Liverpool receives intriguing proposal for Mohamed Salah’s transfer replacement

    Raphinha

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool contract is set to expire next summer if the club cannot agree on an extension, leading to speculation about potential replacements. Jermaine Pennant has suggested Barcelona’s Raphinha as a candidate to fill Salah’s shoes if he leaves Liverpool.

Salah, along with teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, is facing the end of his contract next year. While Liverpool is eager to keep their star player, Salah hinted in September that this might be his last season with the team.

The 32-year-old is Liverpool’s leading scorer and assist provider this season, contributing to 15 goals, which is eight more than his closest teammate, Luis Diaz. Replacing Salah will be a significant challenge, as he has scored 219 goals in 362 matches since joining Anfield, a legacy few can match.

Pennant has unexpectedly proposed Raphinha, formerly of Leeds United, as a suitable replacement. The Brazilian attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea before moving to Barcelona.

Although Raphinha has scored 10 goals this season, his overall tally of 30 goals in 101 appearances pales in comparison to Salah’s output. However, it’s worth noting that Salah did not reach his current scoring rate before his £34.3 million transfer to Liverpool.

    Raphinha

Pennant remarked, “If Mohamed Salah does leave, I can see Raphinha making a return to the Premier League in a Liverpool shirt to replace him. He’s quick and fits that same style of play on the right-hand side and cutting in. He’s very tricky, and that’s what Liverpool have now with Luis Díaz and Salah.”

He added, “He’s got that eye for goal which we’ve seen from him at Barcelona where he’s doing really well – scoring hat-tricks against the likes of Bayern Munich and playing a big part in their recent 4-0 El Clásico win against Real Madrid.

His experience at Leeds would make him a good fit at Liverpool – he’s comfortable in the Premier League and managed to make an impact and score goals there despite them struggling as a team. You’d imagine that a team like Liverpool would step him up a level with how attacking they are.”

Earlier this month, Liverpool boss Arne Slot expressed frustration with repeated inquiries about Salah’s future, stating, “It’s the same boring answer as always. I could really understand if you ask me this once every two weeks, but if you ask me this after two or three days again, then you still get the same answer and people feel that I’m boring them!”

Report: Liverpool is heading to a close deal to sign a star for £68.2 million.

According to media reports, Liverpool is prepared to let go of Colombian international Luis Diaz during the summer transfer season.

The father of the former Porto player has been teasing Barcelona, saying that his son’s goal is to play for the Catalan team.

If Spanish media claims are to be believed, Liverpool and Barcelona are reportedly in talks to finalise a swap deal involving Raphinha and Luis Diaz.

Liverpool has travelled to Barcelona in order to finalise an arrangement that will see them buy Raphinha in return for Diaz, according to Catalan source Nacional.

The former Leeds United winger played a crucial role in the Blaugrana team’s 2022–2023 La Liga championship victory. Additionally, he made an impression the previous season by directly contributing to 23 goals across all competitions while playing for Xavi.

Sport first reported in April of this year that the Nou Camp team turned down a 60 million euro deal from the Premier League because they believe the Brazilian international is worth 80 million euros (£68.2 million).

Raphinha is poised to be sold by Barcelona to Liverpool, though, as Lamine Yamal is now an undeniable starter on the right wing and Raphinha is no longer needed.

After Nico Williams, their major goal to reinforce the left wing, chose to stay with Athletic Bilbao, the Spanish giants are primarily pursuing Luis Diaz.

Diaz is Anfield’s first-choice left winger. Should he depart, Cody Gakpo—who made an impression at the Euros—may take over as the starting left winger under fellow countryman Arne Slot.

If Raphinha signs with Liverpool, he’ll have to sit behind right winger Mohamed Salah, who is the team’s first choice. Nevertheless, we require a first-rate successor because the Egyptian’s contract is set to expire in less than a year.

Do you think Liverpool should proceed with signing Raphinha in exchange for Diaz?

Is Luis Diaz within Barcelona's budget?

Luis Diaz, a winger for Liverpool, has been linked to leaving the team this summer.

Spanish giants Barcelona is eager to sign him, and according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, negotiations have resumed with the intention of closing the transaction.

The 27-year-old international winger from Colombia was originally estimated to be worth €75 million. However, Liverpool is reportedly willing to approve his exit for a meagre €60 million (£51 million). It will be intriguing to see if Barcelona agrees to sign the player and meet the English club’s criteria.

The story goes on to say that the two teams might carry out a partial trade agreement that would help them both in terms of financial rules.

Diaz would be a fantastic addition, and they need more depth and talent in the wide spaces. He has established himself as a dependable Premier League performer, and since joining Liverpool from Porto, he has been an important member of the team.

For him, the chance to relocate to Barcelona might be very alluring. He would be able to test himself in La Liga and compete for championships with one of the top teams in the world, which would be a fantastic next step in his career.

Liverpool winger 'Luis Diaz' price tag revealed to Barcelona, according to report

The Spanish company, which is having financial troubles, may still have some issues with the rumoured €60 million asking price. Given the player’s status in the team, Liverpool is unlikely to sell him for a low price, and Barcelona will need to come up with a sizable summertime budget.

It’s still unclear how things will turn out.

Prior to allowing the South American winger to leave, Liverpool must also acquire a first-rate replacement. Recently, they have been associated with players such as Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United.

Barcelona and Liverpool could do transfer business ahead of the 2024/25 season. Barcelona might entice Liverpool to part ways with star winger Luis Diaz by offering to send Raphinha in the opposite direction.

The Catalan giants are looking for a left winger this summer and have identified Diaz as the best possibility. Barcelona had a disappointing season last time out, failing to win any trophies.

The squad finished second to Real Madrid in La Liga and were eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Deco feels Diaz has the attitude, technical ability, and power to create havoc on the left side, and he also praises the Colombian’s work rate and determination to track back.

Diaz is not fully comfortable at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s exit weighing heavily on him, but he still has three years left on his current contract.

And the only way Barcelona might get their hands on the gifted ace is to sacrifice Raphinha. Raphinha is highly respected by Deco, having scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 37 games last season.

Barcelona and Liverpool could do transfer business ahead of the 2024/25 season. Barcelona might entice Liverpool to part ways with star

However, he is a natural right winger who has been forced to play on the opposite flank at times throughout his career in Spain.

The 27-year-old Brazil international, who left Leeds for the Nou Camp two years ago, has already received offers from Saudi Arabia but has declined them. And now he’s desired by Premier League teams. However, Barcelona will only let the player depart if they can recruit a left winger in his stead.

Raphinha spent two seasons in the Premier League with Leeds, when he scored 17 goals and assisted 12 times in 65 games. However, he was unable to keep the Yorkshire club from sliding into the Championship after their relegation in 2023.

If Diaz leaves Merseyside, new Liverpool manager Arne Slot will undoubtedly use the opportunity to sign Raphinha. And the Dutchman may even be preparing for life without the Colombia international, since the player’s father earlier stated that it was his son’s desire to play for Barcelona.

“The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment,” Luis Diaz Snr stated last year. “It is true that Luis is a die-hard Barcelona supporter, and going there would be his dream. So far, I’d like to thank Porto and Liverpool for how they welcomed and received him.

“Luis is a player who is simple to win over because of his personality, humility, work ethic, and determination. He’s a highly disciplined player, thank God. There would be no difficulty if Luis joined Barcelona, which is a top team and one of the finest in the world.”

A Brazilian player who might play a significant role in Arne Slot’s new era at Anfield is now a target for Liverpool to sign.

Liverpool’s recruitment team will have been hard at work even prior to the announcement of Arne Slot’s appointment, seeking out candidates who can assist the Dutchman in establishing his own identity at the club.

The fact that Liverpool’s roster is already so full may be viewed as both a benefit and a curse because Jurgen Klopp recently oversaw a significant overhaul.

And while that makes it much simpler for Slot to get results at first, it can make applying his new perspective a little trickier.

However, given the departure of players like Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara, the Dutchman ought to be able to debut a number of his own recent additions.

In light of this, Belgian writer Sacha Tavolieri has just updated X with information on Liverpool’s transfers.

The journalist had first reported Liverpool’s infatuation for Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven, which dates back to March of last year.

However, Tavolieri also stated that Barcelona’s Raphinha is being considered while breaking the news.

Liverpool is making a mves of replacing Mohamed Salah with Brazilian winger Raphinha.

A Brazilian player who might play a significant role in Arne Slot's new era at Anfield is now a target for Liverpool to sign.

The journalist revealed his update and hinted that these preparations were in case Mohamed Salah decided to leave the team. “Johan Bakayoko considered as one of the names on the table of Liverpool FC for this summer,” Tavolieri clarified.

Barry Hunter and Arne Slot have verified Kayoko’s identity. The footballer is liked by Liverpool since March 2023.

The Belgian Red Devil’s top goal is to sign with a Champions League football team. It’s highly probable that he left PSV following Euro 2024.

The transfer fee will be less than the anticipated 50 million euros for PSV.

“RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are Bakayoko’s other realistic options for this summer. Not a word from PSG yet.

“The Reds are aware that, should Mo Salah depart, they will need to implement alternative plans, such as Raphinha, who is also on the short list, to cover for him on the right wing.”

Raphinha might be Arne Slot’s ideal winger at Anfield.

Raphinha might be viewed by some Liverpool supporters as a little more exciting alternative, and he would undoubtedly be more prepared for the Premier League right away.

The Brazilian, who is valued at £50 million, appears to have had a difficult time at Barcelona, but this season has shown his “extraordinary” skills for Xavi’s team in the Champions League.

And whether or not Mohamed Salah departs the team, Slot would undoubtedly welcome the addition of a player of his calibre, someone who would fit in with his dependence on his wingers to create opportunities.

    Raphinha

Raphinha, a winger for Barcelona, has been linked to Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea for the end of the current campaign.

The three teams have been informed of the 27-year-old winger’s availability and the possibility that he would be moving at the conclusion of the season. Intermediaries have reportedly notified clubs who have expressed interest in signing the Barcelona winger in recent months, according to a TBR football report.

But in summer, the winger will set you around more than £50 million. It is unclear if Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are willing to pay a premium for him, since Barcelona is hoping to turn a profit on him.

It goes without saying that Arsenal needs to sign a top-tier winger this summer. Raphinha’s arrival will not only provide the team more goals and creativity, but it will also allow Mikel Arteta to rest important players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. They need additional depth in the wide areas.

The South American is also well-versed with the Premier League, having represented Leeds United there. Next season, he might have an immediate effect.

Raphinha might be useful to Liverpool if Mohamed Salah departs.

Given that Mohamed Salah’s time at Anfield is almost up, Liverpool may need to find a capable replacement. If Salah decides not to extend his contract with Liverpool this summer, he will become a free agent in 2025, and Liverpool may face pressure to trade him. Raphinha might work well as a substitute.

It would be intriguing to watch if Chelsea decides to make a bid for the guy in the summer. The Blues have expressed interest in signing the midfielder. Given the lacklustre play of players like Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk this season, it is hardly surprising that the Blues are keeping an eye on wingers.

It will be intriguing to see where the 27-year-old ends up because he might benefit all three clubs.

Darwin Núñez, a forward for Liverpool, has previously responded “yes” to Barcelona after the Catalan club made an initial transfer attempt back in 2020.

Darwin Núñez, a forward for Liverpool, has already “said yes” to Barcelona once, and sources from Spain suggest he may get the chance to do so again. This week, transfer rumours have swirled around the Uruguayan after social media posts pertaining to Liverpool were removed.

Núñez, 24, entered the game in the 75th minute after Liverpool’s 4-2 victory against Tottenham Hotspur the previous weekend. The former Benfica player has now gone eight games without a goal after failing to contribute significantly in the match for Liverpool.

Núñez’s personal Instagram erased all but one picture of him wearing a Liverpool shirt shortly after the game, leading to rumours regarding his future with the team. The public suggestion only fueled the rumours that he was being linked to La Liga powerhouse Barcelona in recent weeks.

SPORT reports that Xavi Hernandez is showing interest in Núñez as the Barcelona manager prepares to replace Robert Lewandowski this summer. The 35-year-old, who makes among the most money at the team, is getting close to the end of his playing days.

According to the Catalan site, Núñez has already said “yes” to Barcelona in 2020 while he was still at UD Almería, indicating that this is not the first time the Catalan club has expressed interest in the player. The player was eventually signed by Benfica, and in 2022 he would go to Anfield for a reported $91 million (€85 million/£73 million).

After his tie at Almería, Núñez was supposedly ‘delighted’ with the thought of donning the Barcelona shirt and would now ‘prioritise’ a trip back to Spain. But, Barcelona’s manager at the time of the initial interest, former Everton manager Ronaldo Koeman, was not persuaded to sign the attacker. Benfica was subsequently able to enter as a result, and the rest is history.

He may now, however, be given another chance, and if he decides to leave Liverpool, reports suggest he would prefer to move to Barcelona. Núñez is already aware of the Nou Camp club, even though he is still far from moving there after coming dangerously close to doing so once.

Liverpool’s transfer news as a $63 million “bid for Mohamed Salah heir” is turned down amid goalkeeper interest

    according to Liverpool.com.

Liverpool’s transfer news comes as Barcelona turns down a Premier League club’s bid. According to reports, the Reds are considering a custodian this summer.

To guarantee that Jürgen Klopp’s term concludes with additional awards, Liverpool still has a lot of work ahead of them. The pressures of a long season seem to be getting to the players, as the Reds have had a challenging few weeks.

After the disappointing draw with Manchester United, Atalanta lost 3-0 at home to them in the Europa League. Then on Sunday, Crystal Palace defeated Liverpool for the title at Anfield with three points as well.

Since then, Klopp’s team has fallen to third place in the Premier League, and they will have a difficult challenge on Thursday when they travel to Italy to make up the difference. However, you can never write this Liverpool team out.

Throughout his tenure, Klopp has supervised some spectacular comebacks, and on Thursday night in Italy, he will be looking to lead another one. After that, attention will return to the Premier League and a stretch of away games, which begin on Sunday against Fulham.

Whatever transpires over the next several weeks will not change the fact that Anfield will have a busy summer ahead of it as Klopp leaves and his successor takes over. With new faces likely and outgoings unavoidable, there will probably be a lot of transfer dealings as well. This is Liverpool.com’s assessment of the transfer rumours that have been circulating about the Reds lately.

    Raphinha [Barcelona]

Liverpool's transfer news as a $63 million "bid for Mohamed Salah heir" is turned down amid goalkeeper interest

SPORT, a Spanish publication, reports that Barcelona has turned down a roughly $63 million (€60 million/£51 million) offer for Brazilian winger Raphinha from an unidentified Premier League. The 27-year-old had previously been linked to Liverpool, who are evaluating their options without Mohamed Salah on the right wing.

Barcelona is said to be “happy” with Raphinha’s play and would probably only take an offer in the summer transfer window for the winger if it was “irrefutable.” The player, who made an impact with Leeds in the Premier League, is expected to fetch a price tag of around $85 million (€80 million/£68 million) from the Catalan team.

Salah, who turns 31 this summer, will be entering the final year of his contract, therefore Liverpool may be looking to replace him. Liverpool may have one more chance to acquire the forward if the Egyptian moves to the Saudi Pro League, as he is once again being connected to the league.

According to Liverpool.com, Raphinha has also reportedly piqued the interest of Manchester United and Chelsea, thus Liverpool may not have been the team to make an offer. He just made an impression in the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, and if Salah decides to leave Anfield, he might become a target.

    Anthony Patterson [Sunderland]

    according to Liverpool.com.

According to reports, Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is being considered by Liverpool as a possible replacement for Caoimhín Kelleher this summer. The Daily Mail claims that because Kelleher attracted the attention of other suitors while standing in for the injured Alisson Becker, the Reds are getting ready for life without him.

During the January transfer window, Nottingham Forest expressed interest in signing the Republic of Ireland international, but Liverpool was determined to hold onto him. The article continues by saying that Liverpool would not obstruct him if he desired to be selected ahead of schedule for another team this summer.

Patterson, the stopper for Sunderland, is reportedly one of the candidates under consideration. The 23-year-old has been a consistent player for the Black Cats in recent seasons and has shown promise for the England junior teams. Over the past two seasons, Patterson has started 89 games and kept 27 clean sheets.

According to Liverpool.com. Patterson is a good alternative that Liverpool should take into consideration. Although Kelleher has performed admirably as Alisson’s backup, the recent string of games has probably piqued his interest in moving up to the No. 1 position this summer. In addition to being a good substitute, Patterson would gain from collaborating alongside Alisson.

At the end of the current campaign, West Ham United is reportedly interested in signing Raphinha, a winger for Barcelona.

The 27-year-old has been linked to a return to the Premier League, and according to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool and Arsenal have already shown interest in signing him.

Barcelona is experiencing financial difficulties, so if a sizable offer is made at the end of the current campaign, they may try to cash in on the 27-year-old winger.

It goes without saying that West Ham has to bolster their offensive options, and a goal-scoring winger would be very helpful. The Brazilian has already demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League with Leeds United and the Spanish league. At West Ham, he might have an immediate effect and help them advance. He will offer originality, style, and objectives from a variety of fields.

It won’t be simple to defeat teams like Liverpool and Arsenal. Given their vast financial resources, both teams should be able to provide him with Champions League football.

In the event that Mohamed Salah decides to leave at the end of the season, Liverpool will need a strong wide winger. For them, Raphinha might be a good option. If Barcelona is willing to let the player go, the chance to transfer to Anfield might be enticing to him.

In terms of Arsenal, they require greater offensive depth. To be able to replace players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka more frequently, Mikel Arteta needs additional choices. Raphinha would be a perfect match for Arsenal because he is adaptable enough to play on either flank.

Ten goals thus far this year: Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in a €50 million-rated attacker.

    Benjamin Sesko

Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig, has been connected to a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.

According to a BILD article, the 20-year-old Slovenian striker’s skills have caught the interest of several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Barcelona and other teams like Manchester City will compete with them. It’s unclear if Arsenal and Liverpool will be able to pay the €50 million release clause in the 20-year-old striker’s contract, which can be activated at the end of the current campaign.

Arsenal needs to add a goal scorer to the team who can challenge Gabriel Jesus for the starting lineup. The Brazilian international has only netted four goals in the Premier League this year, demonstrating his inconsistent goal-scoring ability.

With the correct coaching, Sesko might become a top-tier Premier League striker and help Arsenal with their goal scoring woes.

This season, the young, gifted striker from Slovenia has already scored ten goals in all competitions. He will probably become better with guidance and experience. He will perform better and increase his numbers if he plays with more skilled individuals.

Liverpool, however, might also benefit from having a deeper offensive lineup. Mohamed Salah may leave the Reds at the end of the year, and while Sesko isn’t the Egyptian’s logical successor, he will undoubtedly contribute to the team’s goal total.

The two English teams are undoubtedly wealthy enough to pay €50 million for him, but it is unclear where the player will ultimately find up.

Liverpool is "preparing an imminent offer" for the £55 million winger as part of their "proactive" effort to replace Mo Salah.

Liverpool is considering their alternatives while coming to terms with the prospect of losing Mohamed Salah this summer.

With a potentially busy summer ahead of them, Liverpool is considering their options after a quiet January transfer market. In addition to finding a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, the team might be getting ready to let go of Mohamed Salah.

Last summer, there were a lot of rumours circulating about the Egyptian, and Saudi Arabia reportedly made a sizable financial offer to the Reds in an effort to convince them to part with their star forward. Al-Ittihad offered an incredible £150 million for the 31-year-old, but their ideal acquisition was turned down. But Liverpool is setting up possible candidates for his replacement should he depart, and they are also getting ready for fresh bids at the end of this season.

Salah’s contract is set to expire in June 2025; Liverpool’s only two alternatives are to cash in or extend his terms, but there is no clarity on whether he will leave this summer. It is not possible to let him finish out his contract and go away for free the next year.

According to Spanish publication Fichajes, the Reds are interested in two Barcelona players who would suit the bill in the event that Salah departs. According to reports, Liverpool is adopting a “proactive stance” and has identified Ansu Fati and Raphinha as possible targets.

Liverpool is "preparing an imminent offer" for the £55 million winger as part of their "proactive" effort to replace Mo Salah.

After joining Barcelona for £55 million from Leeds United in 2022, Raphinha scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in his first season. He is currently ‘not guaranteed’ a spot in the team, and Liverpool is ‘considering’ the prospect of adding him in lieu of Salah.

The Reds are allegedly ‘preparing an imminent bid’ for Raphinha, according to the report. It is unknown how much the charge is, and if Barca will accept their offer is also unknown. The second possibility for Liverpool is Fati, who is presently on loan at Brighton, a Premier League competitor. Whether Liverpool views him as a worthy Salah substitute will depend on how he performs with the Seagulls this season.

This season, Fati has made just 18 appearances for Brighton in all competitions; during that time, he has four goals and one assist. Although the 21-year-old is a left winger by profession, he is also capable of playing attacking midfield and centre forward. Raphinha is most at ease on the right wing, but she can play on either.

Liverpool to bring Florian Wirtz alongside Xabi Alonso?

The club and its supporters have been devastated by Jurgen Klopp’s decision to quit Liverpool at the end of the current campaign. The Merseysiders, however, are keen to create a succession plan in the time they have left before the German leaves.

As Klopp’s long-term replacement, Liverpool is prioritising Xabi Alonso, who is expected to join the team should the club make a bid for him. Leverkusen may have an easy time bringing their former midfielder back because they are aware that their manager may depart for a bigger challenge.

Liverpool may attack Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz, their top asset, in addition to Alonso. The German playmaker has long piqued the curiosity of the Reds, who may make the Bundesliga team an offer of €70 million to sign him.

The Leverkusen tandem is someone Liverpool hopes to have at the team for the upcoming campaign. Numerous other elite teams are also keeping an eye on Alonso. The Bundesliga team would demand nearly twice as much to trade Wirtz, so they are unlikely to accept any offers in the €70 million range.

Liverpool will face top competition for Wirtz.

According to reports, Wirtz is almost certain to sign a new deal, which might include a significant release clause added at the player and his father’s desire. Because of this action, Leverkusen will be able to demand a high price when they sell him—reports have indicated that they are looking to get around €130 million.

Tottenham and Barcelona are also interested, in addition to Real Madrid and Manchester City. If Liverpool is successful in hiring Alonso as their next manager, they will undoubtedly have the upper hand in the competition for Wirtz.

But Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Liverpool would not consider bids for the Colombian international.

Since his debut on Merseyside in January 2022, Diaz has solidified himself as a fan favourite.

In 14 games across all competitions this season, the 26-year-old has four goals and one assist, including a vital equaliser against Luton earlier this month.

Nevertheless, it’s thought that nothing in the rumours tying Liverpool to a possible Raphinha trade involves the former Leeds player.

The Reds player signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Anfield club after leaving Porto for a reputed £37 million.

On Merseyside, he reportedly makes £55,000 a week.

With 61 appearances for Liverpool, the winger has contributed nine assists and 15 goals while also helping the Reds win the FA Cup and League Cup.

Raphinha, meanwhile, has lost favour with Xavi at La Liga winners Barcelona.

The 26-year-old, who reportedly cost £55 million in the summer of 2022, has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season, tallying two goals and three assists.

Given that Saudi Pro League teams continue to have Mohamed Salah as their primary objective, Liverpool may need to recruit a significant player to their right wing next summer.

Earlier this month on November 4, Football Insider reported that Salah had verbally agreed to relocate to the Middle East at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season.

Given that the Reds are also undefeated in Group E, it is possible that Jurgen Klopp and Alonso will reunite during the tournament’s later stages. Klopp is hoping to add the one trophy that has eluded him in his eight years at Anfield.

With his previous contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, Klopp, 56, signed a new deal with Liverpool in 2022, extending his stay until the summer of 2026. Beyond that, though, Alonso, the winner of the Champions League, has been mentioned by both Lineker and Shearer as a possible successor to Klopp in the future.

Shearer stated on the podcast The Rest Is Football: “He’s getting great reviews, isn’t he? He’s had a great start to his managerial and coaching career. If he continues on, it won’t be long until people begin to observe him if they haven’t already, and you never know.”

“I think there’s every chance that Carlo Ancelotti ends up there as manager of a certain Jude Bellingham once he walks away or is pushed out, as is often the case at Real Madrid,” Lineker stated. Furthermore, he may follow (Jurgen) Klopp in the future. You always do with these things, don’t you? Steven Gerrard will always be there.”

Shearer said, “That might all change in a year,” to wrap up the discussion. However, it appears that he will stay at the top for a very long time, doesn’t he?”

With the summer transfer window just days away, Mauricio Pochettino faces a series of tough decisions after his side have played three Premier League games.

The Argentine’s first win at the helm came against Luton Town last Friday night and he is set to welcome a newcomer to his squad with a string of eliminations yet to come. One of the players likely to leave is Romelu Lukaku, whose tentative agreement is for him to join AS Roma on loan, while defender Trevoh Chalobah is in talks for a permanent move to Bayern Munich.

Surprisingly, when it comes to new arrivals, Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe has emerged as an option for the Blues, while Raphinha and Ferran Torres are also being considered. Rayan Cherki and Lyonnais Bradley Barcola are also linked but the latter’s departure no longer seems likely, although a far-fetched theory has surfaced for Cherki. Rafhinha still goes on

Chelsea missed signing Raphinha from Leeds last summer as the Brazilian international was in favor of a move to Barcelona.

However, the Blues could stand a chance of acquiring him from the Catalan giants, especially with his place in the squad currently unclear and interest lingering in Stamford Bridge.

According to the Mail, it’s on their radar with days before the end of the summer semester. His Barcelona team-mate Ferran Torres is also being closely watched by Chelsea.

Cherki transfer tip. Lyon’s Rayan Cherki still remains a target for Chelsea, despite minimal progress on the deal in recent weeks.

Contacts had been made with the French club and Cherki’s representatives, but Chelsea began to focus on other goals. A move for Barcola now looks unlikely, however, with Brentford eyeing a move for striker and Andrey Santos’ loan to Nottingham Forest rather than Lyon affecting a deal.

With the Bees focused on Barcola, the door is open for Chelsea to formally return to action for Cherki, especially after a Chelsea scout was spotted during Lyon’s last game against Nice.

Emile Smith Rowe Relocation Opportunity. On Monday, Emile Smith Rowe proved a surprise transfer option for Chelsea as they look to sign a versatile new striker.

Mohammed Kudus, Michael Olise, Jeremy Doku, Bradley Barcola, Rayan Cherki, Raphinha and Ferran Torres are also all linked, but it looks like Smith Rowe is the current favourite.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking for a proven Premier League player, Smith Rowe, and Arsenal’s position does not rule out a departure. A source has told football.london he is unlikely to leave the Emirates Stadium but nothing is ruled out.

    Chalobah to Bayern?!

Trevoh Chalobah’s future at Chelsea is set to be decided in the coming days due to interest from Bayern Munich. The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Inter Milan but that deal fell through and he hasn’t been included in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad since, mainly due to a hamstring injury. The signing of Axel Disasi also demonstrates that Pochettino did not immediately see him as a replacement for the injured Wesley Fofana. Talks with Bayern Munich and former manager Thomas Tuchel, now Bavarian manager, then began with a probable loan move.

Earlier this summer, Chalobah discussed his future as Italy appeared to be the more likely destination for him than him, with the defender debating whether it was a suitable place to live. However, it may instead be Germany where his long-term future lies, with The Telegraph reporting that a permanent move to Bayern is under negotiation and talks are also progressing well…

Smith Rowe’s Best Position… or four!

Chelsea are a longtime admirer of Smith Rowe and he certainly fits the profile of the type of striker they are looking to add to their ranks before the transfer deadline. Smith Rowe can play up front just about anywhere – something Mauricio Pochettino expects of anyone he recruits.

In fact, Arteta has already spoken about Smith Rowe’s versatility and what he can bring to the team. “I think Smith Rowe can play four positions,” Arteta said last year. “He can play as a left winger, he can play as a left attacking midfielder, he can play as a right attacking midfielder and he can play as a nine; very, very well, I think.

There are doubts over Smith Rowe’s future at the Emirates Stadium, but the three-time England international said in June he would not give up at Arsenal despite not being one of the first names on the team list.
