Pundit has been informed of who Liverpool players at 'want' to succeed Jürgen Klopp instead of Rúben Amorim.

After Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool players are said to have a choice for their future manager. It may be the overwhelming favourite right now, but it’s not Rúben Amorim.

It goes without saying that Liverpool will want to move quickly to name a new manager. Following a crushing Europa League first-leg loss, it’s becoming more and more likely that Jürgen Klopp will only have eight games remaining in his managerial role, therefore speculation about his successor is beginning to grow.

Of course, this season still has a lot to play for, not the least of which being the Premier League championship. It would be the perfect way to send Klopp out to the public to win that, making the campaign a huge success regardless of results in other tournaments. The manager will continue to have faith in his ability to win the match against Atalanta in the meantime.

However, Michael Edwards, the head of football at FSG, will undoubtedly be searching in the background despite everything else going on. Liverpool does not want to be caught off guard when Klopp does eventually leave, but they also do not want to miss out on these final weeks of his leadership.

In light of Xabi Alonso’s choice to remain in his current position, Rúben Amorim has become the apparent favourite. Although the Sporting manager maintains he has not made a deal with Liverpool or any other team, he is still the front-runner to take over at Anfield.

But he’s not the only choice. Furthermore, analyst Alan Brazil feels that the Liverpool team does not support him.

Pundit has been informed of who Liverpool players at 'want' to succeed Jürgen Klopp instead of Rúben Amorim.

During his appearance on the TalkSPORT Breakfast Show, Brazil reiterated a previous statement. According to him, the players desire Pep Lijnders, Klopp’s assistant, to take over as manager.

He responded, “I’ll stick by Klopp’s understudy, Pep,” when questioned about the upcoming Liverpool manager. “That’s who I am told the players want.”

The news of Lijnders’ leaving was released concurrently with Klopp’s. When Klopp called it a day, he always intended to leave Liverpool, he revealed to the team website:

“I’ve always stated that I will work with Jürgen until the point at which I can no longer help anyone else; at that point, I will go and handle things. That has always been the situation. So when we talked, it was obvious to me: “Okay, then I go manage, and we finish this project that we started together.”

Of course, Lijnders would have to make a choice if Klopp’s job was up for grabs. However, the announcement made in January seemed to intentionally draw a line under that possibility almost immediately.

According to Liverpool.com, player opinions are clearly significant. However, the statistics will guide Edwards and the newly appointed sporting director Richard Hughes in their hunt for Klopp’s successor.

There isn’t much to evaluate regarding Lijnders. rating an assistant is arguably harder than rating a manager, and his one brief solo tenure in the Netherlands did not go well. Only a few months later, he was back in Liverpool.

However, Mikel Arteta clearly demonstrates the advantages of taking a chance like this. Lijnders, who would continue Liverpool’s long-standing “boot room” tradition, would also be the candidate for continuity. Yet, despite what Alan Brazil has been informed, it would require a dramatic reversal of course to name him today.

"With no disrespect"—Former Liverpool star Ben Amorim's caution in light of Barcelona's interest

Rúben Amorim is still being watched by Liverpool as a possible new manager. Giants of La Liga Barcelona will also be searching for a new manager at the end of the current campaign.

The clear favourite to become Liverpool’s manager this summer is still Rúben Amorim. After Xabi Alonso ruled himself out of the race, the Sporting CP manager—who had previously been connected to four Premier League teams—became the new front-runner to succeed Jürgen Klopp.

Amorim has not disclosed anything about Anfield’s interest thus far, despite a story this week from Sky Germany claiming that a “verbal agreement” was in place. Although those rumours are regarded as premature, there is no denying that Merseysiders have admiration for the Portuguese.

But it’s not just the Reds that are impressed. Barcelona is reportedly very interested in Amorim and has named him as their first pick to take Xavi’s place when he leaves this summer, according to The Independent.

"With no disrespect"—Former Liverpool star Ben Amorim's caution in light of Barcelona's interest

The La Liga powerhouses may challenge Liverpool for Amorim’s signing, but if he had to choose between the two teams, former Reds midfielder Steve McManaman thinks it should be an easy choice for Amorim.

“With no disrespect to Barcelona, but the financial situation is a complete mess. Although Liverpool is currently a better offer for any aspiring manager, Barca is a sizable team with a rich history, he told Betfred.

“Next season, Barcelona’s salary cap will be reduced once again, so finding players to sign will need magic to keep the books balanced. Right now, Liverpool is in a much healthier situation than Barcelona.

Deco is the sporting director, so it seems sense that Barca would be interested in a Portuguese manager. However, given their current set of constraints and the potential return of Kylian Mbappé, I believe it would be very challenging to get into that club at this time.

“Next season, Real Madrid will be even better if he does. Any manager who wants to succeed at Barcelona will find it considerably more difficult as a result.

Even though Amorim is the front-runner, the Daily Mail claims that talks have not yet started and Liverpool is still investigating its possibilities for replacing Klopp this summer.

According to Liverpool.com; If Amorim decides to leave Sporting this summer, there will be no shortage of offers, Despite being two of the biggest teams in European football, Liverpool and Barcelona are now in opposite locations off the pitch. Even though Barca has some excellent young players on the horizon, Amorim’s transfer business is probably going to be limited if he wants to bolster the team.

  • If Liverpool approves Rúben Amorim’s transfer from transfers to formation, four things will ‘absolutely’ occur.

If Liverpool approves Rúben Amorim's transfer from transfers to formation, four things will 'absolutely' occur.

Rúben Amorim allegedly has a “verbal agreement” to take charge at Liverpool for the upcoming campaign. What kind of player can the Reds expect from him if he moves to Anfield?

Although it may not be pleasant to consider, Jürgen Klopp’s last few games at Anfield are drawing near. In the best-case scenario, the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday will be his penultimate home game in Europe.

Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim is the front-runner to succeed Klopp after Xabi Alonso declared himself officially out of the running. This season, the 39-year-old is expected to win a second league title in Portugal and has become one of the most highly regarded young managerial talents in the world.

In response to questions over his future on Friday, prior to Sporting’s 2-1 victory against title challenger Benfica, Amorim declined to rule out leaving the team despite Liverpool’s continued interest. When asked where he planned to spend the summer, he replied, “I cannot make any guarantees.”

“I’m leaving Sporting if I don’t take home any trophies. That has always been abundantly evident. We need to win, so I thought it was crucial to convey that to the players. We’ll make those decisions later, but our goal is to win trophies.”

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany claims that Liverpool and Amorim have a “verbal agreement.” However, how will things appear at Anfield if Amorim succeeds? Liverpool.com has examined four scenarios that we think will ‘certainly’ occur should the Reds choose the Sporting manager to succeed Klopp.

    decision on formation

Amorim appears to be limited to using a back three at the time. However, would that hold true at Liverpool? Not always. The Reds’ current team appears much more suited to continue with a 4-3-3 shape, but a decision would still need to be made. Shifting and abandoning that would put the midfielders in doubt while also necessitating the addition of more centre backs.

Priority should be given to integrating players like Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai into the squad, but unless they were forwards, they would not be a good fit in a 3-4-3 formation. Should they take that action, it would raise serious concerns about whether players like Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah are better out wide. It would seem sense to base the team on a back four, but Amorim would have the last say.

    Liverpool’s playing style

Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

To argue that Klopp’s Liverpool plays ‘heavy metal’ football is long out of date; the Reds are far more based on dominance now than they were when the German coach took over. However, given that Manchester City and Arsenal are also the greatest at it, it would seem that Amorim’s approach is the best going ahead in the Premier League.

In short, the goal is to stifle the opposition by maybe combining possession with pressure. Even though Liverpool has come a long way towards that kind of methodology in the last few years, Amorim would probably emphasise the shift even more. It’s aggressive and thrilling, but it also takes a Pep Guardiola-esque attitude.

Layers from Sporting CP are linked with transfer

Just as when Klopp joined and many assumed that Marco Reus and other talents from Borussia Dortmund would follow him, it is inevitable that Liverpool will be connected to some players from Amorim’s former club. That never happened; in the end, even if Klopp would have preferred to sign Jude Bellingham, he did not sign a single player from the Bundesliga team.

Sporting’s most likely candidates to join Anfield are Gonçalo Inácio, Pedro Gonçalves, Morten Hjulmand, Ousmane Diomande, and Viktor Gyökeres. But Liverpool’s relationship with Amorim meant that they would not sign any of them.

Comparisons to Xabi Alonso are unavoidable

Xabi Alonso's "situation changes," and FSG, the owners of Liverpool, are "in talks" to acquire a second team.

We can be certain that Xabi Alonso will not succeed Klopp at Anfield, even though it is highly likely that Amorim will take over as Liverpool’s new manager. Although he was the early leader, the Spaniard has subsequently eliminated himself from consideration.

All the same, Alonso parallels are unavoidable. The belief among many Liverpool supporters was that the former midfield player for the Reds was the ideal candidate. There’ll be talk about what may have been if he keeps working miracles with Bundesliga champion-in-waiting Bayer Leverkusen.

Amorim or anyone else taking over at Liverpool will be held up against Alonso. However, that need not be a negative thing. It must be claimed that Liverpool has a better chance than Leverkusen of maintaining its present level of play the following season.

After Jurgen Klopp leaves as manager of Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, Sporting chief Ruben Amorim, who has long been linked to a move to the Premier League, has reportedly agreed to take over as manager.

After being a candidate for several other Premier League positions, Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as the front-runner to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Sporting is in a strong position to win the championship this season after the 39-year-old led them to their first league title in 19 years in 2021. With a game remaining, Sporting leads their closest opponents, Benfica, by four points at the moment.

Ahead of Sporting’s 2-1 victory against Benfica on Saturday, Amorim reportedly refused to commit to staying at Sporting despite having inked a deal in principle to take over at Liverpool the following season, according to Sky Germany.

Ahead of Sporting’s 2-1 victory against Benfica on Saturday, Amorim reportedly refused to commit to staying at Sporting despite having inked a deal in principle to take over at Liverpool the following season, according to Sky Germany.

“No, I can’t promise that I will stay. I made a commitment, and I can’t take it back. I will be leaving Sporting if we do not win titles. It was obvious right away that this was the wager I gave the players. “We must achieve titles,” he declared.

Ruben Amorim turned down four Premier League positions, saying he "agrees Liverpool deal."

Amorim has garnered praise from the football community for his outstanding job at Sporting and has previously been connected to several elite Premier League teams. In 2022, Aston Villa thought he would be able to take Steven Gerrard’s place.

He was hesitant to leave Sporting while they were still in the Champions League, though, so Villa ultimately hired Unai Emery in his place, and the former Arsenal manager did a fantastic job.

Amorim was also associated with managerial openings at Chelsea and Tottenham in the summer of last year, following the dismissals of Graham Potter and Antonio Conte, respectively. However, in an interview with Diario de Noticias, he openly declared himself out of the competition for both positions.

He insisted, “I’m not looking for anything.” “In addition, I want to cherish my possessions rather than what other people say. And it’s been said a lot… As I’ve previously stated, Sporting is even aware of my contacts with other teams, but I’ve always wanted to stay because I enjoy being at Sporting.”

In the end, Spurs raided Celtic for Ange Postecoglou, while Chelsea appointed Mauricio Pochettino. Amorim was linked to Manchester United later that year as a result of Erik ten Hag’s subpar season opening performance.

When questioned about the allegations, Amorim insisted that United had not yet approached him, but he did not rule out a possible move to Old Trafford. He does, however, seem to be close to making a Premier League move as Liverpool and Sporting are currently negotiating his exit clause.

Latest from Ruben Amorim to Liverpool: “Verbal agreement” on a three-year deal

According to the most recent reports out of Portugal, representatives of Ruben Amorim are scheduled to meet with Liverpool on Tuesday

According to the most recent reports out of Portugal, representatives of Ruben Amorim are scheduled to meet with Liverpool on Tuesday to discuss a potential three-year managerial contract.

Things appear to be moving quickly now that Amorim is favoured to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

It was previously reported this week that Liverpool was trying to come to an arrangement for the 39-year-old to take over at the end of a season that might see Sporting CP win both titles.

The club will meet with Amorim’s agent, Raul Costa, on Tuesday to “outline the terms of an agreement,” according to a story published in the newspaper Correio da Manha.

This follows preliminary discussions between the two parties, with the Portuguese party concentrating solely on securing Primeira Liga and Taca de Portugal awards, at least in public.

“Verbal agreement” for a three-year deal

On Monday, journalist Pedro Sepulveda further stated that Liverpool was planning to extend a three-year contract offer to Amorim. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany now seems to have confirmed this information.

Plettenberg says that since Amorim was also considered for the Bayern Munich position, he ought to choose to relocate to Anfield.

According to the most recent reports out of Portugal, representatives of Ruben Amorim are scheduled to meet with Liverpool on Tuesday

Even so, he says that there is “not a done deal yet,” but there is a “verbal agreement in principle” and the former Benfica midfielder “wants to join.”

Along with that, a compensation deal with Sporting has still to be finalised, according to Correio de Manha, who also mentioned that they would have to “convince” the Lisbon team to let their manager leave.

That should not be a problem, though, because Amorim’s contract contains a release provision.

    €10 million release clause?

Regarding the clause, many figures have been reported; nevertheless, the general consensus presently is that it is €20 million (£17.16 million) for clubs outside of Portugal.

However, there have also been rumours that Amorim and Sporting had a gentleman’s agreement that would have allowed him to sign for €10 million (£8.58 million) to join a premier team like Liverpool.

Merseyside sources have maintained that the conversations over Klopp’s successor are probably still in the early stages and that the issue is not as advanced as reported in Portugal.

But all the indicators point to Amorim taking over as Liverpool’s new manager, with Tuesday perhaps being the big day.

  • Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.

Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.

Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

One rumour is that Liverpool wants to name a successor for Jurgen Klopp by the first week of June.

Many contenders have been connected to the Anfield managerial position as the Reds hunt high and low for a manager who can continue the legacy that Klopp built over his eight and a half years on Merseyside.

Before deciding to join Bayer Leverkusen, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso was the top candidate for the position. Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, has also been eliminated from consideration.

Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting CP, is now the clear choice; nevertheless, other names that have been brought up include Simone Inzaghi and Julian Nagelsmann.

Liverpool will want to select a new manager as soon as humanly possible because of the several international competitions this summer, such as Euro 2024 and the Copa America. Football Insider reports that the Reds may reveal their new manager in early June.

Liverpool is still looking for a successor to Jurgen Klopp.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke stated on the Inside Track Podcast that Liverpool is eager to select someone soon after the 2023–24 season concludes in order to avoid any unwelcome distractions over the final stretch.

“I think more likely it will be post-season, just to be fair to Jurgen Klopp to see out the season,” O’Rourke stated.

“Liverpool won’t want any distractions as they compete for both the Premier League crown and the Europa League.

Liverpool has scheduled the hiring of Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

“The prospective targets experience the same thing. Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon, who has his own goals to pursue in an attempt to win the Portuguese championship, is undoubtedly not interested in being distracted between now and the end of the season.

Therefore, I believe it wouldn’t be fair to make any announcements about perhaps going into a new job, especially for managers who are now employed. The most likely time for Liverpool to name Klopp’s replacement, in my opinion, is after the season.

“It’s likely that discussions are still going on with a number of candidates, not just Amorim,” he continued. Julian Nagelsmann, the man leading Germany at Euro 2024, has been mentioned. I’m sure Liverpool is speaking with other potential candidates who are not in the media to see if they may be added.

“So I don’t expect anything to be announced before the end of the season. I think there will probably be an announcement in early June before pre-season.”

Barcelona, the biggest team in La Liga, has conceded defeat and believes Ruben Amorim is headed to Liverpool.

Liverpool has received support in their quest to find the next manager to replace Jurgen Klopp.

Ruben Amorim’s appointment to Liverpool this summer appears certain, since Barcelona is said to have lost interest in the Sporting boss. Due in part to the high cost of his services, the Catalan giants have moved on to other candidates to succeed departing manager Xavi.

This summer, Liverpool and Barcelona find themselves in a similar situation as they must replace two well-liked departing managers. As club star Xavi takes a well-earned break and Jurgen Klopp draws a line under nine years on Merseyside, whomever takes the helm at Anfield or in Catalonia will have enormous shoes to fill.

Both clubs were rumoured to be considering highly regarded head coach Amorim. But Barca are looking for a manager with a reasonable release clause and top-tier expertise.

Amorim doesn’t belong in any of the groups. An interested party would have to pay £12.8 million for his Sporting contract, making him one of the most costly managerial hires in history.

Sport claims that too many things are conspiring against Amorim, and that Deco, the sporting director, is now concentrating on other goals. According to the source, Barca think the Portuguese player is headed to Liverpool.

In his first season, Amorim guided Sporting to the league championship, and the Portuguese powerhouses are expected to do it again this year. With a game remaining, they lead Benfica by one point under the 39-year-old’s leadership.

This week, the likelihood of Liverpool appointing Amorim grew as word leaked out that Roberto De Zerbi had fallen further on the want list. It was originally thought that the Brighton manager’s outstanding job on the south coast was why the Reds were interested in him.

Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, and Michael Edwards, the company’s CEO of football, are rumoured to be exploring other possibilities. The other big name in the running is Julian Nagelsmann, but it’s said that Bayern Munich is interested in both him and De Zerbi.

A unpleasant diversion occurred in Liverpool’s search for a new manager last month when Xabi Alonso declared he would be staying at Bayer Leverkusen. The Spaniard, who played for Anfield for five years of his career, was the clear favourite to succeed Klopp, the manager has previously acknowledged.

In an attempt to cap off Klopp’s tenure at the club with a second league victory, the Reds are presently engaged in a fierce title fight with Manchester City and Arsenal.

How a Sporting transfer and Ruben Amorim may elevate a Liverpool star to new heights
WhoScored.com: The current front-runner for the Anfield job is Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim, and several of his star players would be a strong fit for Liverpool as well.

Xabi Alonso said last Friday that he would stay on at Bayer Leverkusen past the summer.

Due to his exceptional performance at the BayArena, the 42-year-old Spaniard was being watched by both Liverpool and Bayern Munich, indicating his high demand. Alonso has opened up a 13-point lead at the top of the table with seven games remaining, putting Bayer on pace to win their first-ever Bundesliga championship.

That means that both Bayern and Liverpool must start over. Though Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim is the front-runner for the former position, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as a possible contender for both of the major European competitions.

The Reds will be hoping to entice the 39-year-old to Anfield in the summer, even though Barcelona has also been keeping a close eye on Lisbon as they intensify their hunt for Xavi’s replacement in Catalonia.

Amorim is no new to the tabloids in Britain. The Portuguese manager was being connected to Tottenham and Chelsea, respectively, before to Ange Postecoglou and Mauricio Pochettino’s appointments. Amorim’s inevitable acquisition by one of the more illustrious English teams appears to be on the horizon; this summer appears to be the ideal time for the Portuguese manager to move from Liga Portugal to the Premier League.

Amorim is a good fit for Liverpool’s offensive coach position as they want to continue Jurgen Klopp’s excellent work on Merseyside. First off, despite playing one fewer game than other teams in Portugal’s top division, Sporting has scored at least 16 more goals (77) than any other team.

This season in Liga Portugal, they are third in terms of shots per game (16.8) and critical passes (12.9). Although the team leading the league should lead these measures, they only see the ball 58.7% of the time, which is less than championship contenders FC Porto and Benfica. As such, a slight decline is projected.

Instead, Amorim employs a pressing strategy with a lot of energy that is comparable to Klopp’s. They have, in fact, won possession in the offensive third the third-most (156) times in the division, more than any other player, led by star striker Viktor Gyokeres (40).

How a Sporting transfer and Ruben Amorim may elevate a Liverpool star to new heights WhoScored.com: The current

The formation that the two use is the clear distinction between the German and Amorim. The full-backs push forward to extend the play when the wingers cut infield from their respective flanks, according to Klopp’s preferred 4-3-3 formation. Instead, Amorim favours a three-man defence to give the wing-backs more room to operate freely up and down the pitch.

This means that Sporting’s front three is narrower than Liverpool’s, with a third center-back replacing the midfielder. Undoubtedly, the attack-minded full-backs that Liverpool has on its roster would gain from this strategy.

For instance, over the past 12 months, Trent Alexander-Arnold has frequently moved into midfield, giving the 25-year-old the freedom to utilise his offensive potential. By starting higher up the pitch, this would play to the England international’s strengths. Most importantly, Alexander-Arnold would have defensive cover from another center-back, which would assist hide his deficiencies off the ball.

How a Sporting transfer and Ruben Amorim may elevate a Liverpool star to new heights WhoScored.com: The current

To make sure the defence can develop attacks from the back the same way Sporting does, he would need the appropriate centre backs. As the centre backs try to play the ball to help break the lines, it’s no accident that Goncalo Inacio (73) and Ousmane Diomande (70.7) rank second and third, respectively, for passes per game in Liga Portugal this season.

While Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Curtis Jones provide Liverpool with the technical midfielders ready to receive the ball from the centre backs and spread the play wide, this does primarily rely on the central midfielders dropping deeper to receive possession.

Therefore, it’s possible that Amorim prioritises defence during the off-season in anticipation of a raid by his old team. In recent months, Inacio and Diomande have both surfaced as possible center-back targets for the Reds. With Amorim’s appointment, it’s possible that one of the defenders will follow the Portuguese manager to Anfield in order to assist the Sporting manager in implementing his playing philosophy.

Even if Alonso was the choice to replace Klopp, it makes sense that he would want to finish his study in comfortable surroundings, just like Amorim did.

Like Klopp, the latter is skilled at forming intimate bonds with his players, and this would help Amorim win over the Liverpool supporters fast. He might just turn out to be the perfect boss to carry on the German tradition.

Important news about Amorim to Liverpool is revealed by the reporter who broke the Nunez deal.

    Sepulveda

Even though it seems nearly impossible, Liverpool needs to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer after the German’s departure was announced a few months ago. That challenge has recently been more challenging due to Xabi Alonso’s stay at Bayer Leverkusen, but the Reds have some encouraging news after learning of Ruben Amorim’s recent condition.

Update on Ruben Amorim and Liverpool

After Alonso declared he would be staying at Leverkusen for at least another season, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes had little choice but to turn their focus away from him. In a perfect world, one of Europe’s top managerial possibilities would have been en route to Anfield; nevertheless, Alonso made his decision, so Liverpool will have to find another player.

Since the Alonso announcement, two names have come up frequently: Roberto De Zerbi, who has excelled at Brighton & Hove Albion, and Ruben Amorim of Sporting CP, who has made an equally good impression in Portugal. But according to reports, the Brighton player isn’t exactly at the top of the Reds’ shortlist right now.

Pedro Sepulveda claims that Liverpool has officially begun talks to bring in Amorim to succeed Klopp this summer and is in the lead to sign the highly-regarded 39-year-old. The manager’s purported release clause, which is worth a cool €20 million (£17 million), means that the contract won’t be cheap. However, it may be renegotiated in the coming months, and it might even be set lower for clubs outside of Portugal.

Naturally, Sepulveda was the first to report that Darwin Nunez was joining Liverpool, and it appears that he has now given Anfieldites more good news ahead of a busy summer transfer season. Should talks become fruitful, the Reds might have discovered Klopp’s successor.

“Talented” Amorim is capable of matching Klopp’s ferocity.

Any replacement for Klopp needs to have the same sense of style as the legendary Anfield player. Even if there are still a lot of differences between the two managers, Amorim can mimic Klopp’s demands for intensity on the pitch because his system employs a press that is just as oppressive as how the current Liverpool manager wanted his squad to be set up when he took over in 2015. But as Alex Barker of The Athletic noted last month, there are hazards associated with this.

Liverpool would need to give Amorim time to get used to life in the Premier League as he is still a young manager (he is 39 years old), but like Klopp, it might end up being worthwhile in the end. The fact that Klopp is leaving behind a team that is winning the Premier League right now, with academy players thriving more than they have since the days of Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen, and Steven Gerrard, will surely assist.

Amorim was called “talented” by Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout, so the Premier League might see exactly what he can do sooner rather than later.

  • The three Liverpool players who stand to gain the most from Rúben Amorim are Darwin Núñez and his explosiveness.

The three Liverpool players who stand to gain the most from Rúben Amorim are Darwin Núñez and his explosiveness.

The three Liverpool players who stand to gain the most from Rúben Amorim are Darwin Núñez and his explosiveness.

A few supporters of Liverpool expressed dissatisfaction with Rúben Amorim emerging as the team’s most recent front-runner to replace Jürgen Klopp. However, his system will benefit three guys.

Over the course of the week, opinions on Rúben Amorim’s ascent to the top of the Liverpool managerial hierarchy in place of Jürgen Klopp differed. Upon learning that Xabi Alonso will be sticking at Bayer Leverkusen for a more season, some supporters quickly became pessimistic.

When his team lost 1-0 to Hoffenheim on Saturday before rallying with two late goals, some on social media even rejoiced. Alonso had previously ruled himself out of what would have been the perfect Liverpool scenario by reiterating his decision to remain with the German team at a press conference.

Amorim has long been admired by other Liverpool supporters, who see his potential for success. There’s always a chance of doubt when a manager arrives from a lower division. Despite taking Ajax to the Champions League semifinals, Erik ten Hag brought a lot of expectations to the Premier League, but he hasn’t been able to drag Manchester United back to the race just yet.

Even so, it’s safe to say that Amorim will have a lot better setup if he does sign in the summer, since Liverpool already has Michael Edwards on board as CEO of Football, and new sporting director Richard Hughes is putting finishing touches on his wish list before he officially joins at the end of the current campaign.

It seems like Amorim’s style of play is more appropriate for taking over from Klopp. Amorim plays more directly than Alonso, who would have introduced more of a Pep Guardiolaesque style of play to Anfield. This implies that some players on the team will gain more from the new favourite than others.

    Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota, another Portuguese newcomer to the team, is one of Liverpool’s strongest attacking weapons due to his proficiency in the box and ability to convert counterattacks. Jota’s ability to convert chances will undoubtedly earn him plenty of playing time under Amorim, but it’s doubtful whether he would have played as much under Alonso, who demands more inventiveness from his two wide forwards.

    Dominik Szoboszlai

Szoboszlai’s campaign has shown signs of promise, and I believe Amorim can bring out more of him, but not as much in the midfield. He will most likely be used as a wide-forward in the 3-4-2-1 formation, however I anticipate some adjustments to be made in light of some of the better wide options Amorim will have available, such as Mohamed Salah.

Under Amorim, the 23-year-old should score more goals as he is now free to attack opponents directly and shoot with his right foot. Amorim may also use him as a centre option when the Reds need to be more offensive in certain situations. The idea is thrilling.

    Darwin Núñez

Darwin Núñez was compared to Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, who was previously connected to Liverpool, not long after Amorim was mentioned as a potential contender. In 38 games this season, the Sweden international has assisted on 12 goals in addition to scoring 33 goals. Amorim should be enthusiastic about getting the best out of him because he scores in the Portuguese league at a pace that is comparable to that of Núñez.

It would not be surprising to see the Uruguayan, who is another player who prefers a direct approach over a tiki-taka one, regarded as the starting centre striker with Salah providing support from the right wing.

In general, I don’t think Amorim should raise too many red flags. The Reds will still be able to compete with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for Xabi Alonso the following season if his first season doesn’t go as expected, but there’s a good chance Amorim will surprise a few.

Right now, his team leads the Portuguese league with a record of 22 victories, 2 ties, and 2 defeats. He has demonstrated his ability to handle both games with a predictable outcome and ones where they start as the underdog — against teams like Porto and Benfica, for example. Liverpool should stay competitive at the very least in all competitions if his style of play can be translated to the highest level, as demonstrated by their thrilling two-leg victory over Arsenal last season.
