Jamie Carragher criticizes Trent Alexander-Arnold's 'odd' assertion during Liverpool tirade.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher predicts that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave the club at the end of the season to join Real Madrid, citing comments Alexander-Arnold made regarding the Ballon d’Or. Carragher found Alexander-Arnold’s preference for winning the Ballon d’Or over the World Cup or another Champions League title “strange.”

In a Sky Sports interview, Alexander-Arnold was asked to choose between several achievements, including winning the Ballon d’Or. He stated, “Winning a World Cup with England – that would be immense and change the game, but I’d say win a Ballon d’Or, because I believe I can. I want to be the first full-back to ever do it.”

He elaborated, emphasizing that true fulfillment comes after retirement, saying, “It doesn’t matter how many trophies you win or medals you have got, it matters about what you have given to the game.” He expressed a strong belief in his potential: “Do I have the potential to be that? For sure. I believe it. Some people may call me deluded but I believe I can.”

After Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Carragher responded to Alexander-Arnold’s comments, stating, “He can try and win the Ballon d’Or, there’s nothing wrong with ambition, but my first thought… was ‘you’re not winning the Ballon d’Or as a right-back for Liverpool.’”

Carragher noted that “Ballon d’Or winners normally play for Real Madrid or Barcelona,” suggesting that if Alexander-Arnold aims for the Ballon d’Or, it could indicate plans for a move. He remarked on the choice between the Ballon d’Or and team achievements, calling it “a bit strange or bizarre,” adding, “you would always pick the World Cup or the Champions League, it’s a team game.” Ultimately, Carragher concluded, “the first thing that came to me when I read that interview is that I think he is going to Real Madrid.”

Replacement for Mohamed Salah found as Liverpool contract speculation arises

Replacement for Mohamed Salah found as Liverpool contract speculation arises.

Mohamed Salah may leave Liverpool for free at the season’s end, and former Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Omar Marmoush should be signed as his replacement.

Salah is in the final year of his contract, leaving uncertainty about whether he will extend his stay or depart. Hamann has endorsed Salah’s fellow countryman, Marmoush, as a suitable successor.

Currently playing in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush has netted 10 goals in 10 appearances this season. When asked about the 25-year-old’s potential in the Premier League, Hamann stated to wettbasis, “Yes, absolutely.

“I think that both Frankfurt strikers (Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike) are on the radar of the English. A wonderful couple that harmonise very well with each other. With Ekitike, we knew that he had great potential.

“He had indicated that last season, in the winter, and now he seems to be taking off. With Marmoush, I was always surprised at Wolfsburg that he didn’t really get going. But he’s a wonderful player, a great finisher, and has pace.

“So they’re both players who are obviously very interesting for the Premier League. It will be difficult to follow Salah. I don’t think he has missed ten games in eight or nine years. So it will be difficult to follow him, but I would trust Marmoush to do it.”

Hamann’s comments come after former Liverpool teammate Jamie Carragher expressed hope that Salah will sign a new contract to secure his legacy by breaking records. Currently tied for ninth on the all-time Premier League goalscorers list with Jermain Defoe, Carragher believes Salah will aim to climb higher.

    Omar Marmoush

“He’ll have an eye on Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard by the end of this season, I would imagine,” Carragher remarked on Sky Sports. “I think stats like this are one of the biggest reasons why Mo Salah will sign a new contract at Liverpool.

“Of course they’ll be talking about money and length of contract, but I think these are the things that really get the juices flowing for Mo Salah. He breaks all the records at Liverpool, but getting as far as he can up those lists, I think that’s a big part of his focus as a player.”

Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher believes that Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo might be sold in the January transfer window. Endo has dropped in the hierarchy since Arne Slot took charge at the club.

The Reds had been keen on acquiring Zubimendi over the summer but couldn’t complete the transfer. In the meantime, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have taken on deeper midfield roles under Slot, yet Liverpool may still seek to sign a specialized holding midfielder in upcoming transfer windows.

Endo has struggled to secure playing time in the Merseyside jersey, particularly in the Premier League, leading Carragher to suggest a possible January sale.

Jamie Carragher, a Liverpool legend with 737 appearances—second most in the club’s history—believes that Wataru Endo could have been traded for a player like Martín Zubimendi in future transfer windows. On Sky Sports, Carragher expressed his view that Endo may not fit the defensive midfielder profile that Arne Slot desires for his team.

“I’m not sure he’s [Endo] the kind of player that Arne Slot seeks for that position. When you mention the No.6 they were interested in, we all know that was Martín Zubimendi. He’s the complete opposite of the type of player that Endo is.”

    Wataru Endo vs. Martin Zubimendi

After the match, Liverpool Echo journalist Paul Gorst provided his player ratings for Liverpool’s performance against West Ham United. Endo, who started in midfield, did not deliver his best performance in a Liverpool shirt and received a rating of 5/10, which was warranted due to his lackluster showing.

While Endo may not have excelled that night, he fulfilled his responsibilities. The veteran has proven he can rise to the occasion, as he did in the Carabao Cup final last season, where he gave his all to help the Reds secure the trophy. It’s fitting to refer to Endo as a cult hero.

Gorst indicated that Endo seemed anxious during Jarell Quansah’s own goal. Critics also noted his deficiency in progressive passing, with Carragher’s post-match remarks further emphasizing the disappointment in his performance. It will be fascinating to see whether Slot and his recruitment team opt to sell Endo when the transfer window opens again.

Carragher dismisses Liverpool's title hopes and selects a winner between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Jamie Carragher has weighed in on the Premier League title race, asserting that Liverpool is not positioned to compete for the title this season. He speculates on whether Arsenal or Manchester City will be crowned champions and makes a bold prediction about Arne Slot’s potential success in the future.

Liverpool appointed Slot this summer as the replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down after nearly nine years due to exhaustion. Since taking over, Slot has led the team to five victories in six matches, with 13 goals scored and only two conceded. This has reignited hopes that Liverpool, who last won the Premier League in 2020, could reclaim the trophy, suggesting that the managerial change has benefited the club.

Despite the promising start, Carragher believes Manchester City will again be champions, stating that even Rodri’s anticipated absence won’t significantly impact them. After City managed a late 2-2 draw against Arsenal, Carragher shared his views on the Gary Neville Podcast: “I think it’ll be a little bit similar to last season where Liverpool are just slightly behind these two teams… really go for it next season when the manager knows everything about his squad and he looks at exactly who he wants to bring in.”

He elaborated on Liverpool’s shortcomings, noting, “He [Slot] hasn’t really bought anyone… it’s still last season’s team. I think Liverpool are the third-best team.”

Carragher discusses why Manchester City holds an advantage over Arsenal in the title race.

Carragher believes there is little separating Arsenal and Manchester City, as demonstrated by their recent 2-2 draw, but argues that Pep Guardiola’s team has the advantage. He stated, “Always when I look at the squads… I think they’ve just got a little bit more in those attacking areas.”

He noted that if Arsenal had secured the win, it would likely have been from a set-piece, acknowledging their proficiency in that area. However, he remarked, “you can’t win the game on set-pieces every week. I think Manchester City have the edge there.”

While Carragher is optimistic about Liverpool making the top four this season, his colleague Neville surprised many by predicting that Liverpool might not even finish in the top six. “The top four will look like?” Neville asked on *Stick to Football*. “We have to go Arsenal and Manchester City because we all collectively agree… I am not sure [on Liverpool getting top four].”

Carragher responded with surprise, asking, “Do you think Manchester United will get in, but Liverpool won’t?” Neville replied, “maybe,” prompting Carragher to quip, “You say this every season without fail. Bookmark this.”

Neville added, “Every season, yeah. I am quite often wrong as well… Surprise: Liverpool don’t finish in the top six.”

Liverpool identifies potential successor for Alexander-Arnold / Romano offers update on Zubimendi

Carragher dismisses Liverpool's title hopes and selects a winner between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Although Liverpool may not contend for the title this season, concerns about Trent Alexander-Arnold potentially leaving at the end of his contract have prompted the club to compile a list of possible replacements.

At the top of Slot’s wishlist is Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking right-back Jeremie Frimpong, who has a €40m exit clause set to activate next summer. Reports indicate that Frimpong is one of three Leverkusen players Liverpool is monitoring in preparation for the 2025 summer transfer window.

Additionally, Martin Zubimendi, a summer target who turned down a move to Liverpool, remains on the club’s radar, especially since he reportedly regrets his decision. Fabrizio Romano has provided an update, confirming that Liverpool still has interest in Zubimendi, though they have not yet received any official word about a change in his stance.

    Casemiro

The first two goals Liverpool scored at Old Trafford on Sunday came from a header by Luis Diaz at the far post from a cross by Mohamed Salah.

The match began end-to-end, with Casemiro setting up Ryan Gravenberch with a terrible misplaced pass that allowed Liverpool to break quickly.

The Dutchman then fed Salah to set up Diaz. Both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have criticised Casemiro for his part in Liverpool’s first two goals at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Casemiro’s blunder came just minutes after he’d aroused the ire of the Man Utd faithful by handing the ball away in critical situations twice in rapid succession.

Neville smashes Casemiro for loose pass.

Commentator Neville of Sky Sports was clear on who was to blame for Man Utd’s deficit after analysing the goal.

“Casemiro, the number of times he gives the ball away in poor areas, for a player with such experience,” Neville remarked.

This is his first attempt at a pass, and he is not under any pressure. Although Liverpool has made errors in some areas, Mo Salah is a class act, and the cross tastes great.

Neville and Carragher talked about Casemiro’s second mistake

    Casemiro

In a few seven minutes, Casemiro’s horror intensified as Diaz caught him in possession. Salah then found him inside the box once more, making the score 2-0.

“Diaz goals, two mistakes from Casemiro,” Carragher remarked.

“If you’re going to win at Old Trafford when you smell blood, you have got to go for it,” Neville stated in reaction to Casemiro flailing his arms in the air in an attempt to get a free kick.

“There was never a foul when Casemiro was shoved off the ball. Liverpool has now switched to Manchester United’s back four.

Neville continued, “I would go as far as saying Casemiro has lost his confidence a bit,” just before the halftime whistle blew.

“It can happen to you in games if you are someone who has won numerous Champions Leagues.”

Arne Slot, who started the Premier League match against Ipswich Town without including this Liverpool player in his starting lineup, has been praised by Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

Even if he won’t always start games for Liverpool, Harvey Elliott might have a significant part to play this season. He was a fantastic sub last season, and at Ipswich Town last Saturday, Dominik Szoboszlai got off to an earlier start than him.

Even though he is still only 21 years old, it doesn’t mean he can’t advance even further in the upcoming months. In agreement, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have compared Elliott to one of the top players in the Premier League. Carragher said to Sky Sports, “[Arne Slot’s system] actually probably suits him a little bit more than Jurgen Klopp’s.”

“Under Klopp, he used to play on the right in place of Mohamed Salah, but he lacks the speed for it. He is a centre of gravity player, in my opinion. Slot, in my opinion, plays closer to a 10.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both agree that the young player is Liverpool's own Bernardo Silva. Arne Slot, who started the Premier

“I always thought last season, when I watched Liverpool, every time he came on they had more about them,” Neville said. “He really enhanced them. With all due respect, I believe he is a player that would be fantastic in Spain and that he will have a fantastic future at Liverpool. To be honest, his playing style and technical proficiency…

“He would be loved by Pep Guardiola. Similar to a Bernardo Silva, you evaluate him based on his style of play. The other day, I came across the excellent term “wide-controllers.” That’s how he is. He has a broad view on the game. He would be adored by Pep. He’s a player I like.”

According to Liverpool.com: Elliott is a great talent with plenty of room to grow, He will still be extremely valuable even if he is unable to pass Szoboszlai to become Anfield’s first number 10 on the roster. Although he won’t like it, he benefited by playing more minutes on the bench the previous season. Because he had saved his legs, he was more alert and fresh when we saw him.

Journalist shares the TRUTH about Bruno Guimaraes to Liverpool link following £51m deal rejection

    Martin Zubimendi

Since Martin Zubimendi chose not to accept a transfer to Liverpool, focus has shifted to possible substitutes.

The Euro 2024 winner chose to remain with Real Sociedad, which was a disappointment for the Reds, who had targeted the Spain international in a £51 million deal to strengthen their defensive midfield options.

The fact that there is still time until the transfer window shuts to conclude some business will undoubtedly come as a blow to new head coach Arne Slot, who hasn’t welcomed a new player since taking over for Jurgen Klopp in the dugout.

Regarding potential Zubimendi substitutes for Liverpool, it’s important to note that Teun Koopmeiners, who played for Slot at AZ Alkmaar, has been actively courted.

That being stated, Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United is one name that has been circulating lately. Journalist James Pearce, however, has disclosed the giants of Merseyside’s position on a potential sale.

Liverpool “not interested” in Bruno Guimaraes

“Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has been touted as a possible alternative to Zubimendi – but senior Liverpool sources, kept anonymous to protect relationships, are adamant they have no interest in the Brazilian,” Pearce wrote in The Athletic.

Given what the 26-year-old has recently spoken regarding his future, it’s a good thing Liverpool has no plans to pursue a deal for the Brazilian; otherwise, another rejection would have been imminent.

“I have never stated that I would like to leave; I am here. As reported by the Daily Mirror, “Since I signed, I want to add my name to the club’s history and nothing changes.”

“My agency is interested in this; I don’t get involved in it. I have no knowledge about it. Newcastle is my main priority, and I’m happy.”

After hiring Enzo Maresca as manager, Chelsea had another hectic summer, while rival Liverpool allowed Arne Slot to stick with the current team.

Jamie Carragher believed his old team Liverpool would have been the ideal fit for the Portuguese winger, therefore he was disappointed to see Pedro Neto signed by Chelsea.

Neto became Chelsea’s most expensive summer acquisition when he left Wolves. On Sunday, the £54 million player made his team debut after substituting in a 2-0 loss to the defending champions, Manchester City.

While Liverpool hasn’t provided their own new manager, Arne Slot, with the same resources, Chelsea has added multiple players to replace Enzo Maresca. Slot, the former manager of Feyenoord, seems content with his team, albeit Giorgi Mamardashvili might be his first acquisition since taking over.

In 2020, Liverpool raided Wolves for Diogo Jota, and Neto filled in for him. But this summer was not going to see another Molineux swoop, and Carragher made that clear.

When evaluating impact signings from Premier League clubs, Carragher stated Sky Sports, “The reason I’ve chosen him is because I think, but for injuries, I think this is a player that could play for the best teams in the world – I really do believe that.” “I’ve been watching him play for Wolves for the past three or four years, and I’ve always said, ‘I wish Liverpool would sign him.’”

“I just hope he stays healthy because I love how good and fast he is with the ball. He scores goals.” The only thing that worries me is that Cole Palmer likely likes to play on the left foot, where he is most effective when cutting in.

After hiring Enzo Maresca as manager, Chelsea had another hectic summer, while rival Liverpool allowed Arne Slot to stick with the

“Even though Wolves is not my side, I think he’s a rare talent and a player I love to watch, so if Chelsea could keep him fit, I think they could succeed. I really get a little sad when I hear he’s injured. So, yes, I would really like to see him stay healthy because, in my opinion, he is among the best players in the Premier League when healthy.”

Chelsea manager Maresca noticed some encouraging signs from the first weekend of the season, despite the team’s opening loss. The Italian remarked, “We don’t like to lose, but I thought the performance was there.” We faced up against the greatest team in the world, and while we mostly played at the same level as them, there were times when we performed even better.

We had opportunities, and I believe that the main area where we and them differed was in the box and in how they handled the ball in the closing stages of the match—a skill at which they excel.I believe our performance was excellent overall.”

On Thursday, Chelsea and their new addition, Neto, will meet Servette in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off, which may be the start of their season. Following that, they will play their second league match of the year at Molineux, where Neto will play his old team.

Liverpool midfielder Jamie Carragher anticipates Liverpool midfielder to make surprise exit with a message from Arne Slot

    Jamie Carragher

Since taking over as manager of Liverpool this summer, Arne Slot has not yet signed a player.

The middle of the park is only one of the many places of the pitch that Liverpool fans want their team to improve.

Thus, it makes sense that the fans were displeased on Monday night when they learnt of Martin Zubimendi’s situation.

According to sources who spoke with HITC, Zubimendi has turned down the opportunity to move to Anfield, which has led Real Sociedad to believe certain things.

The Merseyside club is in no better shape as a result, as additional midfield legs were required before to the Premier League opening.

The Reds will visit Portman Road to play newly promoted Ipswich Town in their Premier League opener.

Wataru Endo is the most appropriate player for the number six position for Liverpool, thus you have to wonder if Slot will decide to switch up the lineup this season.

However, Jamie Carragher believes the 31-year-old is the “opposite” of what Slot has tried with every other player in that spot during the preseason and wants from that position.

Carragher told Blood Red that he anticipates Endo, who only came last summer, will make an unexpected leave and be sold.

Carragher believes Endo isn’t the right candidate to be the new manager of Liverpool, but you have to wonder how much that will change in light of the unwelcome Zubimendi news.

Wataru Endo hinted to leave Liverpool

Wataru Endo tipped to leave Liverpool

“I believe that the final preseason game demonstrated to all of us players that if you are on the team in that final memorable preseason game, then you have a great chance of playing,” Carragher stated.

“It appeared that he had Gravenberch in the sixth spot; if he gets the signing he desires from Real Sociedad ahead of schedule, it will be interesting to see who he places there.”

The thing that strikes me as particularly noteworthy about the holding midfield position is not just that we made a bid for the player, but also that the manager has used every single player—aside from Endo—in that capacity. I am aware that at the beginning of the American tour, he played him. Was Betis the target of that? Although I missed the game, I read in some reports that he struggled with it. I believe Endo will leave. I feel rather certain about that. In that function, he nearly seems to be the exact opposite of what Slot desires. That does not imply that he is a subpar athlete.

That does not imply that he is a subpar athlete. It simply indicates that when a manager wishes to use a slightly different set-up, strategy, or game. I honestly believe he will play almost everyone there rather than Endo, which is why I believe he will move on.

    The transfer window for Liverpool.

The club has not received any new members, but its outgoings are beginning to increase.

With Fabio Carvalho joining Brentford, Liverpool has started a mass exodus, and more could happen in the upcoming weeks.

However, failing to bolster the squad will only cause unfavourable fan sentiment to spread and eventually find its way onto the pitch.

Not to mention that Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah with contracts expiring in the summer, Ally McCoist has expressed shock that van Dijk hasn’t received an offer for a new deal.

Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Liverpool has also been announced in response to his recent activities; the authorities on Merseyside need to take control of the situation before it gets out of control.

The 31-year-old Mohamed Salah’s contract will expire this summer, but he hasn’t indicated that he wants to leave, and Liverpool doesn’t have any plans to sell. Richard Hughes, the new sporting director, will talk to Salah about his future after he starts his new position and Arne Slot is appointed.

Liverpool hopes Mohamed Salah will stay at Anfield for the upcoming campaign.

This summer, Salah, 31, will begin the last year of his contract, and there have been fresh rumours of his moving to Saudi Arabia.

But Salah hasn’t indicated that he wants to leave, and Liverpool doesn’t have any plans to sell.

After Arne Slot, the manager of Feyenoord, is chosen as the new sporting director and Richard Hughes formally begins his job, it is anticipated that Salah’s future will be discussed. Klopp’s replacement is expected to be named.

The forward’s decline in form and the altercation between him and Klopp on the touchline during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with West Ham have only fueled speculation over his future at Anfield.

    Jamie Carragher of Sky Sports

    Jamie Carragher

After last week’s Merseyside derby loss, Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher remarked that Salah has been a “shadow of himself for a lot of this season” and hinted at the potential of the forward being moved.

“There is a real discussion for the new manager about what the future holds for Mo Salah – it’s the first time we’ve asked that question,” Carragher stated.

“There is a real discussion for the new manager about what the future holds for Mo Salah – it’s the first time we’ve asked that question,” Carragher stated to Sky Sports.

Al Ittihad showed interest in Salah last summer, but Saudi Arabian teams won’t pursue the striker this year until he explicitly states that he wants to move there.

Salah refused to relocate to Saudi Arabia, even though Al Ittihad was willing to pay more than £100 million.

As the professional game enters its next phase of development, Saudi Pro League (SPL) clubs will prioritise recruiting younger players this summer.

Salah’s desire to join the SPL and the purchase club’s financial ability to make the transaction work would determine the terms of any possible offer.

SPL teams anticipate a quieter summer after spending nearly £800 million on purchases last summer.

Leading Saudi football figures advise clubs to adopt a more thoughtful and long-term strategy in the market rather than squandering large sums of money on gaudy purchases.

Pundit Gary Neville of Sky Sports:

    Jamie Carragher

“I’ve watched a lot of Liverpool games lately, and Salah isn’t at his level. I was at the Merseyside derby. He is and has always been a fantastic player, but in the Merseyside derby, he completely failed to perform.

He didn’t even touch the ball once during the first half. He was squarely in front of me, facing Mykolenko, and I don’t recall him winning the ball. That was noticeable. After thirty or so minutes, I believe we demonstrated that he had five or six touches.

“They weren’t getting him into the game, and he wasn’t in it. Mo Salah, though, generally enters the game.

“You’re thinking, ‘okay, OK,’ when Ashley Young enters the game in the second half and genuinely replaces Mykolenko, who took a knock. Let’s get started. At 1-0 down and with Liverpool struggling to stay in the title race, he’ll fancy this. neighbourhood derby.

“Mo Salah just ran into a solid wall. You have to exercise caution because there was a player named Son here [in the north London derby] who appeared to be suffering and was gone when he struck a brick wall approximately eighteen months ago.

“These players play football so often and so consistently, and for the past six or seven years, Salah has been virtually always there. There just comes a time when you require a respite.”

Following Jurgen Klopp's departure, Jamie Carragher predicts who will lead Liverpool as manager going forward.

Jamie Carragher has been evaluating the managerial background of Xabi Alonso.

Jamie Carragher thinks Xabi Alonso will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool after comparing the Spanish manager’s career to those of Jose Mourinho and Klopp.

The 42-year-old is presently the favourite to replace Klopp, who declared he would be leaving the role following a stellar nine-year tenure at Anfield.

After joining Anfield in 2004, Alonso played for five years before being selected for Rafa Benitez’s Champions League winning team in his first season. Since taking over as manager of Bayer Leverkusen in 2022, when the German team was headed for their first-ever Bundesliga championship, Alonso has received a great deal of praise for his work there.

With a 3-0 victory against championship rivals Bayern Munich on Saturday, Leverkusen extended his team’s winning streak to 31 games across all competitions and took a five-point advantage atop the Bundesliga standings.

Furthermore, Carragher acknowledges that Alonso’s “remarkable” performance at the BayArena makes him think of Mourinho and Klopp’s underdog victories at FC Porto and Borussia Dortmund before to receiving their big breaks in Europe.

We’re going to take a look at it because, in my opinion, there’s a good likelihood he’ll take over as manager of Liverpool going forward; he looks like the clear favourite. Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher remarked, “When you think of the great managers and where they start, a lot of them do something pretty remarkable at maybe a lower level.”

Even though one of their talented players' contracts is about to expire, Liverpool does not intend to offer them a new one this summer.

“You consider Jose’s Champions League victory at FC Porto, or Jurgen Klopp’s two titles with Borussia Dortmund, and now I consider Xabi Alonso. If he succeeds in what appears to be their current favourite endeavor—winning a Bundesliga—and the outcome they achieved this past weekend, I believe it will be incredibly illuminating to observe, should he play in the Premier League next season, what kind of a player he is. In what ways does he approach it differently from Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team?

Carragher went on to analyse Alonso’s style of play, pointing out that the Spaniard uses strategies akin to those of Pep Guardiola, who managed Alonso at Bayern Munich in 2014.

“Liverpool are a more direct team, they go faster, they use counter-attacks more,” said Carragher. “This team, Bayer Leverkusen, and possibly his impact are more in line with Pep Guardiola. Since he has been his manager, Manchester City has been more prevalent.

“However, I believe that Xabi Alonso will succeed Jürgen Klopp as manager of Liverpool. Liverpool has been lucky that Klopp is leaving at this time and moving on, so Xabi Alonso’s timing to take over is ideal for the work he’s doing.

“He needs to establish his own concept and leave his mark on the group. But under Jürgen Klopp, this team has become so accustomed to playing in a particular way. Xabi Alonso is also aware of the intensity of the Anfield crowd and the atmosphere. In fact, I believe that if he were hired, the two approaches would combine.

“But he’s without a doubt the best young manager available right now, in my opinion.”

Liverpool leads the Premier League going into their home match against Newcastle on New Year’s Day, but the team is still anticipated to make purchases during the January transfer window.

Although Liverpool may lead the Premier League going into their match against Newcastle on Monday, manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t happy with his team’s current composition.

The manager is looking for a temporary left back solution for January. The German manager will have yet another challenge with Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo scheduled to go for the Asian Cup and AFCON, respectively.

After the game against Newcastle, the Reds will have three weeks off from league action, but that doesn’t guarantee they’ll have enough time to complete their tasks. On January 7, they have a big FA Cup match against Arsenal, followed by the home leg of their League Cup match against Fulham.

    Carragher criticises the Chelsea owner

As a Liverpool transfer target prepares to leave Chelsea in January, Jamie Carragher has attacked the “mess” caused by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

Conor Gallagher, a midfield player who had been connected to the Reds, participated in the match against Luton amidst growing rumours about his future. Ange Postecoglou has been following the England international since he moved to north London in the summer, and it has been widely reported that Tottenham is now leading the race and in talks over a prospective trade.

“Gallagher has been Chelsea’s best player this season along with Cole Palmer, this just shows what a mess the new ownership have made at the club,” Carragher posted on social media. “Selling an academy player because it helps with FFP.”

    The Fulham full-back line up

According to reports, Liverpool has spoken to Fulham about the prospect of acquiring USMNT defender Antonee Robinson in January.

Due to injuries, both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas will miss the beginning of 2024, leaving Jurgen Klopp without any natural left-back options. On Boxing Day, Joe Gomez filled in there during the 2-0 victory over Burnley.

The 26-year-old former footballer for Wigan and Everton joined Fulham in the summer of 2020. Since then, he has made 128 appearances for the team in all competitions, scoring three goals. He is reportedly amenable to moving to Anfield.

Solanke might give the Reds an edge.

    Solanke

With 12 goals in the Premier League this season, Dominic Solanke has drawn interest from teams like Arsenal.

Furthermore, the Liverpool Echo claims that Bournemouth’s large financial transfer will really help Liverpool. A 20% sell-on option was agreed by sporting director Michael Edwards, in addition to the £19 million repayment that the Cherries made in 2019.

It implies that the Reds might potentially make millions of dollars if the 26-year-old makes a significant move. For the Merseyside club, Solanke only made 27 appearances across all competitions, with one goal.

Liverpool is planning a dramatic move for an attacker valued at €90 million.

    Rafael Leao

Rafael Leao is the guy whom Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are eyeing to add to their attacking options.

Some of the top teams in the world, including Liverpool, are vying for the AC Milan star.

Francois Plateau claims that the Merseyside club is interested in the Portuguese midfielder and that they may make an offer that includes Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as well as a player-plus-cash arrangement.

The writer disclosed that the heirs of Liverpool feel that the Serie A player is the ideal successor to their former hero, Sadio Mane.

Mane departed the team to play for Bayern Munich, one of the biggest teams in Germany, and then joined Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team.

Leao, 24, is regarded as one of Europe’s most desirable residences at the moment. The left-handed attacker has made 182 appearances for AC Milan across all competitions, scoring 47 goals.

His most recent deal with Milan is valid until the summer of 2028. He joined the Italian powerhouses from the French club Lille.

Luiz Diaz was acquired by Liverpool from Porto, but due to injuries throughout his stay in England, he has not had a significant impact at the team.

Since joining Liverpool in January 2022, the Colombian international has made 69 appearances for the Premier League champions and scored 16 goals.

With five years left on Leao’s deal, Milan is in a great position, albeit it is unclear if the Italian team is interested in Diaz as a replacement.

Liverpool will be well-positioned to contend for both the Premier League and the Europa League in the second half of the season if they are able to sign Leao.

Klopp is anticipated to be busy during the January transfer window in order to deal with some of Liverpool’s problems
