After a disappointing 2022–23 season, Liverpool will be looking to start the following year strong as they attempt to compete with Manchester City in another title matchup.

Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp had a terrible season after coming so close to winning the quadruple but losing in the Champions League.

However, the Reds will take some consolation from their successful finish to the 2022–2023 season as they aim to return to the title race the following year.

The last-ditch attempt by Klopp’s team to knock Manchester United and Newcastle out of the final two top-four spots narrowly failed. But their seven-game winning streak will have increased confidence and optimism around Anfield that they can make a big comeback in August.

Stay tuned to Mirror Football to find out who they will play in their opening matches as the 2023/24 fixtures are released at 9am. Getting off to a strong start will be essential to their hopes.

Alternative Mason Mount is set to show Liverpool why he should be Jurgen Klopp's next signing
Liverpool will be targeting plenty of Under-21 talent, including a midfielder who could be the perfect transfer and who Jurgen Klopp will absolutely adore.

The European Under-21 Championship is always a hotbed of talent, but perhaps there will never be a tournament as strong as the current edition, which takes place in Georgia.

There have probably never been so many potential Liverpool transfer targets to watch for Jurgen Klopp.

At this summer’s tournament, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Mykhailo Mudryk will leave their senior squads to represent Georgia and Ukraine U21 teams respectively.

When you consider the former was one of the best players in Europe’s top five leagues this season and the latter one of the most expensive transfers last season, that’s huge.

Meanwhile, Liverpool targets such as Khéphren Thuram, Micky van de Ven, Manu Koné, Roméo Lavia and Ryan Gravenberch will also compete for their respective nations, despite now being veteran professionals.

Of course, Liverpool scouts will be busy, especially with Gabri Veiga also at the tournament, who Fabrizio Romano says will remain a player on the Reds’ radar.

The Spain international might be the most interesting player for Liverpool to watch despite all the exciting stars in the tournament.

Alternative Mason Mount is set to show Liverpool why he should be Jurgen Klopp's next signing
Veiga plays on the right side of midfield, unlike most midfielders associated with Liverpool. That already makes it a unique target, but that’s not the only aspect of its quality that sets it apart from the rest.

He is also one of the few players who would be undeniably capable of bringing a new dimension to Liverpool.

Earlier this year, Liverpool looked to sign Mason Mount, and in profile Veiga is a very similar type of player, capable of getting into the box and developing possession.
Last season, he scored 15 La Liga goals in 36 games and stood out for his overall offensive prowess.

For example, according to Wyscout, Veiga has scored the third most contacts in the opposition penalty area (2.3 out of 90) of any midfielder in La Liga this season. He is also top 15 for progressive runs (1.97) and top 10 for completed dribbles.

Impressively, of the players whose teams ranked in the bottom ten of La Liga’s league table for average aggregate possession according to FBref, only one player has scored more across both stats than Veiga in Kang-in Lee.

And this is an important factor to consider, as players who play on teams with more ball possession will always average more dribblers and progressive passes, as well as more touches.

But while Veiga’s offensive stats are impressive, his defensive performance is just as impressive.

He is a player who puts pressure and has a lot of defensive activity in the last third of his opponents, very much in line with Klopp’s philosophy of defending himself from the attack.

His speed and stamina make him a real nuisance for opposing defenders and an absolute weapon for a team playing in a gegenpressing system. Veiga’s pressing is forceful and not necessarily reflected in his defensive strength.

He averages a lot of interceptions and defensive duels for a player in his position, but what’s not necessarily reflected in the numbers is how much ground he covers and how well he eliminates opponents. to close them to force errors.

It’s an aspect that stays under the radar at Veiga and that’s why it makes perfect sense for Liverpool.

Over time, he will also work under Klopp’s tutelage at Anfield to become more effective not only in pressing but also in defence.

All in all, Veiga is essentially tailor-made for Liverpool and the European Under-21 Championship will likely only confirm that to fans eager to taste his quality.

Roundup of Liverpool’s rivals: Sadio Mané may be on the verge of a surprise transfer, and Manchester United may soon follow suit with a double boost.

Liverpool has had a good week because Alexis Mac Allister’s acquisition marked the ideal beginning of the club’s summer rebuild.

The Argentine, who signed a five-year contract at Anfield, is the first element of Jürgen Klopp’s overhaul after the disappointing 2022–23 season. The Reds may have already gotten the best deal of the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, who says the cost could be as little as $44 million (£35 million/€41 million).

The addition of Mac Allister undoubtedly raises the bar for Liverpool’s competition during the transfer window. Teams in the Premier League and abroad will undoubtedly be looking to follow suit during what is expected to be a busy few months as the season comes to a close tonight with the Champions League final.

Among those who might be moving is former Liverpool favorite Sadio Mané, who is rumored to be on the verge of a shock move to Spain, while Manchester United might be getting closer to a double signing to open their business.

In order to look at the news at other clubs, Liverpool . com scans the other major Premier League and European teams.

Sadio Mané piqued the ‘interest’ of Real Madrid.

Roundup of Liverpool's rivals: Sadio Mané may be on the verge of a surprise transfer, and Manchester United may soon follow suit
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Sadio Mané is a target for Real Madrid this summer.

Less than a year after leaving Anfield, the former Liverpool star has been heavily linked with a move away from Bayern Munich. Mané is one of seven players who have been added to the Bundesliga champion’s transfer list, according to German outlet Bild earlier this week.

However, the Senegal international may now have access to Spain. Mané’s situation is being “evaluated” by Real Madrid, claims Galetti (on Twitter), as they search for potential reinforcements for their attacking options.

Mané doesn’t appear to be very settled in Germany, so if a move this summer is possible, it might be best for both the player and the club, according to Liverpool .
    com.
However, a transfer to Real Madrid would be unanticipated.

While the Spanish giant is in need of a new striker as a result of Karim Benzema’s departure, Mané didn’t hold the position for very long at Liverpool, and it would be very difficult for him to unseat Vinicius Jr. from his preferred position on the left. As Mané struggles to find a place to call home after Liverpool, one can’t help but worry that he might end up becoming the next Philippe Coutinho.

Manchester United receives a double boost in transfers.

Roundup of Liverpool's rivals: Sadio Mané may be on the verge of a surprise transfer, and Manchester United may soon follow suit
According to reports, Manchester United has received a double transfer boost because two players are interested in joining Erik ten Hag’s team.

Even though United beat Liverpool to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season and qualification for the Champions League the following year, the club has yet to begin its summer transfer business. But for his team to be competitive for the league or a European trophy, Ten Hag still has a lot of work to do.

Axel Disasi of Monaco and Rasmus Hjlund of Atalanta are two players who have reportedly expressed interest in joining Old Trafford this summer, according to The Mirror.
This may have aided in his efforts to find new signings.

Le Parisien reported that PSG will not compete for the signing of Khéphren Thuram from Liverpool, and Roland Virkus, the sporting director of Borussia Mönchengladbach, confirmed that the German club would be open to selling Manu Koné this summer for the right price. Meanwhile, Liverpool has also received a double boost.

Liverpool . com asserts: While Manchester United may also be in need of some major changes this summer, it’s important to keep that in mind as well. They undoubtedly require a new goalkeeper, a new striker, as well as possibly new defenders and midfielders.

Disasi and Hjlund would undoubtedly address two of those issues, but you have a feeling that United supporters would be a little underwhelmed by the striker selection once more. Hjlund has nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances this season, which would not immediately address Ten Hag’s problems in the front.

Arsenal and a 24-year-old target of Liverpool are in advanced negotiations.

Declan Rice, who is wanted by Liverpool, is the subject of advanced negotiations with Arsenal.

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham United, according to The Telegraph (Subscription Required) [h/t Liverpool Echo].

In the Premier League, Rice has consistently stood out as a midfielder, and a move to a top club this summer seems likely.

Rice was given permission to leave the team in the summer by Hammers chairman David Sullivan after West Ham won the UEFA Conference league.

Liverpool is one of the teams vying for the player’s services, but all top have undoubtedly expressed interest. Arsenal, however, appears to be in the lead for the midfielder right now as they prepare to submit their first official offer.

Arsenal and a 24-year-old target of Liverpool are in advanced negotiations.
The competition is on, but Arsenal undoubtedly has the upper hand due to their availability of Champions League football and secondly, their continued presence in London.

The team did a great job of bringing in Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion early in June, and it is now free to pursue other targets.

We still require more high-caliber midfield depth. There is no use in sitting around and congratulating ourselves on getting Mac Allister. To strengthen our midfield, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Rice is undoubtedly one of Liverpool’s targets, but it’s unclear whether the club will be willing to engage in a price war with Arsenal or pursue other targets like Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram, who have recently been linked to the team.

In this summer’s transfer window, Liverpool and Manchester United might share the same thoughts.

Jurrien Timber is reportedly Erik ten Hag’s top target, so Manchester United will likely bolster their defensive unit this summer. The success of Jurgen Klopp’s subtle formation change toward the end of the season has led Liverpool to the conclusion that they are also in the market for a new central defender this summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho moved into midfield as a result of the system change, while Andy Robertson moved into a more central position alongside Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. While Robertson struggled to make the same impact further back, Alexander-Arnold flourished in his new position.

In the new system, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are still options for Klopp, but reports have suggested that Liverpool will look for a different central defender to give him another choice. Given that Timber is not the only player who could possibly fit perfectly into Klopp’s system, United and Liverpool may have to compete with one another in the transfer market.

Express Sport examines three additional players who have been connected to a move to Old Trafford and who would also be useful to Liverpool.

    Josko Gvardol.

The Croatian international is what Klopp needs and would be the ideal addition to Liverpool. They don’t come much better than Gvardiol if Liverpool wants to stick with their strategy of pursuing young, highly regarded players.

In order to possibly cover for Robertson in the new system, Klopp will also likely be searching for a left-sided center-back. However, Liverpool’s only concern would be the sum required to wrest him from RB Leipzig.

According to reports, the German team is looking for an offer for the center-back that exceeds £85 million, which could rule Liverpool out of the running.

One of four players that could be ideal for new Liverpool strategies is the Man Utd target.
    Kim Min-Kae

Kim, who was named the best center-back in Serie A this past season, was essential in assisting Napoli in capturing their first league championship since 1990. He only moved from Fenerbahce to the Italian team a year ago, and at a cost of about £15 million, it is now regarded as a tremendous bargain.

At 26 years old, Kim has a little more experience than Gvardiol, but he would be available for a lot less money because of a release clause in his contract. United are thought to be the favorites to sign him, but Liverpool will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on his situation.

    RCB Axel Disasi.

The Frenchman’s talents are unaffected by the fact that he is the least expensive of the four options on this list. According to reports, a deal to bring the Monaco defender to Old Trafford is almost complete, and the French club is seeking a transfer fee of about £35 million.

Disasi, who plays center back primarily on the right side, has recently received high praise in France. Disasi’s skills would make him difficult to pass up as a centre-back signing if the opportunity arose, even though he wouldn’t exactly fit what Liverpool needs in that position.

Manu Kone: Gladbach director notifies Liverpool of a transfer

The sporting director of Borussia Monchengladbach, Roland Virkus, has made it clear that the team is willing to sell midfielder Manu Kone to Liverpool for the right sum of money.

Liverpool is working diligently to identify a second new midfielder after successfully acquiring Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister for a steal. Many clubs in Europe have expressed interest in Kone, but the Reds have intensified their pursuit of the 22-year-old in recent weeks by starting negotiations with his agents.

While it is believed that Gladbach wants to keep Kone, club director Virkus has acknowledged that the team will sell any player if their asking prices are met.

Kicker was informed by Virkus, “Our attitude is well-known. “If there are financial considerations a club like Borussia must make, we will comply.”

Liverpool has spoken with the representatives of fellow Frenchman Khephren Thuram, who recently discussed his future and insisted he was not in a rush to leave Nice, and who Liverpool is also considering as a potential replacement for Kone.

Mason Mount of Chelsea, Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich, Ruben Neves of Wolves, and Youri Tielemans of former Leicester are all on Liverpool’s lengthy shortlist as the Reds look to continue their midfield rebuild.

This summer, the team lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Naby Keita, with the latter signing a contract with Werder Bremen to play in the Bundesliga once more. Since his loan was up, Arthur has also come back to Juventus.

Fabio Carvalho, a 20-year-old midfielder, will also be permitted to leave on loan this summer due to dissatisfaction with his insufficient playing time in the previous campaign.

Liverpool is getting closer to adding another midfielder, with the agreement of personal terms.

Liverpool successfully acquired Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton on Thursday, and the Reds are now looking to add a midfield partner for the World Cup winner.

Due to Fabinho’s declining performances throughout the previous season, Jurgen Klopp is looking to add a defensive midfielder to his lineup for the upcoming season.

The Reds have made Khephren Thuram of OGC Nice a target, and according to FootballTransfers, the Merseyside club and the 22-year-old have reached an agreement on personal terms.

A transfer fee is reportedly being discussed between the two clubs, with Nice reportedly looking to get the most money for the French star and Newcastle reportedly having an interest in the midfielder.

Since January, Liverpool has been keeping an eye on Thuram, who is reportedly pushing for a transfer to Anfield with his entourage.

With the defensive midfield position becoming vulnerable over the past year under Fabinho’s leadership, the 22-year-old would be a huge boost for Klopp going into the upcoming season.

The Frenchman appears to be Liverpool’s second acquisition of the summer transfer window, and after that deal is done, Klopp will focus on bringing in a third midfielder to complete his overhaul.

What the Brighton players had to say about Alexis MacAllister leaving Liverpool and the simple transfer decision

The signing of Alexis Mac Allister by Liverpool is discussed by one of the ECHO jury members.

Following the impressive acquisition of Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool’s summer transfer window has opened.

On Thursday morning, the 24-year-old was introduced as the Reds’ first summer acquisition. He has committed to the team for five years. Mac Allister will be prepared to jump right into Jurgen Klopp’s midfield next season after making 98 Premier League appearances prior to his arrival at Anfield.

selecting No. The World Cup champion will have big shoes to fill when he plays during the 2023–24 season after inheriting the No. 10 shirt from its previous owner, Sadio Mane, but Mac Allister comes across as an induvial who is ready to take on this new challenge in his career.

The versatile midfielder, whose goal now is to help Liverpool contend for the biggest prizes in the game, has already helped Brighton secure European football for the first time in their history.

To be able to compete with Manchester City next season, Klopp’s team will need to make more additions to the roster, with a focus on bringing other midfield targets to Merseyside. Although he will need to be supported by acquisitions of comparable caliber, Mac Allister represents a step in the right direction for the Reds’ recruitment drive.

What the Brighton players had to say about Alexis MacAllister leaving Liverpool and the simple transfer decision
A comment on Liverpool’s new No. 10, ECHO jury columnist Andrew Cullen thinks Mac Allister has all the skills required to make an immediate impact.

Mac Allister gives Liverpool’s midfield some much-needed qualities, according to Andrew Cullen (@BrothersRed5).

The signing of Brighton’s elusive midfield maestro Alexis Mac Allister has given Liverpool’s summer transfer activity a promising start.

Some reports state that the fee could be as little as £35 million, which, if true, would be a wise choice for the business. In addition to being financially wise, the deal is also wise for Liverpool because they will be bringing in a young, energetic midfielder with a strong history in the Premier League.
The Liverpool midfield, which was dull and uninspired last season, will get some zing and flair from Mac Allister.

Last season, Mac Allister began to make a difference for the Brighton team after a lackluster start to life in the Premier League. He was a crucial part of Brighton’s remarkable rise. He also excelled on the international stage by winning the most coveted award in football in Qatar, in addition to his impressive performances on the domestic stage.

What the Brighton players had to say about Alexis MacAllister leaving Liverpool and the simple transfer decision

Given that Brighton plays a dynamic, attacking brand of football that is not too dissimilar from Klopp’s heavy metal brand, Mac Allister’s transition ought to be smooth, at least on paper. He should be able to complement Henderson and Fabinho’s more practical pairing and synchronize with a Thiago or Trent pairing with his playing style.

His former Brighton teammates are complimentary of not only his physical skills but also his disposition, mentality, and personality. In a player, Klopp searches for this modest ambition.

The signing of Alexis Mac Allister is a good start for Liverpool’s summer business after the disappointment of losing the race for Jude Bellingham. Naturally, Liverpool still needs to add speed and power to its midfield and perhaps defense, so it is hoped that this transaction is just the beginning of things to come this summer.

Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah, at the beginning of 2024.

The Africa Cup of Nations has been confirmed to take place during the domestic campaign, meaning Liverpool will suffer for the second time in two years from a mid-season tournament.

Only at the beginning of 2022 did Jurgen Klopp have to play without Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita because of when the AFCON was scheduled to take place.

Thankfully, Liverpool’s campaign did not falter in their absence, and with just one representative left in the team, they will hope for the same in 2024.

Salah’s presence in the Ivory Coast will cause him to miss some games for the Reds as Salah’s Egypt are currently in first place in their qualification group for the competition of next year.

The contest was moved to the winter and will begin on January 13 and end on February 11 due to the Ivory Coast’s summer months’ heavy rain.

Although the dates of the tournament have been known for some time, they serve as another reminder of what Liverpool can expect in 2023–2024.

Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah, at the beginning of 2024.
Salah and co. departed for the tournament less than a week before it began, and another similar timeframe will undoubtedly be sought to minimize the amount of time away.

Further reducing the number of games Salah might be expected to miss is the Premier League midseason break, which will occur between January 13 and January 20. We will learn more about this when the fixtures are revealed on June 15.

The 30-year-old skipped five Liverpool games while representing his country at the previous AFCON, where his team lost to Senegal’s Mane’s Senegal in the championship game.

More concerningly, though, is the fact that it will add to a schedule that already includes more than 4,000 minutes for Liverpool alone in each of his six seasons to date.

One of his best qualities is his availability, but there will come a point where he reaches a breaking point, and the Reds will have to manage and prevent it.

Recently, Aksam has revealed that Liverpool have sped up their efforts to finally sign the 18-year-old starlet.

According to the media outlet, the teen sensation is currently worth around 15 million euros on the market.

Declan Rice sent a transfer message to Liverpool amid reports of a £100 million transfer.
The legendary Peter Crouch of Liverpool has instructed his old team to sabotage a transfer for Declan Rice, who is wanted by Arsenal.

The Reds started their ongoing recruitment campaign by signing Argentina player Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton after initially abandoning plans to pursue Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham this summer due to the associated financial costs.

It is now anticipated that more midfielders will be added.

In that regard, the names of France’s Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone have been mentioned, but Crouch believes Liverpool should go above and beyond to sign Rice, an English international who he describes as “classy.”. After leading West Ham to victory in the Europa Conference League, Rice is anticipated to depart the club this summer.

The 24-year-old will, however, be quite expensive if he departs, much like Bellingham, another England midfielder. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City are just a few of the prospective suitors who may have to fork over £100 million or more to land his services.

Declan Rice sent a transfer message to Liverpool amid reports of a £100 million transfer.
But Crouch thought it would be worthwhile. Alexis Mac Allister is a wise acquisition for Liverpool, he told Paddy Power. Although he’s a fantastic player, the supporters will want to see more additions before the start of the following campaign. Additional midfielders and defensive reinforcements would be welcome.

Declan Rice entering the picture would absolutely make my day, even though I know he’s being linked elsewhere. He’s a gentleman, and I believe he could join any team and make a great signing for them.

Given that he will be very expensive, it is likely that Liverpool won’t sign him. He’d be a wonderful addition. “.

Crouch, who appeared 135 times for Liverpool over the course of three seasons, continued, “I was thrilled to see him [Rice] pick up the Europa Conference League trophy with West Ham. People sneer at the competition, but I thought it was brilliant, and you’ve seen the scenes.

I was overjoyed for the players, fans, and manager because they all loved it so much. “.

It all comes down to one man as Liverpool sabotage United’s transfer ambitions for the third time in a year.

It all comes down to one man as Liverpool sabotage United's transfer ambitions for the third time in a year.
Alexis Mac Allister, who made it clear that he only had eyes for Liverpool, attracted interest from Manchester United as well.

On the surface, it appears that Alexis Mac Allister had no choice.

In one corner, there is a team that is on the rise, back in the Champions League after a brief absence, with a manager who won one trophy in his first season, made another final, and is anticipated to further expensively strengthen his squad this summer.

In the other, a team that had its worst full season under the current manager, was eliminated from the Champions League for the first time in seven years, and had just witnessed two of their most decorated players leave for nothing was compelled to give up on their pursuit of a long-term summer transfer target due to financial constraints.

But football isn’t always so cut and dry. in cases involving Jurgen Klopp, in particular.

Yes, the discounted release clause for Mac Allister that was negotiated into the contract signed with Brighton in October made the 24-year-old a particularly appealing prospect to Liverpool under the transfer model used by Fenway Sports Group. He would have otherwise been available on a free at the end of the season. Given that Enzo Fernandez, Mac Allister’s midfield partner in the Argentina World Cup final, joined Chelsea in January for £106 million, the Reds’ recruitment team should be commended for being aware of such a clause.

It all comes down to one man as Liverpool sabotage United's transfer ambitions for the third time in a year. However, the player’s decision was ultimately made by Klopp and his understanding of Liverpool’s future goals and how the former Argentinos Juniors player fits into those goals. Manchester City had also been snooping around, but Liverpool’s allure and their unstoppable manager prevailed.

Of course, Mac Allister isn’t the first player to choose to join Klopp’s Liverpool over offers from other prominent Premier League clubs. Virgil van Dijk, who chose to move to Anfield over Chelsea or Manchester City, is a good comparison because both players came from South Coast sides.

Antonio Conte was the manager of Chelsea, who held the championship in the summer of 2017. And Pep Guardiola had finished the season he needed to settle in at the Etihad and adjust to English football.

However, neither was Klopp. Van Dijk was persuaded to move by the Liverpool manager’s ability to paint a picture of a potential future at Anfield, even though the Reds ultimately had to wait a few months before it was finalized in January 2018.

“Obviously, from a Liverpool perspective, everyone is aware of how vivacious he is, how he can improve players, and how he can inspire them. The defender said after completing his £75 million transfer, “It just suits me as well.

Similar circumstances occurred with Sadio Mane, who was also plucked from a South Coast club, Southampton, in 2016. Mane turned down Manchester United in favor of joining Liverpool.

It all comes down to one man as Liverpool sabotage United's transfer ambitions for the third time in a year.
Mane admitted last year, “I must say, I was very, very close to joining Manchester United. “There was the contract I had. I had it all figured out. It was all set up, but I decided that I wanted to travel to Liverpool instead. I was persuaded to support (Jurgen) Klopp’s initiative. I can still clearly recall the first time Klopp called. We have a significant project at Liverpool, and I want you to be involved, he said. “.

Mane and Van Dijk, to a lesser extent, were both taking bigger risks than Mac Allister, who joins Liverpool knowing Klopp has previously swept the board with major victories and last season came just short of leading the Reds to an unprecedented treble.

And there have been more recent instances as well. For instance, the Reds beat United to the signing of Darwin Nunez last summer, and Cody Gakpo could have accepted an offer from Old Trafford to stay at PSV Eindhoven until the end of the season, but was persuaded to move to Anfield in January.

The financial clout of some of Liverpool’s close Premier League competitors may be lacking. The ability of Klopp to sell a vision, however, remains priceless.

According to a journalist, Liverpool has "talked" about making a signing that could be "really good business.".

According to journalist Ryan Taylor, Liverpool has spoken with the agents of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone in what might be a wise move for the Reds.

Given how well Kone has performed in the Bundesliga and how he has distinguished himself as one of the best young midfielders in Europe, it makes sense that Liverpool would be interested in signing him.

After a disappointing season that saw the Merseyside giants fall outside the top four, Jurgen Klopp obviously needs to make some adjustments, especially in the midfield.

This summer, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all leave Liverpool for free transfers. Kone could be a better option than Fabinho, whose form dipped last year.

Taylor revealed that LFC and Kone’s representatives had spoken about the deal to Give Me Sport, and he believes that this is a great chance for the team to make a smart acquisition for a fair price.

“If he’s a player Jurgen Klopp wants to sign, then the answer would be yes, in my opinion,” said the author. There have been discussions with his delegates, according to Taylor.

“I think it would be really good business for Liverpool because he is probably available for a much lower price than someone like Mason Mount. ”.

Fábio Carvalho's position is made clear by Liverpool as Jörg Schmadtke may face a transfer conflict with his son
Media Digest: Liverpool have clarified their transfer stance on Fábio Carvalho and another player, while Jörg Schmadtke may need to make a deal with his son.

Liverpool will not sell Carvalho, but will listen to Clarkson’s proposals

Liverpool are unwilling to sell Fabio Carvalho this summer but will listen to offers for Leighton Clarkson, according to The Athletic.

Carvalho has been the subject of much speculation regarding his future, having endured a difficult first season at Anfield as playing time proved hard to come by during the second half of the season.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a $13m offer from RB Leipzig to get the 20-year-old on a permanent deal (again through The Athletic), with the Reds only open to loan offers.

They will be hearing permanent offers for Clarkson as the 21-year-old spent the season on loan at Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen, scoring six goals and providing nine assists. For Schmadtke, a transfer fight with his son threatens

Jörg Schmadtke’s son has taken on a new role at Borussia Mönchengladbach which could have implications for one of Liverpool’s rumored transfer targets.

Of course, Schmadtke senior took up his new role as sporting director at Anfield last week and Nils Schmadtke is hot on his heels, taking on the same role at Monchengladbach (via ECHO).

And that could see the father-son duo work out a deal, with Liverpool linked with Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné (via CaughtOffside).

Moreover, WAZ suggest Nils has Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven in mind as one of his top targets as the defender is also linked with Liverpool, potentially paving the way for a Schmadtke-only transfer battle.

Mac Allister selected Liverpool over Manchester United for a number of reasons, which makes Klopp laugh.

Mac Allister selected Liverpool over Manchester United for a number of reasons, which makes Klopp laugh.
It has emerged why Alexis Mac Allister rebuffed a late attempt to hijack Man Utd and insisted he join Liverpool.

The Argentine world champion, 24, is set to complete a move from Brighton to Liverpool. Personal terms have long since been agreed and Mac Allister faces a triple pay rise from £50,000-a-week to £150,000-a-week.

The player has passed the medical and Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that Liverpool have activated the clause in Mac Allister’s contract.

Exactly how much Mac Allister would set Liverpool back has been the subject of much debate. Despite initial claims that the fee would be around £70m, Romano said the final amount is a remarkably modest £35m.

So Mac Allister to Liverpool has all the hallmarks of a masterful move. However, according to the Times, Klopp’s joy could have easily turned to despair.

Indeed, The Times claimed that Man Utd tried to hijack Liverpool’s move for Mac Allister, with Erik ten Hag holding multiple chats with the player.

In the end, United’s latest attempt to ruin Liverpool’s plans has not paid off and Mac Allister’s move to Merseyside will be officially confirmed shortly.

You would expect Man Utd to have a good chance of thwarting Liverpool’s plans. The fact that they will be playing in the Champions League next year and Liverpool aren’t is just the reason.

But it came to light through Athletic because Mac Allister chose Liverpool and rejected Man Utd.
Difference Klopp, plans Ten Hag key

They argue the main reason comes down to where Mac Allister would play for the two clubs chasing his signing.

Mac Allister selected Liverpool over Manchester United for a number of reasons, which makes Klopp laugh.
At United, Mac Allister was expected to play in the double pivot alongside Casemiro. At Liverpool, he will have more freedom to move forward on the left side of Klopp’s midfield three.

According to the report, Mac Allister’s father – former Argentina international, Carlos Mac Allister – had previously told Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi that Alexis would prefer to play later.

This is the role he thrives in with Argentina playing on the left as the de facto number 10.

The addition of Athletic is pretty much the same role Liverpool have in mind for Mac Allister, although a Klopp midfielder will always be tasked with following him.

Positional dilemma played a role in Mac Allister’s decision to pick Liverpool, while a second reason has been cited, albeit unconfirmed. Mac Allister’s favorite shirt number is 10 and that’s what he wore during his time at Brighton.

Liverpool have not given away the 10 shirt to any player since Sadio Mane’s departure, but according to the Liverpool Echo, the 10 shirt will be Mac Allister’s if he so desires.

Man Utd’s number 10 is Marcus Rashford, who won’t give up easily.
While the shirt number debate may be a diversion, it’s clear Liverpool’s plans for Mac Allister have proven more appealing than Man Utd’s.
