Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp gives Ryan Gravenberch injury update as he makes history

Jurgen Klopp is pleased with Liverpool’s efforts in Austria after goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah gave his team victory over LASK in the Europa League

Liverpool got off to a winning start to their Europa League season by beating LASK on Thursday evening.

The Reds were not at their best in Austria, but goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah helped Jurgen Klopp’s team to a 3-1 victory.
Liverpool fell behind for the fourth time in five games when Florian Flecker scored into the bottom corner, but the Reds improved after the break.

Nunez scored from the spot to make it 1-1 after Diaz was brought down and the Colombian winger gave Liverpool the lead after a low cross from Ryan Gravenberch. Salah then came off the bench to score a third and make the match secure

Liverpool will now turn their attention to their Premier League clash against West Ham on Sunday.
Here you will find the latest news about the club.

    Gravenberch injury not serious

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp gives Ryan Gravenberch injury update as he makes history

Gravenberch made his first Liverpool start since his £34 million move from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day.
He made a good impression by going up and down the pitch and recording his first assist.

But it looked like his full debut may have been ruined when he went down in the second half after a strong run forward.
Salah was called from the bench as Gravenberch cautiously walked away

Luckily Klopp confirmed that it was nothing serious for the 21-year-old midfielder.
He told TNT Sports after the match that the Dutchman was suffering from cramps after a long period without regular playing time.
“He told me he had a cramp and that makes sense,” he said.
“I think it was his first start in a long time.”

End, who was only making his second start for the Reds, remained largely unnoticed.
In truth, there wasn’t much to write home about before he came off; this game was all about what he could offer in possession.

Harvey Elliott: 6 out of 10.

After perfectly placing a cross to find Nez, he might have been due an assist, but it was his pass to Bajeti that broke down the defense and resulted in the penalty.

    (7/10) Ryan Gravenberch (off 75′) 7/10

While LASK struggled to stop Gravenberch fairly, he drew a lot of fouls and made a few errant passes before perfectly positioning Daz with a low cross.

Responding to Jurgen Klopp's complaint and challenging Liverpool's choice, LASK's head coach says it's "not a big deal."

Thomas Sageder, the head coach of LASK, responds to Liverpool’s 3-1 Europa League victory over his team at home.

When Liverpool defeated the Austrians 3-1 on Thursday night, LASK head coach Thomas Sageder questioned whether Liverpool’s second goal should have stood.

A Darwin Nunez penalty, along with goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, helped Jurgen Klopp’s team rally after falling behind 1-0 at the break.

The victory marked the start of their Europa League group-stage campaign.

Sageder questioned whether it was appropriate to give Liverpool a penalty after Diaz was brought down in the box, but he was more upset with a purported foul that occurred before the Colombian’s own goal.

We need to improve on a few things, he told reporters, “but we could compete against Liverpool.”.

“Every loss can be turned into a learning experience, and that is what I will tell my players.

“We actually anticipated their lineup to be that way. We paid no attention to names.
We learned that Liverpool is a top team in the second half.

To win balls and create situations was very difficult for us.

“I will have to check the penalty; I don’t know what it is.
I believe there was a foul against us prior to the second goal, but I will need to double-check it.
    “.

Sageder downplayed Klopp’s complaints about the Raiffeisen Arena pitch in the meantime.

Perhaps Mr. Klopp is accustomed to different pitches, he suggested.
But I believe it was manageable and not a big deal.”

Jurgen Klopp may make eight changes for Liverpool’s Europa League match against LASK

In their opening Europa League group stage match, Liverpool might select a very different starting eleven.

In their opening Europa League group stage match, Liverpool might select a very different starting eleven.

For the start of their Europa League campaign in Austria this week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may make adjustments. The Reds have made a strong start to the new Premier League season, but on Thursday night (5:45 p.m.), they will focus on European soccer.

They will play LASK, the third-placed team in the Austrian Bundesliga, in their Group E debut as they return to the Europa League for the first time since 2016–17.

Prior to back-to-back home games against Union Saint-Gilloise and Toulouse, Liverpool will be looking to get off to a strong start in the competition.

Up to eight players who started Saturday’s victory over Wolves could be benched.
Alisson is almost certain to be replaced in goal by Caoimhin Kelleher for his first game of the year.

And the back four may see two changes, with Jarell Quansah possibly the lone player who keeps his spot. He impressed when he made his debut at Molineux.

After missing the previous two games due to suspension, Virgil van Dijk could join him.

To make sure he is ready to face West Ham at Anfield on Sunday, the captain might start this game.

Due to the lack of natural alternatives at right-back, Joe Gomez may keep his position, but Kostas Tsimikas should start over Andy Robertson on the left side.

In their opening Europa League group stage match, Liverpool might select a very different starting eleven.

A brand-new midfield trio might be used.
Wataru Endo could be a good replacement for Alexis Mac Allister as the No. 6 despite the fact that he only played for 45 minutes at the weekend.
It’s still impossible to contact Thiago Alcantara.

After several standout performances as a substitute, Harvey Elliott deserves to get the ball. He may, however, replace Mohamed Salah in the front three.

Klopp would undoubtedly prefer to give the goal-hungry Egyptian a break than to give him a start in order to boost his numbers.

The youngster Stefan Bajcetic could then take Dominik Szoboslai’s place on the right side of the midfield trio for the remainder of the game. Ryan Gravenberch, who made his debut at the weekend but only as a late sub, might replace Curtis Jones.

Diogo Jota struggled in attack for his previous team, Wolves, and should have a chance to find more rhythm against LASK.
Darwin Nunez, who was more animated than Cody Gakpo at Molineux, might be expected to round out the lineup and create mayhem in Linz.

After the Europa League draw, Klopp stated, “They [the three opponents] have our full respect.

In their opening Europa League group stage match, Liverpool might select a very

Since I haven’t participated in the Europa League very frequently in my life, it will be all the more memorable for me.

“They will be enjoyable and challenging.
    Everyone wants to defeat us.
    Preparedness is required.
It is my responsibility to make sure that we are extremely greedy in all of these games if we hope to advance in the competition.

Potential Liverpool starting lineup versus LASK: Kelleher; Gomez*, Van Dijk, Quansah*, Tsimikas; Endo, Gravenberch, Bajcetic; Elliott, Nunez, Jota*.

Pitaluga, Jaros, Konate, Matip, Scanlon, Mac Allister, Jones, and Clark could serve as the bench, along with Diaz, Salah, Doak, and Gakpo.

Alisson, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold (injured), and Thiago (injured) were omitted.

'Someone that I've respected,' admits the £50 million Chelsea player about the Liverpool star.

Ben Chilwell, a defender for Chelsea, says he respects Andy Robertson, a star player for Liverpool.

The 29-year-old was recently listed as one of the top five full-backs in the Premier League by Ben Chilwell.

The England international said, in a statement to the Premier League’s official website, “Over the last few years, as a left-back, I’ve respected him and I’ve seen what he’s done at Liverpool.
And he has numerous awards from that venue, so he will be my fourth choice.

Knowing that Chilwell has a lot of time for Robertson is not surprising.

Of course, both players are left-backs, with the former serving as an example for all left-backs.

Since moving to Liverpool from Hull City in 2017, he has been a huge success for the Merseyside club, contributing to their numerous victories, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Another illustration would be Ben Chilwell.

Also a competent left-back is Chilwell, who Chelsea paid £50 million to acquire from Leicester City.

The 26-year-old is not currently playing there for the Blues for whatever reason. But when he does, partnering with Reece James on the other flank, he offers a lot to the team going forward, as you would anticipate from a contemporary full-back.

Chilwell is completing 2.3 key passes per league game, which is the second-highest average in Mauricio Pochettino’s team (only Enzo Fernandez is making more (2.8)), according to WhoScored.

Even though the former Leicester player now plays further forward, the aforementioned example still demonstrates his ability to spark an attack.

Nevertheless, given all of Chilwell’s attacking talent, it would be surprising if Pochettino continued to play him on the left wing for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder was substituted by the Anfield manager, according to the Daily Mail, as Liverpool trailed Wolves 1-0 at the half.
The Reds later defeated Wolves 3-1.

The aggressive substitution paid off as the more attack-minded Liverpool dominated Wolves in the second half.
However, the change may have raised concerns about Mac Allister’s starting position.

And Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, seems to be aware of this, saying: “The good thing about the first half is that it was so bad I knew we couldn’t play the second half like that.

Low energy levels made it difficult for Macca (Alexis Mac Allister) and others as well.
At halftime, we essentially made all of the game’s adjustments.

According to Jurgen Klopp says one Liverpool player really ‘struggled’ against Wolves

Mac Allister’s position in Liverpool’s starting lineup must be taken into account by Klopp.

It’s not the first time Mac Allister’s performances for Liverpool have drawn criticism, and Klopp may now be debating whether to start the Argentine international.

After receiving a red card against AFC Bournemouth last month, Mac Allister’s first few games with Liverpool haven’t exactly gone as planned.
Getting ejected at halftime against Wolves was another low point.

However, it is clear that Mac Allister has a role in the team’s strategy, so Klopp must give the midfielder some time if he is to find that role.
Mac Allister is a 24-year-old South American.

Following Liverpool's latest victory, Peter Crouch and Joe Cole concur on the winner.

Former Liverpool players Joe Cole and Peter Crouch think their team can once again contend for the championship.

After watching Saturday’s comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers, former Reds Peter Crouch and Joe Cole concur that Liverpool will be a title-challenging force this season.

A challenging first half ensued after Hwang Hee-chan gave the hosts the lead after just 10 minutes.
Following the break, Jurgen Klopp made adjustments that helped his team win.

Cody Gakpo scored the winning goal in the 85th minute before being replaced by interim captain Andy Robertson.
Hugo Bueno’s own goal, which Harvey Elliott forced deep into stoppage time, capped off a successful afternoon.

The outcome temporarily moved the Reds to the top of the standings before the rest of the day’s Premier League action began.

Manchester City, who held the top spot going into the international after winning all four games, made it five from five with a comeback of their own at West Ham to reclaim that position.

Tottenham scored twice after the 90th minute to defeat Sheffield United and tie Liverpool’s total of points.
They were the third high-flying team to win despite the odds being stacked against them.

However, before those outcomes, TNT Sports analysts Crouch and Cole, who were both Reds during their playing careers, were asked whether Liverpool would be Manchester City’s main competition for the Premier League title this year.

Cole responded diplomatically, “Yes, I believe they can push City [the closest].”.
Arsenal will be closer because we see them getting better as well.

As much credit as I want to give Liverpool for their hiring, Jurgen Klopp for the job it sounds like he’s already done, and [Mikel] Arteta at Arsenal, I think a lot depends on how City react.

“They’ve been brilliant so far — undefeated — to the shift in the players who have left them, because they’ve let some big players go.
Are the players that Man City brought going to have as much of an impact as players like [Riyad] Mahrez and [Ilkay] Gundogan who have left?

Following Liverpool's latest victory, Peter Crouch and Joe Cole concur on the winner.

“Because I believe players like those Liverpool has added will help them, and I also believe Arsenal’s players will help them,” the author explains.

“Those two clubs will be the ones putting pressure on Man City, and I sincerely hope they do so for the benefit of the Premier League.
It’s fun to watch when Man City dominates, and we give them all the respect and flowers they deserve, but we need some competition.

“This group appears capable of competing with Man City. “.

Crouch agreed, thinking that the two teams most likely to have the skills to stop Pep Guardiola’s team would be Klopp’s team and the Gunners, who play Everton tomorrow.

“City are undoubtedly the team to beat.
If you consider how Liverpool was last year and the improvements they’ve made, they are definitely back in the mix, the former striker said, but City likely will have just too much.

“I believe Liverpool and Arsenal will be the two teams in and around City, and as Joe said, hopefully they take it right down to the wire.
Liverpool has made significant advancements this year.

Live Liverpool transfer news: Jarell Quansah admission, Nico Williams switch, upcoming match, and fixtures

Moments you might not have seen in Saturday’s Premier League clash between Liverpool and Wolves

Liverpool continued their impressive start to the Premier League season by coming from behind to win against Wolves on Saturday.

Hwang Hee-Chan put the hosts ahead, but in the second half the Reds came back strongly with Cody Gakpo, Andy Robertson and a Hugo Bueno own goal to secure a 3-1 victory.

The result means Jurgen Klopp’s men extended their unbeaten run in the league to 16 games after a strong end to last season.

But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Molineux.

Klopp made it clear after the match that he found it hard to believe what he saw as Liverpool stumbled in the first half with an incredibly poor performance.

But his displeasure became evident during a break before half-time when the Reds coach called Joel Matip, one of several players in trouble, to the touchline.

Keyword: Klopp makes a wild gesture towards the central defender and throws a few pointed phrases at him. Given the progress of the second half, the message was clearly sent

    Quansah serenades

It was Liverpool’s first senior start for Jarell Quansah, who was thrown in at the deep end because Ibrahima Konate was not fit enough to start after missing the last few weeks with a muscle problem.

But the 20-year-old was probably the Reds’ most impressive defender, especially in the first half, until he succumbed to injury in the final quarter.

Wolves fans were increasingly frustrated that the youngster fell twice, forcing Quansah to limp as chants of “w**ker” echoed across much of Molineux.

Finally, Konaté, who then wrote a message to the teenager on Instagram: “You needed more security, so I came!”

Klopp was in a much happier mood than the last time he sat in the Molineux press conference room after a match in February.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool don’t currently have a target in place to take Mohamed Salah’s place in the event that he decides to move to Saudi Arabia in the future.

Jarrod Bowen, a forward for West Ham United, has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool, but Romano, writing in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, suggests that things are currently pretty quiet on that front.

Romano did imply that some scouting had taken place, but he insisted that it had been on a par with what many clubs do routinely with their players.

Liverpool supporters will undoubtedly hope that a plan is in place in the event that Salah decides to leave, whether it be in January or the following summer, as his future appeared to be in some doubt at the end of the summer.

Since Bowen has excelled for West Ham, he could be a good fit for LFC, and it appears that they are at least keeping an eye on him.

“There’s nothing concrete yet; it’s just routine scouting, but top clubs always engage in this activity; it’s not just Liverpool.
At this point, neither Bowen nor any other player have anything concrete to report.”

According to the report, Liverpool are in advanced talks to complete the £48 million signing

    Piero Hincapie

In recent months, Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

It appears that Liverpool are currently in advanced talks to sign the defender.
According to a report from Ecuadorian outlet Marca90 via the LFC transfer room, negotiations for the 21-year-old defender are currently advanced and the deal could cost around £48 million.

Liverpool needed defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window, but chose to focus on midfield instead.
They did well to improve the midfield and now they must try to fill the gaps in defence.

Liverpool need a defender who can also act as a full-back. Hincapie certainly fits the profile and should prove to be a quality long-term asset for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are currently the club’s only reliable central defenders. While the likes of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have been very useful players for Liverpool over the years, their fitness is unreliable and they have clearly deteriorated over the last year.

Liverpool need better players to compete with elite clubs and Hincapie has the potential to become a top-class defender.
The left central defender can also act as a left back.
Additionally, he can play in a three- or four-man chain.

He has the technical and physical requirements to succeed in the Premier League. The reported £48m transfer might seem like money well spent in the long run.

Liverpool make £60m-rated West Ham star their top January target with Klopp to axe seven-season veteran

    Nayef Aguerd

Liverpool is said to be planning to sign West Ham star Nayef Aguerd in the January transfer window and believes they can beat Manchester City to his signature by letting go of a well-liked long-serving star in the process.

After saying goodbye to six stars since the end of the previous season, the Reds spent the summer re-building their midfield. And while the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and the ineffective Arthur Melo were anticipated for some time, the sales of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were much more unexpected.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp had to make four additions to his squad to strengthen Liverpool’s engine room, with Ryan Gravenberch becoming the final addition on deadline day.

The goal for the Netherlands international will be to make his Liverpool debut against Wolves this Saturday. Klopp must now decide how to best accommodate the Dutchman alongside fellow newcomers Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Waturu Endo.

It’s definitely a good problem to have, and Liverpool finally has a large pool of young players from which to choose in their midfield against struggling Wolves.

It is simple to overlook the fact that Klopp actually sought to bolster the defense during the summer transfer window.

The Reds manager was actually looking for a new right-back as well as a new center-half.
And Klopp didn’t start concentrating on his midfield until Fabinho and Henderson had left.

Klopp will reportedly review his strategy to bolster his defense in January, according to The Sun. And they claim that when the transfer window reopens in just 112 days, he plans to sign highly regarded West Ham center-half Aguerd.

Man City is a rival for Nayef Aguerd, according to Liverpool.

    Nayef Aguerd

Only arriving at the London Stadium in the summer of 2022, the Moroccan international has since established himself as one of David Moyes’ top picks.

In fact, the 27-year-old has played 33 times across all competitions for the Hammers, scoring three goals, and is finally starting to live up to the £30 million West Ham paid Rennes for his services.

However, Liverpool are now preparing a move amid rumors that Manchester City have also added Aguerd to their list of targets.

The Hammers, however, won’t give up Aguerd easily and will anticipate getting their money’s worth for a player who is now close to reaching his prime.

Klopp will, however, reportedly focus all of his efforts on rebuilding his defensive unit going forward, according to the newspaper.
Joel Matip, a veteran of seven seasons, is currently 32 and may have recently let his standards slip.

The same age as him and showing signs of not being as strong as he once was is his fellow defender Virgil van Dijk.

But since Matip’s contract is up next summer and the former Cameroon international is no longer the top pick, Aguerd would replace him.

Aguerd is anticipated to take Matip’s place at Liverpool.

To that end, it is said that Liverpool is open to hearing offers for the former Schalke player, who might finish his career in the Bundesliga.

Van Dijk’s position would change in any deal for Aguerd, who was rumored to be moving to Saudi Arabia during the summer. Van Dijk is frequently chosen as the left-sided center-half, so the addition of the Moroccan left-footer might allow him to switch to the right-side of the central defensive line.

As a result, Klopp is likely to make the 30-times Moroccan international his top target in January, and a sizable offer is likely to cause West Ham to give it some serious thought.
And a quick path to the Liverpool first team could give them a competitive edge over City, who spent a lot of money to bring Josko Gvardiol there over the summer.

Jurgen Klopp's agent confirms the possibility of leaving Liverpool to go to work in Germany

Germany is looking for a new leader after dismissing Hansi Flick.

The 56-year-old Liverpool manager’s agent has shot down rumors that he might leave for the vacant position as Germany manager.
Following Hansi Flick’s dismissal by Die Mannschaft over the weekend, Reds supporters might have feared their manager would leave the team.

Following Japan’s 4-1 friendly victory over Germany in Wolfsburg, Flick met his end.
The former Bayern Munich manager was fired, making him the first German manager to be fired since the position was first created in 1926.

Consecutive losses to Colombia and Poland came before the defeat to Japan. Germany reversed their fortunes by defeating France 2-1 on Tuesday night without Flick.

Klopp was obviously thought to be a name towards the top of their hit list because the country is currently searching for their next permanent manager.

However, according to Marc Kosicke, the manager of Liverpool’s agent, Jurgen does not qualify for the national coaching position because of his long-term contract with Liverpool.

In April of last year, Klopp pledged his future to Liverpool, and his current contract is expected to keep him there until 2026.
Having previously stated that he would need a break from the game in 2024, it is unclear if he will try to stay past that point.

Jurgen Klopp's agent confirms the possibility of leaving Liverpool to go to work in Germany

Due to his failure to guide Liverpool to a top-four finish in the previous campaign, the German’s time at Anfield hit a rough patch.
Although their early-season domestic form has been a source of encouragement for fans, the Reds are thus playing in the Europa League this season.

Liverpool has won all four of its games and is currently third in the Premier League standings, two points behind Manchester City, who are the league’s current leaders.
Significant victories over Newcastle United and Aston Villa will have boosted Klopp’s team’s confidence going into the break.

After defeating Villa, Klopp said, “I don’t know the last time we were that convincing.
And we have played some excellent games, particularly at the end of the previous campaign and similar events. That was really impressive.

    “We had a fantastic appearance.
Control and direction were combined in almost the ideal way.
    That is how it felt.
Everyone wanted the ball, protected it, demonstrated it, or offered it, so we could effectively use the formation today. So, there’s no denying that it was a great game.
