The public is aware of Liverpool’s well-documented injury problems and feels that something needs to change.

The new lead physical performance coach is anticipated to play a significant role. 22 senior players missed a game for the Reds last season due to injuries; that’s a total of 362 games missed.

It’s a startling figure that is way too high, and it gives Arne Slot and his team a clear indication of where they need to improve.

The club’s medical staff has always performed at the highest calibre, but this summer’s events—including Ruben Peeters’s—have given rise to changes.

He joined the AXA Training Centre as the lead physical performance coach for the first team when Slot left Feyenoord, and he has already started working in his new position.

According to the Athletic, during their three seasons at the Dutch club, player availability exceeded ninety percent – a percentage Liverpool will be hoping to hit.

“One of the most successful medical and performance departments in world football” was attributed to Peeters’ contribution. They added that Slot was always open to hearing what the experts had to say.

The two are renowned for having an excellent eye for detail, with Peeters constantly searching for methods to maximise performance, including food and sleep.

Peeters gave Slot a “meticulous briefing” at Feyenoord regarding the duration of the squad’s daily training sessions. This may not seem groundbreaking, but it does demonstrate his meticulousness.

Hearing from a head coach that he is open to hearing what is being said is always encouraging, and you can be sure that as his internationals return, he will be inundated with reports.

Virgil van Dijk is exhausted from a “very, very, very long year,” as he has already made quite clear, and Peeters and the medical staff will need to give him careful attention.

Liverpool has a pair in Peeters and Slot who are willing to be patient and see the long picture, even though they did not steal Feyenoord’s whole medical and performance crew.

Finding the ideal balance between the new and current employees will take some time and effort during the summer, but the early signals are encouraging.

We’re ready for improvement after missing 670 games overall the prior two seasons due to injuries!

Liverpool may “break wage structure” to sign a young player from Chelsea.

    Rio Ngumoha

Liverpool plans to waive their traditional wage structure in order to sign Rio Ngumoha, a teenage player from Chelsea.

After Ngumoha and Chelsea’s contract negotiations broke down, Liverpool is nearing a deal to sign the highly-regarded young player from their Premier League opponents.

The 15-year-old’s West London contract ends this summer, and the Reds are willing to pay above the academy level in order to recruit him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and the England youth international are close to reaching an agreement, which would be a major win for the Merseysiders’ academy system.

Ngumoha, who was born in 2008, participated in 2023–24 as a member of the Chelsea first team after training with them earlier this year. He rose to become Chelsea’s under-21 team’s third-youngest player of the century.

The winger, who has been compared to Jamal Musiala, scored in the championship game to win the Premier League U16 Nationals “Player of the Tournament” award in October 2023. In April, he also scored in the u-17 Premier League Cup Final with a fantastic solo performance.

Liverpool can now announce the initial members of Arne Slot’s new backroom crew.

Sipke Hulshoff, who worked with Slot as his No. 2 since 2022 at Feyenoord, will take a first assistant coach position with the Reds.

Before resigning from the role earlier this year, the 49-year-old also assisted Ronald Koeman with the Netherlands national side.

Ruben Peeters, who will be joining the AXA Training Centre as the main physical performance coach, will also be moving from Rotterdam.

Following his involvement with the USA national team in this summer’s Copa America, Fabian Otte, head of custodian coaching for the first team, will relocate to Merseyside.

Slot stated to Liverpoolfc.com: “It goes without saying that you should bring certain individuals along as well, since they are familiar with your personality, playing style, and ability to communicate this to the other staff members. But you may presume, as I have already noted, that there are a lot of good individuals working here as well if you visit a club like Liverpool.

Thus, in order to apply some of our ideas and make use of the expertise that this club already possesses due to the nine years that Jürgen Klopp and his team have worked here, we hope to combine the best aspects of both worlds.

“I introduce Sipke Hulshoff, who has been my Feyenoord assistant for a few years. I used to work with him at Cambuur Leeuwarden, a long time ago. He also served as Ronald Koeman’s assistant on the Dutch national team, but he will now work with me from the beginning. Not by much, but I believe that he is a little older than I am. We’ve worked together for a long time, so I think that helps that we both know exactly what we want in terms of gameplay style and game model.

“After that, we’ll bring in Ruben Peeters, a performance coach, who will assist me and the club with – how should I put this in English? – the way we are working on the physical side.” Since the three of us have been working together at Feyenoord for three years, it is normal for us to know how we want to work.

Additionally, we have added Fabian Otte, who previously worked for Borussia Monchengladbach and is currently playing goalkeeping for the USA team in the Copa America, to our goalkeeping staff.

“Those are the first jobs we filled, and I believe we are still searching for one or two more. I’ve been talking to Richard Hughes a lot on the phone about this and the other roles we still need to fill.

Feyenoord coach confirms transfer to Liverpool following employment of Arne Slot.

    Ruben Peeters

Although Arne Slot’s backroom staff has not yet been formally announced by Liverpool, Ruben Peeters has indicated that he will be joining Anfield.

Even though Arne Slot’s replacement for Jurgen Klopp was confirmed last month, Liverpool has not yet made an official announcement regarding Slot’s backroom staff.

The former Feyenoord manager took official office on June 1st and will make his public debut this summer. His backroom staff hasn’t been revealed yet, but with around a month till he leads his first preseason at Anfield, they are starting to take shape.

Sipke Hulshoff is anticipated to follow his countryman from Feyenoord to Liverpool, where he will assume the role of assistant head coach. But when pressed recently about his future plans, he played it tight.

He said to RTV NOF Radio, “I can’t go into too much detail about the content, but ultimately the head coach decides who comes along.” “The collaboration with Arne is at such a good level that his confidence in me is also great and that is wonderful.”

While Slot intends to bring Etienne Reijnen to Liverpool as well, he may find it difficult to obtain the required work visa for the UK because he does not appear to possess the coaching credentials required to move to the Premier League, according to stories circulating in Holland.

Ruben Peeters, a Feyenoord coach, will, nevertheless, be moving to Anfield. The 32-year-old’s transfer to Liverpool was revealed by his agency, Claes Agency, last week.

In addition, Peeters has already publicly acknowledged the change on LinkedIn in advance of assuming the role of first team lead physical performance coach for the Reds.

He commented, “I’m excited to announce that I’m taking on a new role at Liverpool Football Club as First Team Lead Physical Performance Coach!” With Klopp’s departure as manager, there will be significant behind-the-scenes changes at Anfield this summer.

Alongside the German in quitting the club are Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos, John Achterberg, Jack Robinson, Andreas Schlumberger, and Andreas Kornmayer. The latter two, who oversaw recuperation and performance and served as director of fitness and conditioning, will be partially replaced by Peeters.

Liverpool is now looking to fill positions for a first team set piece coach, first team physiotherapist, and physical performance coach-strength and conditioning lead on LinkedIn, however some of the gaps will be filled by Slot’s reliable backroom team members.

With their methodical acquisition of Arne Slot from Feyenoord, Liverpool has once again set the standard. The Reds wasted no time in guaranteeing that there will be some continuity following Jurgen Klopp’s final departure from Anfield.

The first team squad can rest easy knowing that a succession plan is in place, even though they will need to adjust to a new working environment and possibly a different management style.

Nothing is worse for a worker in any organisation than to believe that their employer—a venerable football team in this case—is not giving them enough guidance.

Three more will follow Arne Slot at Liverpool.

With the exception of the Super League fiasco, FSG has been steadfast in their support of its management and open about their goals ever since taking over the team.

The Reds are serious about their game, as seen by Slot’s approaching arrival. No more of those “will they, won’t they” types of situations that seem to be eating up far too much time at rival Manchester United.

The players for Liverpool will know exactly what to expect when they return for preseason when the season ends.

After a few weeks of work, it will be clear whether some of Klopp’s most devoted players can handle Slot’s style of play.

If nothing else, the manager will feel secure in the knowledge that he is surrounded by capable individuals.

This is due to the fact that sources have informed Football Insider that analyst Etienne Reijnen, head of performance Ruben Peeters, and assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff of Feyenoord have all decided to follow Slot to Liverpool.

Going to be leaving soon There are just two teams interested in this Liverpool midfielder.

Thiago, a midfielder for Liverpool, currently only has two alternatives for the summer.

This is in line with a recent rumour from Fichajes, which states that two Italian teams are interested in the seasoned Spanish midfield player.

After sustaining a muscle injury in February, Thiago, 33, is expected to depart Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

What’s next for Thiago after his trade to Liverpool?

And now that his future is uncertain, the 33-year-old playmaker is reportedly drawing interest from Juventus and Inter Milan, albeit his next move has not yet been determined.

Thiago has played in Spain with Barcelona and Germany with Bayern Munich, but he hasn’t played in Serie A, which is one reason a transfer to Italy would be appealing to him.

However, it wouldn’t be shocking if Liverpool’s soon-to-be-leaving number six ended up in the Middle East before hanging up his boots, with clubs in the affluent Pro League of Saudi Arabia scheduled for a massive £2 billion summer buying binge.

Thiago, who won the FA and Carabao Cup under Jurgen Klopp, has spent four years at Anfield and has contributed directly to nine goals in 98 games across all competitions.
