea clear advice on which striker to sign on Mauricio Pochettino’s three-man list.

Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku were signed by the Blues last summer as attacking options, although the latter is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered in pre-season which kept Chelsea active late in the summer.

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has been widely mentioned given his uncertain future in Italy, but the move never materialized.

Ultimately, Pochettino started the new season with Jackson as the only fit natural forward, although Armando Broja is set to return from a lengthy knee injury suffered last December.

The Senegal international scored his first goal in the 3-0 win over Luton Town but had a game to forget against Nottingham Forest last weekend as Chelsea lost 1-0 and Jackson missed a chance in gold just six meters away.
As a result, Chelsea could look to relieve the 22-year-old by signing another striker in the January transfer window.
However, it has since been revealed that a request for a new striker was made at the end of the summer. According to The Athletic, Chelsea have asked Nottingham Forest about the possibility of signing Taiwo Awoniyi with just 48 hours remaining.

Levi Colwill approves £80m move to Chelsea while Mauricio Pochettino is on the three-man list
City Ground’s answer was a resounding no, but Awoniyi is certainly a name the Blues are considering in the winter window.
Brighton star Evan Ferguson is likely another after his hat-trick against Newcastle on Saturday night, although Man City and Arsenal are also watching his progress at the Amex Stadium.

However, Chelsea’s Colwill, who played alongside Ferguson on the South Coast last season, has given his verdict on another dangerous striker, perhaps as a subtle message to his employers.
As quoted by the Express, Colwill was asked about his media duties in England: “Was there a time when you were really taught a lesson?”

The young defender replied: “Yes, I think Ivan Toney played last season.
“I played good football when I faced him last season and it was very different and I had to quickly learn lessons. I had to have a little chat and say, “Now you have something to prove.” »

The 27-year-old, valued at around £80million by Brentford, is currently serving an eight-month ban for betting offences, but will be ready to play again on January 14.

As a result, several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, weighed the possibility of signing Toney and Colwill’s own judgment could have given Chelsea exactly what they needed to formalize their interest.

The 22-year-old could play for the Blues this weekend if he returns from injury.

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has announced he is back in training after picking up a minor injury ahead of the Blues’ game against Luton Town last weekend.

The 22-year-old was criticized for his poor performances in Chelsea’s first two games of the season against Liverpool and West Ham, failing to make a huge impact in either game.

However, he was ruled out of the Luton game with a training injury and Pochettino admitted he was disappointed Mudryk missed the game against the Hatters.

“I think he might need a few days to recover,” Pochettino said. “He won’t be available. Very disappointed with the situation, he played against West Ham for 45 minutes.

“He is a player we hope to help play the way he thinks he can. Disappointed, but at the same time it’s not a big deal. Maybe a week or a few days.”

Mudryk also missed AFC Wimbledon in the Blues’ 2-1 win in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, as the Ukraine international was left out of the match-day squad.

But the star is on his way back, having shared on his Instagram story a photo of him and teammate Malo Gusto in training and sharing a hug. He finally tagged the France international with a blue heart emoji, with Mudryk captioning the post: “Happy to be back.” He could be part of Pochettino’s squad when the Blues play Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Positives may seem hard to come by, but the return of Reece James is coming soon. Romeo Lavia is also closer to making his debut after arriving from Southampton this summer and fears over a potential absence of Levi Colwill are easing.

Despite the transfer window being closed there could still be opportunities in the free player market and with other European windows still open there could be more windfall gains for West Londoners.

Four Chelsea players in Badiashile’s return leg

Positive results for Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino seem hard to come by at the moment, but a major injury update will no doubt have given them a boost.
football.london understands Chelsea expect Benoît Badiashile to be eligible for selection for their Premier League clash with Bournemouth following international break.

The Frenchman suffered a serious hamstring injury towards the end of the 2022/23 season, forcing him to miss all of pre-season.

With the approximate date of Badiashile and Armando Broja’s return approaching, Pochettino shared the latest on the pair ahead of their Carabao Cup match with AFC Wimbledon.

“They won’t play tomorrow,” said Pochettino.
“We have to wait after the international break and then we’ll see.

Maybe Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] is closer than Broja and Badiashile but we have to judge him day by day.

Badiashile’s prolonged absence therefore means Levi Colwill’s return has been thrust directly into the spotlight and Wesley Fofana has also been diagnosed with a serious injury over the summer.
After selling Kalidou Koulibaly, Chelsea signed Axel Disasi from AS Monaco and despite having plenty of attackers at his disposal, Pochettino has played both in every game alongside Thiago Silva.

In possession, Ben Chilwell is deployed on the left wing, while Colwill switches to left-back, Malo Gusto switches to right-back and Disasi and Thiago Silva play in the middle of the back line.

However, Badiashile’s expected return could be a dramatic turnaround and football.london have taken a look at how he could impact the squad with four potential players on guard.

Toney sends one-word message amid Chelsea transfer links

The latest Chelsea market news and gossip, including updates on Mauricio Pochettino, Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk's
Ivan Toney could be at the center of a truly breathtaking transfer battle in January as his betting violation ban is set to end in the first month of 2024.
The 27-year-old was found guilty by the FA of 232 bets, his eight-month suspension ended on January 14, 2023.

Chelsea and Tottenham are two Premier League clubs already considering a move for the Brentford striker, with Arsenal and Liverpool being hinted at by Toney himself as possible targets.

“I’ve been a Liverpool fan all my life, but from an early age I loved Arsenal,” Toney told the CEO’s YouTube podcast diary.

“I enjoyed seeing Arsenal, how they play and how passionate their fans are.” According to The Independent, Chelsea and Spurs are ready to fight for the signing of Toney, who the player himself has hinted could leave the Bees very soon.

“I don’t let any of this affect me,” he said in August.
“Of course it will continue in the background, but my job is to continue to train well when I have the chance.

Keep scoring and performing well in games, but I think everyone wants to play at the top.

“Not that Brentford aren’t there, but I feel like I’m playing for a big club, fighting for trophies, that’s the kind of thing everyone wants to do.
If I had any occasion, I would be stupid not to know more.

For Chelsea, Ivan Toney is considered a potential winter window target, according to the Evening Standard. Meanwhile, Tottenham could still be in the hunt for Harry Kane’s replacement in January despite signing Brennan Johnson for £47.5million from Nottingham Forest.

With many clubs likely to start shortlisting potential targets, Toney has sent a clear message to interested teams.

Caicedo and Jackson agree on Chelsea verdict

The latest Chelsea market news and gossip, including updates on Mauricio Pochettino, Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk's
Moises Caicedo has sent a message of defiance after his error played a key role in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Caicedo, starting only his second Premier League game for the club, lost control of his own half with a turnover that allowed the hosts to break and score.

Nicolas Jackson also responded to Caicedo’s post with a simple message in the form of two praying hands emojis.
Both men will now play central roles in the rebuilding of Pochettino but must first focus on working with their national teams.
    Toney’s transfer is being considered

Even though the transfer window closed just a few days ago, Chelsea are already lined up for their first signing in January.

The Blues welcomed a number of players to Stamford Bridge last summer but Mauricio Pochettino still seems dissatisfied with his attacking abilities.

According to the Evening Standard, Ivan Toney is considered a potential target for the winter period.

Caicedo points out Chelsea’s big transfer mistake

Chelsea have had an extremely busy summer transfer window, highlighting their determination to sign Moises Caicedo. Despite turning down a number of offers and believing Liverpool had completed an unthinkable transfer hijacking, the Blues struck a record £115million deal with Brighton to sign the midfielder in early August.
The signing was followed by a nightmarish debut against West Ham, with Caicedo coming on in the second half and missing a late penalty.
A quiet performance against Luton Town helped ease the pressure, but Caicedo was partly to blame for losing the ball in front of Nottingham Forest’s goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Nonetheless, there are still rumors that Caicedo would prove to be a great, albeit expensive, purchase for Chelsea, but his record move and former Blues star performance apparently exposed a major transfer mistake.

    Huge injury update from Chelsea

According to football.london, Chelsea believe Benedict Badiashile is fit for their Premier League game against Bournemouth after the international break.

The 22-year-old defender hasn’t played since May 13 due to a serious hamstring injury but is now close to getting back to full fitness which will mean a significant boost for Mauricio Pochettino.
