Liverpool injury latest before Toulouse, Curtis Jones update coming as three players are absent

Before Toulouse, three players from Liverpool were injured, and there will be an update on Curtis Jones.

After a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road against Luton, Liverpool disappointed London. Many predicted that Jürgen Klopp’s team would easily defeat the North London team and take all three points, but the home team outplayed Liverpool and disappointed them. Luis Díaz’s goal for Liverpool in the final seconds of play sealed a draw.

Liverpool is currently three points behind Manchester City, the league leaders, in third place in the Premier League standings. The two teams will square off at the end of the month, and fireworks are always guaranteed when these two get together.

A long list of injuries to many of Klopp’s key players hindered Liverpool’s season last year. But this season is different; although the infirmary isn’t as full as it was a year ago, the German team still lacks a few players.

Here is the most recent injury report prior to Thursday, November 9’s Europa League match against Toulouse. Due to his suspension against Brentford this weekend, Alexis Mac Allister is expected to play in Europe during the middle of the workweek.

    Stefan Bajčetić and Thiago Alcântara

    Stefan Bajčetić and Thiago Alcântara

After extended injuries, neither Thiago Alcântara nor Stefan Bajčetić have returned to training for Liverpool. In a recent statement, Klopp said that the Spaniard won’t return to action until early in 2024.

According to Klopp, “it’s an ongoing thing and we cannot put any kind of pressure on there as well,” on November 3. “We expect him to be back — and I would say probably the start of the New Year.” In late April, Thiago made his Liverpool debut in a 2-1 victory over West Ham.

Regarding Bajčetic, Klopp concurs that the player won’t be making a quick comeback to the field; patience is the key. “We are unsure of his expected return date.

Once more, it’s one of these things with Stefan. Although everyone could see Stefan’s amazing quality, potential, and talent—what a player!—the physique was not yet prepared, according to Klopp.

    Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson

    Stefan Bajčetić and Thiago Alcântara

During his national duty for Scotland in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain, the player sustained an injury. During the encounter, Robertson had to be hauled off after landing awkwardly on his shoulder. At this point, Klopp is unsure of how long the 29-year-old will be sidelined following surgery to fix the damage.

“Robbo had surgery and [it] all went well, as good as it could be, so the recovery starts after he wakes up,” Klopp stated on the 25th of October. “I believe it took place this morning. That is all. The first stage is completed, which is wonderful, even though we have no idea how long it will take or anything else.”

Luke Chambers started the Europa League match against Toulouse, but Kostas Tsimikas has been a regular stand-in for Robertson at left back. Calum Scanlon is an additional youthful alternative that may be considered.

Due to a “minor fitness issue,” Jones was unable to play in the Luton match. As of right now, it is unknown if he will be available for the Toulouse match. Klopp might give an update during his press conference, but it’s unlikely that he will be absent for very long as he could play in at least one of this week’s games.

  • Liverpool 11 players who were not involved during international break

Liverpool 11 players who were not involved during international break

During the break, eight different players were required to play 180 minutes for their respective countries, but 11 Reds did not participate in any games in October.

It is incredible to think that we will have to go through this a third time in a month, especially after Andy Robertson suffered a serious injury during the October international break.

Six different Liverpool players registered either a goal or an assist, making the total number of first-team players called up for their country to 16; eight of them played every minute.

The absence of Robertson, Ben Doak, and Luke Chambers has left Jurgen Klopp regretting their injuries.
He will have little time with his entire team before facing Everton on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

However, a total of 11 senior players were ineligible for selection or were injured and thus did not participate in international action this month.

While Caoimhin Kelleher, Conor Bradley, Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic, and Cody Gakpo were unable to play because of injuries, Adrian, Marcelo Pitaluga, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, and Ryan Gravenberch were all left out.

Kelleher missed the Reds’ final two games before the break because he needed 12 stitches after cutting his knee during practice, but Gravenberch’s absence remains puzzling.

The midfielder turned down the call-up last month in favor of settling in his new home, and the Netherlands, both the senior team and the under-21 squad, have harbored resentment toward him ever since.

    Liverpool gains from their loss!

The midfielder was given time off, just like other players who did not play for their nations, but he will be one of the select few to take advantage of uninterrupted practice leading up to the Merseyside derby.

Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are in a comparable situation and will be strongly considered for the starting spot at Anfield on Saturday.
If Gakpo’s rehabilitation goes according to plan, the same may be true for him.

Following his knee injury at Tottenham, the Dutch forward was said to have “a good chance” of returning after the break.
It is hoped that he will be available for selection against Everton.

One of Liverpool’s top summer targets for next year is made public

The ideal young forward has been identified by Liverpool, who want to bolster their lineup for next summer.

Over the past 12 months, Jurgen Klopp’s team has achieved an amazing rebuild by investing in youth and offloading experienced players.

The club lost Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino in the summer as they moved to Saudi Arabia.

After Wataru Endo, Dominic Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister joined the team last summer, the midfield in particular received the most attention.

The Reds have been connected to a number of possible replacements as a result of reports that Mo Salah may eventually depart for Saudi Arabia.

Johan Bakayoko is one of Klopp’s top priorities for his team to sign next year, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The PSV winger made an impression in the previous season and was on the verge of joining Brentford in the summer, but he turned it down to remain in the Eredivisie.

Bakayoko, who is only 20 years old, would be a great fit for this young Liverpool team and would be a true steal at an estimated £20 million.

The Merseyside team may make a move for a midfielder or defender as early as the January transfer window, according to rumours

Jürgen Klopp still needs to unleash four players for Liverpool as the actual Man City edge becomes apparent.

Jürgen Klopp still needs to unleash four players for Liverpool as the actual Man City edge becomes apparent.

Jürgen Klopp will be happy with Liverpool’s strong start to the season. However, the Reds have more in store, including the return of a few players.

Already in the new season, Liverpool has had a very successful start.
Juergen Klopp’s team could have been leading the Premier League table if a few things had gone differently in the VAR hub during the Spurs match.

Furthermore, even after receiving four red cards already and winning some difficult matches, this is still the case.

Before an enticing trip to Manchester City, the next four games—Everton, Nottingham Forest, Luton, and Brentford—all appear winnable.

Liverpool appears to be in a much better position this season than it was the previous one, even though there is still a long way to go.
This is largely due to Klopp’s summertime midfield makeover.

Liverpool has added two more midfielders to their roster, Thiago Alcântara and Stefan Bajčetić, to go along with new additions Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endō, and Ryan Gravenberch. The Spanish duo has mostly suffered injuries thus far.

As a matter of fact, Thiago has not played a minute this season, and Bajčetić has been carefully managed following a season-ending injury that kept him out for nearly half a year.
Before the international break, Klopp stated that both players were getting closer to making a return.

Although, for obvious reasons, neither player should be depended upon excessively, it would be a huge advantage for Liverpool to occasionally insert both into its lineup.

Jürgen Klopp still needs to unleash four players for Liverpool as the actual Man City edge becomes apparent.

Last season, Bajčetić demonstrated his potential at the senior level, and Thiago, despite his frequent injuries, is a fantastic midfield player.

Despite being healthy the entire season, Harvey Elliott didn’t start until against Brighton, where the midfield appeared unbalanced without Curtis Jones.

However, Elliott hasn’t exactly been let loose yet either; we’ve only really seen tidbits of his true nature.

It is quite possible that in the upcoming months, he will play a bigger role as a rotation player in the Carabao Cup and Europa League and a very good option to have off the bench.

If he continues to have success in his cameos, there will be more opportunities to use him at the Amex Stadium, where he will be much more effective against weaker opponents.

Conor Bradley is yet another young talent that has missed time due to injury.
Though Joe Gomez is more effective when he plays in the center, Bradley may not be the first choice.

Instead of replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gomez could be able to play more centers.

This would give Klopp additional defensive options to choose from, allowing Liverpool to rotate more easily for the upcoming non-Premier League games, where winning is still crucial for the season overall.

As he gets back into action, Bradley might be able to fulfill his goal of watching the Europa League games throughout the summer.

In actuality, Liverpool is the team in the nation with the most depth, especially when it comes to attack.

Although it was expensive to lose Diogo Jota (suspension) and Cody Gakpo (injury) for the Brighton match, Liverpool would rarely be without more than one attacker if they fielded Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz, and Darwin Núñez.

In contrast, Jack Grealish and Jérémy Doku are not as dependable as the goal-scoring options available to Klopp, and Manchester City has suffered without Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne.
Every attacker for Liverpool poses a serious risk.

Even though not every player in Liverpool’s deep squad will be available and fit at any given time in the main, this is a benefit that will become more and more apparent as the season goes on.

The real depth of talent the Reds possess will only become more evident as players like Thiago get back to full health.

Liverpool injury update: Latest news and return dates for Stefan Bajcetic, Cody Gakpo and Thiago Alcantara

For Everton’s visit to Anfield, Liverpool might welcome back three players to the first team picture.

Following the international break, several first-team stars will return, giving Liverpool a boost.

Jurgen Klopp’s team has had a strong start to the Premier League season and sits just three points off Tottenham and Arsenal, despite having to settle for a draw against Brighton on Sunday.

The Liverpool manager will be eager to have players like Cody Gakpo and Stefan Bajcetic available to him once more because a derby match against Everton is scheduled to take place immediately following the international matches.

Here are the most recent injury updates for Liverpool.

    Cody Gakpo.

After leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a week ago wearing a knee brace after being taken off the field at halftime of that game, there were concerns that Cody Gakpo would have to spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines.

A “good chance” exists that the Dutchman will be healthy and available to play against Everton after the international break, according to Klopp, who revealed that the injury kept him out of the draw with Brighton.

“He is already out of the brace, walks normally around, so from all the very, very bad opportunities and possibilities injury-wise, I think he nearly got the best but is still injured,” Klopp said.

    Thiago Alcantara.

Due to hip surgery at the end of the previous season, Thiago Alcantara has not yet played in this season.

The midfielder was getting close to playing again, but a few minor setbacks have hindered his recovery.
Though the Everton game may be scheduled too soon, the Liverpool manager has expressed the hope that Thiago will be available soon after the international break.

He has now experienced two setbacks in his rehabilitation, neither of which were severe but were sufficient to remove him from the field once more, according to Klopp.

“Clearly, the injury is not the same, but it is somewhat similar.

26 October, 2023 against Toulouse is a possible return date.

    Stephen Bajcetic.

Liverpool injury update: Latest news and return dates for Stefan Bajcetic, Cody Gakpo and Thiago Alcantara

In the Europa League match against LASK, Stefan Bajcetic made his long-awaited comeback from injury by starting.
He then came off the bench in the victory over Leicester in the Carabao Cup a week later.

The teenager has not participated since, according to Klopp, who claimed that the teenager “felt something else” after making his comeback.

Like Thiago, it is not thought to be a serious problem, so there is a chance he could play in the Merseyside derby.

    Conor Bradley,

Conor Bradley had a stress fracture in his back, it was revealed at the end of August.

Bradley’s status for the remainder of Northern Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualification campaign is described by manager Michael O’Neill as “extreme doubt,” which suggests he might miss the team’s final two games in mid-November.

Last week, Klopp provided a more upbeat update, but he was clear that Liverpool would not rush Bradley back into action.

Conor is returning and running, but in that age group and with these kinds of injuries you tend to give them three weeks more than not enough because it has to do with the body’s growing process and other things like this, the Liverpool said.

JURGEN KLOPP CONFIRMS ‘OUTSTANDING’ LIVERPOOL PLAYER JUST SUFFERED AN INJURY

JURGEN KLOPP CONFIRMS 'OUTSTANDING' LIVERPOOL PLAYER JUST SUFFERED AN INJURY

Following yet another setback in the Liverpool star’s quest to get back in shape, Jurgen Klopp has now spoken out about the most recent “annoying” injury he has seen.

After having surgery at the end of the previous season, the 32-year-old hasn’t played for the Reds since April. Liverpool sent the Spaniard for surgery in the hopes that it would treat Thiago’s chronic hip injury.
Further issues with his recovery at Melwood, however, have since surfaced.

Initially, Thiago’s return to training in August gave manager Klopp a major boost. But just as he was about to resume exercising, Thiago returned to the clinic a few weeks later.
Following the emergence of a new issue, the 46-cap international is now facing a second protected absence.

Thiago’s latest injury is “annoying,” according to Klopp, the manager of Liverpool.

As Liverpool manage another injury, Klopp has confirmed that Thiago is still far from making his eagerly anticipated comeback.
Despite not being a major issue, it is serious enough to prevent a return.
The two injuries that have troubled him for months have nothing to do with his current problem.

The Liverpool Echo reported that Klopp said, “It’s just, for him especially, it’s annoying.”.
His rehabilitation has now experienced two setbacks. Not much, but enough to remove him from the field once more.
It is obviously not the same injury at all, but it is somewhat similar.

Following the Spaniard’s hip injury that required surgery, Thiago missed Liverpool’s final six Premier League games of the 2022–23 season.
After just 18 appearances, of which he began in 14, his campaign came to an end in April.
Only 1,256 minutes of league play would be allotted to Thiago by Klopp.

At Anfield, Thiago has never managed to stay fit for the entire season.

Following yet another setback in the Liverpool star's quest to get back in shape, Jurgen Klopp has now spoken out about the most

Liverpool and Klopp will have hoped for better this season given the numerous injuries Thiago dealt with last year.
Over the course of their Premier League season, he spent four periods on the sidelines.
As a result of an injury, Thiago missed three of those time periods.

A full season of fitness hasn’t been achieved by the Spaniard since Klopp acquired Thiago from Bayern Munich for an initial £20 million, with a further £25 million to be paid in September 2020. The midfielder, who Klopp has praised as “outstanding,” has consistently missed at least one extended period of time

Jurgen Klopp has hit the jackpot with Liverpool summer transfer ahead of Newcastle

Liverpool's £25.5m bid for Andre 'rejected' as Reds finally drop transfer for good
Our weekly Liverpool jury columnists consider the Bournemouth victory as well as Sunday’s matchup with Newcastle United.

When Liverpool plays Newcastle United this weekend, they will be looking to build on last Saturday’s three-point performance.

The Reds should be extremely encouraged by the fact that they were the only Premier League team to sweep Eddie Howe’s team from the previous season as they get ready to square off against the Magpies once more.

After the Argentine’s red card was overturned, Jurgen Klopp will have access to Alexis Mac Allister on Sunday afternoon, which is a significant improvement for the midfield. Additionally, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are nearing their respective comebacks from injuries, while Curtis Jones might miss his second straight game due to an ankle problem.

Four supporters have provided their opinions as part of a weekly ECHO fan column in anticipation of the Reds’ upcoming matchup with the Magpies.

Rhys Buchanan (city centre, @Rhys_Buchanan) – No changes required ahead of Sunday

I was more than happy to return to Anfield last weekend, reconnecting with old friends and familiar faces I hadn’t seen in a long time and remembering routines while enjoying a few cold beers in the beautiful sunshine. Fortunately, the Reds had no intention of ruining the celebration, so we could take pleasure in watching various other encouraging results accumulate over the course of the round of games (and that’s before we get to how I’ve missed the pies).

Aside from the initial shakiness at the back, I thought we displayed strong character to rally and could take a lot of positives with us. I was quietly impressed by Wataru Endo’s grit and determination, despite the challenging circumstances surrounding his introduction following Mac Allister’s severe dismissal. Diaz appears to be in great shape elsewhere, and Szoboszlai has all the makings of being a key player this season.

I would be looking to start the same team for Sunday’s challenging away game at Newcastle, and as a realist at this point, I would settle for a point to build on, or even better, a repeat of the Reds’ decisive away victory at St. James’ Park last season! Up the Reds.

Szoboszlai already has the look of the real deal, says Andrew Cullen (Widnes, @brothersred5).

Liverpool produced a composed performance against Bournemouth after a tentative start. Dominik Szoboszlai gave a dynamic, fluid performance that was overflowing with speed and power. He already has the appearance of being the player who can give the Liverpool midfield new life. We have benefited from having box-to-box midfielders who are strong and athletic, like Henderson and Fabinho, as well as players with flair, like Thiago and Keta.

Cody Gakpo’s midfield experiment hasn’t quite succeeded. Gakpo was essential to the team’s success last season in a more advanced role. He has, however, quickly lost playing time this season when he has been positioned in the middle of the field. When we want to unleash more attacking players onto the field at Anfield, Gakpo may be an option in the midfield, but as an established midfielder, the early indications are that such a position will stifle his brilliance rather than unfold it.

I anticipate Gakpo to be replaced by Endo when Manchester United visit this weekend. Our defensive posture should be improved by this switch. Even at this early stage, we must keep up with the advancing front-runners in the title race, which is already under way.

Liverpool is taking lessons from last year, writes David Shams (@ShamsWriter, Beijing).

Last season, the Liverpool supporters were doubting everything at this point. Sure, the 9-0 and 7-0 victories over Bournemouth and Manchester United offered a glimmer of hope, but the assurance we found in those performances could never be replicated. Was this the beginning of the end after such a high?

Of course, there are still unanswered questions. Once one issue is resolved today, another one will arise tomorrow.

Although it’s still very early in the season, it seems like some of the weaknesses from the previous campaign are almost completely overcome. In the past year, such grit and determination have not been seen. The team would have crumbled and flailed as they attempted to get back into the game against Bournemouth had they conceded an early goal. Unlike before, this time.

They managed to grind out a difficult point on the road at Stamford Bridge, which was something that the team from the previous season struggled with in other away games.
    For Sunday, this is encouraging.
Newcastle has grown stronger as a result of its renovation, riding high on petrodollars. A loss won’t end the season, but if you win all three, we’ll leave a lasting impression. It’s safe to say that last season is over.

The overturning of Mac Allister’s red card on Sunday could be crucial, according to James Noble (Worcestershire, @james_noble98).

We may not have had the easiest victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, but that might have worked in our favor. Finally, despite being down a goal and then a player, Liverpool responded enthusiastically and positively. As a season goes on, it can’t help but be beneficial to be able to use adversity as a springboard when necessary.

Dominik Szoboszlai served as the process’s technically astute driving force. What encouraging preliminary evidence the Hungarian is providing. However, the Reds continue to overly encourage their opponents. Sunday probably has a lot less margin for error.

Going to St. James’ Park in order to take on Newcastle does seem to jump off the page. The Magpies, radiant under Eddie Howe, should present a significant challenge. It’s one to anticipate and be prepared for.

It could be crucial to know when to shift up a gear and when to put the car into cruise. The rhythmic sense of Alexis Mac Allister can be useful in that regard. On Tuesday, it was extremely gratifying to learn that his red card had been overturned. Jürgen Klopp’s team can thrive in this environment if they have strong foundations and a persistent willingness to roll with the punches.

The transformation of the Liverpool midfielder: reasons to be happy, parts 1, 2 and 3

The transformation of the Liverpool midfielder: reasons to be happy, parts 1, 2 and 3
Liverpool’s recent victory at Anfield against Bournemouth might not have been as haunting as it was at this time last year, but there were signs of a new horizon.

A promising end to the season in terms of form and results, an initially optimistic start to our summer transfer business, then disruptive Arabian Nights followed by no return attempts to lure Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Anfield.

Add an incomplete stand at Anfield and things are a bit turbulent.

Glad everything is going well on the pitch as the new season has started…

An overly generous and sloppy opening, profuse gifts offered as a goal in our own half seemed elusive. When the ball first landed in the Liverpool net on Saturday, the incident itself – and the linesman’s flag – should have acted like fragrant salts.

    But they didn’t.

Even with a deficit, Jurgen Klopp’s players seemed to be tripping over their own feet, as if the score in the corresponding game last season had entitled them to sleepwalk in the first home game.

As juxtapositions go, this was the opposite of what happened at Stamford Bridge six days earlier, where Liverpool were dominant and calm until Mo Salah’s VAR foul turned an expected 2-0 lead into a inconclusive 1-1 draw.

Three goals and a red card later, and it looked a little more than scripted we might have imagined for the start of 2023/24, after 2022/23 ended with a run of seven wins and four draws in one unbeaten streak last 11 Premier League games.

Perspective and all while some of us are opting for the layer of emotional protection that comes with an “expect the worst and hope for the best” approach to our hopes this time around despite the transfer setbacks, I think there are reasons to be cheerful. A two-part renovation

    Two-part rebuild

    A two-part rebuild
The midfield, which had long been the elephant in the Anfield dressing room – including during winning seasons in the Champions League and Premier League – has finally had its much-needed restart.

Partly planned, partly unexpected. Five out, three in as things stand, with the third of those newcomers arriving just over 24 hours before kickoff on Saturday.

It provided an uplifting but uncomfortable rejuvenation.

The numbers game is no doubt a concern, but it was tempered by the emergence of Stefan Bajcetic last season and the ground made up by Curtis Jones in the run up to that. Of the others we were able to keep, Thiago remains but will certainly stick to his average, missing at least a third of the season, while the decision on Harvey Elliott, which seemed to raise more questions than answers, is still largely undecided. his late appearance on Saturday.

The departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came as no surprise this summer, but the losses of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were clearly not part of the script.

The latter two were certainly keen on their lucrative move east, but it was highly unusual for Liverpool to let them go without a replacement being found and secured.

    The next great midfield duo?

    Two-part rebuild
Rightly or wrongly, Fabinho and Henderson provided Liverpool’s midfield base for a long time, with a revolving door system dictating who should play alongside them.

Demographics are changing dramatically. The departure of Henderson and Fabinho could very well do us.

    The next great midfield duo?

You can’t help but be thrilled by the additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai who, together, offer us third eye vision and a force of nature that can mesmerizingly serve us for many years to come.

Mac Allister is perfect for Liverpool in theory. Cultured, intelligent and calm in possession, he worked out the angles in his head long before interacting with the ball. Potentially, after nearly a decade and a half of waiting, we may have finally found an heir for Xabi Alonso.

    The next great midfield duo?
He had difficulties with the red card shown to him on Saturday, but even if it had been a yellow card it would still have been two yellow cards in the first two games.

Even if his sending off against Bournemouth were to be reversed, we will probably have to get used to his periodic suspensions over the next few months.

In Szoboszlai we find a player who seems to have everything you could want from a midfielder.

Power, pace, offensive spirit, no problem handling the dark arts when necessary, nose for goal, will to win, passion and dedication. An iron fist in a player’s velvet glove, it’s a joy to behold.

    The missing piece?

Liverpool set to seek final offer to sign £32m midfielder – report
Our latest signing, Wataru Endo, entered the fray shortly after Mac Allister’s departure on Saturday, and played his part in taking us to as serene a third endgame as we could have wished for with 10 men.

Strangely, Endo was canceled by a glass-half-empty caller on the Radio Merseyside phone as I was walking home, apparently for no better reason than the fact that it was about £95m cheaper than Caicedo would have stopped us.

Whether or not Klopp makes another midfield addition before the end of the transfer window, signing Endo could prove to be a smart move.

The departures of Henderson, Fabinho and Milner have seen much of the team’s experience disappear and the Japanese captain is able to make up some of the shortfall.

We’ll probably need a lot of that at Tyneside next Sunday in a game where we can’t afford to have Cody Gakpo in midfield.

Coming off a crucial win over Bournemouth, a fixture between trips to Chelsea and Newcastle next Sunday gives us an opportunity to make a statement if we can.

That goes for both Liverpool’s position and whether Eddie Howe and his players are raising doubts about how they feel about themselves and their chances this season.

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
Liverpool squad news as Curtis Jones is injured.

Curtis Jones looks set to miss Liverpool’s match against AFC Bournemouth. The midfielder suffered a twisted ankle in training earlier this week, according to The Athletic, which ruled him out of action ahead of Saturday’s fixture with the Cherries at Anfield (3pm BST).

Jones came off the bench in the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the 2023/24 Premier League curtain-opener last week. The 22-year-old was not photographed with the rest of his teammates at the AXA Training Center on Wednesday, with his injury likely explaining his absence. It is hoped that Jones’ problem is not too serious and that he will be back for the trip to Newcastle United next week, but it is a blow for Jurgen Klopp who is already lacking opportunities in midfield.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Thiago Alcantara is back in training but still not ready to join him as he underwent hip surgery in April. Stefan Bajcetic underwent adductor surgery in March and is not yet considered fit to play.

Meanwhile, there is uncertainty whether newcomer Wataru Endo will get a work permit in time for his performance. The 30-year-old joined Liverpool from Stuttgart for a fee of £16m, it was announced on Friday. Klopp confirmed the player is physically ready, having already started the season at Stuttgart, but said: “We’ll see.”

As things stand, Klopp’s suitable midfield options for Bournemouth are summer signings Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, who both made their Chelsea debuts. Cody Gakpo was dropped off in the engine room at Stamford Bridge while Harvey Elliott impressed coming off the bench. Youngster James McConnell was given a place among the substitutes.

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool will not use the money as an “excuse” in the transfer window, despite growing influence and cash flow from Chelsea and Saudi Arabia.

The big stories this week centered on Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea in deals for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who have both opted to join the London club.

The Reds have responded by signing Wataru Endo, but this has only fueled the fire in many quarters when it comes to the club’s appeal, something Klopp has rejected.

Klopp often provides glowing answers to questions at his press conferences and Friday was no different after being asked if the club is having trouble signing players this summer.

“I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Liverpool, to be honest. More difficult to dress? No,” Klopp insisted.

“Everything is more difficult, everything. There are reasons, you all know them. You’ve probably written about this before, these stories aren’t what I have to say about them. “But it’s really difficult, there are a lot of things that have changed since last year.”

Alluding to Chelsea’s never-ending transfer cases, Klopp continued: “Some clubs do it differently and nobody understands 100 per cent how it works.”

“As a normal club it’s really difficult to follow them. We just watch what they do and that’s fine, not my problem. I don’t blame anyone for what it is.”

Klopp also cited Saudi Arabia’s growing power to throw “infinite sums of money” at players making life “more difficult”, but that played no part in convincing a target to move to Anfield.

“Also, Saudi Arabia is not making it easy. Our window ends on August 31st [note: it’s September 1st] and their window is still open, so for players who aren’t happy, they will come back.

Liverpool suffer from 'new injury' as four midfielders could miss AFC Bournemouth fixture
“It’s okay if there’s another league that’s growing, it’s football, that’s fine. We don’t have the right to say it’s not allowed, China has tried, the United States could still try. No problem.

“But infinite money creates problems, that’s how it is. We sit here and [think] ‘what can we do now’. It would be nice if someone could come up with a solution, some rules – I don’t know.

“Yes, it has become more difficult, but not to convince players to go to Liverpool,” he continued.

“One hundred percent, if you called a million players, they would come right away. We just have to make sure you pick the right one, our timing is different from others. “We can’t just spend and watch later, that’s the way things are.
    It is good.

“I’m here and I’m very happy with the transfer window right now, our transfer window.

“I know what happened last week, I know what football fans are like and I know they would rather bring in a £110m or £150m player, and your club can do it.

“This is quite nice, but in the end the pitch is the same size, the player doesn’t grow with the money he costs, it’s quite the opposite. “I’m really happy for the moment. We keep looking, we keep looking.

“We will do everything we can to make the best decisions for this club and we won’t use a second of money or anything as an excuse. We just do it with everything we have. That’s the idea. “We do it our way, we are here and we are ready to fight.”

Now that Chelsea is coming up, Liverpool needs to start planning itsteam carefully. That might depend more on Thiago’s return than it does on transfer activity.

There hasn’t been any substantial Liverpool transfer news since Fabinho and Jordan Henderson’s departures were made official. The lack of new defensive midfielders has led to an urgent need for one, but otherwise things have been eerily quiet.

Of course, there has been the widely reported pursuit of Roméo Lavia, but one week out from the start of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign, that has not yet resulted in anything. At this point, Jürgen Klopp must start preparing for the Chelsea game without a new hire in the Fabinho position.

It’s possible that a deal will be reached in the next seven days, either for Lavia or for someone else, but Klopp’s sudden inclusion of a new player without even a week’s worth of training would be highly unusual. Additionally, it wouldn’t be very beneficial. He must look internally for the solutions.

The closest thing to recent transfer news Liverpool has had is two players who might (infuriatingly) be characterized as “like new signings,” so perhaps they hold the key. Both Thiago and Stefan Bajeti were scheduled to resume full team training yesterday, according to David Lynch’s report for This is Anfield, and either of them could legitimately be considered for the starting number six position against Chelsea.

This pair will undoubtedly have limited training experience because they have missed the entirety of preseason, much like any new transfer addition. However, unlike a genuine new signing, they at least are aware of Klopp’s system’s requirements.

Now that Chelsea is coming up, Liverpool needs to start planning itsteam carefully. That might depend more on Thiago's return than it does
They would be preferable to the Curtis Jones solution overall. Considering his attacking tendencies, the academy graduate has performed admirably, but it is obvious that he lacks Fabinho’s ability to break up counterattacks. He is only effective as a deep controller when Liverpool is certain it will win the match.

Overall, Thiago must win, provided he is healthy. Contrary to popular belief, he contributes defensively more than enough; he just needs to break the habit of losing his possessions in dangerous areas. In contrast to Bajeti, he also brings a seasoned perspective, providing some stability in a midfield for Liverpool that has undergone significant change.

After all, he’ll probably be paired with the new Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai team, which has a $122 million (£96 million/€111 million) budget. When they both started together for the first time against Bayern Munich, they both made an impression and have since displayed encouraging signs of assimilating into Klopp’s preferred strategy. They are able to offer Thiago the urgent protection he needs up front, and they are free to move forward with the veteran’s support in their rear.

But that doesn’t mean Liverpool can afford to put off its search for a new center-midfielder until after their match against Chelsea. While Klopp may not be looking for a starter for the first game, he still needs to integrate a new specialist number six as soon as possible, and the ideal situation would still see Lavia signed prior to the start of the season.

He should ideally be prepared to start the match against Chelsea on the bench and possibly enter at the end. However, the Thiago option at least ensures that Liverpool won’t be held to ransom in the days leading up to the start of the new season because the ideal midfield for that match will now be composed of players already at Klopp’s disposal.

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold; Konaté; Van Dijk; Robertson; Thiago; Mac Allister; Szoboszlai; Jota; Gakpo; Salah; could be a lineup against Chelsea.

Liverpool transfer news: latest on Romeo Lavia, loan offer for Kylian Mbappe, and Stefan Bajcetic's injury.
Fabinho, Romeo Lavia, Andre Trindade, and other players have all been the subject of recent Liverpool transfer news, rumors, gossip, and speculation.

After Fabinho is completed, Romeo Lavia is anticipated to sign as the third summer signing.

Andre Trindade’s agent’s alleged plans to move to England have generated excitement, while Khephren Thuram, a frequent subject of rumors, has returned after OGC Nice disclosed their transfer policy regarding the Frenchman.

Kylian Mbappe could be acquired by Liverpool on loan.
As the forward’s dispute with the Parisians goes on, Liverpool is reportedly considering an outrageous loan move for superstar Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman has less than a year left on his current contract with PSG, has refused to sign a new one, and club officials believe he is focused on a lucrative Bosman transfer to Real Madrid.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool is “ready” to offer Mbappe a one-year loan deal at Anfield, which would seem to benefit all parties by giving the 24-year-old player playing time before Euro 2024. In the meantime, a fee of some kind would be paid to the Ligue 1 champions for the forward.

Jurgen Klopp makes a midfield hints.

Liverpool transfer news: latest on Romeo Lavia, loan offer for Kylian Mbappe, and Stefan Bajcetic's injury.
In front of a large crowd of spectators on Saturday during open practice at Singapore’s National Stadium, Jurgen Klopp put his players through their paces. A 10-a-side game was played in one half of the field for a sizable portion of the first half of the training session.

The attacking team’s line-up with Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, and Ibrahima Konate as a back three, Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold as a double six, and Alexis Mac Allister and Bobby Clark as the final two midfielders was where there was the most intrigue. Attackers were aiming for Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez.

Possible hints regarding Leicester’s starting lineup. However, it appears that the Reds will stick with their 3-2-2-3 box midfield strategy for the time being.

Stefan Bajcetic will resume full team practice for Liverpool after they return from their Far Eastern tour later this week.

And as the new Premier League season approaches, Thiago Alcantara is likely to soon take a similar step in his injury recovery, giving the Reds even more support.

Due to an adductor issue, Bajcetic hasn’t played since March, prematurely ending the 18-year-old’s breakthrough campaign.

After Romeo Lavia’s bid, Jurgen Klopp explains Liverpool’s transfer strategy.

Liverpool transfer news: latest on Romeo Lavia, loan offer for Kylian Mbappe, and Stefan Bajcetic's injury.
It is “absolutely clear,” according to Jurgen Klopp, that Liverpool needs to add at least one more midfielder during this transfer window.

With the additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in recent weeks, the Reds have already spent £95 million to bolster the engine room.

Although James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita had already left this summer, the unexpected departure of Jordan Henderson to Al-Ettifaq and the likelihood that Fabinho would follow the former captain to Saudi Arabia have left Liverpool without any senior options.

Romeo Lavia, a defensive midfielder for Southampton, is 19 years old. Southampton rejected Liverpool’s initial offer of £34 million plus £4 million in add-ons because they wanted £50 million for the player.

While the Reds are keeping an open mind about any additional signings before the transfer window closes, Klopp has previously stated he wants a new player before the start of the Premier League season at Chelsea in a fortnight.

Klopp responded, when asked how crucial it would be to further improve the midfield area, “That would not be a bad idea. It is crystal clear to us that we must take action there. Clearly, solutions are something we’re working on. ”.

    Chelsea rival Liverpool’s Kudus interest

Liverpool transfer news: latest on Romeo Lavia, loan offer for Kylian Mbappe, and Stefan Bajcetic's injury.
Rayan Cherki of Lyon, Mohammed Kudus of Ajax, who has previously been linked with a move to Anfield, and Michael Olise of Crystal Palace have all been named as players of interest by Chelsea.

The Frenchman, who is believed to have a £35 million release clause in his contract, Olise, has also recently become a target for Manchester City.

    .
According to reports in FootballLondon, Kudus has garnered interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

Liverpool have confirmed eight players will turn up for the start of pre-season training on Saturday, but the Reds already have more stars at the AXA Training Center

Liverpool’s 2023/24 season has officially begun after The Reds’ first senior stars arrived at the AXA Training Center on Saturday for the start of season preparations.

The club confirmed last week that the eight senior Liverpool players who had not been called up for the international squad would all turn up this weekend.

Naturally, Adrian, Stefan Bajcetic, Fabinho, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Darwin Nunez, Nat Phillips and Thiago Alcantara were all photographed at the Reds’ training complex as they began preparations for the season.

And while Thiago hasn’t been photographed in training clothes or taking part in any exercises after his campaign was prematurely ended by hip surgery, the other seven stars were all photographed being vetted by club staff. before going to work at the gym and/or out on the field.

As a result, Bajcetic returned from injury, having missed the end of his breakout campaign with a kidnapper issue, as he was photographed both in the gym and practicing with the ball on the field.

Meanwhile, Calvin Ramsay has also returned from injury following knee surgery, having started pre-season with the Reds as agreed before joining Preston North End on loan on June 15.

The Scotland international was not the only previously unknown player pictured at the AXA training center on Saturday. Academy goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski also had his photo taken in the gymnasium after spending last season on loan at Radomiak Radom in his native Poland.

With the exception of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, senior Liverpool internationals, including summer signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, are due to report for pre-season training on Tuesday July 11.

    Vítezslav Jaros
The two played for England when they won the European Under-21 Championship on Saturday and will therefore be reunited at a later date. Academy goalkeeper Vítezslav Jaros could also return at a later date after representing the Czech Republic in the tournament.

The Reds’ first pre-season friendly will take place in Germany on Wednesday July 19 against Karlsruher SC, with Klopp’s men then meeting Greuther Fürth on July 24.

They will face Leicester City and Bayern Munich 2 in Singapore on July 30 and August, before a final pre-season home friendly against SV Darmstadt 98 at Preston North End’s Deepdale Stadium on August 7.

As always in pre-season, a number of young Liverpoolers are expected to join the first team as they travel to Germany and Singapore.

And while it didn’t feature on Saturday, the Reds’ Under-21 and Under-18 teams showed up at the AXA Training Center earlier in the week to begin their own pre-season preparations, with a number of young club players. present Social media updates following their return to training.

ECHO understands players like Ben Doak and Bobby Clark were both part of the Academy squad before being promoted to the first team in the coming weeks.

Young Players to Keep an Eye Out For During Liverpool's Preseason
Tyler Morton was not in the squad, however, having seen his season loan at Blackburn Rovers end with a broken metatarsal, while the midfielder was believed to still be in rehabilitation.

Despite Morton’s absence, almost enough Academy players were believed to have returned to AXA Training Center last week, including Luke Chambers after a successful mid-season loan spell at Kilmarnock, despite recent links transfer deal with Bayer Leverkusen.

Sources at the club suggest a move to the Bundesliga is nowhere near yet, despite recent reports in Germany, with the Reds traditionally giving younger players a chance to impress in pre-season before deciding whether to be promoted to the first team, remaining with youth level, or leave on loan.

Academy forward Paul Glatzel was also part of the junior squad at the AXA Training Center after three injury-plagued years, despite his contract expiring at the end of last season.

Liverpool confirmed in the club list that the 22-year-old had been offered a new contract, but it is unclear whether he has agreed to an extension at this point.

Adam Lewis is also back at the AXA academy after his loan spell at Newport County in February was cut short with a season-ending hamstring injury.

Despite reports suggesting his contract also expired this summer, the 23-year-old remains at Anfield. In January, he announced that he actually had two years left on his contract, having last signed a contract extension in the summer of 2020. However, club sources believe he will make another move this summer , either on loan or on a permanent basis.

One young player who won’t report to the AXA academy, however, is Kerron Samuels. The 16-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea as an Under-14 player, made nine appearances for the Reds U18s last season but confirmed on Instagram he had joined another Premier League player this summer in Brentford.

Elijah Gift is another player leaving the club. As ECHO first reported, he has now moved to Athletic Bilbao.
